    My installation was not trouble free. No water came out and we had to call customer service. The solution was to drop a coin into the bottom of the pre filter canister to elevate the filter so a connection could be made. I don't like adding metal to the filtrations system, but the rep is sending out a new filter that will fit without the coin shim.

Seems like the coin was just a temporary solution while they ship you out a fresh set of filters. The coin won't be contacting the water that is filtered, system will be filtering as usual.     The link/scan for this site should be on the first page the install book. The plumber had to install 2xs and this video explained it to ME easily.

    Does the 24-hour flush have to be repeated every time the filters are replaced?

      Hello Grant,
      Thank you for your question and interest in Aquasana! The Reverse Osmosis System does not require a 24-hour flush with every filter change. This will only be required upon the initial installation and once a year with the membrane filter replacement.

    You want us yo drill a hole at 5:49 yet you don’t want us to drill through. How are we supposed to make a hole if we can’t drill through the pipe?

      We are sorry if the video caused some confusion. At the 5:49 mark in then video, instructions ask to drill a hole on the one side of the pipe. Not puncture through to where you make 2 holes. We know sometimes even videos can be confusing, but we are here to assist with any questions you may have.

    it will take 2 hours to build pressure. It says to use this time to check the leaks. After these words, the hand on the video turned off the faucet?! Should we keep the water running for 2 hours to build the pressure and check leaks or turn it off???

    Does the 24 hour purge also purge the re-minilizer or is that to be detached during? Also, we are currently doing our 24-hour purge and water is barely coming out. Also forgot to do the bleach step... does that matter?

      Hi there! The Remineralizer shoulld be installed before flushing the system.
      The water pressure will vary will flushing your RO, as the water tank refills every time you complete a flush.
      Adding bleach to your tank like instructed in the Owner's Manual is important as it sanitizes the inside of the water tank.

    When I installed the faucet, the spacer underneath the counter top is too tall. It does not leave enough thread for the white quick connector to be fully threaded in. I think you guys can design a shorter spacer to accommodate some thick counter tops. Shorter space should also work for thinner counter tops. You can just tight the nut a few more rounds. I had to cut my spacer to make it work and it is not easy to cut.

    Can you install the RO system directly to the primary faucet? ie not have to use the brass T

      Thank you for your question! The faucet included with the Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum is expertly designed to work with our reverse osmosis system. Any other Aquasana faucet or faucet from another filtration system not designed to work with a reverse osmosis system will not be compatible with the Aquasana OptimH2O Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® and may cause damage to your filtration system.

    Can any sink be adapted to add the faucet? I was just gifted one of these but I didn’t know I’d need an additional faucet spot. I just have a standard sink. Please advise

      Great question! The faucet may be mounted by drilling a hole into your sink/countertop.     We installed the same way but didnt have bleach so didnt use bleach for purging, instead flushed the tank 2-3 times. Is that okay ?

      Thank you for reaching out. Sanitization is a highly important part of the RO installation. We recommend proceeding with steps included in the manual along with the bleach step. After this has been completed, the sanitization step will be finalized.

    Hi, my water tank is always empty. and after 2 weeks using it the water does not come anymore. could you help maybe you are familiar with the issue?
    it happened during the first purchase, I thought the item defects and I replaced the item with the new one. but looks like it's not defected item it is something related to installation.

    Why does the RO waste go in and out of the faucet, rather than straight to the drain?

      @@aquasana I understand that It works that way, I'm asking why. Why does the faucet need to be involved in disposing wastewater?

      Thank you for your response. Due to the fine nature of Reverse Osmosis filtration, the faucet will send some water to the drain. To continually produce water, the RO membrane repeatedly sends the impurities to the drain.

    What is the waist gallon output for this system I..e how much waist water per clean water ratio

      Also, do I have to disinfect my pressure tank if I add a uv lamp under my sink as the last stage of filtration.

    did this say to let water flow for 24hrs before use?!! Someone's paying for that water or your septic tank will warn you of incoming trouble. Am I crazy to think that?

      That's a great question, thank you for reaching out. We instruct you to flush the filter for 24 hours to ensure that no scaling or contaminants are stuck inside the reverse osmosis membrane. We recommend using the flushed water for watering your plants or lawn!

    We have a heat vent under the under sink cabinet. The result is luke warm water!! Anybody ever wrap the tank with any kind of insulation?

      Thank you for reaching out. We do not recommend to insulate the RO System. This provides quick and easy access to the unit for maintenance.
      Because the heating vent is near your unit, the water will continue to heat up. We highly recommend to separate the RO System from the heating vent to prevent this.
      Depending on your existing skills and experience, we recommend seeking the assistance of a certified licensed plumber.

    the constant problems and lack of functionality of this product is insane. I been buying the filters and was instructed by your operator to use a quarter to make it work. This is a scam. I been having same problem for over 2 yrs. Im done
