How To Clean Textured Fiberglass or Plastic Shower Floor - Baking Soda & White Vinegar
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In this video I will show you my natural, chemicals free way to clean your textured fiberglass or plastic shower floor and make it white and clean again using baking soda and white vinegar.
When it comes to plastic or fiberglass textured shower floors, they are the worst. They get very dirty very fast and the stains are hard to remove even when using chemical cleaners. And I wouldn't recommend any cleaners that contain bleach because bleach itself is toxic, but when mixed with possible mold on the bathroom floor, it becomes deadly.
Great buy on baking soda at Amazon: amzn.to/2l9j9y4
Great buy on white vinegar at Amazon: amzn.to/2mgqAZo
Here is a transcript of the shower floor cleaning process:
-First, rinse the shower floor with water
-Next, completely cover the shower floor with baking soda
-Then cover with old towels
-Pour boiling water over the towels and let sit until towels are 100% cooled down
-Use the towels to scrub the shower floor
*If you have a bumpy (textured) shower floor, you might need to use a brush to get rid of the dirt.
-Heat up 2 cups of white vinegar and 1 tbsp of Dawn in a spry bottle and spry the entire amount over the shower floor.
-Let soak for 30 minutes and then scrub the rest of the stains with a hard brush or a hard sponge.
-Rinse with clean water and you will have a clean white shower floor again. All done naturally and without using any toxic chemicals.
I hope you find this video on how to clean your textured fiberglass or plastic shower floor naturally helpful and if you have any questions, please post them in the comment section and I will answer them.

Hi guys, on my other cleaning videos, some of you ask where I get the big bags of baking soda and big bottles of white vinegar. Here are the Amazon links where I buy my cleaning products: Baking Soda: amzn.to/2tALCCB
White Vinegar: amzn.to/2tTYyq7 And! I just unclogged my bathroom sink without Drano, check it out: ua-cam.com/video/qxrgABXie5Q/v-deo.html
I buy at Sam's Club
Costco
That bag is only about $7 at Sam's Club. I was going to order from Amazon until I saw the price.
Baking soda has a more neutral pH of 8.Washing soda is more alkaline with a pH of 11. Arm & Hammer makes Super Washing Soda. It is usually found in the laundry detergent isle of the grocery store.
Thank you Wayne 😊
Our grungy shower floor was similar to the one shown in the video. We had tried scrubbing with various cleaners and had only limited success. After watching this video, we had been hopeful, but doubtful. We followed carefully the instructions in the video and the shower floor was completely restored to its original appearance. This was totally amazing!!! Thank you so much for posting this video.
That’s wonderful! I’m glad the video helped. Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment!
Did NOT work for me.
It is 2022. I came across this video from 2017. I have a rental property that I've owned for years. The textured fiberglass tub was stained with dark spots. I scrubbed it with ever chemical out there. And I used baking soda, vinegar, and dawn. But I tried this method with the boiling water etc. I did not use a "spray" bottle. I just mixed in a large glass measuring cup for the last step. And spread it all over the tub floor. I let that set overnight. Then scrubbed with a nylon brush like the video. THIS ACTUALLY WORKED!
I couldn't believe it ! My tub looks new!
My first thought was to put the dawn soap with the vinegar in a glass to heat in the microwave instead of the plastic bottle.
I was gonna cry if this didn’t work. I just moved into my new place and my fiberglass textured shower was a mess upon moving in. I tried my go to “Clorox cleanup” spray and I was hurt when it didn’t work on the bathroom but that’s alright it still works for the other areas of my home. This method/remedy really works!!! And whoever said they had to do the process twice, try adding an extra cup of vinegar and instead of 2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid, squeeze them puppies in there until you feel it’s enough lol. I normally scrub with my elbows in deep, but this method (if you follow it correctly) allows minimal scrubbing. I wish I had taken a picture of my shower before I started but forgot. When I tell you my shower was pearly white, that’s just what I mean. Thank you dearly for sharing this with us… happy camping over here and I didn’t have to shed tears ❤
Oh my! I’m so happy it worked for you! Next time I’ll follow your tips. Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment, I appreciate your support! And I’m so happy you didn’t have to cry 🥰
7/5/21 I tried this before resorting to oven cleaner as the bartender's friend and bleach did not remove dark black "footprints" on my fiberglass shower stall. This was an amazing result. After soaking the towels with boiling water I let them cool ten minutes then stepped on them and danced the "twist" on top of the black areas. I also poured boiling water on the towels again after spraying with the vinegar/Dawn mix. The results were amazing! I was ready to spend $500 to have epoxy poured on the tub and now it is clean for about $25 in natural products.
