What really stands out to me about this series is how they all, as a group, make being lovely and gentle very funny. It's not that I prefer this, just that it's extremely strange, especially for a panel show. Usually the standout seasons have one or two high energy people and everyone rises up to match them but here they even remain so lovely that it derails Greg's attempts to be an authoritarian at points, which is its own new treasure.
this is such a fun bunch, the final task is a proof of how weird their brains work. susan’s mischief task is one of my favorites, and it’s just the beginning of a certain facet of her personality coming out during this series :)
The genius of Sam Campbell the Taskmaster Contestant is that his naturally chaotic personality (he's really like that outside of the show) lends itself perfectly to a low-stakes gameshow like this. With higher stakes, it'd be irritating how unserious he's taking things; but stumbling backwards through this particular show is hilarious *because* of how low the stakes are. He's allowed to be himself in the best circumstances. I've seen him on other comedy shows (primarily Australian ones; his homeland) and his style of zaniness is identical. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex & the producers saw him and brought him to the UK specifically for this series because of how good a fit he's proven to be.
In Swansea there was a new licenced restaurant built next to the large duck pond. It was called 'The Inn on the Lake' we all called it 'The pub on the pond'. Eventually they renamed it the pub on the pond 😂😂
Julian wrote letters to Stephen Mulhern (a popular, friendly, fun, and prolific game show presenter), and Jacob Rees-Mogg is a Conservative politician (usual targets for Julian), known for being a very droll sounding facist with Victorian qualities and opinions (he took his 'Nanny' campaigning with him at the age of 27, and I believe has literally said people should "stop being poor"). Also find Sam and Lucy amazing to watch. Sam seems to either say something completly out of the blue, OR gives you the expected responce sarcastically. "Are you a child of divorce" in episode 1 was an instant classic moment. Lucy, meanwhile, I think might actually have ADHD, but she when her head jumps to a random topic or story while talking to her (something I experience with my ADHD), she leans into it and let's it take you on a weird journey. Sam and Lucy actually make such a great pair, they started a podcast called Lucy & Sam's Perfect Brains.
For what it’s worth, “Negative Gearing” is an Australian tax policy that allows losses from operating an investment property to be offset against income tax. I wasn’t sure if it was a thing outside Australia so I googled and apparently it exists in Canada, though it may have a different name so still worth commenting I guess?
Great reaction as usual. I have no doubt you would've gotten Widdicombe quickly. Your eagerness to see the Women's Institute clue says it all. (I remember you reacting to Only Connect) The 'James Bond' gadget Sam brought with him in the sword task I've seen him use in his stand up show. He had an egg on the end and dangled it over the audience (looked like tit was going to dribble, but it didn't so I'm pretty sure it was a fake egg). Yeah, he's definitively an odd one. And yet somehow Lucy is even odder.
Colorado and, I believe, several other states have 419.99 mile marker signs as people kept stealing the ones with the actual number on them. That'd be my submission for the prize task. Not the one with the actual number, but the "Mile 419.99" one. Which I'd have stolen. If it was just pictures of signs, though, as Julian submitted, it might be worth getting a picture of one of the signs advertising the McDonald's in the New South Wales town of Yass that consist of the golden arches forming the shape of an M followed by the name of the town in all caps. I think the Widdicombe sword task could only work when none of the competitors are fans of the show. John Robbins, Ed Gamble, or Richard Herring would have almost immediately recognised the foot or noticed his absence among the winners. The other clues were either less clear (anagrams) or hard to spot (roof) but easier for non-fans of the show.
Im curious if you knew of and had bought tickets for the live experience, although i appreciate it would need to involve you going to London which might not be in your plans.
@NeilTalks good luck!! I was dithering but the way you talk about the show I'd be really curious to see how you'd perform. I'm a quizzer and a fan of the Crystal maze and equally curious how I'd do. It's travel for me too, but only from the north.
I know it's already been suggested to you from the latest series but I think that you'd really enjoy an episode from the last series of Inside Number 9 - Ctl-Alt-Esc.
Sorry that you've been having trouble with copyright! I watch every taskmaster reaction you upload no matter how many times 😊
Me too! Can't get enough.
very much appreciated. :)
I know right. Let’s all write to endamol or whoever does it to explain about Fair Use.
@@travelwell6049 tbf they make their show completely and fully available on a free platform.

