To viewers from across the world: Not all Filipinos are comfortable with eating monkeys, bats, and insects. In fact, I'd say that 99% of Filipinos don't eat those. However, I do respect my fellow Filipinos in the provinces who eat those as part of their culture and tradition. There is great diversity in cultures across the Philippines' 7,641 islands.
Do you really need to explain it like that though? lol I don't need people to tell me that not all Americans only eat Cereals for breakfast and Burgers for dinner.

I've watched almost all of your videos, and I'm going to say this is one of my favorite so far. Your documentation of "Pagpag and Monok" should be the staple of mainstream media. Focusing on the inside and out of the problem and showing the people fighting behind these struggles to live should be the mission and end goal of a documentarist. Sonny being very informative, and gives a context of “at your own risk”. Although I started a bit late following the channel, especially during the pandemic, his documentaries are very eye-opening, expansive and entertaining.
In the beginning, I thought Sonny's YT Channel name was pretty bold and a bit corny.
*BUT over time he's in fact truly lived up to the "Best Ever Food Review Show" claim.*
*Informational, full of culinary adventure, mind-boggling (stomach churning?) extreme exotic food trials around the world --- AND --- quite entertainingly full of humor (he's the only one that does that, and genuinely). KUDOS!*
This show is truly remarkable. I admire how it focuses on people appreciating food for what it is, rather than just its origins.

I know this is a long shot, but my boyfriend and I will be visiting his family in the Phillipines for a month in June!! We LOVE your videos and are long time watchers. We see you’re in the Phillipines and wanted to reach out to see if you needed a local guide of any sort to try some foods. Anyone from our family would be honored to show you around to some restaurants or even welcome you into our home to eat some home cooked food with us while we are there. We will be in Bacolod City specifically! This island is known to be the, “city of smiles” & also known for their chicken inasal!! 🤗 regardless if this message gets to you or not, safe travels!!
That's a lovely gesture and I hope you have a beautiful trip with your boyfriend and all the family 😊 Just to give an insight behind the scenes on a "traditional" web series show - the footage for an episode is often shot on scene weeks (or more likely months) prior and goes through a lot of post-processing and approval etc before being uploaded. Not to say that's how BEFRS puts out episodes, just that from experience, he's very likely somewhere else. Just wanted to offer that in case you don't hear back, as closure of sorts. Please have a bowl of chicken inasal for me, I'm jealous of all the delicious foods you'll be enjoying!

I can't think of anyone else that has labeled themselves as the best and actually lived up to it. This show is the best show on youtube hands down. Better than anything I can find on TV or any paid service. I used to live my dreams of food tourism through this show, but now I'm living abroad, and I've been to a few places you've been and tried things I watch you try on this show. I'd like to think that you inspired me a bit to leave my comfort zone and be more spontaneous in life. I've left my country, I'm now married, and have been to more countries and tried more foods than I thought I ever would in my entire life.

Bats, and monitor lizards, I used to go with fellows who hunt them at forests and streams, as a kid.. that was fun, so it just reflects how rich the tropical islands were with meat sources. Nothing to be frowned upon, but fun
It really breaks my heart seeing them smiling and talking happily despite their situation. I love my fellow Filipino people and I really love my country for real. I'm from the Cordilleras and I learned about pagpag during my elementary days. I thought that this practice was banned or stopped years ago. It was shocking for me to see your video documenting this food. And as a Cordilleran we eat exotic foods but in our culture eating food from literal trash is a big no. However, this documentation is really important in spreading awareness regarding the current situation of Manila.
