The ending of RE8 made me cry like a baby. Some people find Ethan to be a boring character, but I grew to love him after playing as him in two games. I felt so bad for him and his determination to save Mia and Rose really struck deep. Now, that trait is common in protagonists in videogames. But it made me think of my own dad and I really wanted Ethan to come out of everything safe and with his family. When he died, I felt so empty, like I failed him. But watching Rose, with his jacket, talking to his grave made me almost proud of her. If this Michael turns out to be Ethan, watching over her through the network, I will be the happiest person on earth.
Even though she was an infant during the events of RE Village it's not farfetched to believe she was helping Ethan throughout the game, especially in The Final Battle against Mother Miranda weakening her enough to Kill her off permanently.
Maybe rose won't have soo much power as eveline, but she can sustain a normal body and not become a rotting granny. So I think she will have certain powers, but won't be that O.P until the plot dictates.
Will o wisps or willo d wisps man. Giant blue or purple orbs infront of the eyes pretty cool. I like your abilitie sets and where they come from or to. Nice. The moss. Is a thing to me it's pretty cool.
Iirc Eveline's rapid aging is a completely different genetic feature encoded in her, unrelated to the power over the Mold. Since Eveline is created to be a bioweapon, there must be some failsafe to restrict her and hold her under control. Rapid aging serves that goal. Eveline must obey her creator to receive treatment that halts her aging. As seen in RE7, without that treatment, Eveline effectively died out after merely 3 years. Rose, on the other hand, was not implanted with that birth defect. Thus, I believe Rose can still rise to Eveline's level of powers (or even higher) without any aging drawback.
I honestly hope that the DLC ends with Rose not getting rid of her powers but owning them for herself, even if they end up weakened to keep her from being too OP. I'm interested in seeing how she navigates that hive mind type thing.
I also wonder if Rose has the capacity to copy the powers/abilities of the four lords? I see the mind control/hallucinations in Donna Beneviento’s abilities as well as Evelyn’s.

My thought is that the Duke is actually the Megamycete or at least a superior manifestation similar to the lords. If you look at his powers he can teleport/move impossibly fast, he knows things he shouldn't about everything in the village and surrounding areas, he helps Ethan get weapons not easily found in a out of the way village to kill the lords and other monsters (possibly to re-assimilate it's missing pieces), and he shrugs of bullets and explosives as if it was a buzzing fly (rapid healing or supremely strong flesh)
Plus he is also acquainted/friends with the Merchant from re4, who was in the village where everyone where everyone was infested with the Plagas parasite.
I had a thought, like why Rose loves and misses her dad so much. I mean she was just months old when her dad died, so I concluded coz of the megamycete's ability to store memories maybe she saw how Ethan saved her, overcoming the Lords, getting his hands cut and everything just to save her. Maybe even interacted with him through this thing. 🤔 also am I the only one who thinks Rose looks a lot like Mia? except blonde? please tell me I'm not alone 😂😅

