Good job FEATR on doing a thorough research on these food places. These are legit restos/eateries where a Baguio local like me would consider as a place to find that authentic Baguio flavor that we always miss and reminisce about! These are truly Baguio gems that we treasure! 💙💙💙
It’s not bro there are just type of “people” like us who preferred this type of channel and style. So you can say we’re just not part of the general demograph who’s allured by these vlogs showcasing places who either paid them or just hyping up a mediocre food.
From watching a lot of pinoy UA-cam content creators and foreign ones.. FEATR, any pinoy can tell is directed or edited by someone with foreign influences. In Tagalog hindi akma sa panlasa ng masang Pinoy.
As a local of Baguio, I would say you really showed an authentic side of our city specially those comfort food which I miss the most. These restos will never be overrated. They will forever be our pride. There maybe a lot of traffic and tourists nowadays but we will never be greedy to share these good and fresh food. That Katipunan Inn is a total Baguio locals thing, specially with matching karaoke and ginC2 on the side😂
Hands down Erwan is one of the best food blogger! Not just food but he includes the culture and nature also. Ive watched the other video multiple time when he visited benguet and mt province long time ago, i loved its cinematography. Thanks FEATR for showing what our culture is. Im an igorot now living in Canada and this video makes me wanna retire and just go back home and live there for the rest of my life😂
Omg! He made you walk up session road then up to assumption, then, down general luna road, through shoppers Lane to get to the miners hang out! Now, that is a real local food tour! Baguio is indeed walkable. I think that's one big thing visitors should learn from this clip. Thank you for the feature of genuine baguio eats. Your content is top notch and not personality centered! It's refreshing!
Thanks for featuring the OGs of Baguio food scene and not the commercial tourist traps and restaurants often featured by other content creators. Kuya JJ is one of the best photojournalist in the city and his photos date back to the 80s as well as the most harrowing shots I have seen during the 1990 Killer Earthquake. He is definitely the best guide if you want to see a different perspective of a cultural melting pot that is Baguio. Good Job, Featr team! ❤❤❤
Lived the best 5 years of my life while in Baguio during college. I'm working overseas now, thanks to this video I suddenly felt I could breathe baguio's atmosphere again by reminiscing through your clips! I remeber watching indie films in cinematheque which I think got transferred in Ililikha. I left Baguio while the cinema was still a work on progress, I'm so happy to see it finally done, and it looks so cool! I remember painting murals around the city and getting a chance to meet Kidlat Tahimik. It's such a vibrant community. I thought I could get over Baguio's nostalgic aura, but everytime I see clips showing the food, people and the culture, I start to remember every good memory I had in the city, with a bit of tears haha. Can't wait to go back home ,❤. Thank youuu FEATR!
Sana lahat ganto hindi ung ibang food vlogs na kakain kahit saan parang nakakasawa na kulang sila sa storytelling may background ung gantong pagkain saan galing. Kudos talaga sa FEATR.
This kind of feature/documentary showcases the legit Baguio food (past and present). I think the charm goes on through culture preservation or culture-embedded items that are clearly shown in the food and different forms of art. I was looking at Erwan's reactions when he was served the food and I am more than happy to see him deeply appreciating what is served and how it is served. Most (not all) bloggers and vloggers who are just into views would show unappreciative reactions. They wouldn't understand since they focused on their perspective of what and how it should be, instead of accepting the fact that it is really as is. Kudos to FEATR, Erwan, the Writers, and the Researchers who did this video! As a Cordilleran, this is something authentic and unpretentious- an understanding of Baguio City as the melting pot of the Cordillera Administrative Region. I hope you would go on creating these vids for the rest of Cordillera and the country! There are so many underrated food that needs to be revisited and rediscovered by the younger gen! Matago-tago tako am-in (mabuhay tayong lahat!)
Luisa's is truly an institution. I guess it's safe to say that most Baguio locals have fond memories of the place. If only Dainty's, Star Cafe, and all of the other old restaurants we grew up with are still standing. Thanks for featuring the Hometown, FEATR!
