This is one of the greatest sequels despite being released 14 years after the original. Harper not having success after Unfinished Business was his karma for airing out his dirty laundry in the original movie. You should watch The Best Man Final Chapters. Next week’s review is Last Holiday.
I watched that show. It was...not that good. The original movie did not need a sequel, but you could tell the creator really dedicated his life to this characters and just wanted to continue everything until its end.
@@Not_Always The series was good in my opinion. It had me thinking about some other movies that could have been coverted into a series: Mo Money Class Act Above The Rim Who’s The Man The Inkwell A Thin Line Between Love & Hate Love Jones How To Be A Player Belly The Wood Love & Basketball Money Talks Sunset Park He Got Game Baby Boy Three Strikes The Wash The Players Club Hustle & Flow Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins
I love the Best Man franchise SO MUCH. Great acting, great chemistry, and genuinely interesting characters. It was weird that Harper tried to write a whole BIOGRAPHY behind Lance’s back without at least trying to allude to it 😭.
Murch def got on my nerves in this movie 🤦🏾♂️ I would’ve never showed my homies an embarrassing tape of my wife’s past! Especially without discussing why they wouldn’t sponsor the school!
I’m telling you, Q was my favorite! He was honest with everyone but also had compassion. The scene with Mia’s funeral will definitely give you tears! Especially when Lance breaks down, I can’t! 😭
Harper was so wrong for not telling his wife that he lost his job. She wanted a baby with a WORKING man. He lost that job months - a year ago then likely drained his savings. Remember: Quentin lent him $10,000+ credit (he co-signed on a card with him). So how much time between losing his job, running out savings, asking for the loan, and Quentin asking in the movie for an update on payment? He waited for to get her pregnant and in her 3rd trimester before finally being forced to tell her. He didn't even try to save what little he had by reducing their spending (to keep the image up to his wife)!
I cried at the movies when Lance broke down. Now I cry every time I watch this movie: when the women found out about Mia, when the guys Comforted Lance, and Jordan crying in the bathtub 😩💔Last Holiday is next. This is one of my comfort movies I watch every year.
I always loved Quentin & Mia when it comes to how they held their friends together. They truly were the glue. I love how real but funny Quentin was. He was honestly one of my favorite characters!😂😍😍
I should’ve known their marriage was doomed ever since Harper proposed to Robyn at lance and Mia’s wedding, plus she was never that comfortable around the crew anyways.
Fun Fact: The Ladies actually did a routine to Aaliyah's Rock The Boat but it was cut due to time. Why it wasn't released as a bonus scene, I'll never know! They could've played it during the credits... SOMETHING! And BTW, Shelby has been my fave since the first Best Man! She always steals the show! 😹 Can't wait for your review on Last Holiday! 🩷
@joshuamcdowell9745 Not sure about that one, but a few of the ladies said it was Rock The Boat...which I thought was an interesting choice but a sensual one for the ladies to cut up to. I wondered if Barry Hankerson (the notoriously shady head of her label Blackground Records) blocked it's use for the film.
I haven't watched the recap yet, but based off the title alone I want to say that I, too sobbed in the theater watching this alone. I didn't have any tissues and had to use my gloves to mop my eyes and nose. I was embarrassed walking out the theater with me eyes all red when it ended. 😄
this was a good movie. I remember the scene where morris chestnut character dropped at the graveyard I cried my eyes out. I watched this the night before my dad’s funeral so that scene really got me
I’ve always loved this movie but it’s so sad that Mia died in Christmas. That made me cry 😢 so much. I hope you review Big Momma’s house, Barbershop, and Roll Bounce. That would be great.
I always look forward to the Knockin the Boots segment of your videos. 😂 Great breakdown as always. This movie exceeded my expectations when it first came out. They did a great job continuing the plot of the first movie while adding new twists. The series that came out a few years ago was great too!
Mia died really hit lance hard at the cemetery he try so hard to hold it in but he broke down it makes you want to cry to see a man losing his wife the mother of his kids
I saw this at the theater in SC. When the scene with Lance soobing at Mia's resting place, i lost my cool. The tears just kept coming. Everything about the best man movie is everything.
20:53 the NEW best man series??!! Since when?? This was the last one I knew about 😂😭 I watched this movie before the first one and it’s so good on its own. I was invested in the characters and cried so much when Mia passed. Then I watched the first movie and was even more invested in the cast 😂❤
I watched The Best Man first then I watched The Best Man Holiday and they're both good movies- the Holiday made me cry- but I would HATE these people as my friend group. THEY'RE SO MESSY!! Robin is better than me because I would've left Harper and that friend group 😭
This was me and my children father first date movie and when I tell you me and him was in the theater crying our eyes out I love this movie and to me this was my favorite best man movie
Harper grew a little from his mistakes but Jordan gave the vibe she was kind of opportunistic. Which isn't really a *bad* thing but... you've seen this friend group.
I think I might have only seen this once more after my first time and had the nwrve to cry while you were recapping the story. This movie is still hurting my feelings til this day. 😩 I've heard about The Final Chapter, but i haven't seen it yet and this is making me want to see what's next.
If you ever get the chance, I would love for you to review the Best Man: Final Chapters series. It’s so f*kin good, you’d love it. You would also wanna slap Robyn on the back of ha head, chile. 😂
Girl I don't know cause I wasn't crying, I was mad as hell! Mia most likely died from cervical cancer caused by HPV that she got from her sex addicted husband.....but nobody wants to talk about that!
@@ajenesolomon1982 HPV can lie dormant for decades. You can get it from sexual contact with a partner that has it, but it often takes 10+ years to manifest and become full-blown cancer. Listen, just watching this recap made the tears immediately fall again. This movie came out right when a friend of mine had just passed and that scene where Lance finally breaks down at the grave BROKE ME. This movie had no reason being this good
I was 13 when I saw this. It was actually before I ever saw The Best Man. I absolutely loved the music in the movie. I listen to a few songs every year. That grave scene broke my little heart. And I wondered if that little girl belonged to Quentin.
This movie made me cry. I re-watch it at my cousin's house and forgot about it. I'm so mad they killed off Mia, and the monkey paw scene was funny. Can you do a review on the Tv show they made on the aftermath
As someone later in life watching Best Man movies. It really blow mines at the thought of my close friend writing a book about me behind my back to make a dollar off of me. Like how Lance forgave Harper is beyond mee 😩😩
Last Holiday for the next movie. Which makes me think of "The Perfect Holiday". You should do that too sometime this season. The Best Man franchise is easily one of the best things in Black cinema. The chemistry, the actors, it’s fantastic all around.
In 2013, the best Men holiday movie ever you have seen before.🧑🎄🎄🎁🌨️☃️
They ain’t have to kill off Mia😩 But the movie is so good.
IKR I didn’t see it coming the first time
I believe it was to spite Lance
Apparently, they had to because the actress playing Mia was retiring from acting to take care of her disabled son.
When Marsha Ambrosious sung at the funeral, that only had me in tears.
Every single time

sameee the way i started SOBBING 😭
That got me too.
Still my favorite rendition of As

Right? That's crazy.
It always annoyed me how he approached them about it before he approached her 😐 are you married to your friends?! Wtf 😂

I just finished watching that today! It's one of my favorite movies.
Queen Latifah is underrated. Yes, she pretty much play the same person outside of Set it off(where she played herself lol) but she's damn good at it.
Great movie!! ❤

I was 8 months pregnant sobbing in the theater, when lance was at the grave site. Babyyyyy😢😢