I wonder if the time jump is not real. Since Eveline rapidly aged, it’s possible that Rose aged herself and what she’s seeing is memories from the network making her think she’s been alive for 16 years.
I think no, she is considered as the new Eveline or otherwise new perfect version of Eveline. So i don't think she would rapidly age, but i think she could transform herself if she want too.
I'm pretty excited for Shadows of Rose, I'm so afraid they'll tease Lady D and her daughters only for them to be yet again short lived or they won't appear at all. Seeing other returning characters and this Michael person will be nice. I really want to know why the Duke is a villain, I knew there was something strange about him but I wonder what could he want with Rose. I was kinda hoping he would bring back the 4 lords somehow but that might be a little too fanfic-ish.
They're definitely gonna hint at Lady D and her daughters since Rose IS in their house. Hopefully, there will be more info/backstory on them. Something tells me Michael may have ben a "failed" test subject and is in hiding similar to Lisa Trevor and possibly helping Rose so he can die (let's remember, immortality and resurrection is an underlying theme in the RE series). Something also tells me that Michael is the DUKE who's trying to hone Rose and take her for her powers.
That's the big question on why the Duke seems to play as a Villain this time around. Also that'd be interesting to see if they go that route of teasing some of the Lords within this consciousness.
I had someone tell me that they think that the Duke's real name is Michael and that the Evil duke we see is just a manifestation using his likeness, but I guess we'll just have to see who these characters really are
My guess is that Rose will be a lot like Sherry and Natalia. For those that haven't played Revelations 2 or RE6, Sherry is able to quickly heal any wounds (including impaling) and Natalia basically has x-ray vision and can locate monsters nearby, among other things.
@@HeYDeVuH I am very interested in how they go about it. With Natalia, it's heavily implied in the canon ending that she was taken over by Alex. It does look like they're going a similar route with Rose. I guess we'll just have to see what happens in the DLC!
I dont think the megamycete is dead. I'm not talking about the mold, but the origin of the mold, the original colony that Miranda found before she became Mother Miranda. The same way the Armillaria ostoyae covers 2384 acres and is still growing, Chris and his team likely didn't kill it all. And since Miranda fused with the mold for decades, the mold copied her memories before Project Evelyne started. And over time, Evie possibly looked like Rose when Rose was a little girl which is probably what Eva looked like as a little girl. I think Rose and her doppelganger are what Eva could have looked like if Eva survived the flu pandemic
I think the megamycete will return in resident evil 9 because Capcom said this will be the end of the first person trilogy so it would make sense the megamycete would return in some way maybe when the village was destroyed a small sample of it survived and that would be what the bsaa or the connections are after.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure Mia in the beginning was actually Miranda and not Mia, you hear Mia fighting with Ethan as Rose was either developing or just born and already visiting the doctor from carrying a virus. So really Rose had a weird distant relationship with her mother because of a fraudulent doppelganger of a Mia.
This is my theory, "Eva"line the failure of a daughter to Miranda, Doing the experiment using the DNA of her deceased child, she programmed her with an obsession of a family, a Mother and a Father. Miranda said that Rose is the complete version of "Eva"line. So even if Ethan defeat her in the previous game, the bio bratt got her wish, according to the knowledge of the Megamycite, she transferred her consciousness and reborn as a new person, a proper body, one that wouldn't decay, and age rapidly, and best of all, accomplish the wish of "Eva"line Ethan as a Father, Mia as a mother.
I believe Michael is very likely Ethan Winters. Michael, perhaps being his middle name? Hiding his identity could easily be seen as him trying to protect Rose, as to not give her a reason to continuing to interact with the Megamycete to visit him. The few scenes we see of him interacting with her clearly are him trying to get her to leave, and when that doesn't work, he gives her means to protect herself. And the Duke could very easily be the Megamycete itself. Which would explain his almost uncanny knowledge of everything in and around the village within RE:8, with his impressive girth as a metaphor for the Megamycete absorbing knowledge of the dead and becoming fat with it. Also, his name the Duke in terms of nobility ranking is second highest after royalty, and two ranks higher than Countess Dimitrescu would have been. Also, Rose's hair color is almost the same shade as Ethan's when you see it in RE:Village's ending when he hands Rose off to Chris. So Ethan's hair color is almost the same shade a Miranda's, though I doubt it means anything. Finally, the question I have personally wondered after it's revealed in RE:Village that Ethan is a mold creature, how was he able to resist Evelyn's mind control? When Mia tells Chris that Ethan is special, she wasn't foolin'. If Ethan can innately resist entities that control the Mold, perhaps Rose can as well. It would also explain how, if Michael is Ethan, he is able to manipulate and move freely within the consciousness of the Megamycete.
We have to remember that it wasn't a VIRAL infection, its a fungal infection and typically speaking, fungal infections are easier to treat/cure than viral
I dont think she was fully cured, Mia is taking some sort of medication which stops the mold taking hold of her again. I think the serum destroyed most of it
So personally I don’t think she can control the megamycelium I think she is the (I’m just going to call it mushroom from her onwards so I don’t have to deal with my dyslexia) it’s the only way it makes sense with the ending of the first game, it also means that she is the perfect undercover agent or will be when her powers are fully realised, so she can (if my ideas pan out) pull up the memory of anyone that has ever been infected by the mould learning anything they knew from information to combat skills and as her mum was infected she has quite the training, she can also change her appearance to look like anyone infected and as a last resort she can do that thing that all RE bosses do were she becomes the size of a building but because of her control of her form she can also shed that form going back to her human form or a human form. On a fun side for a girl her age at her whim she can change her hear style or colour even her eyes, she can make herself taller or change her body shape without the need for plastic surgery, as she dosnt really need her spine she can easily become head cheerleader or top the track team as she also dosnt need to breath, not needing the breath also puts her in line to be the best swimmer at whatever high school she is at. 28:00 also if my ideas turn out to be anywhere near true she can earthier go into her own mind and talk to her farther as everything that made him him will be there in her or depending on how strong she is she could literally summon him up as a moulded (assuming that hasn’t already happened with the guy we see walking towards the car at the end) all she would need to do is choose not to control him and suddenly her dad is back alive (I would assume that it would also be the him we see at the end of the game and from his point of view he will have just blown up the heart, then sudden flash of white light and he is sitting or standing before young blond girl that’s wearing his jacket and somehow looks familiar, if she did the same thing with her mum on the other hand it would probably bring up young Mia just before been cleansed of the infection at the end of the first game)
I don't think Rose will be back for a while, and if she is then she'll be more of a side character/plot hook i.e. she goes missing and we need to find her as Chris or whatever. And it probably won't happen for a good long while, if ever
It's perhaps a little farfetched, but I really hope that Rose might be able to connect with Ethan through her powers. It's known that the mold "catalogs" any- and everything it touches, including people, so even "dead" Ethan technically still lives through the catalogs. A little headcannon for me is that "Michael" might actually be Ethan, watching over his daughter from beyond the grave. The final climax might be the player having to choose between keeping Rose's power (keeping a connection to her dad, but also the dangers from Evelyn and the like), or getting rid of her powers, being safe but also losing any means of connecting with her father.
I can imagine, that the DLC will mostly play inside of Roses mind. As her Doppelganger will embody what she fears to become. I believe, that she has far greater potential than Evelyn, who has used her power to a considerable extend. Rose doesn't seem to be fond of these gifts as Mother Miranda was.
I'm very curious about the comparison between Rose and Miranda's hair color. During the game you see Miranda with blonde hair and lighter features, but all photos of her show her to have dark hair. Even the one when she's holding Eva it shows both of them having dark brown/black hair. The photo you find of Miranda visiting The Connections to see Eveline in RE7 shows her with dark hair. I wonder what the significance of this change in her design means 🤔
Zoe's hair turned white after her mutation in the DLC, and 'experiments' somehow turned Jill into Samus Aran in RE5, so albinism/turning blonde is something that happens a lot to female characters in Resident Evil. Out of universe it's because Capcom producers have a thing for turning brunettes into blondes...

