Everyone improved this week except Mac even the OL. We got YAC from the WRs, run blocking from the OL, better play calling from BOB, almost 5.0YPC for both RBs, scored two TDs for the first time in forever, but Mac still threw an early INT and did nothing in the 1st quarter leading to a deficit they never got out from under. It's not as lost of a cause as it seems especially when you factor in the missing pieces to injury, but I just can't understand why Mac can't figure it out or another guy wouldn't baseline put you in a more shallow hole.

Brady covered so much for those teams. It allowed them to get rid of good players and acquire draft picks. It also allow them to be cheap when paying players.
It sank in vs DAL just how bad this team is. Add in the injuries & the only thing anyone should want is a top-5 pick. Be the best thing for this franchise to get a legitimate franchise QB.
This was a lost season several games ago. Was obvious to anyone who sees this team and other teams play. More than just needing a new QB. Way more is needed. Pats need a new GM to build a modern roster, a new Coach - a younger, hungry guy- to coach the team. Will likely need a new QB just for salary cap reasons. Will need a cheap QB salary for 2024-2027. Will need all that salary cap space to sign free agents. Been obvious to all who could see this. Watch college football to see which QB should be picked. Look for 2024 Free Agents to sign. Which Pats should be traded for draft pick capital?
the first two showed enormous promise. Mac had poise, they could move the ball as the game went on, the defense was awsome - they just had too many starting mistakes that they couldn't overcome. Seemed like a little bit more practice would iron that out. But then the o-line collapsed, Mac lost all faith in the o-line and plays like a chicken with his head cut off, and Billy O doesn't seem to gameplan around this glaring issue. Plus the receivers are bottom-tier (although Bourne is reliable at least). No running game = no play action, no scary receivers = no scheming and no easy throwing windows. Plus the depleted defense who needs some time to gel (and isn't as good). So EVERYTHING is bad right now. They need to just do simple shit: get 6 or 7 linemen and run the ball. Only throw quick crossers or smoke routes. Do this over and over again until you build up some confidence and teams start learning how to take both weapons away.
@victorislassanchez7173 I definitely think Bill is gone after this year. Definitely getting his GM duties taken away at the very least. But I think it's time they move on. New GM, new coach, new QB. They have the most money to spend this off-season. They need a fresh start all around. There's no repairing what's going on with them right now.
When he was winning his lack of explanation was charming now that there consisntely loosing and loosing badly its unacceptable. He needs to go. Mac needs to go.
Honestly of all the things people complain about I never got this one. It's a team-wide media policy to say as many words as you can without saying anything to the media. When players do it we shrug it off and laugh, Mac is actually amazing at rambling and saying nothing. In Bill's case he says nothing and doesn't try to hide it, which is IMO more respectable because he isn't trying to save face or appease anyone or seem more charming than he actually intends to be like the players do. There are so many more football related things to harp on him for this season instead of the media stuff which we should all know by now is never going to change.
He got rid of Brady, and as Curran has noted - Belichick was actually thinking about doing it for years before he did. He's got the GOAT playing right under his nose for over a decade, and he doesn't understand how good he really is or that he still has more good years in him. How much of a "genius" can that guy really be???
Hey Tom and Phil, please beat the drums and sound the alarm to get Thornton, "Pop" Douglas and Boutte on the field with Bourne! Give the youngsters a chance to add some juice to this terrible offense! Give the youngsters an opportunity! Wow!
There's no guarantees that Caleb would do any good u know how many busts number one overall picks have been busts we build on the Qb we have instead of blaming him for everything

Phil makes a great point about FA and Compensatory Picks. But Belichick thinks his roster is fine. This is why Belichick needs to be fired! It's time to: 1. Fire Belichick 2. Tell new Head Coach Mayo, your job is to evaluate this team and not to win. We need to have a chance at QB's Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. 3. WR's DeVante Parker & Ju Ju Smith-Schuster need to be cut next season! Yes, you will need to eat some of their contracts. The Ghost of Belichick's poor roster building is going to hurt the team well after Belichick is fired.

