Season 3 of The Rising of the Shield Hero has introduced a lot of new characters, including Sadeena, Atla, Fohl, Wyndia, S'yne, and Rat. In this spoiler free video I take a look at why so many new characters - especially waifus - are appearing in the current arcs, as well as giving some background on each of the new female characters. - Фільми й анімація

Regardless of the layers of clothing that you have to wear or the chattering of your teeth, it is always good to hear from you, Lore Hero.
I've always thought that part of the point in Rising of the Shield Hero was that, even if you are one of the chosen ones, the universe still doesn't revolve all around you. The cultures of the world aren't going to just bend and adopt your beliefs about the morals of slavery, they're going to have their own goals because they're not NPCs. I don't even mind their use of the multiverse, because they don't treat people from different universes like their lives don't matter or aren't real.

I think underneath the various t-shirts, hoodies, scarves and hats I still probably look like a woman but nobody can really say.... There is no glamour to be found here right now :(

@@NatalieXHunter I am fascinated by S'yne as a character. Her Glitched speech is an adorable, if slightly tragic, character trait.
Her introductory backstory of being a survivor from a world that was destroyed by the Waves is incredibly intriguing.
I get the impression that the information Naofumi can gather between Raftalia's, S'yne's and the other world will be vital to genuinely saving the world/s in a way that's not been attempted.
I get the impression that when the Waves occur in any particular world, it represents two or more worlds colliding in some way.
And when the Various heroes and people of each world discover or learn that it's another world causing the waves; They instinctively percieve it as a zero sum game of world vs world, thus would attempt to save their own world and only their own people.
It may actually be the case that to truely save the world/people like the Filolial Queen is demanding of Naofumi; Maybe they need to work together with the Heroes and people of BOTH worlds to defeat the waves on both sides, all to integrate the other world with their own. Rather than destoying one or the other.
Failing that, they may need to attempt to work together to migrate the heroes and people of the other world to Raftalia's wolrd to Save the people of both worlds.
I suspect the later of the two more as it was stated, the waves are much more destructive on the other side thatln the waves in Raftalia's world.
Add to that the Spirit Water being a remarkably effective potion for Glass's Race of people, migrating or intergrating their world into Raftalia's world seems to make the most sense as a solution.
Given the destuction wrought by the Waves, not integrating the other world or migrating it's people over only weakens Raftalia's (Any really) World through attrition alone.
Worlds that survive the Waves are still ravaged by the end of them, it seem's likely they never have enough time between surviving one clash of worlds to the next to recover what is lost overall.
Intuitively, the clashing of worlds seem's like a fight for survival against eachother, when it's more likely that in order to "Win" they need to work with the other world to become stonger together.
Be it by defeating the Waves on both sides to integrate both worlds together or have the weaker worlds people abandon it & migrate to the stronger world.
The interaction of Vassal Weapon Heroes other denizens of one world being able to get stronger overall during the Waves by leveling up in the other world is likely a key aspect of "Winning" the right way.
The fact that The Sacred Weapon Heroes are usually not permitted to cross to the other side may have more to do with them being more powerful by default and generally summoned from parallel Earth's (Thus being temporary Heroes by default) more than anything else.
They are likely chosen and resticted like this in order to guide the people and Vassal Weapon Heroes using their sense of modern morality.
As with this modern sense of morality and generally higher level of education, they should be able to figure out a means of saving both worlds or at least how to save both worlds people.
That's not to say that any of the worlds people that are summoned to are dumb or don't have a decent sense of morality, just that it seems that they are usually less educated due to having magic (thus not needing to develop scientific knowledge as much) and maintain older societal traditions like Monarchs, nobility, feudalism and slavery.
As such, these worlds people are conditioned by default to "Other" that which is different by default and would see the revelation that the Waves are caused by another World colliding with their own as an attack by that World instinctively.
Whereas, a Summoned Hero may have the capacity to see that it's not the case. They may simply see it as happenstance or as a means of saving the people of one world by bringing them over to the world they were summoned to.
As ultimately the Sacred Weapon Heroes of any world are sacrificial by default, the sad truth may be that they alone will remain in a doomed world after helping transport the people of their own world to the other one.
Maybe that itself is the actual requirement in order for a Sacred Weapon Hero to be permitted to leave the wold they were summoned to (Massive copeium on my part to save Kisuna from that fate).
@@soulsurvivor8293 your suppositions are intriguing, especially if you haven't caught up with the light novels yet. I won't tell you how accurate you are, but I will say that the waves don't always connect the same worlds.
One brief thing about S'yne...it's the deterioration of her weapon (including its ability to translate) that is causing the glitch. I'm not sure how clear the anime made that point.