6:00 it’s important to remember that isn’t Mia we don’t actually meet Mia until nearly the end of the game (about 3/4 or 4/5 into the game) On aside note I’m way to chuffed that I spotted that that version of Mia at the start of the game wasn’t her, the devs do give the player a few hints but it was easily overlooked.
@@pantheraatrox4653 I’m talking about the one we see at the start of the game reading the book too rose, so things I spotted was first in the trailers that her nose is too sharp and angular (from an in game perspective i wonder how Ethan dosnt spot this) Mia has more on a button nose and the eye are also to narrow, I do wonder how long Miranda was posing as Mia I mean it must be more than a few days for Chris and his team to find out and be sure enough to outright kill her. Then when the game came out another big red flag is when she picks up the scalding hot pot (I can’t remember if it was off the stove top or out of the oven but either way that thing will be red hot) without gloves but she dosnt burn herself, then lastly when she is shot she bealy flinches if anything her expression is more of irritation than pain, she makes a face I make if I drop a bit of pasta on the floor aka that’s a pain now I have to bend down and pick it up, it definitely isn’t shock or pain.
Since the Resident Evil live action movies introduce an original character that had control over the T-virus, aka Alice, I think Rose could be the counterpart character of the game universe. The Rose DLC will connecting quite a lot of loop hole and maybe the return of villain like Wesker.
Kinda like how The Merchant is a dominant plagas, hence why he has the eyes, but has the will to resist it's influence, but says fuck it, I'll just make some $ as the cult and agents war it out

Honestly: I kind off get the feeling that she’ll be keeping some of her powers at the end. That she WILL be her own self and destroy the remnants of the Mutamycete and be the only Mold being left (aside from maybe Mia if she too is still one). I think that when she gains full control of the powers she will use them to only do good. And if people will try to use her for nefarious goals, that she will know about it and will do her best to stop it.
Interesting theory. I thought what if Michael was actually the husband of Miranda. After watching Miranda go through so much to revive Eva and seeing it corrupt, he wants to guide Rose to escape from her Manipulation.

