14:34 Mikhail had a hell of a lot of survivor's guilt because in original RE3 when he kills a group of zombies he tells Jill he feels guilty that he's alive but his men got killed. But he goes out a hero sacrificing himself to blow Nemesis off the tram with a grenade to save Jill and Carlos.
I feel like he was a much better character in the original and his death was great. In the remake he basically just stops being in it, it was nowhere near as good.
You said Ethan died twice in the same game, but truthfully he died in RE7. We just didn't know about it until RE8. But as Ethan holds his daughter watching his own limbs crumble as his final death approaches is saddest to me. He knew in his final moments he'd never get to see his daughter grow up. But the Bakers were super sad, too. Jack and Marguerite were clearly kind people. The fact that Jack so readily and quickly just attempted to rescue a hurt child and bring her into his own home showed his kind heart.
Ok but as someone who lost her father at a young age, watching Ethan's death and Rose visiting his grave was like a punch to the gut. I cried during that 😭
28:27 Excella wasn't tragic though. She got what she deserved for helping Wesker experiment on the people of Kjuju, using Jill as a brainwashed bodyguard for her and Wesker, helping him create Uroboros and deluding herself that Wesker loved her.
I really liked Excella honestly lol she was awful, grade A villain. Until she thought Wesker liked her. I audibly groaned and lost some respect for her.
The tragedy is that she saw herself as the "Queen" of the new world Albert was building. What broke that dream was the key to her new life with her would-be "King": Uroboros.
@@CanoaSnowre3 nemesis is my favourite game the remake is ok it’s outshone by the RE2 remake it feels like capcom just focused so much more on it than re3 if they’d have put in the same effort in Re3 we could have gotten a truly great remake instead of just an ok one because re3 nemesis is better than re2 imo
Honestly, while many deaths in the series made me feel pretty down, losing out a great character, the only one that hit me hard was Piers. Idk why exactly that was, but I just couldnt help but tear up. He was so close to escaping, but the virus was taking over him and after everyone Chris lost, I really wanted Piers to survive. And then with one final gesture of his humanity, Piers saves Chris twice literally seconds apart, condemning himself to his fate of dying. It hurts a lot
@@angelinacole1547 it's the sad truth cause he could have got out, but he was turning pretty quickly. At the point that he ejected Chris is was mere seconds away from fully becoming another one of the mindless zombies and used his last minutes/seconds of humanity to save Chris and in tandem, the world Piers was a true hero
For me it’s BSAA Bravo Team Leader Marco Rose in re6. As far as BSAA members go he lived through more than most, surviving fighting the giant snake only to be killed by Carla soon after. What makes it worse is there’s a family member of his hiding at the Tall Oaks church level in Leon’s storyline that brags about him coming to rescue them.
I love this video! An amazing one and I really miss some characters that have passed. Donna didn’t deserve it. I feel like William and Annettes relationship was destroyed by umbrella and they both died tragically. Their relationship destroyed by work. Also poor Lisa trevor. I feel so bad for her. Umbrella is so horrid.
Hands down, Mikhail's last stand in the original is better. The music, intensity and the Nemesis still taking very little damage from it make it more compelling. Mainly because in the original, Jill and everyone who crosses Nemesis at this point is rightly scared of him. In the remake everyone belittles Nemesis and acts like he's an annoyance. There's just so much more gravitas in the original.
I liked RE3R but I 100% agree. They really dropped the ball with Nemesis in that game. OG Nemesis remains hands down the most frightening character in RE imo and Jill’s victory over him makes her the series lead badass. By the end of the OG game, love how her fear is flat out gone and she just wants to end the bastard. Finishing off Nemesis in OG RE3 was very satisfying.
Yeah the original Mikhail vs Nemesis was great, also the fact that we knew how injured he was at that point. Though I do like his portrayal in RE3 Remake as well and how he was very suspicious of Nikolai
RE6 should be among the saddest of the RE games for what happens to all the members of Chris's team not just Piers but for all the fallen BSAA members that fought for the greater good. It still makes me sad thinking about how much Chris has lost in this game. Hope RE9 will touch upon what's happening currently with the BSAA and their methods from RE Village.
