this car is such match up to the skillful driver,look at those high speed corner, erase up all distance that dragged out by the straight instantly and give the car in front massive pressure.
Fantastic driving. Enjoyed watching that. GTi was fast but should have let you pass way before it did!

We were very impressed with them.
Needs some cooling addons. Doesn’t look like a hot day. Seen nuerburgring videos on a warm day where this things dramatically overheat and cant even do one lap without going into limp mode
Great video. Have you had any issues with oil temp or had to do anything supporting mods
Highest temp we've seen is mid-130 degrees. No issues other than that. No mods. Just change the oil more regularly. 👍🏻
Appreciate that. I watched a video of one getting to 150deg on track so presumed you had to fit an oil cooler maybe. Which was the reason for the question
Yet to see the Elantra N's oil go past 120 Celsius
There is clearly a lot more pace in the corners on the FL5, those other cars have no chance on a hot lap.

What was the ambient temp? You had sustained 135+ oil temp and 100+ coolant temp there. Probably going to need some cooling upgrades as it gets warmer?
About 16 degrees ambient on the day. You may be right. 👍
@@TrackAli Honda talked a lot about improving the cooling issues the FK8 has on track as well. What oil do you use? I use Millers Motorsport CFS and even that is only good for sustained 125c
@@k20ee96 We swapped out the standard stuff for Castrol Edge 5w-30 after the 1200 mile run-in period.
@@TrackAli it won't like those temps for too long for sure. Might be worth looking at an oil cooler and alloy rad if anything is out for the FL5 yet. Would hate to see engine damage from the oil breaking down!
the bores are scored at this point.
just pull out the plugs and check with hi res endoscope....

255 / 35 R19 Yokohama A052 tyres - a little narrower than the OEM 265 fitment. 👍

@@Gloupsyland You did very well. We ran PS4S road tyres on our Golf R and found it great for a few laps at a time. Best in the Golf was a 2:57. 👌

@@petertyper1 I haven't spotted not one mk5 or mk6 GTI in the wild that hasnt been chipped already. They are very fast in the straights.

We haven't run into issues per se but oil and water temps have been high. 👍🏻