Although I do love Sadeena, even more when paired with SPOILER....my favorite is our adorable sewing girl. Her dedication is adorable and she is so sincere.
Unfortunately of all the waifus, Sadeena is probably the only one close to my age range, and even she might be too young (sometimes I wish these characters were all aged up 5-10 years). My daughter is 23. I feel old.
I saw the Raph plushie S'yne made Naofumi in one episode but I really wish they had shown her giving it to him, since that was the thing thay really won him over to her. But they've kinda left his Raph obsession in the cut content.
Also, future revelations for her make her even more intriguing. I wish the next volume was out already.

She's back !!! Hi Natalie love the outfit and what i want for Christmas honestly.... i want you for Christmas not in that kind of way but as a friend.
First off welcome back.
And yeah most of the Waifus are usually in it for the long con and their plot stories don't get revealed until a vol or 2 down the line. With usually their personality being first introduced. And we did need more rivals to Raphtalia outside of Raph-chan(who's her biggest rival) and we not only got the Big sis Sadenna who can show her appeal and to great effect, but also Atla, who isn't afraid to try and claim Naofumis heart despite having numerous obstacles in her way. And is personally my favorite with her out there attitude.
With Rat and S'yne their stories are the long con with tying the story into place. With Rat story really getting into the monster creation in recent volumes. While S'yne story can be the second story that ties into the main story and all the while S'yne slowly becoming the second best supporter.
The shocker to me was Wyndia backstory having more thought and content than even the LN. It was a welcoming one and honestly it improved her character and the love that she had for the "deceased" farther.

Dont have much opinion on Ratotille or Wyndia. I do wonder if Ratotille scientific endeavors are misunderstood or mad. Does remind of Rakshata from Code Geass.
Ratotille is kinda unconventional and a bit mad-scientisty, but she is also a nice person. She doesn't get much focus until the arc the LNs are currently on though, so she's more a quirky addition to the village for now.

Atla was personally my fave of the new girls. She reminds me of Toph Beifong from, amusingly, Avatar the last airbender, which is abbreviated to ATLA. She's more girly than Toph and less abrasive, but both are total powerhouses with a serious disability that they do not let define them. I then looked up what happens...
Yeah, I can see the Toph vibes. I think there are a lot of differences, given they're both good, unique characters, but she does have that Toph feel sometimes when she's using her skills.

I feel like they're not giving Atla the same level of characterization she received in the book. It feels like we know nothing about her in the anime.

Essentially allowing the surface level characterisation of her to settle as the norm, before hitting us with her more detail and nuance to her when needed.

I Liked Atla being even more forward towards Naofumi then Sadina, a shame that Naofume being Naofume we know he want's nothing to do with any of that, she is very pretty as well.
I really loved Syne's design, i wouldn't mind if she became part of the Naofume "harem", but sadly i doubt it tho

@@Ricardo_RickOver her in Australia we are getting the heat with a massive wave of Humidity, being outside is like being smothered in a thick heating blanket all over.
Not as hot, only 30-33⁰C most days and 27-29⁰C on days when it's pouring down with rain.
But the added Humidity and lack of consistent wind makes it feel a few degrees hotter overall.
We had 3 or so years of the dry summers here, lookng at 2-4 wet summers from this one on.
So sorry that it's your turn on the cycle for the dry summers over there now. Stay safe and hydrated mate.

I´d like to call the Ratatouille, just like Naofumi did, the first time round. When i saw her my first tought was the she looks like Rakshata from Code Geass and also seams to take a similar role. Im really luke warme on her since she really just droped in for no apperent reason other than having since type of person around.