@@HeYDeVuH I agree for sure😁 it would be interesting to see maybe the events of RE6 could play a part in their methods now and that could be why Chris doesn't trust them anymore? Just an idea. Plus it also would be cool to see Ada come back into the story and with Jill and Barry as well
I saw a video stating that it a was a promo for RE9 but I didn't believe it much because it seemed to dark and kind of Dark Souls like to be Resident Evil. If I find the link I'll reply with the link
None of the deaths in Chris campaign had an impact on me. The whole campaign just felt like such a parody and I was actually looking forward to that one BSAA agent who kept simping over Chris getting the ax. That guy was just a ridiculous character lol
I definitely think the bioterror attacks in Edonina and china have a massive part in why the BSAA have started using BOW troops seeing as their guys were getting hammered by them in RE6
Brad’s original death was very haunting and sad for me. But it was necessary so that we can see what a real threat Nemesis was. Too bad they didn’t keep it in r3make because it was very impactful.
Many people say that Ethan is the most bland character of RE franchise. I disagree. I think Ethan is one of the best ones, because for me when I play RE 7 or when I will play RE 8 in the future it feels like Ethan is me. I feel like Ethan is THE PLAYER that's why during RE 7 I felt like all that was happening was happening not to some character from the game, but to me. Maybe it was because 1st person perspective. But definately Ethan Winters is not this paper character many people say he is. After Jill he is my favourite or maybe even he is my number 1 character. Also RE 7 is the first RE game I have ever finished and recently got platinum but still I felt that way even during my first playthrough.
Yeah I agree, I'm playing through RE7 right now for the first time, and I actually feel like I'm in Ethan's situation as opposed to just playing a character going through the situation. I've never beaten any of the REs other than Gun Survivor, Dark Chronicles and Umbrella Chronicles. Then puzzles always threw me for a loop, or I simply just didn't have enough ammo to get through an area
Also, given from what I see of Ethan in the gameplays of RE7 and 8, Ethan got sucked into the events because of events outside his control, such as his wife's disappearance, and his daughter's abduction. Of course he's going to go on a mission, those people are dear to him. Idk why people think that's bland. I personally find Ethan admirable as a character because of what he's willing to do for those he loves, even if the supposed threat to them is a former friend, as we see in the beginning of RE8, when Chris kills who Ethan believed to be Mia and takes Rose.
To me there's a lot of tragic deaths to me: Dr. James Marcus ( Was betrayed) The Trevors ( were betrayed) Annette Birkin Mikhail Victor ( sacrificed himself) The Baker Family ( were innocent) Donna Beneviento ( just a lost soul being abused)
Annette's death ain't even sad. She had it coming. Imagine that she supported her husband's experiments on people with the G virus and they were planning to sell it, knowing it would kill thousands if not millions. When the outbreak happened she left her daughter abandoned with a psycho cop, and then gave her away to two complete strangers and gave them the task of killing the monster and finding a cure.
Richard Aiken, for some reason always affected me. His willingness to sacrifice his health for his team, and the brutal ways he dies are just cruel. I kinda wanted a reboot with him as one of the protagonists.
Pretty sure they are canon. At least one is. A news story can be found in the beginning of 7 written by Alyssa Ashcroft. So it's confirmed at least she survived
Yeah it was sad to see them go, unless if somehow we get to see Steve Back, From what I remember Wesker did mention Steve at the end of the game as well.
One point that is important to remember I think is that Excella was doomed to die regardless, Wesker didn't really betray her. If he had succeeded and Uroborous had been released on the world it would have still rejected her and she would have still died takes away a little bit of the tragicness for me on her part. By far the saddest death for me personally was Steve's, I loved him as a character and was reduced to tears at his fate in the end he promised he would save Claire next time and he kept his promise to her and in his dying moments got to tell her how she truly felt about him.