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m happy the video helped!
Hello!! Thank you Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!! I just had a shower exactly like the one you have here on this video with years of built up soap scum and I tried your method....sprinkled a generous amount of baking soda down and then boiled water and poured it all over the towels and allowed it to sit for 30 minutes. Scrubbed with the towels and then made a spray bottle of Dawn and vinegar and heated it up and sprayed the remaining residue and used a stuff brush to scrub the rest of it off!! My shower looks like new!!! Just amazing!!!! I can't than you enough!!! I am selling my house and want it to look pristine!!! A million thank you's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so wonderful Ira! I’m so happy the video helped. And thank you for taking the time to come back and comment!
Wow! Thank you so much! I have been trying for over 15 years to get the stains off of our textured bathtub floor and I did have to do the treatment twice and use A LOT of "elbow grease", but it worked! I left the towel soaking for over an hour the second time for better results, and I put the vinegar and dish soap in a glass measure cup and microwaved instead of the spray bottle and poured it slowly over the floor and it worked great! Thanks again, I've LITERALLY tried everything and nothing has ever worked!
Hello Scott! I’m so happy this helped you! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment! I really appreciate it!
So it worked ?
Please share ur experience, how did you do it? I tried baking soda, soap, vinegar, did not work
I was looking up ways to replace my shower floor when I stumbled upon your video and this literally turned my shower floor back to brand new. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this!
Thank you Rebecca! I am so happy my video helped! And thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment! I really appreciate it! Best, Sasha
Holy cow!! I have a textured fiberglass shower floor. I have been in my home for 14 years and not ONE time have I been able to get it white again! I have used comet, bars maid, every kind of "powerful" cleaner there is! I even used oven cleaner one time at the risk of ruining the texture of the floor. Nothing worked! Today I UA-cam "how to clean textured fiberglass shower floor" your video came up! I followed the steps exactly ( even though I was very hesitant to put my plastic bottle in the microwave) my shower floor is beautiful!! I had to use a little "elbow grease" but that is to be expected with any serious filth in the house. Thank you thank you so much for sharing your video!!
Thank you so much for your comment Lorette! I appreciate it so much - viewers like you keep me motivated to keep putting the hours into filming and editing! You put a huge smile on my face! I'm glad my video helped! Have a great week! Best, Sasha
Wow! I echo everyone else's comments. This technique really works. We had no luck with regular cleaners and thought a new shower was our only option. Followed these directions this morning and our 27 year-old shower floor now looks brand new!
That so wonderful to hear! I’m so happy it helped. Thank you for taking the time to come back and comment!
Thank you! This worked great on my shower floor. Instead of heating in spray bottle, I heated mixture in glass measuring cup and then poured into bottle.
You are welcome! And this is a great idea - I will do that next time! Thank you for watching!!!
Janeen, you posted my thoughts!
Thank you for watching ladies and thank you for your input 😍
I did this too, Jeneen! My bottle wouldn't fit in the microwave.
clever
It works. Brought my tub back from the dead!!
For the 490 people (at the time of this post) who voted thumbs down, I’m not sure why. This is legit!
Thank you so much! Your support is greatly appreciated!
My shower floor is not that bad and none of this s*** has ever worked
Worked like a charm. My floor looks like brand new. I have spent money on so many cleaners never would have thought store brand baking powder for under a dollar would make such a difference.
I am so happy the video helped! Thank you so much for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!
Holy Cow!!! We've been living with a stained tub for 3 years. No matter how much we bleached and scrubbed, we couldn't get it to look clean. We used the tips in this video and it looks like a BRAND NEW TUB!! Thank you SO MUCH for posting!!
:) I am so happy my video helped you! And thank you so much for coming back to comment! I really appreciate it! Best, Sasha
This works so well! We have a textured floor in our single bathroom that three people share. Tried this out today, it took three boxes of baking soda because I haven't cleaned the floor thoroughly in two years 😂 it's basically spotless now.
That’s fantastic! Thank you for your support!