Since this tales place 16 yrs in the future, I wonder if they will add hints to what happens to the other RE characters and what might happen in RE 9. Could be a good way to tease it.
Yeah I hope that give information on who is still alive and what they're currently up to, though at least we know that Chris was still alive around that time
So I’m still unsure here: Ethan died but was “alive” due to the mold…but Mia isn’t…? Is it because Mia received the cure at the end of 7? If Ethan had been given a similar cure, would he have been “alive”? What about Zoe Baker? Too many questions; I’ve gone cross eyed…
Yeah I think with Mia that she did get the cure and wasn't killed while at the Baker residence, the opposite situation occurred with Ethan and explains why he became a Mold being.
Mia didn't die in 7, she was alive but infected the whole way through until the cure was given to her. Ethan actually died and was in a way resurrected by the Mold. So while Mia might have traces of it left in her system/genetics, it became Ethan's entire being.
It'd be neat if she could meet Wesker's son Jake or Sherry. The mutated/infected kids of previous RE villains who're actually good guys. Kinda feels like she'd fit right in.
This is starting to remind me or Revolutions. Ive played the 2nd one and the little girl in the 2nd story has a doppelgänger in some Extra stories. Maybe this will work similarly. One can go infrom of enemies while the other has to sneak around said enemies. Or the doppelgänger will show her what happened to Her fatherr and such.
I thought the same thing as well where she would've aged rapidly like Eveline but from the looks of it she aged normally but still retained the powers over the Mold
@@HeYDeVuH well I don’t know if it’s confirmed that 16 years has passed and I hope not. The franchise is big and have a lot of iconic characters moving the story 16 years into the future will be unwise since most of the characters will be to old fight or do anything. I’m not saying they shouldn’t progress the story, all I’m saying is they should (if that’s the plan) build characters like Ethan where they took their time instead of rushing.
I guess I'll drop my theories in here before the DLC comes out. *Micheal* Theory 1 - It's Eva. I would not be surprised if Eva was disgusted with what her Mother did and she tries to help Rose via letting her get on with he life without the Mold interfering. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Eva somehow guided Rose into weakening Miranda at the end. Theory 2 - Micheal is Ethan but Ethan remains anonymous as to not cause her pain, possibly acting as an guardian angel throughout her life by showing her things and fighting off an potentially now active Eveline. It's been shown and said that people can live on within several times, even able to directly communicate. Theory 3 - Micheal is evil and the Shadow is good or Micheal IS also the Shadow. Another common twist but Micheal could simply be the bad guy and is manipulating Rose into fighting the Shadow or is manipulating Rose by pretending to be the Shadow, making it easy to trust Micheal as the Shadow seems like the threat. As for who Micheal could be, it could be Eveline, Miranda, or someone new (I go in detail below). Theory 4 - Micheal is Duke. We know for a fact that Duke had powerful connections with the Lords, has too much knowledge to not have involvement, and he can likely shape shift as to explain how he can easily get around because he has to be an Mold being (no way the Lycan's wouldn't have eaten him or his horses). Unlike Merchant, we know for a fact that his relevance is completely canon outside of gameplay elements. *Shadow* Theory 1 - Since it's already been shown that Eveline lives on in Ethan's head (probably too weak to make an appearance until Ethan was close to death), then I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that she would also exist in Rose given that Rose is literally made from her particular Mold. I think Rose gaining more Mold in Village and seemingly having such a strong control over the Mold may have given Eveline enough juice to actually "interfere" with Rose. I actually think Eveline talks to her or torments her and that could be why she has such a strong reaction to being called "Eveline". So I wouldn't be surprised if Eveline was vying for control of Rose's body so she could be reborn but without the issue of rapid aging. This would make the line of Rose's theme song (Yearning for Dark Shadows) "Because of you, I am who I am" connect more (it should also be noted that it sounds like it's said with hatred and pain) AND it also calls back to Eveline's own theme song in which she talks about how she was "made" then treated like a prop instead of like an actual child. Theory 2 - It's Eva and the Shadow is actually good. Pretty simple theory and a common twist. The shadow is actually trying to assist Rose but Micheal through manipulation (words and possibly even hallucinations) is trying to convince Rose otherwise. Theory 3 - It's Miranda, still fighting to bring her daughter back. This one I'm not too keen on as I actually feel like she would stop after meeting her daughter's consciousness, which we know is possible because Jack, Marg, and interestingly an still alive Zoe were all able to meet up with each in the Mold. Theory 4 - The Black God itself or the first host of the Black God. This would not be the first time in the series that something gained intelligence in the RE universe because of a virus or Mold in this case (Plant 42 considerably increased in intelligence). I would not be surprised that with it soaking up all of those conscious people, it was able to gain some sentience and may have even influenced Miranda on a subconscious level to create a perfect vessel that could fully harness it's power while giving it a form that could actually experience life. Alternatively, it could be the very first human host of the Black God trying to return to a state of physicality and wants to use Rose's body as the base. Theory 5 - Insane one but perhaps Shadow is Duke and the reason he helped Ethan take down Miranda despite obviously having ties to her, is because he wanted the perfect vessel for himself. He also seems to travel the world, so perhaps, he was visiting Eva clones in Connection facilities (The Connections were actively running away around the world from the BSAA and other shady orgs trying to finish them off) in private via shape shifting Perhaps he's even older than Miranda herself and could even be importantly tied to the Megamycete itself. *Other theories* Ethan end credits - Perhaps Ethan in the end credits wasn't just a reused asset and actually a hallucination experienced by Rose. Mia - Perhaps Mia was altered a bit during her time with Miranda. There's also the other organization who's involved in this that would obviously want her and the BSAA has also become shady, so something could happen to her then. The Organization/3rd Company/Rival Company - The company who was a big reason for Umbrella's downfall is the one playing the game of power behind all this mess. Think about it. The Organization's biggest motivator is eliminating competition (ordering Lucas to kill everyone at the secret Connections facility), steal research (Lucas was ordered to secretly feed them intel), and gain the largest foothold in the sale of B.O.W.s. Also, it makes much more sense that the little birdie that informed Miranda was them and not the BSAA IMO. Oh and there was one character who was going to appear in earlier drafts of the story and she's known for working with them... Ada Wong - The earlier planned appearance of Ada before she was cut just screams Organization involvement IMO. They seem to love hiring Ada, to the point that nearly every time we see her, she's working for them. She's also on a textbook mission, being a spy hiding within the Village and looking for something important. She also seemed to have gotten another job right at the end of RE6 (her last canon appearance I believe). BSAA B.O.W.s - Not only do I believe they're cloning Chris (the soldiers literally share his face in both the concept art and actual model WITH a close up shot), I also believe they have been using an combination of Umbrella's old research (known for cloning btw) and Jill's DNA. I'd like to point out that Umbrella had been continuously researching to further miniaturize Tyrants and boost their intelligence before they fell apart. I believe by using Jill's super charged immune system, they strengthened the bond between the clones of Chris and a t-Virus strain to do exactly that, severely limiting mutations/side effects much like t-Humans who can successfully bond with t. Since they were clones and likely rapidly aged up, control would be easy (which is something that was also noted about t-103s as they were significantly easier to control because they lacked humanity), though they probably had a brain device implanted just in case. We know Tyrants with enough intelligence can use weapons (Nemesis), which funnily enough connects back to Jill. We know some Tyrants can also be trained for advanced orders, to understand language, and gain some combat training (Ivan Models).
Impressive. I so can’t wait to play as Rose in the new DLC and hopefully this new DLC will be an excellent prelude to RE9. Also, I’d like to see the alternate Duke who is dark or menacing in the new DLC
Agreed. Plus the Evil Duke is a hallucination projected in Rose’s mind since she goes into the megamycete consciousness. So basically the real Duke is still good in the real world but that’s how I understand it based on what I saw

Hopefully in the Next RE Game Rose & Sherry Birkin team up, I'd like to see What 2 characters one with The Megamycete & T-Virus can do together. Assuming Rose's & Sherry's powers are still growing, they could become almost Godlike. 🧏🏿♂️🙆🏻♀️
I was thinking something similar. My idea was the Mold finding a symbiosis with the T-virus, creating a T-Type Mold and something like a T-Sigma virus. Both retaining and enhancing the strengths of both while neutralizing their weaknesses. The T-Type Mold would enhance the host cells, transforming them into heavily enhanced mycelial copies which would produce the virus. The virus would rapidly infect other cells in the body through the bloodstream while the Mold infects cells adjacent to it, turning them into more heavily enhanced mycelial copies until the host is completely transformed.
who is to say that Ethan is the father, or whether Jack or Eveline found a way to still control the mould even after death since Jack was able to tell Ethan to save his family using the mould and his subconscious
That would be interesting, a lot of possible scenarios could be done due to the vast amounts of connections that these characters have with each others.
If I made resident evil 9 then I would make rose and mia the main characters because in shadows of rose we see rose finally learn how to life with her powers and seeing her use it in the real world would be amazing. I would also like to see what mold abilities mia has because she was still infected with the mold so it leaves so many doors open.