That's what's always confused me as well, I'm glad someone else pointed it out. How was exposing Excella to Uroboros a betrayal? Unless she's planning to live in an underground bunker the rest of her life, she was bound to be exposed to it _that very night,_ since she was planning on helping to release the virus/parasite. Wesker just sped it up a bit. He didn't know what would happen; she might have survived. Either way, she would have been exposed to it and the outcome would have been the same, so where is the betrayal?
Agreed on both cases, a lot of the Stars Members were taken out in the Spencer Mansion also the final fight of Mikhail vs Nemesis was great in the original
As minor as they are the fates of the two Blue Umbrella soldiers that Joe Baker misblamed for what happen to Zoe near the beginning of the DLC senario End of Zoe in Resident Evil 7 brought a personal tear to my eye. Seriously they really just trying to help Zoe only for Joe Baker to go ape s&@t and knock them out, and dragg one of them back to cabin and pretty much got treated like a animal for something he didn't even do, before getting torn in half by a mutated Jack Baker. They were trying to do the right thing only to wind up victims themselves, that's injustice to highest degree.
Donna Beneviento should have had a second chance at life, her entire life had been tragic. I hate that mother Miranda took advantage of her vulnerability
First saddest death for me was Steve in CV. After playing 4, Luis was next. Then comes 6, Piers gave me tears. After playing 7, I just felt guilty for killing the Bakers after finding out the truth and the DLC. But Ethan's death takes the cake on most tragic and saddest death that I shed tears...like he died just so Mia and their baby could be saved. 😭
I hated Steve. I thought his character was lame and was a knock off of the Romeo Juliet/Titanic era version of DiCaprio. Him falling in love with Claire after spending 15 minutes together made zero sense.
How can someone take Ethan seriously? Lol Ethan is the worst charecter in the series and i hope capcom doesn't continue Ethan's story i hope he stays dead and i hope this is the end of Ethan's story capcom should bring back Leon , Jill and the other characters that the true resident evil fans love and know not this Ethan or Mia or Rose bulshit i hope these characters don't return on re9
I don’t think his is the saddest, but if you go outside canon, Richard seems the most screwed. He dies by poison, being eaten by a snake, or gets killed by a shark
romance? what romance? Unless I am remembering CV wrong all steve did was stare at claire's ass and then try to kiss her while she was asleep, I'd hardly call that romance.
Steve tried to kiss her while she was asleep and kept making predatory advances to her the whole time. Not really romance. Just some horny loser obsessed with Claire

But thanks to the new DLC you realize Ethan died 4 times. 1. At the baker house 2. Getting his heart ripped out 3. In the explosion 4. In the mold after he says goodbye to Rose after killing Miranda again
the original death of brad vickers from resident evil nemesis that got changed to waaaaay lesser effect in the remakes. honestly i think that scene is by far the one i most remember in the entire series just cuz of how impactful it was.
Tyrell's death in the remake didn't make the list but i was really sad when he died. idk, something about "you saved me" "I sure as shit didn't" was just so endearing to me! it was so human, like realistically human compared to the super soldiers running around. not that he was a coward or anything, he still stepped up when he needed to, but just that moment made him so likeable to me even though he wasn't in the game that much
I think their deaths were important. It gave the players motivation to continue on. That emotional feeling of lost, in any shape or form, you can’t forget. Resident Evil really give us players, role of the hero who is against all odds, to achieve the impossible and defeat the evil. Truly a good game. Before resident evil 6 right?
Man... I just remembered how it's nearly a total wipe for all of STARS in RE0 and RE1. Half the Alpha team, and all but one member of Bravo. RIP STARS. Edit: I see people always making videos about the acting they don't like in the first several games, but how can you say that when RE0 through RECV all had so many sacrifices and painful deaths for the characters?
