Kris....that's a whip ol' man! Us old guys just do whips...bad backs don't let us scrub anymore. Matthes is going to have a field day with this video, he'll probably create an entire podcast about it!! LOL You killed it at the Vet World...I don't care what anybody says!!
I love Keefer, such a HUGE fan of his! Thanks to everyone involved in these videos, they're great. I want to point out how smart it was of Keefer to say it took him a few years to get it right. Kids (I'm guilty of it too) just want to learn how to whip immediately so they can take a pic for the 'gram. Whipping can be so dangerous, I like the fact that he added that comment, it immediately gives you a sense of "ok, this is for real, its going to take some time, lets get it right". Thanks Keefer
I never had a riding lesson.. I didn't realize you can control the bike a lot by putting more weight on one foot peg as opposed to evenly on both .. You can steer a street bike quit a lot by putting more weight and pressure on the inside foot peg..
Me, a non dirt biker two and a half minutes in... still trying to figure out what scrubbing is. lol I legit thought this was about making and maintaining your own dirt jumps or something. Cool video though.
@@Cooperturlan lol okay I gotcha. I was confused ashell. Just learning the sport and the lingo. I was told a guy by the name of Bubba created it. Not sure if he was Xgames or moto. But I'll keep doing my research tonight.
@@_Bryant.R if I were kidding I would of never asked the question my guy. I thought it was called Bubba Scrub. So when I see a video that just states "Scrub". It sparked my curiosity, that's all.

This dude gets his bike so freakin close to the earth. Like a game of limbo lol. Sheesh man, I tip my hat off to that guy and any of you guys that ride dirt bikes at a very high level. So much skill.
Keefer, you still aren't scrubbing. You want your weight lower, so you have to either lean the bike before you get up near the of of the jump face, and/or you have to hang off the side to lower your CG, as you lean over, prior to the top of the jump.
James Stewart was the one who invented it or at least the first one to do it in a race. I think some of the Metal Mulisha guys like Brian Deegan claimed they were doing it(scrubs & whips)in the 90s.
I think that 1970 and 1980's jumps and the way the bikes were back in the day weren't optimal for being able to scrub and whip. Yeah riders were doing whips in late 80's and 90's at the finish line but couldn't do it regularly.
In OP's defense I have yet to see a video from anybody that has effectively "shown" me how to do it so well that I could just go do it. I dont think it can be explained with words; you just gotta do it and feel it.
Tyler Svensson you can see it on the Dedham channel Ricky still goes to Glen Helen quite often. And James Stewart has not rode since he has retired, you can go to the deegans UA-cam channel or and interview with James he said he hasn’t rode much at all since his retirement a few years ago.

Great video and explanation kriss thanks, not the greatest scrubbing or whipping but for sure the best who can explain it
Shut up
Great video guys 🤘
3:51, 'Tank Slapper' is something else, it's
related to the 'death-wobble', a high speed
harmonic/vibration coupling issue.
Would please explain at which moment do you start turning the front wheel? Right After it leaves the ground or before?
I love those Leatt 5.5 boots, so comfortable and the inner grip is insane.
Nice vid, thanks . the first time I ever did a real scrub off a 55 foot double, I cased it from being too low. lets be careful out there
Thanks for sharing how to scrub
Thanks Keefy
Thanks great advice
Great video thanks! What gear on a 250 4 stroke (without going crazy on diff bikes and upgrades) would you expect to be in on that jump used to demo?
Been riding since I was 15... 32 now and I still can’t whip or scrub... I just ride for fun cause I suckkkkkk
A C same I suck but I’m improving 🤷🏻
The Keef!

danteelite the point of a scrub is to stay low so u can either stay lower and land faster and u can hit jumps faster and still not miss the landing
3:56 stiffen it up
I’m king of the butt whips 😂
😂😂😂
So what's the difference between a scrub and a Bubba Scrub.?

When I raced Motocross in the late 1970's I don't think this concept was invented yet..

So what about James Stuart and Rickey there still in the games and they don’t get to tide a lot