How is your floor in tie shower keeping up after cleaning it so well?
They sell giant bags if baking soda at Costco and Sam's Club for really cheap.
I’m absolutely amazed at the results of this method. We moved into an old condo and the floor in the walk-in shower was so bad (mold spores -like tiny mushrooms were actually growing in it) and mildew and soap scum completely covered the floor and corners. I wanted to tear it all out and totally rebuild the shower. Would have spent over 10 grand on it, but I was told not to and to find a way to clean it. I tried many over the counter chemical cleaners and nothing worked. This method killed everything and brought the shower back to just like new condition. The tiles are totally white. I am totally blown away. Had no idea this would work so well. Thank you. You saved us a ton of money.
Your method worked well, shower floor was about the condition of yours and we tried many cleaners. The thing that made it a little easier is on the last step with the vinegar/soap solution, I scrubbed using a pad and brush set I have that fits a drill. Made it a lot easier than by hand. Thanks.
Hi! I since bought one of those brushes as well - what a difference! Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment!!!
Was in my house 5.5 years before I find this, last owner worked on the railroad and the dirt was ground on the shower floor. This method worked so well !! Thank you
Hello Bill! Glad to hear it worked. Thank you so much for watching!
I've tried everything on my textured tub/shower floor. Nothing would clean the dirt out of the crevices. Your method worked! I had to do the second step twice, but it's all clean now. Thanks for sharing your tip!
And thank you for your comment!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to come back and comment! Best, Sasha
I was skeptical about trying this method. I had tried bleach, scouring powder, even an sos pad. The grime would not budge. I thought, if bleach would not rid the grime, nothing would. Boy, was I amazed! I called my husband to come look at the results. So glad I found this. Thank you!
Lisa Carter Hello Lisa! I am so happy to hear it worked for you! Your comment put a huge smile on my face 😁 Recently, another subscriber told me that she tried bleach and the floor turned yellow... Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment! I appreciate it! Best, Sasha
bleach is bad for your lungs!!!! don't breathe it in!!!!
I agree... and I heard that when in contact with any mold - becomes way worst...
@@AnOldSchoolHome Also, bleach is slippery, which you don't want in a bathtub or shower. I'm going to do this tomorrow.
Nita Neall I hope it works for you! And I don’t really like bleach either... smells pretty bad 😊
I just did this on my textured shower floor, it wasn’t that dirty, so I just shook some baking soda around in the floor of the shower. Mixed vinegar and dish soap in a bowl, microwaved it and then just dipped my scrub brush in that. All the stains and discoloration came off so easily, I literally look me 5-8 minutes to do the whole shower. Very little scrubbing needed, I’ll never go back to cleaning any other way. Bonus, no harsh chemicals♥️🎉
I am so happy it helped you! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment, I appreciate your support! 😍
This did work, but it took some persistence. My shower is 27 years old and the stains were darker, deeper, and much more stubborn. I combined these techniques with some I found from a few similar videos. Heating a cup of vinegar in the microwave and adding a generous portion of blue Dawn detergent (poured over the baking soda) worked best for me. I used a stiff brush after waiting 30 minutes. I also used one of those yellow/green sponges and stood on it while twisting to work on the really deep spots. I used 2 bottles of vinegar and 3 boxes of baking soda from the Dollar Tree. Four attempts and less than $10 later my shower pan was white again. Thanks so much for this post!
You are so very welcome and thank you for your support! I’m about to try this method on a 30 year old tub over the weekend. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Dear God..... life is too short
Ignore the negative naysayers. This method works!!! I just watched the video, tried it, and my 4 yr old stained sower floor is clean as new. Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much Wendy! I really appreciate your comment 😍 I’m glad it worked 😍
Thank-you so much!
I moved into my house 18 years ago and I had tried countless ways to clean a grungy plastic shower stall with textured floor pan. I was on the verge of having it replaced- but looked online to see if there might be another cleaning method to try, one last time. I found your video and *IT WORKED!!* I am so grateful! With the worst part of that little bathroom now gleaming, I renewed the shower door, fixed/painted some trim and put in a water saving toilet. So literally, a bathroom remodel for not much more than the cost of 8# of baking soda and a gallon of white vinegar! And some elbow work. ( The toilet qualified for a $100 rebate from WaterSense).
