Greatest MODERN blues guitarist. He has nothing on Skydog, imo. Don't get me wrong. I love me some DT. But Duane was on a whole OTHER LEVEL.

@@JC-11111 When Gregg Allman says that Derek Trucks is "who Duane would have became and then some" I would say that Derek is VERY much on Duane's level.
BB King once said that Derek Trucks was "the greatest he has ever heard" and BB heard plenty of Duane.
No need to argue who is on who's level.....just listen to the music play :)

Derek gets it. Like all great musicians, you pick up the music where the masters left it and take it where it has never been before with a respectful tip of the hat and you put you stamp on it. Derek is the new master.

Bingo! First time I saw him was right after he was formally introduced as a member of the ABB and I stood about 20' from the stage and could barely breathe - I was more or less turned into a pillar of salt, watching him play. I was simply not prepared for the perfection and nuance and the focus of the power that was pouring out of his fingers. When his solo ended and I could move again, I asked one of the tapers "Who was that kid?" And he said "That's Derek. He looks young, but he's been playing that stuff for a LONG LONG time."

It is rumored that Derek absorbs the powers of whoever signs his guitar.

A comic book supervillain with a “Kryptonite” evil plan: He runs in and escape notice from Derek’s roadie and go signhis guitar when no one is looking. Now Derek absorbs all his crappy guitar playing power. Can’t play guitar anymore. :3 Mwahahahahaha!

According to an article on Buddy Guy in a recent edition of the New Yorker "There are still some extraordinary musicians around who play and sing the blues with the sort of richness Guy admires". Derek Trucks is one of those listed. He certainly deserves that accolade.

This is the first time that I've really heard Derek Trucks play and all I can say is WOW!! This some of the most exciting guitar playing that I've even I heard. I can hear hear his heart in his playing. When you can do that ,you've really done something. This is REALl guitar playing, not masked by a lot of distortion or effects.
Who is the young man singing? Best slide guitar that I want to hear!!!

Frission: Frisson (French for 'shiver') is a sensation somewhat like shivering, usually caused by stimuli. It is typically expressed as an overwhelming emotional response combined with piloerection (goosebumps). Stimuli that produce a response are specific to the individual.
Frisson is of short duration, usually no more than 4-5 seconds, usually pleasurable.[1] Typical stimuli include loud passages of music and passages that violate some level of musical expectation