Maybe another reason that why Mother Miranda's attemp to resurrect her daugther fail is that her daugther didn't want to be reborn while having a mother like this or because she let's Rose live because she's just an innoncent child. The most scarring thing in the video is Ethan's model with no head with the free camera mode😱

RE 8 has made nods to silent Hill, however it's unconfirmed if they are actual nods or just coincidences, such as Ethan's clothing being similar to James'
Considering her power she could conceivably dive into the Megamycete and find the echoes of her own father with time. Hell if Eve could constitute mold creatures and Ethan was made of mold it's not too far a stretch to see her capable of putting that Echo in a faux Ethan body.

I'd imagine her doppleganger is actually Miranda's actual daughter who actually DID get revived when rose was dipped, but as a SEPARATE entity. If so.. That would be a hilarious reveal, that Miranda didn't even NEED to replace Ethan's daughter, just have her TOUCH the liquid. Could have just asked to babysit, and BAM.
I speculate that Rose will see Ethan in some capacity while inside the consciousness of the Megamycete and same as you I want to see how this new role the Duke plays out and that he is really still a good guy.

The ending of RE8 made me cry like a baby. Some people find Ethan to be a boring character, but I grew to love him after playing as him in two games. I felt so bad for him and his determination to save Mia and Rose really struck deep. Now, that trait is common in protagonists in videogames. But it made me think of my own dad and I really wanted Ethan to come out of everything safe and with his family. When he died, I felt so empty, like I failed him. But watching Rose, with his jacket, talking to his grave made me almost proud of her. If this Michael turns out to be Ethan, watching over her through the network, I will be the happiest person on earth.

Even though she was an infant during the events of RE Village it's not farfetched to believe she was helping Ethan throughout the game, especially in The Final Battle against Mother Miranda weakening her enough to Kill her off permanently.
I always speculated that she was the one who weakened Mother Miranda at the final battle, explaining why she said that "My power is leaving me"

Iirc Eveline's rapid aging is a completely different genetic feature encoded in her, unrelated to the power over the Mold. Since Eveline is created to be a bioweapon, there must be some failsafe to restrict her and hold her under control. Rapid aging serves that goal. Eveline must obey her creator to receive treatment that halts her aging. As seen in RE7, without that treatment, Eveline effectively died out after merely 3 years. Rose, on the other hand, was not implanted with that birth defect. Thus, I believe Rose can still rise to Eveline's level of powers (or even higher) without any aging drawback.
Rose is more powerful than Eveline or at least will grow to be more powerful than her because she is Evelines true form
I honestly hope that the DLC ends with Rose not getting rid of her powers but owning them for herself, even if they end up weakened to keep her from being too OP. I'm interested in seeing how she navigates that hive mind type thing.

My thought is that the Duke is actually the Megamycete or at least a superior manifestation similar to the lords. If you look at his powers he can teleport/move impossibly fast, he knows things he shouldn't about everything in the village and surrounding areas, he helps Ethan get weapons not easily found in a out of the way village to kill the lords and other monsters (possibly to re-assimilate it's missing pieces), and he shrugs of bullets and explosives as if it was a buzzing fly (rapid healing or supremely strong flesh)
Plus he is also acquainted/friends with the Merchant from re4, who was in the village where everyone where everyone was infested with the Plagas parasite.

I had a thought, like why Rose loves and misses her dad so much. I mean she was just months old when her dad died, so I concluded coz of the megamycete's ability to store memories maybe she saw how Ethan saved her, overcoming the Lords, getting his hands cut and everything just to save her. Maybe even interacted with him through this thing. 🤔

I wonder if the time jump is not real. Since Eveline rapidly aged, it’s possible that Rose aged herself and what she’s seeing is memories from the network making her think she’s been alive for 16 years.

I think no, she is considered as the new Eveline or otherwise new perfect version of Eveline. So i don't think she would rapidly age, but i think she could transform herself if she want too.
I'm pretty excited for Shadows of Rose, I'm so afraid they'll tease Lady D and her daughters only for them to be yet again short lived or they won't appear at all. Seeing other returning characters and this Michael person will be nice.
I really want to know why the Duke is a villain, I knew there was something strange about him but I wonder what could he want with Rose. I was kinda hoping he would bring back the 4 lords somehow but that might be a little too fanfic-ish.
They're definitely gonna hint at Lady D and her daughters since Rose IS in their house. Hopefully, there will be more info/backstory on them. Something tells me Michael may have ben a "failed" test subject and is in hiding similar to Lisa Trevor and possibly helping Rose so he can die (let's remember, immortality and resurrection is an underlying theme in the RE series). Something also tells me that Michael is the DUKE who's trying to hone Rose and take her for her powers.
Maybe they a new form, Lady D combined with her daughters as a super bow?
That's the big question on why the Duke seems to play as a Villain this time around. Also that'd be interesting to see if they go that route of teasing some of the Lords within this consciousness.
I had someone tell me that they think that the Duke's real name is Michael and that the Evil duke we see is just a manifestation using his likeness, but I guess we'll just have to see who these characters really are

My guess is that Rose will be a lot like Sherry and Natalia. For those that haven't played Revelations 2 or RE6, Sherry is able to quickly heal any wounds (including impaling) and Natalia basically has x-ray vision and can locate monsters nearby, among other things.