I couldn’t be happier. Thank-you!
I use fragrance-free comet and peroxide and white vinegar as a follow-up. Green scrubbing pad. If its bad I use an orbital buffer. Saves my arms letting the buffer do all of the hard work. Every time I move out of a rental the landlords are blown away by how clean the tub or shower is.
LOL, you are like me - whenever I move out, the place is cleaner than before I moved in :)))
@@AnOldSchoolHome I even clean them before moving in :-)
lavapix 😂 me too
Double the deposit returned to you!
Lol! Some dreams just don’t come true :))
I was cautiously optimistic when I tried this, and I'm absolutely blown away at how well this worked. I wish could attach a picture to show you all. My shower looks brand new. Thank you so much!
You are so very welcome and thank you for taking the time to come back and comment 😊
Yea, I just cleaned my shower using this method and it worked so great!! My shower looks better than new and for the most part it was done using natural ingredients(Dan excluded from that)!!! LOL
Pls explain what is the purpose of baking soda? Cant u just go straight to second step? By mixing vinegar and dishwash soap?
It worked! Thank you for sharing your tips. My fiberglass shower pan is as white as the day we moved into our house.
That’s awesome! I’m glad it helped and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
This definitely worked! I didn’t have any old towels so I carefully poured the hot water inside and started scrubbing with a sponge. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome and thank you for watching!
My wife bows to you. I had even tried acetone (unsuccessfully). This works unbelievably well.
This is so wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to come back and comment, I really appreciate it!
finally! a baking soda+vinegar solution that doesn't involve combining the two! thanks!
I had the same problem. I tried this method twice, it didn't work for me. I ended up using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and some scrubbing while cursing about the previous owner.
E. House 😂 I had to try the Mr. Clean sponge. I have a bunch of them that I use for scuf (spelling 😂) marks on the baseboards. Thank you for the tip - I’ll try it.
Vinegar and Dawn are pretty cheap. I just plug the drain and fill the bottom with hot vinegar and Dawn. I wonder what your stain was from?
I'm not surprised
I swear by the Mr Clean sponges. They do work like magic for tough projects.
Love this comment. I'm currently in the same position. Wish I can throw the whole tub away and get a new one but unfortunately I'm poor lol
Like others, I've tried for years with every product sold. While this kept the basin mostly clean, there was a "water" stain that had proven resistant to every cleaning attempt. Step 2, white vinegar + dishwash soap, along with considerable elbow grease with a stiff brush scrubber, finally did the trick. Thank you so much!
You are so very welcome and thank you for your support!
This is incredible! I tried it and my "clean" shower stall went from looking dull with dark spots, to sparkling clean and completely white! It's NEVER looked as clean as it does now. The clincher was doing the second step with the vinegar and Dawn that really removed any remaining residue from the first step. Highly recommend this method!
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m so happy the video helped! I really appreciate your support!
I followed instructions and then used some all purpose drill brush attachments. It took about 30 min of pushing down on the drill and moving slowly going back and forth (in small vertical and horizontal directions) with the brush attachment on my drill and all of the grime was taken off. This was seven years in the making! We used a lot of different chemicals, but following the instructions on this video and using nylon drill brush attachments worked. Thank you for posting this and sharing your knowledge!
You are very welcome and thank you for your support!
I’ve got a brute force method that even removed some calcium deposits. I had tried scrubbing with Comet, bleach, vinegar and the deep dirt wouldn’t budge. Then I ran my pressure washer wand in through the bathroom window, turned on the ventilation fan, closed the door as much as possible and had at it. Two seconds later, a black sheet of water and grit and oil washed down the drain! It felt so good.
Would the power washer damage the floor?
No.
Mark Henri Thank you!
@@AnOldSchoolHome As long as it's a one-piece floor, you should be fine. However, if the pressure washer stream is allowed to hit any caulked joints, such as where the shower pan meets a wall, you will want to let it dry thoroughly and recaulk those joints ASAP before using the shower. Thus, pressure-washing on a regular basis can cause long-term damage, and leaking into spaces below.
Thank you so much for the tip, I appreciate it and will keep it in mind!
I can't thank you enough for this great video! My shower floor was pretty bad and I've tried just about every household cleaner I could think of. Your no harsh chemicals way is the best!
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m so happy it helped!
