This video shows you how to install an intake manifold on your 2002-2005 Ford Explorer. The intake manifold is responsible for delivering the fresh outside air into the engine, and is also sometimes where the fuel is added to the air mixture. A cracked or leaking intake manifold can cause a variety of problems for your engine, and should be replaced.

I am SO DISSAPOINTED! This guy seems so nice and on the level. I was crushed to find out that after writing meticulous notes about this whole video, that the intake of my 2005 Ford Explorer did not match the one on the video and had different screws, and therefore different needs to be taken off. Maybe the 2005 "3rd gen" is different from my 2005 Ford Explorer RSC. I appreciate this guy making such beautiful videos and explaining things so well, I wish it could have aligned better for me today. I even bought extra tools for this job too, bummer.

Hi, do you have any idea why Ford has those long shafts on the valve cover bolts that stop you from using a normal socket on them.

now would this work on a 2008 ford explorer with a v6, or do i need to do this to gain access to fuel injector 1 to replace it. ive searched far and wide for a video on how to access that one part and cant find one with this exception thats remotely close to my engine layout. its so aggravating as i can see and touch the injector in its location, i can remove its connector but im not entirley sure just whats needed to remover the little bastard to replace it as when engines hot its causing misfire issues right now.

Mostly good - BUT you need to discus the difficulties with the rear t30 bolt, very tricky location. Also, not one word about the gaskets. You pretend like they are not even part of the project.
