UPDATE: I WENT OUT AND FISHED TODAY. I FOUND THAT AS WAS RECCOMMENED IN THE COMMENTS TM...I FOUND THAT PUTTING THEVANCHIRS IN FROM DIRECTLY INTO THE GROMMET HOLES IS BEST. USING THE ROPE LIFTS THE SKIRT IN FRONT. STILL NEED THE ROPE FOR BACK. WIRKED PERFECT. THANKYOU ALL FOR WATCHING AND COMMENTING
Good luck fishing e we don’t have iced over water here in Alabama. But thanks for sharing. You might need to get you a marlin spike knife to loosen them knots.
Yesterday's video.... "I have a box full of knives I need to hurry up and review" Today's video....Let's go fishing! 😆😆 Just teasing ya lol, Love the outdoorsy vids too!
Yep that's me...wait squirrel...gotta go...lol. I plan on a review every week, a fish every week and restore every week a...yep all over the place. Lol be safe my friend
This was a great idea. I learned a new trick. Can't go ice fishing around here , the weather is confusing, I woke up this morning and thought I'd moved back to socal , it was frightening lol. Be careful on the ice my friend. Well done George !
I wil go ice fishing tomorrow But there no ice here ha I stay in the home ha No fishing for me no more But enjoy george to ice fishing Nice video JJ NL🇳🇱
Nice set up George! I used ice anchors to keep my pop up shanty from blowing away too. I did something similar but instead of rope I used the black rubber tie downs. Easy to hook up and break down and they flex a little. A tip I used for my holes inside was I bored my 6” hole and I put another one about 6” to 8” behind it on an angle. That way I didn’t have break my neck all day bending over my hole. I could see my lure perfectly through the peep hole as I called it. It saved my back and neck. If you use a fish finder you probably don’t have to worry about that though, but I couldn’t afford that. Happy fishing my friend! Wish I could still go out but my disabilities won’t allow it. Finally sold my Eskimo 2 man pop up and all my gear last Spring. That was a very sad day! But hey, now I have knives to keep me happy! 😃 Stay safe on the ice!
Rather than go through the front skirt where they might tear out perhaps use metal strapping and go around the metal tubing frame and the anchors can go through a hole in the metal strapping or you could even use hose clamps to go around the tube frame and through the anchors you have drilled into the ice , that would be a attachment that would not tear out the fabric of the skirting cloth, just thinking out loud here. Good information George for other applications like setting a tent on grass even
👍 Well done, George! But wouldn't an ice screw, like those used for ice climbing, have been better? You don't need an extra cordless screwer to screw them climbing ice ancher/screw in ice. 💪
To go ice fishing here in Texas I would have to do in a kayak or a boat and the only ice would be the frost on the trees and brush and grass and in my ice chest ! Or maybe on my mustache!
Way over thunk this one. Especially if have power auger..beauty is easy moves about..umm, simple screwdriver for them anchors..drill two holes in bottom and done…first anchoring is the tow rope around the auger partly drilled. Swing as clock, drill two holes, then back over holes. Fire up heater as screwing two anchors though floor behind, nary even needed. Ima an old fan of Clam. First was crazy setup as a tent with tube pipes..awesome once set up, but nutso in wind setup. I near gave away sold as my one man flipover to pals. Two up is warm as toast…edges having slots for 1 x 2s one just kicks snow on if needed, inside flap kick ice from hole. Insulated flips for such cost just seems nutso. ..if any snow the single auger anchor is all that’s needed..zoom zoom, I missed where them slabs are. Yup, still using my 90s two wide. ..zip door looks nice, but the cost seems silly to me. ~ Frabil speed shack is heavy, but with floor. Shakes me mane of the today’s pop ups with no floor. So bulky one still needs a sled. Cute cover for your Clam. Thats just for the yard right? (-:
Of course a bit of ducking. You’re much more the adventurer than I’ve ever been. But, I’ve ice fished in many of conditions…500 yards from front door beginning. …2.5 to 3 inch ice with my fish bud in my two up Clam early ice…a snowmobile came from out of blue, pulled a shite-hooker and left. Crikey, I saw the ice wave coming from fity/forty yards off…”get ready Tom” lol, water came up through our holes. Counted blessings got outa there.

Yep the problem is the poles are not very strong and bend. Be safe my friend
👍
Well done, George!

You don't need an extra cordless screwer to screw them climbing ice ancher/screw in ice. 💪
The anchors can be put in by hand, but takes more time, and it is harder to do
@@tm3716 Thx! I climbed 18 years long in caves, but never on a ice wall or frozen waterfall.
I am not sure. These are fairly long got to go in about 6 inches into ice. I did it by hand today. No problem. Be safe my friend

Lol...no fush under that ice...lol. he safe
I will no doing this to mine as well, but I will be putting the anchors directly into the grommets in the front part, using a cam strap on the back
My reason is that the way he is doing it will not sit flush at the front
I went out today and put the anchors directly in to the grommets. It worked well. Appreciate you watching and commenting be safe out there