I remember our aunty brought us there and we ordered the club house sandwich and let me tell you, its best sandwich I ever had! Miss those days where there’s not much traffic lol
This is why research is important, thorough ones. I think it’s what’s missing in most videos now, since lahat na pwede magvideo and upload, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but it’s just refreshing to watch videos like this. As much as I want to gatekeep most of the places they featured, they deserve to be introduced to more people, to better understand and feel Baguio’s culture. Han nga ajay SM lang ti pappanan da. Great job, FEATR and Erwan! 🫡
Kudos Featr. Never fails to amaze me. Ito Yun mga content na pinag iisipang mabuti and matagalan Ang research. Plus Baguio has a special place in my heart and also to millions of Filipinos. The food the culture. Good job Sir Erwan. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 Filipino food forward!
Im a resident of Baguio. Indeed, the restaurants you featured truly represent the local's favorites. This is by far the best and most accurate food documentary of my hometown.
Thank you for featuring the good ole Luisa's Cafe in Session Rd. One thing i appreciate about the staff, is that they speak our Ibaloi dialect whenever possible..Truly one of the original restaurants of Baguio/Benguet..
just wanted to add that katipunan and most of the restaurants in that part of the city..(I don't like to mention, but around the dangwa terminal area), during the old days, is where they serve dog meat. I dont know but, ung sabaw ng karne ng aso, the taste, the smell..it's unique..you cannot compare to others like pork or chicken.. kaya may time talaga na hinahanap hanap ung lasa kc iba talaga..pero wala na..dati pag gusto mo makatikim, jan sa banda jan ka pupunta...
I miss the "secret" food being served in the Katipunan Inn area. Huge respect for featuring the local resto. I think you were the only one who featured them, especially the Katipunan Inn.
Sana kasi sa mga tourist support yun local shops. Umakyat ng Baguio tapos nag Jollibee. Di naman masama, kaso sayang yun experience. Sarap ng lokal na pagkain. Good job Featr. Power Monn Quizon Shout out!!!
there is something about Erwan's storytelling and even the treatment of his material here that appeals to me...like I can be in the place where he is, connect with the culture, and just soak in the simplicity of life. wow. kudos to everyone behind FEATR.
I'm a student in baguio city and this is actually a great representation of what the city has to offer but this is only the tip of the iceberg, you'll discover cooler spots as you explore. You might even have a go-to karinderya that will call you Ading and your usual order or a local bar that knows your usual drink and how many sticks of cigs.
Grew up in Baguio and Benguet in the 80’s, 90’s and remembering some of these local restaurants. Not sure if the others are still in business but reminiscing all these Highlander food that I’m craving. Having been here in the US for almost 30 years makes me appreciate for this kind of content featuring my hometown. Thank you FEATR, “matago tago kayo”
So fascinating to see Baguio on a different person's lens. All the areas you went to, I have been and been passing thru everyday, and i have never seen Baguio this colorful. Looking forward to your Mang Ed's story, he is my family's go to place to eat out... lots of love from a Baguio local ❤
As a local of the city, i can easily say that you did realy great in featuring the authentic side of Baguio. You featured places where some of the younger generations may not even know exists. You just made me missed home even more. Thank you!
As a full-blooded Igorot, I'm genuinely glad you got to try our authentic culinary and locally grown restos . It's nostalgic. You made me wanna go home Pinas.
Great content, FEATR team! It's so amazing how Baguio can sill be stand on its own name of being the summer capital of the Philippines at the same time can preserve its ethnic culture and heritage (food, museums, tourist) sites at this very modern age. Kudos to all!
I remember Baguio as a kid. The first time my family vaycayed there was when I first met my half sister. She was visiting from California, and her new husband had then rented a car and taken the entire family to Baguio. Tbh I hate that it's very crowded and tourist-central nowadays. My parents are from Burgos and Pangasinan, and yah, a lot of touristy things now
We always look forward visiting goodtaste restaurant everytime we we're in baguio. Thanks for featuring lokals! All the best Erwan!
