Can you cite your source for Pearl calling Maya "dark"? Maya Angelou's son states that Pearl referred to her as a "big ol' ugly girl" when rejecting her as an understudy for "Hello Dolly!", but made no mention of her insulting her skin tone. So far, you're the only person I've seen add in "dark". Of course it's a nasty insult regardless, but the insult you claim Pearl leveled is colorist, which makes it 10x worse. While Pearl did Maya Angelou a huge injustice by dismissing her based on her own opinion of her appearance, it's something else altogether to claim that Pearl was colorist, and another injustice is done to claim such when it's not at all true.
