I've just discovered the clutch feature of Razor and I'm in love with it. Now I'm looking for the best mouse for it. I think this one may be it, with its forward thumb button. I have the Death Adder and the only button that makes sense for it is the left side button closes to you, but it doesn't feel quite right having to lift my thumb up every time I want to engage clutch.
@@zihdj It's not that they're slippery, they just get smudged up quickly. I bought the grip tape to keep it looking clean without constantly having to clean them. It's that smooth plastic they used on these. With newer models they switched to textured plastic, and it's much more fingerprint resistant.
I just bought one from best buy for $75, thats without the charging dock though. The package deal was still marked at $150, and the charging dock was not available for purchase on it's own. I got a good deal but I still feel like I was swindled out of the dock for this price
I don't know what to tell you, I still see it on BestBuy.com for $69.99 today, with a charger. Are you in US? Maybe see if it's not too late to return it if the one bundled with a charger is available to you.
@@spacemsh wow, yah im in the Boston suburb area. I might call them to see if I can exchange, especially since I paid more without the charger. Thanx bud
Just got mine for that deal, i had been looking at the viper but i do like the ergonomic shape, the viper had my attention with the 59$ price with charging dock as well as its lighter weight. Since it will be my daily replacing my g604(eats batteries) and g305(gaming mouse). It was either razer/logitech bc i already have g-hub installed and use it for my yeti mic. And have synapse from my huntsman TE. So i didnt want additional bloatware/software to add to my system/build. Overall nice mouse i like the thumb rest you can easily tilt the mouse/pinky side up by putting some pressure on the thumb rest/area. Not sure how long that thumb/rest mouse foot will last, though i can already see how that will lead to some advantage/tilting/lifting the mouse over the smaller g305 shape. As far as RGB it turn mine off to prolong battery life. Though the dip/switching does bottom/top out at the lowest/highest settings vs the "cycling" feature/mini light on the G305. Which is a pretty nice feature as i find myself cycling through 4-5 dpi ranges every time i accidently press the button on the G305. Though it would be nice to have an LED/RGB indicator when you switch dpi and corresponding colors that briefly illuminate to help in the JUST case that you "accidentally" change DPI. This was easy to work around by having Per/game profiles and auto profile switching in G-hub so i can lower the total dpi/range from 4-5 options to 1-2 in games like cs:go/valorant/siege. Where ill generally flip from a slightly slower dpi for long range aim/duels and buy rounds and...pistol/higher dpi ranges for CQB where i would find myself picking up/swiping more. I also calibrated the LOD(asymetrical) to my invicta mouse pad in synapse which is a nice feature being able to custom/calibrate LOD as well as async LOD. Which is a really nice feature. I always liked this shape/larger mouse 2 for the way i grip the mouse with a chopped/tapered Mouse 1. You can do some edge/button clicking on mouse 1 vs the way a deathadder is shaped per ex. Going to use an invicta hard pad till its worn out. I got a backup logitech G440 hard pad...it was listed as a soft pad at bestbuy but none the less it was 15$ for a hard pad which i generally like esp with laser or wireless mice, it tracks/faster than a typical cloth pad so you can get used to using higher dpi ranges, or quicker/precise tracking when doing snap/aiming. Also i like the glide of a hard pad. I go through a G305 just about once a year. This most recent G305 is now having a wheel issue with the wheel moving/scrolling when its supposed to be stationary, the previous G305 was having mouse 1 stuck/switch issue. So moving inventory in ARPG/survival shooters became a hassle....ive even accidentially discarded/destroyed gear bc of this mouse 1/stuck issue. Its finally time i stepped up from the G305...to a better "quality" mouse with an internal battery/charging dock...and just generally/genuinely a higher price point/product. G305 just lacks quality, ive owened 3 bc i like G-hub and the G305 shape/consistency....but the fact that ive had 3 fail on me with different/isolated issues...has me against considering logitech or one of their 100$+ options bc of these QC issues, well see how long the feet last with a hard pad...bc the G305 out lasts the G604 feet by a pretty wide margin...within 6 months the G604 feet were GONE...at least the G305 will break in most cases b4 you need new feet. With the amount of clicks and click/holds in arpgs/looters etc they just dont last. I figured id try one of these optical switch razer wireless options. "on sale" of course. It has a 2 year warranty so by that time ill know if id need a warranty/replacement from all that arpg/click/move held clicks...and countless clicks in moba/looters as well. I may try to see if i can change the DPI hotkey to dpi "cycling" so i can re-map the dpi up button to an auto click macro which really helps in arpgs/looters/ games like escape from tarkov when you get kills and need to loot ideally as quick as possible...i can hold the loot button and use the auto click macro when enemies have backpacks full of loot and gear equipped...or even warzone 2 with its new looting system.
When does the glowing bar round the bottom of the charge station appear when you plug it in or do you have to be in the logitech page for that to happen? Mine just charges OK but I have no glowing bar round the bottom of the charge station?
Great review man. It made me finally decide which one to get between the newer one and the ultimate.
Thanks. I'm still very happy with the Ultimate.
And which one did you decide?
Great review man exactly what I was looking for!
Awesome, thank you!
Love my Ultimate. Cant work without it in my finicky 3D softwares

It's still a great mouse for me. And there are still plenty of great deals on it!
just bought Ultimate with a good price couple days ago, It is still good for me in 2023.
I've been very happy with mine. Just added a bid of a grip tape to the main 2 buttons, and it's been perfect.

TLDR
In the first 10 seconds I thought my cat was making noises
Premium box, cheaper box? LMFAO. Marketers love people like you.
First. Whoa under $70?!? I remember wanting this mouse but ended up getting my Logitech G703 instead because of price.
Yeah man. Picked it up for $67.99. It's a steal.
On Amazon there's one without the dock for 60 bucks cuz on sale
does teh asthetics of the ultimate look much worse trhan the v3 pro underlighting?
Would you say the basilisk ultimate would be good for Minecraft?
Yes, absolutely

Hm. Sorry for the late reply. Mine is always on, even when RGB software is running (in which case it just cycles Rgb)
How did you program the profile button on the bottom of the mouse to lock your computer?
In the Razer Synapse software. There is an option for that, I believe it's under Windows commands.
@@spacemsh Thank you.
so which one is your favorite i cant decide between the V3 or the Ultimate
The Ultimate.
Fragile tool 💥
Well don't go smashing it on your desk or throwing it around your house. It's not a hammer
The ultimate mouse is $99.99 at best buy. I just bought it yesterday
I got mine for 60 bucks on Amazon because it was on sale