As an aspiring creative, one of my dream projects would be to work with Sir Erwan's team because the narrative of your videos speaks volumes about the quality and work that you put into each project. This amazing feature of our beloved city won every Baguio locals heart. Agyaman kami and see you around! More power to FEATR.!
Nice! Took notes of the eccentric & cozy places you've visited. Nothing like the real old school Baguio. Please continue sharing your passion and the country's "forgotten" culture. You simply rock, Erwan!
Thank you, Erwan, for such a thoughtful piece. I haven’t been to Baguio in ages and now you’ve given me several reasons to go. I know you have a crew with you but seeing just you on screen makes it feel like it’s your personal journey. Good job!
What I like about this video is Featr reaching out to the locals who can showcase the authenticity of the place. Been to baguio few times but never knew this gems exist. Can't wait to visit Baguio again. ❤
I've been living here in Baguio for 4 years now and choosing to reside here I can say is the best decisions of my life. Never heard of the Katipunan though, but I'm excited to visit. ♥ Thanks for this very comforting vlog!
Born and raised here in 2600. Watching this video made me shiver with happiness. Baguio is where the weather is cold but the people are always warm. Dios ti Agngina FEATR. 😄
Thank you for walking me around. I like that you styled like a Baguio boy. Or maybe you just blend in naturally. You know how to position yourself so the featured place and people stands out. Those voiceovers in between and at the end were well written. I really heard, felt and almost tasted Baguio.👏 👏 👏
One thing i love about Erwan is he really appreciates and respects the tradition and culture behind the meals. And i also agree with the other comments that this video is accurate and well-researched, having parents who grew up in Baguio, they have been raving about these places. Love this, looking forward to more contents like this.
I felt the same thing with Baguio when I visited last year there is something mystic with the fog and the view of the mountains that makes time slow down for you to enjoy. Can’t wait to go back 👌🏻🙏🏼
Thank you for featuring the authentic and true face of baguio. You are able to shed to what is Behind those glamorous city lights and bustling streets of baguio.
It's so refreshing to see these underrated and low key cafes and simple restos featured here.. Because usually when you search for places to eat here in baguio, the usual result would be places which are more on the aesthetic side.. Sure people would like to look for restos with instagramable ambiance but for people, like the locals, that would rather prefer hearty and filling food, these places are the go to... It really represents the local people that prefer connections and memories thru food regardless the ambiance... And its really nice to feature these establishments because a lot of people, even young locals, don't know these places...
I know Erwan only said it in passing but the Pako salad made my mouth water and then become a bit emotional because back in Surigao, in my barangay where we live in the mountains, there's also an abundance of Pako and this made me so homesick. Love this video and I'll definitely visit these places if I come to Baguio city.
Being a native of Baguio, this video, its tone, theme and style speaks the nostalgia I feel for my hometown. It captures the images of Baguio I vividly remember whenever I think of home. It's become busier than ever, but it holds its charm and the proud culture for those who call it home. Man, I am so excited for your upcoming episodes on Baguio City. Also, you might notice that the city attracts not only swarms of tourists but also students from neighboring provinces...since you're on a food adventure, might I suggest you check out some of OG the food shacks that students have been frequenting (hopefully they're still there) around the university belt... my favorite being Soledad's near Saint louis University and try out their porkchop and bopis. LoL! Just ask taxi or jeepney drivers how to get there. You need to get there as early as 11am though, they sell out fast. Anywhooo... thank you for this feature team Featr. I appreciate your artistry and work. 💜
Thank you Erwan and FEATR for this very faithful representation of Baguio. As someone who hasn’t been home for years, this truly warms and comforts my heart. This is the Baguio I know. ❤
Love this. I lived in Baguio during my college days. Back then it was already crowded and busy, but probably not as much as now. So good to see these places. I recognized one of the journalists in Luisa's cafe as one of those who mentored me during my internship hehe.