I followed your instructions and was VERY pleased with the results. I had used bleach and limeaway products, with very little improvement. This almost entirely removed the yellow discoloration. Thank you for the video!
:) I am so happy it helped! Thank you so much for posting a comment! I really appreciate it! Best, Sasha
This was seriously the BEST cleaning advice I have ever gotten. This worked so amazingly well, I can’t tell you how grateful I am.
You are so very welcome and thank you so much for your support!
This worked a treat on an old bathtub I thought was hopeless! Thanks for the tips.
zhebrica 😊 I’m glad to hear that 😊 Thank you for your comment! I appreciate!!!
I was skeptical about this method working when other so called "powerful cleaners" had failed to make a dent on some black stuff on my acrylic textured shower pan. But it worked! A little rub with a stiff brush and the shower floor lost all the grime. I couldn't believe my eyes. Thank you for sharing
Thank you 😊 I appreciate your comment 😊
This actually worked without too much effort. I only used my towels for the soak and used a non-scratch scrubber to remove the dirt. Also skipped the spray bottle and dipped the scrubber into the heated vinegar and Dawn solution for the final scrub. Tub looks new again!
That’s great! Thank you for watching!
Thank you! We used your method and it worked on a shower that's looked bad for over 30 years!
Thank you 😍 I’m so happy it helped! Thank you for watching 😍
This is AMAZING!! I have tried everything else to try to get my shower floor stains clean, and nothing else has worked, not even bleach. But THIS totally got the shower floor completely clean! Thank you so much for posting this! Awesome!
This is so wonderful! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment! I appreciate your support!
This worked in my shower. I inherited a Costco size bag of baking soda from my Mom. I’ve been looking for different baking soda uses. I know it’s good for cleaning. The hardest part of this process was waiting for the time to elapse so I could see the difference. Thank u for ur tip.
You are very welcome and thank you for your support!
We had the same situation. Moved into a home that had recently been cleaned and the shower pan still looked disgusting. Regular cleaning products did not do the trick. I followed this video to a T and our shower pan looked brand new afterwards. Thank you!
Wow! I wish I saw this years ago! This truly works. I did add a towel again after I sprayed the vinegar mixture and let it sit for at least an hour or so and scrubbed a few times in between and replaced the towel as I had some stubborn spots but it truly made my textured floor white again . Thank you so much for this!
This is so wonderful! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment!
Thanks so much for this! We have a fiberglass tub that had been professionally re-sprayed about 5 years ago, but I hadn't been able to get it really clean it about 3 years. This did the trick to about 98% improvement in one try! Amazing!
That’s wonderful! Thank you so much for watching!
This works. Watched it 4 years ago, successfully used the technique, and luckily re-found it to clean again. Thanks for the inexpensive, effective, no-nonsense approach. Much appreciated.
This worked amazingly! I used a scrub brush to clean instead of the towels after they cooled and the results were so impressive!
Hello! I am so happy the video helped you! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment!
I was looking for this specific video again! I used your method years ago, and it worked beyond wonders! It even got rid of two spots that were some kind of chemical (sealant?) that the builder's contractor dripped, but I was never able to clean up. THIS method, as a bonus, got those spots up too! So glad I found it and I am about to get going on another round of super clean, super environmentally friendly! thank you!
This is so wonderful! Thank you so much for your support!
I know this is an old video, but a huge thank you to you for posting,, I had a similar shower issue, and now its pretty much spotless, you're wonderful!!
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment! I'm glad my video helped you! Best, Sasha
OMG ! I too have been trying for several years to get the stains out of my shower. This worked perfectly! It loosened the set-in grime in the textured pattern on the floor. Thank you!!! Thank you!!!
You are so very welcome and thank you so much for watching!
Tried this today. Works amazingly good. Shower floor was dingy looking and now looks like new! Thank you for sharing an extremely helpful solution!
You are welcome! I’m glad it worked for you. Thank you for watching and thank you for taking the time to come back and comment!
I thought my shower pan was too dirty to save. Just doing this cleaning method once has made a huge difference. Thank you!!!
I tried this for cleaning my tub and it worked. Although I did have to let it sit much longer about 2 hours. And lots more scrubbing but it’s much cleaner now, than in a long time. I hope it stays like this for awhile.
Yes, the first time took a lot of scrubbing, but if you keep up, it won’t be as hard. Thank you for watching!