@@HeYDeVuH I am very interested in how they go about it. With Natalia, it's heavily implied in the canon ending that she was taken over by Alex. It does look like they're going a similar route with Rose. I guess we'll just have to see what happens in the DLC!
I dont think the megamycete is dead. I'm not talking about the mold, but the origin of the mold, the original colony that Miranda found before she became Mother Miranda. The same way the Armillaria ostoyae covers 2384 acres and is still growing, Chris and his team likely didn't kill it all. And since Miranda fused with the mold for decades, the mold copied her memories before Project Evelyne started. And over time, Evie possibly looked like Rose when Rose was a little girl which is probably what Eva looked like as a little girl. I think Rose and her doppelganger are what Eva could have looked like if Eva survived the flu pandemic

I think the megamycete will return in resident evil 9 because Capcom said this will be the end of the first person trilogy so it would make sense the megamycete would return in some way maybe when the village was destroyed a small sample of it survived and that would be what the bsaa or the connections are after.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure Mia in the beginning was actually Miranda and not Mia, you hear Mia fighting with Ethan as Rose was either developing or just born and already visiting the doctor from carrying a virus. So really Rose had a weird distant relationship with her mother because of a fraudulent doppelganger of a Mia.

This is my theory, "Eva"line the failure of a daughter to Miranda, Doing the experiment using the DNA of her deceased child, she programmed her with an obsession of a family, a Mother and a Father. Miranda said that Rose is the complete version of "Eva"line. So even if Ethan defeat her in the previous game, the bio bratt got her wish, according to the knowledge of the Megamycite, she transferred her consciousness and reborn as a new person, a proper body, one that wouldn't decay, and age rapidly, and best of all, accomplish the wish of "Eva"line Ethan as a Father, Mia as a mother.
I believe Michael is very likely Ethan Winters. Michael, perhaps being his middle name? Hiding his identity could easily be seen as him trying to protect Rose, as to not give her a reason to continuing to interact with the Megamycete to visit him. The few scenes we see of him interacting with her clearly are him trying to get her to leave, and when that doesn't work, he gives her means to protect herself.
And the Duke could very easily be the Megamycete itself. Which would explain his almost uncanny knowledge of everything in and around the village within RE:8, with his impressive girth as a metaphor for the Megamycete absorbing knowledge of the dead and becoming fat with it. Also, his name the Duke in terms of nobility ranking is second highest after royalty, and two ranks higher than Countess Dimitrescu would have been.
Also, Rose's hair color is almost the same shade as Ethan's when you see it in RE:Village's ending when he hands Rose off to Chris. So Ethan's hair color is almost the same shade a Miranda's, though I doubt it means anything.
Finally, the question I have personally wondered after it's revealed in RE:Village that Ethan is a mold creature, how was he able to resist Evelyn's mind control? When Mia tells Chris that Ethan is special, she wasn't foolin'. If Ethan can innately resist entities that control the Mold, perhaps Rose can as well. It would also explain how, if Michael is Ethan, he is able to manipulate and move freely within the consciousness of the Megamycete.

Looking at Mia in Re7, it is amazing that someone can be cured from that type of a virus.
We have to remember that it wasn't a VIRAL infection, its a fungal infection and typically speaking, fungal infections are easier to treat/cure than viral
I dont think she was fully cured, Mia is taking some sort of medication which stops the mold taking hold of her again. I think the serum destroyed most of it

So personally I don’t think she can control the megamycelium I think she is the (I’m just going to call it mushroom from her onwards so I don’t have to deal with my dyslexia) it’s the only way it makes sense with the ending of the first game, it also means that she is the perfect undercover agent or will be when her powers are fully realised, so she can (if my ideas pan out) pull up the memory of anyone that has ever been infected by the mould learning anything they knew from information to combat skills and as her mum was infected she has quite the training, she can also change her appearance to look like anyone infected and as a last resort she can do that thing that all RE bosses do were she becomes the size of a building but because of her control of her form she can also shed that form going back to her human form or a human form.
On a fun side for a girl her age at her whim she can change her hear style or colour even her eyes, she can make herself taller or change her body shape without the need for plastic surgery, as she dosnt really need her spine she can easily become head cheerleader or top the track team as she also dosnt need to breath, not needing the breath also puts her in line to be the best swimmer at whatever high school she is at.
28:00 also if my ideas turn out to be anywhere near true she can earthier go into her own mind and talk to her farther as everything that made him him will be there in her or depending on how strong she is she could literally summon him up as a moulded (assuming that hasn’t already happened with the guy we see walking towards the car at the end) all she would need to do is choose not to control him and suddenly her dad is back alive (I would assume that it would also be the him we see at the end of the game and from his point of view he will have just blown up the heart, then sudden flash of white light and he is sitting or standing before young blond girl that’s wearing his jacket and somehow looks familiar, if she did the same thing with her mum on the other hand it would probably bring up young Mia just before been cleansed of the infection at the end of the first game)
I really hope she doesn't loose all of her power and instead becomes the protag of the next game. Have this be the winters arc of Rezzie

I don't think Rose will be back for a while, and if she is then she'll be more of a side character/plot hook i.e. she goes missing and we need to find her as Chris or whatever. And it probably won't happen for a good long while, if ever
It's perhaps a little farfetched, but I really hope that Rose might be able to connect with Ethan through her powers. It's known that the mold "catalogs" any- and everything it touches, including people, so even "dead" Ethan technically still lives through the catalogs.
A little headcannon for me is that "Michael" might actually be Ethan, watching over his daughter from beyond the grave. The final climax might be the player having to choose between keeping Rose's power (keeping a connection to her dad, but also the dangers from Evelyn and the like), or getting rid of her powers, being safe but also losing any means of connecting with her father.

