Brenda was 16 when she recorded this, and only 14 when she cut Rocking around the Christmas Tree. "She is a member of the Rock and Roll, Country Music and Rockabilly Halls of Fame. She is also a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Lee is the only woman to be inducted into both the Rock and Roll and Country Music Halls of Fame."

One thing people are not remembering is that she is still performing today.

Her nickname was "Little Miss Dynamite" when she started out. As mentioned in comments, she was very young when she had her first hit song. It always amazed me that such a tiny girl had such a pretty and powerful voice. This was when rock was young (and so was I.) We had great music in the 50's.

"I'm Sorry" is a 1960 hit song by 15-year-old American singer Brenda Lee. It peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in July 1960. AllMusic guide wrote that it is the pop star's "definitive song", and one of the "finest teen pop songs of its era".

I was about 13 and my friend's father was taking us to their beach house at the New Jersey shore when I first heard this and the radio announcer saying a 15 year old had recorded it. That was the first time I heard it. That was in the summer of 61. If it was the year before, then I was 12.

honestly, I have such a fondness for this guy... one of the best "reactors" out there... he reacts WHILE listening to the song, which is the way to go... these folks that have to stop 10-15 times totally throw me off course. here we have just a big ol' bear listening to Brenda Lee... enjoy his vids immensely.

I was ten years old when this song came out. Really sets off the nostalgia neurons and allows me to stand again in iconic moments. Brenda is one of those I would love to converse with. Those voice “hiccups” were a trademark that she features in Jambalaya when she was even younger. You can hear Buddy Holly in there. I’d love to hear how she came up with that. Wonderful woman! Check out some interviews and bios - an authentic, unpretentious, immensely talented, really good person.

" I wonder if she did any more " LOL she was a early rock and roll superstar then for the next 50 years or so a Country music star. In fact an American music icon. Started at age 14.

One of my favorite songs by Brenda Lee is "Jambalaya". There's a UA-cam video of her performing this at the age of 8 (Avery Winter, 2010?, if this helps).

Great reaction Lyle! Her voice is amazing for such a young girl. She reminds me a lot of Patsy Cline who had that country/yodel tone in her voice also. I have a request I would ask you to consider. It's for Eva Cassidy. Are you familiar with her? Eva Marie Cassidy (February 2, 1963 - November 2, 1996) was an American singer and guitarist known for her interpretations of jazz, folk, and blues music, blessed with a powerful, emotive soprano voice. Sadly, she didn't gain her current level of international fame until after she died from cancer at the age of 33. Her arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is how everyone sings it now. This song is from a live performance at a blues nightclub where they were recording an ua-cam.com/video/2rd8VktT8xY/v-deo.html

Brenda Lee is fantastic & I'm glad to see you mention Eva Cassidy, she was exceptionally talented. In my opinion "Fields Of Gold" no longer belongs to Sting, Eva's version is the best.