This worked perfectly! The shower floor looks brand new. I did have to apply the vinegar/dawn solution twice and used a scrub brush the first time and an electric toothbrush the second time, but it all came clean with no harsh chemicals. Thanks!
Thank you for your support 😊
Lexi 93 may God bless you and soften your heart😳
@Lexi 93 I’m hardly ignorant. You have anger management issues and need help. Who randomly attacks someone for making a positive comment about a cleaning method? Get a life. So sad.
It’s best to just ignore those and move on 😍
What do you mean no harsh chemicals? Are you unaware of what Dawn Soap has in it??
WoW!!! You are a lifesaver 👍 I did not know what to do anymore with my bathroom me and my husband were ready to remodel the bathroom. But thanks to this video my bathroom looks brand new. Absolutely incredible that nasty black stuff completely came off. I thank you so much for making this video...☺
Cristina Bossio Thank you Cristina, I really appreciate your comment! I’m so happy my video helped! Thank you for taking the time to come back and comment!!! 😊
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing! I scrubbed the shower with Comet and there were still stains on the floor so it still looked dirty. The vinegar/Dawn worked like a charm with minimal scrubbing 😁
Thank you for coming back to foment, I appreciate it 😊
There are some really neat chemicals working here: baking soda paste (sodium bicarbonate) acts as an abrasive to sand away the grime, and rubbing it with the towel helps push it into the cracks. The vinegar (acetic acid) reacts with the remaining baking soda to make sodium acetate and CO2. The CO2 bubbles help push out the dirt even more.
Fun fact: Sodium acetate is where Salt & Vinegar potato chips get their flavor, and are used to make reusable heat packs!
I love your explanation ! I have read elsewhere to even add peroxide, what does that do? Is that a necessary step?
I am here to testify that it works.. I was qouting prices for a replacement just days ago. I've been in my home for 16 yrs and tried every product on the market. You know its clean but the average person would think you're nasty. Low and behold 3 hh products that I always have in the home did the trick. Saved myself thousands. It even cleaned my grout. Thank you. You are a life saver!!!!
Thank you so much! I’m glad the video helped and I appreciate your support very much so!!!
i seen that floor before and after and holy moly. great tips sasha!👍
Thank you! It did take a bit of scrubbing but it looks better now. Those plastic floors get nasty so fast tho.... I don't know who came up with the brilliant idea to put plastic in a bathroom... Probably the same person who decided that it is a great idea to put carpet in every terminal at Phoenix airport so you can inhale the dust off the shoes of the gazillion travelers passing trough :)) Thank you for watching :))
Our grungy shower floor, which looked way worse than the one in this video, was completely restored using this method. Thank you for sharing this!
I’m going to try it. Our acrylic shower is so gross I’ve been considering a Bath Fitter. Thanks!
You are very welcome and thank you for watching!
Thank you sooo much for this video. My shower has been dirty and I was not sure how to get it clean coz regular cleaning was not working. I followed your instructions and my shower is clean again!!!! No toxic chemicals!
This is so wonderful! I’m glad the video helped and I appreciate you taking the time to come back and comment!!!
I am so glad I found this video! This has been such a life saver. I've used every product imaginable to try and get my shower clean. Nothing worked until now. Cheap solution and wonderful.
Hi, I am so happy it worked for you! Thank you so much for watching and thank you for stopping by to comment! I appreciate it! Have a great weekend! Best, Sasha
After hiring a cleaner who couldn’t get it clean, I tried this and it is PERFECTLY white again! I’m so happy!!
This is so wonderful! I’m happy it worked for you and thank you for your support ❤️
i like being able to use what i have allready in the house....and i allways have baking soda and vinegar and dawn......thanks....a
Me too 😍 Old school cleaning is the best 😍
I had a dingy shower pan and previously tried clorox spray, clr, lime-away, and straight up bleach with no luck. I followed this tutorial exactly and I couldn't believe the results! All that time I wasted with chemicals several times a year and the actual solution was in stuff I already had around the house. I thought I was going to have to replace the shower stall. Thank you so much for posting this!!!!!
This is the cleanest my tub has been since I moved in. I've tried numerous cleaners, to no avail. I was delighted with the results - what a miracle! Thank you for sharing!
