I was hoping the X-Men graphic novel 'God Loves, Man Kills" would make the list. If you ever want to understand the mutant struggle in the comics, this is it. The opening is so powerful it will make you stop reading for a moment, just to take it in.
I was surprise God Loves, Man Kills didn't even make in the list, not even in the honorable mention. That sums up what mutant struggle is. Also Thor God Butcher story arc and Immortal Ironfist should also be in here.
My Top 5 favorite Marvel stories: 1.Marvels (the unique take was awesome and Alex Ross' art was the icing on the cake) 2. Old Man Logan 3. Planet Hulk 4. Daredevil: Born Again 5. Thor: The Surtur Saga
Arris is a perfect host! The way you guys show comic book images with cool subtle background music as Arris narrates is perfection! Keep up the awesome work!
laughs in Kingdom Come, almost all stories written by Geoff johns and Alan Moore, the Dark Knight Returns, Batman year one, Superman Red Son, DC the new Frontier, Batman the long Halloween and a lot more, but I don't know more out of my head,
Aw mannnn I love Marvels... You should do a video just on that series. Excellent art, interesting story, philosophical ideas etc. A fantastic mini story
they might've used google image search with a small poster to find a big one, and saved a large one and used it without noticing the language on it. not much of a big deal though.
One of my personal favorite for sure: Wolverine by Jason Aaron. I just love that he really humanized the character in such a way that I had to make Wolverine one of my favorite superheros. Sure, he's freaking awesome when he's on a rampage but to see more of his flaws and how well it was executed had me astonished.
Planet Hulk and World War Hulk are probably the coolest modern day story arcs. So damn good. Ragnarok did a decent job of scratching the surface of Planet Hulk. Just a phenomenal read
For me personally, I feel DC comics have slightly better characters, and definitely better storylines. But Marvel definitely is way better at bringing their characters to the big screen. But just my opinion.
The trial of Galactus should be on this list, a super important story that shows all that kills isn’t necessarily evil. The fear in the remaining inhabitants of the planets Galactus as devoured grabs you. Even Oden weighs in.
The night Gwen Stacy died was the one comic I cried on. I honestly wonder at times what would have happened to SpiderMan now if he killed the Green Goblin for it
Kraven's Last Hunt, Mutant Massacre, The Oath, God Loves Man Kills, The Death of Captain Marvel, Messiah Complex, Age of Apocalypse, Triumph and Torment, Weapon X, Back in Black........ any of these would have been better choices than Under Siege or Extremis.
The fact The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past were only 2 issues apart is wild. 2 of the greatest comic stories ever made, virtually back to back. Claremont's time on X Men might be the best comic run ever. He rarely missed and wrote on X Men for 16 years..
Good list but I felt (and hoped) number 1 would have been Infinity Gauntlet. I feel this story is epic and important for several reasons. It showed the combined efforts of many heroes to stop a cosmic threat. It also introduce many people to the Marvel cosmic hierarchy which expanded the idea of what is powerful. Seeing the cosmic beings for the first time and in action was just awesomeness!
Venus Dee if you wouldve actually listened to what he said at the beginning of the video then you wouldve realized infinity gauntlet cant qualify for this list. he said no crossover events.
jeremy roberts, well thats odd he would count it like that because WW Hulk was the same way. It had a main set of books and crossover events linked to it. The Xmen part of WWH was not part of the main 6 books. Infinity Guantlet has 6 main books independant of the crossovers.
can u do a spider verse storyline or a world war hulk storyline. Maybe u can do a history of vulture or shocker episode since Spider-Man homecoming is coming up
My favorite Marvel stories (No restrictions) : 1. Hickman's Fantastic Four 2. Planet/World War Hulk 3. Deadpool Killogy 4. X-Men: Fatal Attractions 5. X-Men: Days of Future Past 6. Old Man Logan 7. Siege 8. Dark Phoenix 9. Spiderverse 10. One More Day or The Clone Saga Okay #10, I couldn't type with a straight face! 😂
I would recommend Thor: The God of Thunder by Jason Aaron, especially issue 1-12, where Thor from 3 different eras have to battle Gorr the God Butcher, a villain who have haunted Thor for centuaries.
My top 10 Marvel stories of all time 1. X-Men The Dark Phoenix Saga 2. Daredevil Born Again 3. Planet Hulk 4. Captain America The Winter Soldier 5. Spider-Man Kraven's Last Hunt 6. Avengers Siege 7. X-Men Days Of Future Past 8. Iron Man Demon In A Bottle 9. Punisher Born 10. Old Man Logan
Okay after watching 3 videos of your top 10 countdowns Arris all I have to say is this, “ thank you for giving me easily at least one maybe 2 years worth of comic recommendations and story arcs if I am able to make it last that long which based off of what I am doing now probably will not happen.” I am currently reading both the very first Deadpool comics and the 2012 comic book series simultaneously and am going to have to say he’s putting up quite the hard fight to beat as my favorite character to read right now though as the saying goes only time will tell.
+Darkseid Lord of Apokolips Not everything should be a competition between these two companies simply because they equate in popularity-- that being said, it's kind of foolish to say merely one of them impacted the medium they each extensively contributed to. Variant and Emergency Awesome are my two go to guys about comics and superheroes. Variants focus is on comics, and Emergency Awesome is everything DC and Marvel relating to TV and Movies, both really informative and cool dudes.
Bryan Betz comicsexplained is another really good channel for comics. he actually breaks down the stories and goes through them with you explaining everything thats going on, what the characters are thinking at that moment and what it means for the larger overall story arc. he has covered pretty much all the popular and not so popular marvel and dc stories. he also does other stuff like the walking dead and some other comics. you should check him out.
My top 5 Marvel stories would be: 05.) _Alias_ 04.) _The Puhisher: In the Beginning_ 03.) _Wolverine: Old Man Logan_ 02.) _Daredevil: Born Again_ 01.) _Spider-Man: The Night Gwen Stacy Died_
Unfortunately, in the case of The Night Gwen Stacy Died, The Dark Phoenix Saga, and Days of Future Past, the impact of the original stories has been diluted by Marvel constantly revisiting them. My top 10 (in no particular order): 1. Bullseye vs. Electra 2. Astonishing Spider-Man and Wolverine 3. The Kree-Skrull War 4. Magneto Triumphant (X-Men 112-113) 5. Days of Future Past 6. Doctor Strange: Beezlebub on Parade 7. Spider-Man Annual 9: Siege Perilous 8. Daredevil: Born Again 9. Galactus vs. Everybody (Fantastic Four 242-244(?)) 10. Planet Hulk and World War Hulk 10. Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe(although, the ending was a bit confusing for me when I first read it)
My most favorite Marvel storylines are Spiderman: Kraven's Last Hunt, Spiderman: Torment, the 4 issue miniseries called Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller and Daredevil: Man Without Fear.