I scared that there will not be a season 4 of Rising of the Shield hero based on all the reaction I have been coming across this year.
LunarEquinox, just did a video titled "The Insane Falling Of The Shield Hero" and 414Anime, also did a video titled "Is Shield Hero DEAD?!". I would like to know your take on the current state of the Rising of the Shield Hero Anime, to see if my fears are unfounded.
I would focus more on how Japan is viewing the season. Exterior market does not have much pull/say

Because Sine is from a world that has ended so her translation thing is malfunctioning. Glass's world is still there so they don't have the issue.
I find Atla's interest in Naofumi annoying and unnecessary, but her interest might push Raphtalia to be braver, if only out of jealousy.
It’s so annoying and unnecessary, like we don’t need any other love interest currently but to just focus on their development, it’s so unfair to Raphtalia character who saved him from the darkness when nobody was there for him, helped him be able to taste food, comforted him, and always put her life on the line for Atla to come in and try to steal the spotlight then actually gets jealous when she knows how shy Raphtalia is, she should be trying to ship her with Naofumi

Well, yes, I mean, if you like reading LNs and you like Shield Hero as a series, you'll probably get more out of the light novels because a lot of stuff has been skipped in the course of the anime (especially in season 2). But an anime should be able to stand on its own, and I think season 3 was much better than season 2.

Somethin is risin & it's not the shield hero, it's the sudo harem of WAIFUS lol. Really tho it's both a cool & smart choice to me to have characters that R kinda in the background after bein introduced only to have more importance later on. Gives more time to build up to their stuff, doesn't make 1 arc too bloated or out of control, & when u reach their turnin point it's a nice surprise of "oh u're THIS important". Syne is the 1 I'm most interested in rn since the weird stuff goin on wit her speech seems (to me) very obv not purposeful on her part nor natural however she seems to know really important stuff. I also jus like the little bits of gap moe lol. Rat really did jus show up outta nowhere & idk if the author wanted to legit catch the audience off guard or if it was a thing of "don't wanna spend time/idk how so I'll jus plop u in here" kinda deal. Her convenience is convenient tho lol. Jus need the mermaid "Milf" to go "Ara Ara" if she hasn't alr & we're set.
S'nye's speech issue is related to her vassal weapon (and with it the translation function) deteriorating due to her world being destroyed. There really isn't anything more to the speech issue.
Rat has a decent role to play, and she and Wyndia sometimes conflict over the monsters but it's more for the future.
Sorry, but my favorite waifu is Atla. Her smug attitude yet caring nature made me instantly fall in love with her. Her "Kill Bill" moment is simply good!
Atla is great like that, love the rapid transition from near dead weakest to one of the most valuble people in Naofumi's group.
She's blind but still able to utterly wreck most other characters regardless of how much higher they are than her in level.
Honestly would be awesome to see all of Naofumi's new Beastfolk party members level up (Subsequently also age up) soon.
Even the Blacksmithing Beastfolk character that went to train with Naofumi's Blacksmith in Melromarc, they will be such a massive help with equipment maintenance & manufacturing for his group and the Beastfolk Village.
Looking forward to Keel's increase in levels & age, especially the revelations and character development that comes from it.
The fact that Keel is able to transform like Sadeena (Tharianthrope Beastfolk thing) is a key aspect and becomes an adorable character trait where Keel prefers to be in Wolf form to Beastfolk as a result of ageing from leveling.
@@soulsurvivor8293the moleperson with the blacksmith is already an adult. They trained together under another master previously.
The other beast folk probably won't mature as fast as Raphtalia because they aren't going exclusively with Naofumi. Notice several already classed up (level 40-50) and are still children while Raphtalia hit adulthood at a much lower level. They are receiving some benefits from the crest, but not as much as if they partied with him every day.
Keel is going to definitely have an interesting future.

It is spelled out better in the light novels. While the potion cured her disease, it will not cure her blindness.

As much as I ship Raphtalia and Naofumi, Seedena and Naofumi seems to be a better fit for him. She has that maturity and experience that Raphtalia doesn't.

S'yne may be short, but while I can't remember if it was definitively stated in the light novels, there are enough context clues to imply she is older than Naofumi.

Man Season 3 of Shield Hero fell of hard. Season 2 was already weak but as i have heared it covered a lowpoint of the source material i gave it another chance.
Random new characters, way to deluted characters and then it even feels kinda rushed as well. I think this is a IP where the author had a good idea and premise but the train derailed a few chapters in and the autor didnt have the quality skills to extent their premise to a full story.
Shield Hero's been meh since S2. I ended up dropping it in the middle of S3.
