- This is the full video of the 1969 Camaro I built for Kevin. I shot this the day the car was leaving for Minnesota. Currently the owner is considering selling. If the car interests you, shoot me a message.

69 was the sweetest year....I had 2 in my 60 years and man.......I wish I never sold them.....but family and houses are more important in life at the time.That was a lustful job sir.Yellow is underated and wow what a MEAN GROWL

Big Block Chevrolet engines are so good looking under the hood, for regular production motors. Better looking than a Hemi, or anything else other than exotics.
soyounoat I agree, I’m building a 70 challenger right now and trying to talk the owner into doing a hemi. They are the coolest looking engine. But we have a wicked 440 dual quad going in it right now
Doesn't get much better than that! ...
I'd be afraid of parking it anywhere for fear of door dings or vandals.

I can imagine a price tag of over 100k, It is epic just love the look of her. The SS is my second favorite car, after a 40 or 41 Willies coupe.

Dailied one of these (69 SS)in the late 80s most reliable car I ever owned and didnt baby it.
Still got a polaroid of it somewhere from one of those grocery store $10 throwaway cameras. lol
To the stick only guys, I prefer them too but with the little rubber and big tq that car has it would be a handful in any gear.
Pick a gear part throttle it becomes a rollerskate.
Have one in my 03 Avalanche. Now I know what to do with that effin torque monster. Great to see your Camero transplant. ++++

I don’t think they are bling rims necessarily they are torque rims and they give the car that awesome classic look

In the late 70's I bought one of these for $1500...It was nice but it only had a 327 engine in it......Never could get those hid-a-way headlight covers to work....Sold it in 1981 for $1800 because I wanted a new 1981 z28

With the fuel injection, about 675 hp.

Damn near perfect sounding motor car looks excellent my only complaint would be I dislike painted bumpers.
J. Simmons the endura bumper is a super rare option, and when I found a factory original one, I just had to do it. ThAnks for the comments, wait until you see the corvette I’m finishing right now .
@@grwiggy I did not know that 6 9 offered an Endura bumper I thought you had painted one or something. That is one badass car though.
J. Simmons So do I . We kept the chrome back number and also did the black out tail panel for a big block. I’m in the finishing phases of a 1969 corvette pro touring car with an ls motor and full ridetech suspension. I’ll shoot a video soon

Everything is perfect about this car the only thing that bothers me are the headlight covers.
The only thing that AWESOME machine is missing is a black vinyl top with appropriate chrome trim.
It was originally a vinyl top car, but the owner didn’t want to put one back on. I still have all the original trim

Sick. Always bugged me how so many of those ‘69’s had driver door issues. The bottom where it meets the quarter panel always sticks out slightly. Both my ‘69’s has the problem too
Jack Milton we spent hours and hours working on adjusting and finally just had to settle with what we could get. Now you know why pure show cars cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to build

I bought a 2015 Camaro SS convertible and the bottom of my door sits in a good 3/8 of an inch from the quarter panel. I should’ve never accepted the it that way from the dealership

496 must be rare ! Never knew about it .
It’s a 454 that’s been bored oversized. Not rare at all , just a great combination to build a lot of torque out of a big block
Try doing the same thing with a 572 Chevy engine... I have 4 69 cameros and 12 old trucks from 1948 TO 51 all with 572 ENGINES.

I'm installing power steering I'm mine ....a saginaw 700 box ...and I was told the Dougs 313r headers will work are those the headers you installed if not whos headers are you using ?
Yes they are Dougs headers, but I don't recall the exact part number and all the receipts are in the owners file. But they fit perfectly.
What color yellow? Its perfect

My Dad had one of these, but a 396, not the big block. His was white with a black vinyl roof. His had an automatic transmission. The car would just vibrate when you started it. He would let me drive it up and down our driveway. Wonder what it would be worth today.

@@reggierico The 396/427 blocks are different as the 427 has a larger bore size. The 454 is a 427 with a 396 crank.
@@L72Chevelle427 396 and 427 use the same 3.76 inch stroke crank . 427 and 454 use the same 4.25 inch bore blocks . and no , 427 and 454 pistons don't interchange , the wrist pins are in a different location in relation to the rings . connecting rods are the same for all three engines . 454 uses a 4 inch stroke crank .

How'd you like that fast fuel injection? Mines was a little on the rich side and I couldn't get it to go away.
Once the car got a few miles on it it seemed to run great. With that big of a motor, it never hurts to be a little rich. Our A/F always seems to be right on .

That all depends on how much you want to drive it. Pretty obvious you haven't driven a high HP hotrod. Unless you want to autocross it, a stick shift gets real old real fast.
@@grwiggy I've owned a 400 4spd Trans Am and a 350 automatic Vette. Both in the 350-400 hp range. Now unless you happen to be sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, for me the manual was a lot more fun to drive, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
@@jrb37300 Thats all I wanted to hear you say. Everybody has a preference. The owner of this car road trips it a lot. Manual wasn't the way to go.
