Great Video. I have lived in Bromesberrow all my life, nearly 60 years. The spelling of Bromesberrow has changed over the years and it is said there has been over 150 different spellings through out the years, probably a world record. To this day there are two. Bromesberrow and Bromsberrow.
lowfieldspaddock6982. I lived in Bromsberrow Heath for only 5 years as a teenager. During that period in my first employment I worked at Kings Green Engineering as it was called then in 1972. I used to cycle past the nursery on my left and then take the turning right a bit further down the road. I'm sure the business doesn't exist now but fond memories.
@lowfieldspaddoci6982. Firstly I am using my wife's computer hence the name "Susan". I (John) lived in Bromsberrow Heath from 1970 to 1975. Sadly I have never returned since. My father built 3 bungalows in a lane called "Sand fields". We lived in the middle of the three. Directly opposite was a pub called the Bell Inn. Not even sure if it's still there today. As a teenager I would cycle to Bromsberrow to work at " Kings Green Engineering" as a screen printer. It was a business run by the "Rann " family. That has probably shut down many years ago. It was very near some Stables. I remember several people who worked there with the name "Merrick". This must have been quite a common name locally at the time. My grandfather who passed before I was born used to live at "Hill House" by Chase end Hill. His surname was also Hill. Many fond memories of the 5 years I lived there and probably wouldn't recognise it now.
It seems that we're looking at your videos in random fashion, Patrick! Malvern Hills Part 2 the other day, and now Part 1 today. Anyway, this is a great place to watch you on your scenic walks and discover the beautiful locations within this area. St.Mary's church looks so splendid with it's unusual architecture. Chase End and Ragged Stone Hills have the most marvellous distant views from them. Many thanks, Patrick.
The Malvern Hills are just devine, so it was great to make a series of films back in 2019 covering the whole ridge. Chase End is the gentler end and the other end is much more dramatic and higher up. Glad you enjoyed this Ffranc, thanks for watching 👍
Fantastic, loved that,a new Solitary Rambler is always a special event, always look forward to them, but even more so after the recent trailer, genuinely better than any of the walking type programmes on tv,thanks for sharing Patrick and for all the work you've single handedly put into making it,thrilled to see you back with new films, watched every minute of every one and love them. Pete 👍
I can remember climbing Chase End Hill the very first time I visited the Malverns in 2016 - not easy by any stretch of the imagination! Good to see you exploring these hills, Patrick, as many people don't. Looking forward to more from you. All the best.
Hi Olly, I've only visited Chase End Hill once before and as you say many people don't explore this part of the hills. I like this more tranquil end of the Malverns. Thanks for watching Olly. All the best to you. Cheers, Patrick :)
Like a breath of fresh air you are ..welcome to Os maps on your phone we swear by them .... Glad to see you back out doing what you love and Thank you for sharing your walks with us all .. Ps Thanks for the church visit ...great stain glass windows ... Best Wishes from us both Patrick ...Frank & Lee..
It's a great app isn't it, I never stop using it now. Thanks as always Frank and Lee for your lovely comments and for watching, pleased you enjoyed this first part of my Malvern Hills series. Cheers, Patrick :)
Wonderful that you are back Patrick. I particularly liked following you on this walk as it let me relive the wonderful walks I did over much of the Malverns back in May/June whilst house-swapping near Ross-on-wye. Such a beautiful area and so green.
@@solitaryrambler Thoroughly enjoyable Patrick with a fresh brew. Once again you inspired me with your walk and the memories invoked my friend. Paul and I camped on Chase End Hill in the late 90's and later walked through to Ledbury via the hills and Bromsberrow. Coming through Whiteleaved Oak we got some water of a chap in the far left cottage as you approach. Aaah, brilliant as was your take on it all. A handy app I must say but I do like the challenge. Well, good going - Eastnor way next. All the best as always. Mark
So glad to have inspired you Mark, I can just imagine how wonderful camping on Chase End Hill would have been for you and Paul. I love that tranquil spot, so different from the more northern hills. I actually sat and had my lunch in Whiteleaved Oak quite close to that cottage where you and Paul got your water - I wonder if that chap is still there? The OS app is great, and I think I would have liked the challenge too had I done this walk more leisurely without the camera with me. Eastnor way could well indeed be next Mark. As always my friend thanks for your comments, watching and your all round support. Have a brilliant week. All the best. Cheers, Patrick :)
@@solitaryrambler It was a good camp Patrick. I can't remember the spot now but I do remember at night going down to a pub on its easterly flank. Nice place to have lunch - I bet you were nice and relaxed. Yeah we do like the maps and the human side of it. When it feels natural for Eastnor I reckon. Well, Always a pleasure to comment and watch. I'll do my best in the week.
Following on from the last video of yours that i watched in the forest of Dean. This walk caught my eye. We only walked up chase end hill though. Kid's were moaning!
Hi Patrick. Another great walk, great film and great editing. I notice ‘Chase’ is spelt ‘Chace’ on one of the footpath signs, and ‘Chase’ on the information board. 😂😂😂😂😂
Gday Patrick , nice to see how green everything is .. The complete opposite of what its like in Australia atm . If you can imagine all that green as been burnt all of it that is what its like here all black .. Im ok where i am just . My channel shows what its been like for me for a whole month watching the fire encroach .
Awful what's happened in Australia, can't begin to imagine what it's been like for you over there. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Patrick :)

Hi Paul, glad thanks for your lovely comments, you enjoyed it. Yes Chase/Chace was as confusing to me as Bromesberrow and Bromsberrow! :)
Solitary Rambler we should try making a living from unifying place names 😂😂😂😂