I can imagine, that the DLC will mostly play inside of Roses mind. As her Doppelganger will embody what she fears to become. I believe, that she has far greater potential than Evelyn, who has used her power to a considerable extend. Rose doesn't seem to be fond of these gifts as Mother Miranda was.

I'm very curious about the comparison between Rose and Miranda's hair color. During the game you see Miranda with blonde hair and lighter features, but all photos of her show her to have dark hair. Even the one when she's holding Eva it shows both of them having dark brown/black hair. The photo you find of Miranda visiting The Connections to see Eveline in RE7 shows her with dark hair.
I wonder what the significance of this change in her design means 🤔
I think Rose was meant to look like a combo of Mia and Ethan. She has similar features to Mia, but I believe Ethan also has light hair and eyes.

Zoe's hair turned white after her mutation in the DLC, and 'experiments' somehow turned Jill into Samus Aran in RE5, so albinism/turning blonde is something that happens a lot to female characters in Resident Evil. Out of universe it's because Capcom producers have a thing for turning brunettes into blondes...

6:00 it’s important to remember that isn’t Mia we don’t actually meet Mia until nearly the end of the game (about 3/4 or 4/5 into the game)
On aside note I’m way to chuffed that I spotted that that version of Mia at the start of the game wasn’t her, the devs do give the player a few hints but it was easily overlooked.
The one in the picture book is obviously Mia if that's what you're saying. Miranda replaced her pretty late
@@pantheraatrox4653 I’m talking about the one we see at the start of the game reading the book too rose, so things I spotted was first in the trailers that her nose is too sharp and angular (from an in game perspective i wonder how Ethan dosnt spot this) Mia has more on a button nose and the eye are also to narrow, I do wonder how long Miranda was posing as Mia I mean it must be more than a few days for Chris and his team to find out and be sure enough to outright kill her.
Then when the game came out another big red flag is when she picks up the scalding hot pot (I can’t remember if it was off the stove top or out of the oven but either way that thing will be red hot) without gloves but she dosnt burn herself, then lastly when she is shot she bealy flinches if anything her expression is more of irritation than pain, she makes a face I make if I drop a bit of pasta on the floor aka that’s a pain now I have to bend down and pick it up, it definitely isn’t shock or pain.
yeah it should have clicked when it took a full clip of bullets to take her down but i put that down to the molds regenerative powers at first.

Since the Resident Evil live action movies introduce an original character that had control over the T-virus, aka Alice, I think Rose could be the counterpart character of the game universe. The Rose DLC will connecting quite a lot of loop hole and maybe the return of villain like Wesker.
That could very well be the case unless if they go the route of removing her powers completely by the end of the Shadow of Rose DLC

Honestly: I kind off get the feeling that she’ll be keeping some of her powers at the end. That she WILL be her own self and destroy the remnants of the Mutamycete and be the only Mold being left (aside from maybe Mia if she too is still one). I think that when she gains full control of the powers she will use them to only do good. And if people will try to use her for nefarious goals, that she will know about it and will do her best to stop it.

Yeah I think with Mia that she did get the cure and wasn't killed while at the Baker residence, the opposite situation occurred with Ethan and explains why he became a Mold being.
Mia didn't die in 7, she was alive but infected the whole way through until the cure was given to her. Ethan actually died and was in a way resurrected by the Mold. So while Mia might have traces of it left in her system/genetics, it became Ethan's entire being.
It'd be neat if she could meet Wesker's son Jake or Sherry. The mutated/infected kids of previous RE villains who're actually good guys. Kinda feels like she'd fit right in.

This is starting to remind me or Revolutions. Ive played the 2nd one and the little girl in the 2nd story has a doppelgänger in some Extra stories. Maybe this will work similarly. One can go infrom of enemies while the other has to sneak around said enemies. Or the doppelgänger will show her what happened to Her fatherr and such.
One thing I don’t get is how it is 16 years in the future. Isn’t Rose similar to Eveline in terms of their biology? Doesn’t she age fast like Eveline?

The franchise is big and have a lot of iconic characters moving the story 16 years into the future will be unwise since most of the characters will be to old fight or do anything. I’m not saying they shouldn’t progress the story, all I’m saying is they should (if that’s the plan) build characters like Ethan where they took their time instead of rushing.
The fast adding was something that they wanted to fix. It was a weakness.

