Paul was elegant, gifted, soulful, excellent, talented, singer in class by himself gone too soon definitely is missed...love always Paul Williams Sr...
This had to be from '67. What a great performance !!! 5 magically talented individuals making one great sound. Could you ever get tired of hearing the Temps ? I can't.
Profiles in Pittsburgh 🖤💛🖤🖤 Thanks for Sharing the Temptations Group Forever Video, at The Palace Theatre. Love watching the Dancing. Thanks Brother Paul Williams.Sister Forever 😘 Nora Rose 🌹
Paul had the best voice and was the most versatile. Had he been in better health due to having sickle cell he would have had an incredible solo career. That man was born to sing and dance.
WOW!.. I had NO idea that the Temptations did a version of this song.. Paul Williams as SO underutilized... (Nothing against David or Eddie by ANY means).. WOW..
The Classic Five, at the height of their performing prowess during the Golden Age of Motown, circa 1967. Paul, reminding the world that his voice and choreography were long the solid foundation of their one of a kind sound, and style. E.K., angelic as ever in his demeanor, as well as his silky smooth falsetto. Ruff'...always the quintessential showman. Even as he emerges from the background to take the lead. Blue, "basso profundo", forever just happy to be in the mix, anchoring the harmony and dancing his heart out. And, of course Otis. The harmonic waypoint for all of the background vocal accompaniments; so sweet they even brought tears to the eyes of men, as well as women. In four short years, they set the bar, thrilled the world, and pressed The Temptations' indelible stamp on the true meaning of Sweet Soul Music. Even though singers change and music evolves, they will never be eclipsed. No matter the number of cover groups Otis, or anyone else puts together to extend their legacy. Rest in peace those who are no longer with us. Your music and your presence helped make Detroit, Hitsville, USA something special, and the world a better place because of it. 🎤👓🎩👞 🎤🎩👞🎤🎩👞🎤🎩👞🎤🎩👞

I've seen the part of this video of David Ruffin singing I Wish It Would Rain -- I've wondered what the song they sung before, because you can see Paul Williams walking away from the mic... thank you.

WALMART is running an ad on tv right now using this song "the Best Things in Life are Free ". Shazam it and Google it - and it says it's Sam Cooke, but it sounds to me like Paul and the Temptations. I've listened to Sam Cooke's original version and of course - he nailed it. But I think the WALMART ad is using Paul's version and not realizing it. If I'm wrong I stand Firm in thinking "THIS" "version by the Temptations with Paul leading - in his prime-- is -- to me -- the BEST !!
Paul’s voice is strong and comforting. Just beautiful.
I know his was a good looking man!😎
Yes it was
Paul was the foundation of the temptations. Sickens me that he was so taken for granted .

Although both versions are excellent, the Walmart commercial is Sam Cooke.☺
grifitti the Walmart commercial is the legendary Sam Cooke and he absolutely did it the best😉
they performed this (Best Things in Life) on the TElevision show and album "The Temptations Show with Dennis. I never heard it before now with David.

Yes him and his wife definitely was a power couple. She's still looking good now at her age. Don't even look half her age.
@@terranesha5784 who's wife is still looking good at this time?🤔😅🤔
don't look half her age hmmmm can't wait till I find out who
Can you imagine Paul Williams accompanied by the Stax Records studio band?
True. No naked women to distract from the histrionics.
Therlow Foy real talent does not need extra
..
Nice. :)
paul had a voice like sanatra!
Ms Marlo Rice he was better than frank dare I say.
Paul Williams sung Frank Sinatra like songs extremely well. IMO
The title should say The Temptations: The Best Things In Life Are Free & I Wish It Would Rain (1967)
I've seen the second half of this in color I know someone has it in their collection lol please upload it 🥰😅
0:12 sweet
❤
I didn't know Jimmy D. Had a show!
Linda Hines He was hosting the tv show called The Hollywood Palace.
No Sam Cooke was the original. He sang it long before the Temps. And they knew that ...
if they tried this on America's the X-Factor, they would not make the cut:(
Is this a temptation song? I thought it was sam cooks