You are welcome! And thank you so much for your comment; I really appreciate it 😊
What worked for me was the baking soda, towels, and boiling water. Let it cool then scrubbed a lot and it’s PERFECT! Thank you!
You are welcome and thank you for watching!
Thankyou for these instructions. This is the only thing that cleaned my textured shower floor. I followed your directions and it worked! I was proud of myself.🙂
I’m so happy the video helped! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment! I really appreciate it!!!
I’ve used this method successfully twice, after giving up on the Mr Clean sponges. I’ve also recommended it to others.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support!
I just put Dawn all of the shower floor and let it sit for several hours and then used a scrub brush and scrubbed the shower and it came out sparkling white. I didn't have to use baking soda and hot water. The Dawn did it all.
Hi Rebecca! I did try that, but the family who was renting the house did a number on that floor, so I had to get creative :) Now I maintain it every week or so and I don't have to go all crazy with the cleaning :) Thank you for your comment! Best, Sasha
My shower floor is 13 years old and it took me a long time to discover Dawn. All those years I have been breaking my back trying to clean the floor. Thank you.
:) Whatever is in Dawn, it does the trick :) Have a great Sunday!
My first try didn’t work well but after a second time it worked like a charm. Thank you so much for posting this! Now I am telling everyone.
Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment! I appreciate your support!
Holy SH%T! this actually worked!!! It was a giant pain in the ass to do all these steps, but, if you do, it works!!! Dayummm!! Thank you so much for posting this! I was tired of looking at my clean, stained floor!! 😊😊😊
Thank you Jessica! I’m glad it helped and I appreciate your comment 😁😍👍🏼
Simple - Inexpensive - Effective! Thanks … a 25 year old fiberglass shower floor and now it’s ‘almost’ as good as new.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching and I’m glad it worked for you!
Thank you nice lady for the great tip. I’m going to try this. I’m glad to see someone, besides me, whose microwave and stove clock don’t keep the same time.
LOL! I try to adjust them all the time and the oven always falls behind :) You are welcome! and thank you for watching! Have a great weekend! Best, Sasha
I used your method on elderly moms tub with bad arm, so easy she was so pleased with result, I used other methods and got tub almost like new, but yours by far easiest
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching!
Great video! Thanks Sasha. We moved into a property that has a textured shower floor. It was clean when we moved in but it seemed that no matter what, we couldn't keep it as clean as when we moved in. This does the trick.
John T Hi John, I am so glad my video helped! I did try many products from the store, including industrial degreaser 😂. Thank you for taking the time to comment! Have a wonderful weekend John! Best, Sasha
My shower flower was so dirty after plumbers came in to t fix drain. Tried bleach which did not work then found this video! Amazing how clean the shower is now! Thanks for posting.
That’s so wonderful! I’m glad it helped and thank you for your comment!
Worked perfect for us on stains that we thought would never come out. Vinegar smell was gone within a couple hours.. Thank you!
markmatteo I’m so glad to hear that! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment Mark! I appreciate it!!! 😍 Best, Sasha
I didn't think it was going to work because after the first step it still looked pretty bad, but after I let the vinegar/soap solution sit for 1/2 hour the rest came out with a little elbow grease. My wife is amazed. she had no faith it would work! Thanks for the video. now to try to get the walls clean....
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad it worked for you guys!!!
This was amazing it really really works!!! We have a plastic textured shower floor and it was really starting to bother me and I had tried everything!!! This made it sparkling again! Highly recommend!! Thank you so so much!
And thank you so much for your comment! I appreciate it and I’m glad it helped!!!
I know this is from a few years ago but I had to come on here and thank you for this video. This is amazing. It worked for me on a 7 year old fiberglass textured bathtub with a ton of gross hard water, mildew, & who knows what else stains that were built up. I tried magic erasers and bleach (which makes it worse btw). I had to do this method twice and I used a stainless steel scrubber but with a lot of scrubbing it came out and looks brand new! This takes a lot of elbow grease and effort but it's worth it. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you took the time to come back and comment! I appreciate your support!!! I since bought one of those brush sets that you can attach to a power drill and it is so much easier and faster. Thank you again!
Okay, so i got the towel part done. And already see progress yay
Great Elizabeth! Thank you so much for letting me know, I appreciate it! I hope it works well for your bathroom floors :)
Cleaned most of the stains very well. I left the baking soda and hot water on the towels for over an hour and this worked very well. Thanks for posting!
