I'd seen another video about using Easy-Off Fume Free oven cleaner to clean my shower floor. I tried it earlier today. Amazing! My suggestion is to leave it on much longer than just 20 minutes. I left it on for more than three hours and it took almost no elbow grease to get rid of all the years of buildup. I have a textured fiberglass floor in my stall shower and I'd used Comet and even FSR (Fiberglass Stain Remover) but it kept getting darker over the years. After using the Easy-Off this afternoon - the floor is literally sparkling white again just like when I moved in. I've seen other remarks saying you can safely leave it on overnight which I guess would make the job even easier. But, it couldn't get my floor any whiter than it is today. Good luck everyone!

Great video for cleaning these awful showers! The easy off/magic eraser did a decent job because our shower was so so bad. It's a 70s rental house. But then the drill with a scrub pad on it was like magic. That shower is spotless! I wonder if easy off and then the drill would be the killer combo. By the time my husband used the drill, the shower was mostly clean so we didn't use any cleaner other than what was already on the scrub pad attached to the drill.
Anyway, thanks for these suggestions. The shower from hell is clean!
If you spray the shower with the no fumes oven cleaned and let it sit for about 8 hours, it will easily come clean with running water and a very light scrub.
Wow, I have been trying for YEARS to get that dirt off the floor. I was only using shower cleaner and magic eraser and there were only slight improvements. Can not wait to tackle this today!!! Don’t let the chemical
police make judgements. Sometimes you have to use the harsh stuff. I usually use vinegar and dish soap to clean my bathrooms.
It worked pretty incredibly. Like you, we tried everything under the sun. I did it twice and it got a majority, but I think I will do it again to try to get the rest. Thank you for sharing because we are putting our house on the market and I was at a loss! Kuddos girlfriend!

I did this and it works! Been trying to clean the dirty look off the bottom of my tub which has a nonslip surface and this worked! My tub looks like brand new. My tub is a porcelain on metal tub. I made sure not to get the cleaner on any metal parts.
Girl THANKS! I just bought a new home and I swear the home owners never cleaned. I assumed they would have cleaned the house as they moved all of their stuff out but I have a mess to clean up and I have been having a chemical war on my dang shower! I am going to try this!

You don’t need the magic eraser. It works just by spraying the Easy Off VERY liberally and sitting an hour or more then light scrubbing with a scratch free scrubber. The magic eraser will put tons of micro scratches on your tub or shower floor. Causing it to collect more gunk than before and make you have to clean more often.
Magic erasers are the best! I like this kind of home tip video :)

Thanks for posting this! I’ve used that stuff on my stove and even though it says Fume Free, there’s something in it that makes me a little nauseous but I’m willing to try with an open window and mask! As long as it works! Thanks for the video!

I'm a real estate broker. After trying everything and it came down to oven cleaner or ripping out the tubs the oven cleaner did it. Yes its probably not great but to get a few more years out of a shower ok. Open the Windows turn on the fan wear a mask and yes!

I've tried vinegar & dawn before & it did not work for me.
I work for a housing Authority. We usually don't use oven cleaner, unless it's something like this. I only recommend only using this if it's really really bad due to the harshness of the chemicals. Works for counters too.
Hey Ashley, I was getting ready to sand and recondition my shower pan because I was sick and tired of seeing the ugly stains. After watching your video, I thought I would give it a try. I was very skeptical but gave it a try anyways. Ashley I am very impressed how well this worked. I had to spray and scrub twice. I used a brush that attached to my drill which worked ever better than Mr. Clean. Thank you for the video. The shower pan has not looked this good in a very long time and all the stains are gone!!!!
Tried this tip Shower pan was disgustingly dirty. It worked perfectly. I still look at the pan when I shower in amazement. I let the spray sit for at least an hour. I used a brush and went in circular motions. Came off with ease.

I did my tub last night with the dollar tree brand oven cleaner and dollar tree brand eraser,and it looks fantastic. Wish I could post pics.

What do you recommend cleaning pebble floor in the shower?
I cannot tell you how grateful I am! My boyfriend’s shower was gross and we tried scrubbing bubbles, 409, bleach, and mold/mildew cleaner. Nothing helped. We sprayed oven off, let it sit for 30 minutes, and it came RIGHT OFF! No scrubbing or anything! Just using the magic eraser. I’m in awe. I thought it would help but had no idea it would make the shower sparkly clean and perfect!