Evelyn I felt bad for her…she was such a tragic villain..she was created a living weapon used, manipulated and abused all she wanted was a family. She was just a kid on the inside. She never had anyone she was all alone her whole life. No one ever loved her, no one ever cared for her.
Steve was annoying but he grew on me so his death hurt. Claire is still traumatized by Rockford Island to this day. Even 13 years later in Revelations 2. "Guns are more reliable than any person", and she looked at Neil with disgust and wsnted to kill him, because it reminded her of Steve, only he was nothing like Steve. Steve stopped his reanimated body from killing Claire after involuntarily being given a virus, whereas Neil betrayed her and wanted Uroburos.
You missed my personal saddest death in RE2. (Original) It's when Sherry Birkin is witnessing the death of her own mother. That was hard to watch. No one deserves that.
Technically from an impactful standpoint, I think the most notable death was that of Albert Wesker, for me I don't think the series has had such an epic villain since, but that is just me
Why do so many civilians with partial or little military training survive against umbrella who is a mega international company with many pies at their beckoning call and disposal against us the players
That's exactly why they survived, they were underestimated, they weren't seen as a threat and some of them even had some kind of training (of course not as much as other umbrella mercenaries) but enough to survive. Even more if they were lucky which is the case obviously.
Marvin & Forrest. Both had me in my feelings 😔 I felt bad for Richard but atleast his death was quick. He didn't suffer no where as much as Marvin & Forrest. Imagine the crows eating away at your body.
The biggest tragity to me will always be Raccoon City's destruction, 100,000 + citizens died in order to cover up the U.S. military accepting Umbrellas viruses and B.O.W.'s, it's something out of the Resident Evil series I'll never forget ✊
Maybe it’s because I saw them most recently in the remakes, but Ethan and Marvin’s deaths were the saddest to me. Ethan is said to be plain but I think he’s a great protagonist actually. Steve’s is also sad since he had some semblance of consciousness left… That voice acting is so painful though. 🥲
I wouldn't have put Ada's death on here. Because she didn't really die not in the original or the remake. And she appears once again in resident evil 4 working for Wesker
man Piers went out sad .. but he did it for his team and he knew he wasn't gonna make it which is even more sad 😭💔 that's exactly why he stayed after he fought him and Chris fought thr B.O.W 💯
i love that "i never saw him again" line of dialogue. it makes playing RE0 worth it so it can play in your head at the end of any game with a new side character.
Jack baker in re7 as a normal, innocent man reminds of my papa/grandpa so it definitely just makes me want to hug jack and never let go cause I think he needs it
Donna is in the thumbnail, which I though would mean she would be mentioned, sadly, she was not. But I would say Donna XD Mostly because I watched the end of this video because I am more familiar with the last two games.
I have played every RE game that has come out and Evelyn was the saddest for me, she never had a chance at what she wanted the most a Family. Not to mention she was brought into existence as nothing but a bioweapon, experimented on and in the end never had a chance at a true life.
How is Barry in the cave with Jill and also present when she finds Forest's body? I've never encountered those cutscenes with Barry in all my playthroughs.
Probably had to trigger all the other prior ones before hand. I have encountered the Barry scenes at least once in all my time playing REmake. Not necessarily in the same playthrough though. I know the Barry one for Forrest you gotta go get his GL as soon as you are able to unlock the area.
Barry in the cave with Jill is a fan made scene. It's not in the game. However, to trigger the Barry Forest cutscene, you have to get the armor key right after the sword key. That means no Jill sandwich cutscene before the trigger and you should only stay on the second floor.
Brad earned bad karma points for leaving his allies behind but he didnt deserve that and Marvin was just sad Also original nemesis is beast the remake one feels like an annoying miniboss more than anything
lol that moment when the giant lady slized his whole hand off as he was pulling that switch. and he proceeded to reatach it wile pouring a bottle of water on it or something. And it healed in seconds. lol I was like yea, nope... Definitely not human. And then later on, your body is nothing but mold lmao. That tickled me.
