Thanks for posting this. Such a great show. I hope this was not the last time these guys play together. If and when they decided to play again I will be there. Long live the Brothers!
The great Chuck Leavell. The keyboard solo on this is off the charts. Hard to believe the song is from the '73 album Brothers & Sisters. 48 yrs ago! Well done Dickey!
Dickie isn't doing so well. Saw him on a recent show and he could barely keep up with the music and running out of breath singing. He wouldn't have been very good here.
Nobody who has seen him play recently would say that. As sad as it is, he no longer possesses the ability to play at the level that band plays at and he would only tarnish his legacy by making such a high profile appearance. The guy has nothing to prove and doesn't owe his fans anything. It does no good at all for him to show the world just how badly his skills have declined. Let the man enjoy his retirement with dignity. No true fan would want to see him embarrass himself like that.
Kevin Boyd - Yes I get it that Dickey can’t play anymore. I just feel it’s time to put the past behind. He’s as big a part of the legacy as anyone. To honor 50 years of the band and not include him is disrespectful. All that was last night was a glorified tribute band collecting a very nice pay check. I’d have much respect for them if they donated the proceeds to the big house!
@@dannydny 1. Some of the money from last night's show did go to the Big House. 2. Betts was invited but declined. It was his choice not to be included, not theirs. 3. The past has nothing to do with it. The guy just can't play at that level anymore. Right now. Today. In the present. Obviously there is no bad blood about the past, otherwise Jaimo wouldn't play at Dickey's shows and Derek wouldn't invite him to play with TTB. Warren is on record saying he would play with Dickey again. 4. Nobody says last night was anything other than a tribute to the legacy of the ABB. It was literally advertised as a tribute. The advertising used that exact word. Nobody was expecting them to bust out a new song or do anything other than play a set of familiar favorites. 5. I'm just curious, but in the 20 yrs since Betts left the ABB, how many times have you shelled out money to go see him play? Did you buy, or even listen to, either of the albums he released after his departure from the ABB?
Kevin Boyd Hey I respect your opinions. I’ve been entrenched in the band for a long time. I’ve been backstage to shows dating back to the original Great Southern and ABB shows in the late 70’s. I knew about lasts show way before it was even announced. If you have the inside scoop on Dickey turning down the gig well what can I say. I’ve seen Dickey enough to know that the alcohol got the best of him. It is what it is. All the best bro!
The band of all bands they are the BOMB
Truly wonderful song. Chills. Long live Dickey Betts - a great American song writer of the 20th Century. And what a band!
Derek ! Got the stage and making the best of fans , 🙌
Thanks for posting bro. I’m in Colorado but lived on i95 for 25 years and loved seeing ABB at the beacon. What an event. Killed it.

Holy crap that ending!! Amazing
Too bad they couldn’t have brought Les Dudek out for Jessica. He helped write it and played on it on the album
Great!
Where was Dickie Betts??? This is his song.

Someone know how to get the full concert??
Did you ever figure it out?
Alfonzo Winkler nope
Would have been nice if they had Dickey in for even a few tunes.

@@dannydny didn't need an inside scoop. It was in several articles about the event. His manager said he was invited but declined.