Harsh chemicals or not- it worked. And that's what we all want.... people wouldn't really be watching in the first place unless they're looking themselves for a way to get their shower clean! Or they're a loyal fan/subscriber. But if they are here to see how to get theirs clean then that means they've likely also already tried everything. Anyway, again, if it works, it works. And that's what we want. I'm sure that the harsh chemical usage one time like this is better for the shower and us than having the dirt, grime, whatever it is, stuck to the bottom forever!
Vinegar doesn't clean everything like people seem to think!
Thanks for the positive love! I probably should have taken better safety precautions. OOPSIE! Wear a mask people! Atleast I had gloves. This saved us from having to refinish our shower or replace the fiberglass pan. It's in perfect working order still.
@@MZSOLD You did good.😊 I tried everything, too. That is the only thing that worked. Now that it's finally clean, I only had to do that once. Now when it gets grimy, I spray a can of Kaboom, let it sit for a while,, and scrub with a brush. Back to sparkly again.

Did you use a whole can of the easy off? Is there a smell with that stuff? I have this issue too with my
Shower pan but I use a cleaner from Shaklee called Scour Off paste.
MyRealtorKerri yes! You should definitely wear a mask a lot of chemical fumes in a small space. I didn’t have to use a whole can but most of it. I had to spray sit scrub and repeat
Can I use it on a fiberglass tub and then a steam cleaner?

What?! Easy Off? I never would have thought of that. My house is only a year old and the bottom gets dirty and it grosses me out! Nothing has worked well.

Why not she said the the spot was body oils, what does oven cleaner clean....body oil from animals, same type of oils....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the blue can of oven cleaner means, I think, that it is the "fume free" version of Easy Off, that is, the version that does not contain sodium hydroxide aka lye.
Baking Soda, and white vinegar works well… spray on vinegar first, then cover the whole floor and let sit for 10-15 minutes, spray with vinegar again, then start scrubbing, add more of the soda or vinegar on tough spots and keep scrubbing.
Spray it down the night before. Leave a window open. Let it sit overnight and scrub in the morning. The fumes will have dissipated by morning and the longer easy off sits the better it disintegrates the dirt. When I use it to clean my oven I let it sit overnight and the stuff just wipes off the next morning. I've never tried it in a shower but plan on trying it tomorrow on a tub a renter totally trashed. I hope it works!

I can’t breathe when I use Easy Off, so this is a big no go, for me. Even, with a mask a can’t breathe.

Latanya Lee I tried it with an off brand family dollar one and it did not give me the same results :( it’s possible I didn’t let it sit long enough though
Use vinegar and dawn dish soap
Try laying down baking soda and then put paper towels down covering the shower base and pour white vinegar and leave it gorgeous an hour or over night and then take up, give a little scrub and rinse. Brand new floor tada!
Unfortunately I’ve tried this repeatedly in my shower with no luck. I’m glad it worked for you. :)
Have you tried mineral spirits to clean this? I’m not sure Easy Off is safe for plastics.

Greetings from Lynchburg, Virginia. I dyed my beard and showered. Now I have blue stains everywhere. I'm gonna try barkeepers friend. It worked on the sink. I know comet will make the floor brittle. I don't think barkeepers friend will attack it. Easy off may attack it. 🐀🐾
Coating the shower floor with cheap shampoo and letting it sit overnight works for us.

WD-40 works the best with a microfiber cloth. There are no dangerous fumes, and it wipes right off easily.
Used the non-scented Heavy duty Easy off & it worked amazingly and no heavy fumes.

Please wear PPE when handling chemicals like this. Even the fume free products, when confined to such a small space is dangerous. This does work but those chemicals are not designed for the bathroom as no actual cleaning or disinfecting as taken place. Try using a pumie flex pad along with Clorox toilet cleaner bleach gel. This product is designed for bathroom cleaning so it’s safer on your pipes. Let it sit for 1 hour and scrub with pumie and or a magic eraser to make this job easy and fast. Ensure good ventilation. Keep your pumie wet to avoid scratching. Rinse when done and dry the floor with a microfiber cloth. Using vinegar, baking soda and dawn dish detergent should be an even safer choice but I know this doesn’t always work so even if her tip is your last resort please follow with actually cleaning and disinfecting personal spaces like the shower or tub. Tip- the easy off works on tub stains too:)

Use the works 99% clean, no scrubbing, just pour let it stand about 30 mins. And rinse, save the scrubbing for some where else!

How do y'all wait to clean a black nasty shower?? Id feel dirty every time I got in , it takes one minute to clean while in shower, before you shower. Just have a scrubber ready and use shampoo, shampoo cuts grease and if you clean every 2 weeks will surely Not be black !! But....if you wait till black? Will Need good cleanser, comet, baking soda, oven clean, vinegar, etc.
The shower was like this when I moved in with my husband. To be honest I tried everything to scrub it off. I tried bleach, scrubbers, vinegar and dawn dish soap - you name it. I even took my power washer to it and could not remove it. This was the only thing that worked!

@@jackofferman3762 they've had masks for decades. I'm a retired CNC Machinist, I used to wear a mask quite a bit when I was machining strange material. Plus other people use the masks for dusty and dirty conditions.