Prolly one of my favorite FEATR vids. Thank you for showcasing what a whole lot more Baguio can offer. Those local restos deserve the attention and love from tourists. That’s what Baguio taste like!
Thank you for featuring our hometown. ❤Indeed all these are famous resto in our city. Also we have Oh my Gulay in La Azotea Bldg. Also a splendid work of Art in the city like Ililikha 😊.Love this! Missing my hometown Baguio City.🥰
After watching this I wanna just go to baguio right now. I miss Luisa's so much and just going to the market buy fresh veggies and whatever meat i can buy and then find a shop to quickly cook it for us.
I love seeing this documentary style of food and culture. I haven't been back in 15 years and this makes me so excited to explore more of the Philippines when I visit next. One that is not my family's POV of famous places, but small businesses and charming spots that make the city!
I’ve lived in Baguio for more than a decade, and there are still a lot of hidden gems and food places I haven’t gone and discovered. Thank you for exploring it for us. ❤
this channel is si underrated!!! and Erwan is so underrated! he is smart and the channel looks really deep into details and sure is well-researched. Im from the Cordilleras and the video gave me the vibes of it. other videos dont do that. and yes all those featured are the best in the area.... really.
In my 37 years here in my town/city good taste lang ako napunta hehe.. but anyway thank you erwan and company kahit in a tahimik way sumisikat ang mga pagkain nmin dto.. ❤❤❤
Erwan and Featr, thank you for featuring my hometown! I just realized how I take for granted that we can actually eat anytime, and all the time, all these food featured in this video. The restos and places. Yes, it is home. We are proud of our city, and our culture. Especially our Art Community, I am a part of it. 🌸 Just a fun fact: most of our food up here is meat. Fish is very expensive up here in the mountain! 😁😁 Love this vid! Thank you again.
Good job FEATR on doing a thorough research on these food places. These are legit restos/eateries where a Baguio local like me would consider as a place to find that authentic Baguio flavor that we always miss and reminisce about! These are truly Baguio gems that we treasure! 💙💙💙
Awesome thank you!
Featuring Louisa's Cafe is the highlight for a local like me. One of the few original restaurants in Baguio.
FEATR is so underrated. this kind of videos should go viral and gets spread for everyone.
Totally agree!
+1

@Meltot kaya po hindi siya recommended ng mga locals. punta ka na lang sa slaughter
Definetly a place to go for eating and vlogging? :D
wala na ba talaga nagseserve ng mga dog meat doon sa hilera ng katipunan?? 😅😅

Sa tagal ko dito sa Baguio eto yung nakita ko na talagang nagpakita ng kainan na panlasang baguio talaga. Kudos FEATR👍
The only content creator who really makes "content" with a lot of substance nowadays. Awesome work as always🥰
💯
I appreciate erwan for mingling so well with the local uncles 😊 one in a million.
And yes, he should be in Netflix 🙏🏼
He could definetly be on netflix!

It really represents the local people that prefer connections and memories thru food regardless the ambiance... And its really nice to feature these establishments because a lot of people, even young locals, don't know these places...
Dayta ah ti mayat nga istorya..
Authentic Baguio cooking....
Erwan really knows how to touch the soul of the places he visits, how does he do that? i don't know. all i can say is it's amazing.
No skipping of ads. Erwan deserves it! ❤❤❤
Thank you! I love how you uniquely tell the story of Baguio City. We need more of these kind of story telling reminding of the roots and heritage.

Love this. I lived in Baguio during my college days. Back then it was already crowded and busy, but probably not as much as now. So good to see these places. I recognized one of the journalists in Luisa's cafe as one of those who mentored me during my internship hehe.

Just a fun fact: most of our food up here is meat. Fish is very expensive up here in the mountain! 😁😁 Love this vid! Thank you again.