"I've created a human child, I know what I'm doing" BEST, QUOTE, EVER
Daredevil: Born Again is the best comicbook story ever written. If it's not on here there must've been a mistake.
Edit: Great list
Marcus Blixenkrone-Møller laughs in All-Star Superman
laughs in Kingdom Come, almost all stories written by Geoff johns and Alan Moore, the Dark Knight Returns, Batman year one, Superman Red Son, DC the new Frontier, Batman the long Halloween and a lot more, but I don't know more out of my head,

they might've used google image search with a small poster to find a big one, and saved a large one and used it without noticing the language on it. not much of a big deal though.
It was probably under free use in the Google images

Kraven's Last Hunt is by far my favorite Spider-Man story. And Planet Hulk/World War Hulk is one of the best written Hulk stories to date.
Immortal hulk?
Swamp Thing vs. Groot
swamp thing stomps he is basically planet earth
First off, Groot is made entirely of nature. Swamp thing controls nature. But I feel like Man thing would win Swamp thing in a fight.
BlinkThenDie swamp thing would stomp man thing so bad its not even funny
swamp thing, he can't die unless all the green on the planet die
Not a fair comparison. It should be Man Thing vs Swamp Thing.
And Man Thing would demolish him.
The ballad of Beta Ray Bill and Hickman's run on Fantastic Four are two of my favorite stories

Tbt I feel like DC have the better stories and the ones that really elevated comics to another level either way I love both companies
But Frank Millers Daredevil and The Death of Gwen Stacey were on this list, and both those comics actually *did* elevate the medium....