Sue Perkins had Alex Lolly-Gagging during the mischief task. Such a Sue thing to do.
Just wanted to say thank you for struggling through the stupid copyright issues! I continue to be glad that you are back with every new upload 😊

Power to the people 😂
Hey Neil, saw Sam's stand up recently. Very chaotic, exhuberant, weird, clever, often hilarious, always fascinating seeing how his brain works.
Susan is super fun and a bit mad... Unfortunately (or not) for her, Sam and Lucy are even weirder 🤣🤣🤣🤣 one of my favorite series.
"Am I supposed to know his name...? I've always liked him."
“I won’t hear a word against him.”
Still better than "that man with the teeth".

It's the same nanny who takes care of his ever growing brood to this day. Most likely still breastfeeds him, too.
Is Sam neurodiverse?

I thought it was actually something to do with gear ratios, this makes much more sense.
@@AzimovTube Now it makes MORE sense? 😂
"The one with the teeth" is also the way me and my sister describe him, whenever we forget the name.
Peter McDonald is Julian's middle names.
There was a town in Austra called F*cking (now Fugging) where the sign got stolen so often, they changed the name.
If you think you’re wrapping your head around Sam, you’re not
One of James Acaster's prize task entries was a portrait of himself drawn by Sam Campbell.
Great contestants on this series .
Great reaction as usual.

Deploying Avalon deflectors, hopefully they work.
Crossing my fingers...
Theres a team task this series which is probably the greatest task in the history of the programme.
Lucy is just ridiculously adorable
WHAAAAAAAAAAT? Oh, this is fantastic news. Awesome to see you back!!

thx for soldiering on through the copyright claim massacre.
If you saw Lucy on Would I Lie To You, you’d remember it. :-)
Josh did “who do you think you are?” or some geniality programme. Anyone who knows him would have have known his connection to King whoever it was.
I think you're right about the timers, and they could have just let them run out.
Josh widdicomb did an episode of who do you think you are where it came up he was related to Henry viii
Will you be returning to Fringe at some stage?
Some Australians were saying that Sam's negative gearing didn't get the reaction it should have.
Stephen Mulhern is a tv presenter, mostly of game shows
Yay you're back!!!!!!!!
Love the T-Shirt!! Is that chopper?
Lucy Beaumont was on QI, she deeply confused Sandy, lol. You might have seen her there
Im curious if you knew of and had bought tickets for the live experience, although i appreciate it would need to involve you going to London which might not be in your plans.
I'm on the waitlist. If I get selected, then I'd seriously consider making the trip. Maybe I could meet up with a bunch of all of you too!

lucy and sam have a pod cast forget the name of it but its very weird and fun
Lucy & Sam's Perfect Brains
Other TM reactors seem to get around copyright with overlays and stuff
You shoukd watch Jazz Emus song Eggerson Keaveney starring Sam Campbell as Eggerson😂
What tickles your fancy when you choose your title?
Interesting question! I usually decide while I'm editing. And it's almost always a case of I know it as soon as I hear it (again.).
not suited for the game?! Mate, Lucy isn't suited for planet Earth!
Not continuing The Expanse?
Would like to see a live Task , if there a tiebreak at the End , feel would be more fair
Stephen Mulhern is an annoyingly chipper game show presenter and magician.
Personally thought Sam was the saving grace of this series. I knew of the other contestants but they did nothing for me this series
Why have you been reposting so many videos. We get all excited, only to find it’s one we’ve already watched ?
Obviously, it's copyright 😒
This one's not been posted yet, episode 1 was,and then taken down
Think. Take 5 seconds to really think about why someone else's content might have to be taken down.