You said it perfectly. Also yeah I found that moment very telling, because there was no way Ethan can sustain all these injuries and not have any reasons why he's able to recover so fast.
Barry Burton is the saddest death if you don't return his gun in the remake (or wait for him to return with rope in original) he dies at the end and leaves behind a file to his young daughters
I wonder what Resi would be like for a pet dog, seeing your owners die, having to run from everyone, trying to befriend survivors that die for you, yeah that would suck, poor Bow wow, getting teary thinking bout it
I always wanted some more Rachel content. As an operative not an ooze... pretty sad end. As for zero missed opportunity, it was originally intended to fill in the blanks but kind of totally ignored the Beta team. Rebecca was also turned into Sarah Conner by the end of the game only to revert to scared teen by the time she meets Chris. I would love to see this remade but with sweeping changes, allowing us to play the rest of the team. Pretty sure the next RE game will be PheonIX, so guessing Ethan can return. Finally did anyone ever miss Steve?

14:34 Mikhail had a hell of a lot of survivor's guilt because in original RE3 when he kills a group of zombies he tells Jill he feels guilty that he's alive but his men got killed. But he goes out a hero sacrificing himself to blow Nemesis off the tram with a grenade to save Jill and Carlos.
I feel like he was a much better character in the original and his death was great.
In the remake he basically just stops being in it, it was nowhere near as good.
@@00pugsly48 there were a lot of better things in 99 lol
You said Ethan died twice in the same game, but truthfully he died in RE7. We just didn't know about it until RE8. But as Ethan holds his daughter watching his own limbs crumble as his final death approaches is saddest to me. He knew in his final moments he'd never get to see his daughter grow up. But the Bakers were super sad, too. Jack and Marguerite were clearly kind people. The fact that Jack so readily and quickly just attempted to rescue a hurt child and bring her into his own home showed his kind heart.
He did die twice in RE:V. When Miranda took his heart, He did die. And at the end of game where he explodes/turns to dust.
He’s a true Louisiana boy I’m just sad his son is a bastard
Ok but as someone who lost her father at a young age, watching Ethan's death and Rose visiting his grave was like a punch to the gut. I cried during that 😭

28:27 Excella wasn't tragic though. She got what she deserved for helping Wesker experiment on the people of Kjuju, using Jill as a brainwashed bodyguard for her and Wesker, helping him create Uroboros and deluding herself that Wesker loved her.
I really liked Excella honestly lol she was awful, grade A villain. Until she thought Wesker liked her. I audibly groaned and lost some respect for her.
yes but she ate 💅the queen
The tragedy is that she saw herself as the "Queen" of the new world Albert was building. What broke that dream was the key to her new life with her would-be "King": Uroboros.
Definitely
Piers' death is the sad one for me. Mostly because of how Chris reacted
I must also add. Even though he is short lived. RE4 fans will forever mourn Mike and his Chopper.
Mike was the goat
Why did you have To remind me of mike 😭

Ethan's death was the most personal for me. I lost a child and I would have done what he did in a second to save them.
I’m very sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss good to see your humanity and heart were strengthened we can only hope that any other father would do the same
Honestly, while many deaths in the series made me feel pretty down, losing out a great character, the only one that hit me hard was Piers.
THIS !! i literally cried when Piers died. "i did it for the BSAA" 🥺💔 like you didn't have to friend .. you could've got outta there ☹️
@@angelinacole1547 it's the sad truth cause he could have got out, but he was turning pretty quickly. Piers was a true hero
7 months too late but YES
Yeah Lisa Trevor was a sad case, Umbrella and everyone involved with the Spencer Mansion was just Evil.
Absolutely. The original nailed it, I was disappointed by the remake.
@@HeYDeVuH facts he wasn't suspicious of him in the original but very suspicious in the remake
Why couldn't they do a bit of both, make mikhail a badass and make nemesis a threat.
“I see the president equipped his daughter... with ballistics”
Very true and that would be great to see what is going on in BSAA. With the way things are going we may see a traitor inside the organization.