Theory 1 - It's Eva. I would not be surprised if Eva was disgusted with what her Mother did and she tries to help Rose via letting her get on with he life without the Mold interfering. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Eva somehow guided Rose into weakening Miranda at the end.
Theory 2 - Micheal is Ethan but Ethan remains anonymous as to not cause her pain, possibly acting as an guardian angel throughout her life by showing her things and fighting off an potentially now active Eveline. It's been shown and said that people can live on within several times, even able to directly communicate.
Theory 3 - Micheal is evil and the Shadow is good or Micheal IS also the Shadow. Another common twist but Micheal could simply be the bad guy and is manipulating Rose into fighting the Shadow or is manipulating Rose by pretending to be the Shadow, making it easy to trust Micheal as the Shadow seems like the threat. As for who Micheal could be, it could be Eveline, Miranda, or someone new (I go in detail below).
Theory 4 - Micheal is Duke. We know for a fact that Duke had powerful connections with the Lords, has too much knowledge to not have involvement, and he can likely shape shift as to explain how he can easily get around because he has to be an Mold being (no way the Lycan's wouldn't have eaten him or his horses). Unlike Merchant, we know for a fact that his relevance is completely canon outside of gameplay elements.
*Shadow*
Theory 1 - Since it's already been shown that Eveline lives on in Ethan's head (probably too weak to make an appearance until Ethan was close to death), then I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that she would also exist in Rose given that Rose is literally made from her particular Mold. I think Rose gaining more Mold in Village and seemingly having such a strong control over the Mold may have given Eveline enough juice to actually "interfere" with Rose. I actually think Eveline talks to her or torments her and that could be why she has such a strong reaction to being called "Eveline". So I wouldn't be surprised if Eveline was vying for control of Rose's body so she could be reborn but without the issue of rapid aging. This would make the line of Rose's theme song (Yearning for Dark Shadows) "Because of you, I am who I am" connect more (it should also be noted that it sounds like it's said with hatred and pain) AND it also calls back to Eveline's own theme song in which she talks about how she was "made" then treated like a prop instead of like an actual child.
Theory 2 - It's Eva and the Shadow is actually good. Pretty simple theory and a common twist. The shadow is actually trying to assist Rose but Micheal through manipulation (words and possibly even hallucinations) is trying to convince Rose otherwise.
Theory 3 - It's Miranda, still fighting to bring her daughter back. This one I'm not too keen on as I actually feel like she would stop after meeting her daughter's consciousness, which we know is possible because Jack, Marg, and interestingly an still alive Zoe were all able to meet up with each in the Mold.
Theory 4 - The Black God itself or the first host of the Black God. This would not be the first time in the series that something gained intelligence in the RE universe because of a virus or Mold in this case (Plant 42 considerably increased in intelligence). I would not be surprised that with it soaking up all of those conscious people, it was able to gain some sentience and may have even influenced Miranda on a subconscious level to create a perfect vessel that could fully harness it's power while giving it a form that could actually experience life. Alternatively, it could be the very first human host of the Black God trying to return to a state of physicality and wants to use Rose's body as the base.
Theory 5 - Insane one but perhaps Shadow is Duke and the reason he helped Ethan take down Miranda despite obviously having ties to her, is because he wanted the perfect vessel for himself. He also seems to travel the world, so perhaps, he was visiting Eva clones in Connection facilities (The Connections were actively running away around the world from the BSAA and other shady orgs trying to finish them off) in private via shape shifting Perhaps he's even older than Miranda herself and could even be importantly tied to the Megamycete itself.
*Other theories*
Ethan end credits - Perhaps Ethan in the end credits wasn't just a reused asset and actually a hallucination experienced by Rose.
Mia - Perhaps Mia was altered a bit during her time with Miranda. There's also the other organization who's involved in this that would obviously want her and the BSAA has also become shady, so something could happen to her then.
The Organization/3rd Company/Rival Company - The company who was a big reason for Umbrella's downfall is the one playing the game of power behind all this mess. Think about it. The Organization's biggest motivator is eliminating competition (ordering Lucas to kill everyone at the secret Connections facility), steal research (Lucas was ordered to secretly feed them intel), and gain the largest foothold in the sale of B.O.W.s. Also, it makes much more sense that the little birdie that informed Miranda was them and not the BSAA IMO. Oh and there was one character who was going to appear in earlier drafts of the story and she's known for working with them...
Ada Wong - The earlier planned appearance of Ada before she was cut just screams Organization involvement IMO. They seem to love hiring Ada, to the point that nearly every time we see her, she's working for them. She's also on a textbook mission, being a spy hiding within the Village and looking for something important. She also seemed to have gotten another job right at the end of RE6 (her last canon appearance I believe).
BSAA B.O.W.s - Not only do I believe they're cloning Chris (the soldiers literally share his face in both the concept art and actual model WITH a close up shot), I also believe they have been using an combination of Umbrella's old research (known for cloning btw) and Jill's DNA. I'd like to point out that Umbrella had been continuously researching to further miniaturize Tyrants and boost their intelligence before they fell apart. I believe by using Jill's super charged immune system, they strengthened the bond between the clones of Chris and a t-Virus strain to do exactly that, severely limiting mutations/side effects much like t-Humans who can successfully bond with t. Since they were clones and likely rapidly aged up, control would be easy (which is something that was also noted about t-103s as they were significantly easier to control because they lacked humanity), though they probably had a brain device implanted just in case. We know Tyrants with enough intelligence can use weapons (Nemesis), which funnily enough connects back to Jill. We know some Tyrants can also be trained for advanced orders, to understand language, and gain some combat training (Ivan Models).

Agreed. Plus the Evil Duke is a hallucination projected in Rose’s mind since she goes into the megamycete consciousness. So basically the real Duke is still good in the real world but that’s how I understand it based on what I saw

I was thinking something similar. My idea was the Mold finding a symbiosis with the T-virus, creating a T-Type Mold and something like a T-Sigma virus. Both retaining and enhancing the strengths of both while neutralizing their weaknesses.
The T-Type Mold would enhance the host cells, transforming them into heavily enhanced mycelial copies which would produce the virus. The virus would rapidly infect other cells in the body through the bloodstream while the Mold infects cells adjacent to it, turning them into more heavily enhanced mycelial copies until the host is completely transformed.
That would be an interesting combination

That would be interesting, a lot of possible scenarios could be done due to the vast amounts of connections that these characters have with each others.
If I made resident evil 9 then I would make rose and mia the main characters because in shadows of rose we see rose finally learn how to life with her powers and seeing her use it in the real world would be amazing. I would also like to see what mold abilities mia has because she was still infected with the mold so it leaves so many doors open.

Maybe another reason that why Mother Miranda's attemp to resurrect her daugther fail is that her daugther didn't want to be reborn while having a mother like this or because she let's Rose live because she's just an innoncent child.
