@@DawnPeacock I was waiting for these plugins the day that ChatGPT came out! They’re just starting to launch some of these plugins. I’ll round up the best ones and make a video for language learners in the next week or so
@@JerryRegistre perfect. Look forward to it! My feeling about using ChatGPT for comprehensible input is this: ideally I’d rather see people take an authentic story and use AI to make it more accessible…rather than use an AI generated story. Do you have any thoughts about that?
@@DawnPeacock I think both have value. It’s pretty amazing to think that you can traverse the entire universe of human knowledge and weave from topic to topic for endless hours while practicing almost any language with generative AI (but then go out and talk to real humans please haha).
But it’s also nice to use AI to explore works already written by people (imagine chatting deeply about the plot of Cien años de soledad with AI)

It sneaks in there every once in a while. I've been trying to learn more Spanish from Mexico lately
I seem to be blind to the link for the plug in. I found one that could speak Spanish, but it constantly mispronounced the Spanish words and the accent was American, not Mexican or Spanish. It butchered the Spanish language.

Ideally you can do both! Practice with AI and then go speak to real people. I made a video on speaking to AI in my ChatGPT playlist 🙌🏽

Can it speak backwards?
In my experience chatgpt is horrible at pronouncing Spanish words. I asked it for 10 common phrases and to read them back to me. They included: como 'estes'; por 'favor' as in party favor; como te llamas, like the south american animal; and donde esta el ban-o.
PS: Jerry, I was using talk-to-chatgpt following the exact path you laid out. It understood me just fine, it just sucks at e-span-yole.
Are we all just gonna ignore the fact that Harry Potter is NOT a TRILOGY? 😅 ChatGPT may know Spanish very well but it doesn't seem to know how to count to three! 😉😉😉