This is wonderful! I’m glad the video helped and thank you for watching!
Thanks for the instruction! I always use some combination of baking soda, white vinegar, and one or the other of a couple of kinds of natural orange based cleaner to clean almost everything. It works so much better than any commercially concocted cleaners. Oh--also, sometimes a bit of tea tree or eucalyptus oil, sometimes a bit of rubbing alcohol (for instance, in vinegar and water glass cleaner), and, rarely, some ammonia.
I like the tip of using the towels over soda, and then boiling water. I'll try it!
😍 Thank you for the essential oils tip 😍 I have all of the ones you mentioned. Also, the towels work for cleaning a glass stove top as well. Thank you for watching! I appreciate it! Best, Sasha
OMG. I just tried this and it worked! I'll never forget you lol. I just halfway put baking soda, barely wiped then did vinegar and waited 25 min. 80% of it came off with just that! I'm going to give it a full treatment tomorrow! OMG... I've tried everything!
This is so wonderful! Thank you for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your support!
I kept it simple.... I spread paper towels over the entire span of the shower then I soaked it with household bleach and let it sit ... make sure the bathroom is well-ventilated maybe you could open the bathroom window.. after 4-5 hoursI removed the paper towels and scrubbed the floor little bit and it was perfectly clean... Don't forget to wear rubber gloves!!j
Yes, this works. I just don’t like the smell of bleach and my shower is not well ventilated. Thank you for the tip!
I tried this, then I followed up with the method on the video, it worked!! thank you both! the bleach alone I don't think would have been sufficient. But I do think it helped!
That’s wonderful! I’m glad those helped!
This actually works
1st i tried SOS pad
2nd pumice
3rd the directions from this video my shower floor is now clean
Thank You
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment! I’m glad it helped 😊
YEP, Just follow the directions and IT does work perfectly. I did use Dr.Bronners instead of dish soap !!
Mark Caban I’m glad it worked for you Mark! Thank you for watching and commenting 😊
My shower floors in two bathroom had black and brown mildew stains. I used this method and it worked great.
That’s fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to come back and comment, I appreciate your support!
Thank you. just bought a new house. your tips are saving me many dollars.
Scarlett Ivy :) I'm glad I could help. BTW, when we moved to our house , it was pretty bad. I used baking soda and vinegar for almost everything but the tale floor which was kind of greasy, the only think that worked was industrial degreaser from Home Depot. Thank you for watching and congratulations on your new home!
Did this once, was sad it didn’t work. Did it twice and it worked like a CHARM! All without contaminating the watershed. Subscribing!
Thank you so much for your support 😍
This is AWESOME!! We bought our house a little while ago and thought we'd have to replace the shower. The stains were terrible. This worked exactly like the video. It cleaned it right up. There are a couple of small areas with some stubborn stains but I'm going to hit them again and use the vinegar soap combo after that. We don't have a microwave. Could I heat the vinegar mixture up in a double boiler?
Yes, you can do that. I’m glad this helped and thank you for watching!
I tried this today and I don’t recognize my shower! Thank you so much for this video, can’t wait to take a bath in there finally!
This is so wonderful! Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and comment!
Thank you this has been amazing in keeling our fiberglass shower floors clean
Thank you 😊
Great idea, thank you. I just moved into a new place and the shower floor was gleaming, but I could tell I was losing the battle of keeping it that way. So mine was not nearly as bad as your “before” photo. So I was able to use a shortcut - just sprinkle the baking soda all over, pour vinegar into the sponge and clean. The shower and tile are gleaming again. So much better than what I was trying - Awesome Daily Shower Cleaner - Noxious chemicals and it did NOTHING. Baking soda and vinegar- so much easier on the lungs and so much more effective!
I’m so happy the video helped! Thank you for taking the time to comment, I appreciate your support!
Thank you so much for such a GREAT TIP...
I love the results... You are a God-Send!!
I am having to clean out a 34 year old (nasty) shower
of a RV... UGH!!!
I will try this.. Thank you for sharing this video..
(Please note: The background music was a little
too loud, making it hard to hear you sometimes...)
Thank you so much for your comment Judi 😊 I hope you were able to clean the floor! I’m sorry about the music 🤭
