    There's something so elegant about a DLG. The slim profile and slinkyness.... That's probably not even a real word.

    lovely flying, great cinematography and some nice editing with the music... noticed the transitions in sync. Lots of little details. Bravo.

    It’s always so windy here in Nova Scotia. Too windy for my usual thermal flying. Maybe I need to take the slope-pill and focus my energy that way.

    Have you ever had a bird attack your gliders? I had a Buzzad hawk attack one of my slopers once, My fault I flew too close to it, It gaind a little height and then it dove down and punched my glider on the wing route, I got the message and flew away from it. I could hear him calling and within a very short time there was another buzzad up there with him. There was no dammage to my glider.

    Dlg's are great on the slope! Even in windier conditions as well, up to a point of course. I see the lift was very light. :-O
    I fly my dlg's up to maybe 25 knots but with ballast and a more forward CG.
    Do you get any sun on the cliff side? That would create some interesting thermals in light conditions I'm sure! Cheers!

      @SlopeRCGliders  Рік тому

      The cliff is North facing so it doesn’t really get any sun.

    I'm sure it thermals just as well but no need for launching discus style on the slope it floats beautifully, nice flight! I've got my experimental wing/plank built but I'm concerned with weight, CG and being a full symmetrical wing. Lol! Not to mention it was re purposed from a 3D plane... I'm thinking it won't fly in light wind but might do well in mid to high wind conditions. If you were closer I'd send it to you just to see what you could do with it. I believe if it is able to fly it will be very aggressive. Would you like to see it? I can send a link to a shorts video of the initial mock up.

      I’d love to see it. I’m always interested in unusual designs. I got given an fully symmetrical 3D wing at a model swap meet. I turned it into a canard glider. It does need quite a strong wind to fly well. ua-cam.com/video/PNc58LsjlIw/v-deo.html

    Is that an Ahi at 0:28? The fin and rudder don't look right though. Have you tried one yet John?

    • @SlopeRCGliders
      @SlopeRCGliders  Рік тому +2

      It’s an Aroso. It does look like an Ahi but it’s made from depron sheet. There wasn’t really enough wind this day but I have flown it since. I’ll upload some video soon…

    Very good flying as always. Sorry John but not really interested in carbon fiber gliders. Not very realistic. “Model” means a smaller version of an existing creation. You are one of the best slope flyers I’ve ever seen. So smooth with all your inputs. It’s just, I’d rather see actual models. Thanks for sharing and I hope I don’t get too many viewers upset with my comments. Just a personal opinion. Thanks again!!
