Who loves kimbap? Well, have you heard of triangle Kimbap? It is very popular in Korea, as well as other asian countries, because it is a simple meal on-the-go that is delicious. The filling can be whatever your heart desires, but today, we are going to show you guys our favorite fillings. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS (yields ~6 triangle kimbaps)
For the rice:
4 bowls of rice
1 Tbsp of sesame oil
1/3 tsp of salt
1/2 Tbsp sesame seeds
6 sheets of triangle kimbap wrapper
For the tuna mayo:
1 can of Tuna
1/8 Cups of chopped onion
6 small-medium sized perilla leaves (optional)
3 Tbsp Mayonnaise
For the gochujang beef:
1 Cup ground beef
1 Tbsp garlic
1 Tbsp gochujang
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1/2 Tbsp sesame oil (to taste)
DIRECTIONS
For the Gochujang Beef:
1. In a frying pan, cook ground beef until browned. Then add garlic, soy sauce, gochujang, sugar. Add sesame oil to taste. Mix and cook thoroughly.
For the tuna: Full shot explanation
1. Cut perilla leaf in the shape of the triangle by placing the mold over the leaf and cutting edges off.
2. In a bowl, add drained tuna, mayonnaise, and chopped onions. Mix until well combined.
For the rice:
1. Mix rice, sesame oil, salt, and sesame seeds.
Assembling:
1. Lay a triangle kimbap seaweed sheet (laver) down. The side with numbers should be face down and upright.
2. Place the mold onto the seaweed sheet and fill with some rice a third of the way.
3. Place the filling of your choice on top of the rice in the mold towards the center (2/3 of the way).
4. Add the remaining third of the space in the mold with rice.
5. Fold the seaweed upwards and down along the angled sides. Tape down the wrap with the given tape.

I noticed that it has small opening on the side after wrapping the plastic with it. So air will get in
Hi Sandra! Depending on what you put in it it can be okay for the next day. So for ours we had one with ground beef and one with Mayo which should be refrigerated so next day will not be okay unless you have them in the fridge, but that might also make the rice hard.

Okay! The best is to make it for the day and eat it then! But for it to be safe it’s best in the fridge although you have to sacrifice the hardness of the rice 🍚

@@sromero6738 you're the sweetest!! If you want something that's safer for him to eat for lunch, I would suggest possibly taking out the beef and add the gochujang sauce to the rice so it's like a bibimbap. And make him a gochujang sauce rice triangle kimbap. Also, if you have one of those reusable ice coolers that you can add to his lunchbox, that would be be the best option!

Couldve just done a Flag fold... it makes the triangle. This was so extra.
This mold is so the seaweed doesn’t touch the rice and get soggy until the moment you have to eat it, so the seaweed from this package and mold are necessary!
Also to make sure everything is compact and tight. I’ve tried without the triangle and it doesn’t hold up!

Yes! In Korean it’s translated to triangle kimbap because kimbap means seaweed and rice. So anything wrapped in it is kimbap!