To be fair, killing Brad hardly makes you feel threatening. I love Brad but he was easy prey for the beast.
He deserved it for leaving them in RE 1 LOL
@@SuperCuttyBlackSow hey in his defense, he did come back for them and threw them a rocket launcher to help destroy the tyrant in RE1 lol
To me there's a lot of tragic deaths to me:
Dr. James Marcus ( Was betrayed)
The Trevors ( were betrayed)
Annette Birkin
Mikhail Victor ( sacrificed himself)
The Baker Family ( were innocent)
Donna Beneviento ( just a lost soul being abused)
Annette's death ain't even sad. She had it coming.
Imagine that she supported her husband's experiments on people with the G virus and they were planning to sell it, knowing it would kill thousands if not millions. When the outbreak happened she left her daughter abandoned with a psycho cop, and then gave her away to two complete strangers and gave them the task of killing the monster and finding a cure.

Pretty sure they are canon. At least one is. A news story can be found in the beginning of 7 written by Alyssa Ashcroft. So it's confirmed at least she survived
There is a Easter egg in RE3 remake where one of the characters can be heard speaking though a police radio trying to call for help
I always thought Marvin's and Steve's death were tragic they fought well but unfortunately fate was against them!😔
Yeah it was sad to see them go, unless if somehow we get to see Steve Back, From what I remember Wesker did mention Steve at the end of the game as well.
@@HeYDeVuH It would be cool to see him make a return!👍
RE3 Original was better than RE3 Remake. RE1 Remake IMO had the saddest deaths.
Agreed on both cases, a lot of the Stars Members were taken out in the Spencer Mansion also the final fight of Mikhail vs Nemesis was great in the original
re3 original is easily my favorite of the series. hard agree lol
the REmake3 was awful game.
Why was Donna's face in the thumbnail? I wish she didn't die, she didn't even try attacking Ethan other than her Hallucinogenic plants
Donna Beneviento should have had a second chance at life, her entire life had been tragic. I hate that mother Miranda took advantage of her vulnerability
She did go through a lot, it was sad that she lost her parents while she was young

Edit: I see people always making videos about the acting they don't like in the first several games, but how can you say that when RE0 through RECV all had so many sacrifices and painful deaths for the characters?
Evelyn I felt bad for her…she was such a tragic villain..she was created a living weapon used, manipulated and abused all she wanted was a family. She was just a kid on the inside. She never had anyone she was all alone her whole life. No one ever loved her, no one ever cared for her.
A living weapon that never had a choice
Steve was annoying but he grew on me so his death hurt. Claire is still traumatized by Rockford Island to this day. Even 13 years later in Revelations 2. "Guns are more reliable than any person", and she looked at Neil with disgust and wsnted to kill him, because it reminded her of Steve, only he was nothing like Steve.
Because only civilians know how to deal with pies

Mostly because I watched the end of this video because I am more familiar with the last two games.
I have played every RE game that has come out and Evelyn was the saddest for me, she never had a chance at what she wanted the most a Family. Not to mention she was brought into existence as nothing but a bioweapon, experimented on and in the end never had a chance at a true life.
Lisa Trevor is by far the most tragic story in RE
The original RE3 Mikhael was way more badass. But the remake really pulled the “Grizzled old man” archetype off.
Brad earned bad karma points for leaving his allies behind but he didnt deserve that and Marvin was just sad
Also original nemesis is beast the remake one feels like an annoying miniboss more than anything
lol that moment when the giant lady slized his whole hand off as he was pulling that switch. and he proceeded to reatach it wile pouring a bottle of water on it or something.
This was awesome! Good work!
Barry Burton is the saddest death if you don't return his gun in the remake (or wait for him to return with rope in original) he dies at the end and leaves behind a file to his young daughters
@HeY DeVuH Forgetting about Deborah Harper from RE6?
You make great videos man and on one of my all time favorite game franchises 👍👍👍