I'm happy for my boy Jakobi. He was what I considered a True Patriot a hard working underdog that deserved a payday.I hope Jimmy G can get healthy so I have a team to root for this season
Yes, he was always a pleasure to see play or listen to him in an interview, and of course he was their most productive receiver, and was reported to be a leader in the team. The Patriots really screwed up when they got rid of him.
He was an example of the Patriot way....which is why he's gone, because the Patriot Way went to Tampa all that's left now is a spiteful overrated coach and his ego
@theblackflame4002 It's hard to make anything work when you don't believe in something.Tom Brady lead his team with a mentality of a true leader and lead with his team by example.Guys like Jakobi are what the Patriot Way was supposed to be all about. The underdog that works hard and strives for greatness.Bill has put together a bunch of individuals starting with our qb that just don't have that dog in them on the offensive side of the ball......We are so far gone from when we came out of the tunnel as a team at the Super Bowl in 01.Great Memories that will live forever!
After 20 years with the Patriots, it's the least Kraft could do to pay him back for building the success. I always felt like Brady would retire as a Patriot and go up to the front office. If Kraft ever intends to pass the baton, he'd want to make sure it is in good hands. Right now, there's no real draw for draftees or free agents to want to go to NE anymore. But, alas, Brady can't be a Fox new sports analyst for the next ten years AND work for one of the NFL teams at the same time. Owners won't allow that.
So as we look back cam should have started Mac wasn’t ready but Tom Phil and every other journalist was like Mac this Mac that I’m over Mac and was never for him. At this point let Malik and Zeke start and see what happens at least it would be entertaining #freemalik
The really sad thing about this year's edition of the Pats is that they are unwatchable. Week after week, we see them trying to mount a comeback in the second half, but come up short due to mistakes and lack of impact players.
Reporter: "Bill, what is the cause of all the penalties?" Bill's true answer: "Well no players respect the coaches because of horrible personnel decisions, so everyone is pretty much out there playing for themselves and not the team. We have no discipline because Brady isn't here to reinforce it with the players. No one likes or respects Mac. We need a new QB and I'll be lucky to have a job here next year. Next question."
Multiple players have spoken and told the fans/media they still believe in the team and the direction Bill was aiming for this season. I have not seen any media or fan until your comment assert that the players are upset over personnel decisions unless that is in reference to Mac continuing to play every week despite his severe regression.
@@donywahlbergare you serious? obviously the players are going to say that to the media. It's called "coach speak" for the uninformed. These are just my observations and opinions. Fire sale should be a serious thought. It does not seem like players with contracts coming up will even want to be in NE for the future. Sell 'em while you can get something for them. I'd include getting some picks for BB...at this point. P.s. I'd keep Dugger, Hunter(I think he's coming up, not sure)and Wenu but trade everything else that isn't nailed down. MAYBE keep Mac as a bridge/QB2 cuz he's still cheap.
Tom commented on how slow Rhamondre Stevenson was getting out into his route and getting his head around when Mac Jones was sacked for a game-sealing safety. The host of QB School noticed the same thing while reviewing film on another Mac Jones sack during the Dallas game. Stevenson is supposed to be the "safety valve" when Mac gets pressure on plays like that - but the pressure is coming so quickly, that if Stevenson doesn't sprint out there and get turned around quickly, he's not available when he's needed.
Bill is clueless that he sucks as a GM assessing offensive talent. Glad to see Tommy in the acceptance phase of grieving. Give the New England GM job to the Senator.

@@Andy_Babb it’s sad too because I have lived in those island most my life and my closest uncle was a big pats fan. Enjoyed watching Bledsoe and early Brady days . They can’t ever take those memories from you or me.
The level of play of this Pats team is at the 1-31 Browns level, but at least those teams seemed to have some modicum of heart in their losses. This Patriots team is downright disgraceful and seems like it doesn't even care about having dignity...
My seven-year-old son knows that DeVante Parker is not a receiver you build your offense around. How does the greatest coach of all-time not know that? 🤔
I know there are so many things to point out at any point in the game in terms of throwing blame but we are now 2 games removed from Dallas and Mac has not made any improvements. It was far from perfect but you got increased production from; WRs YAC, OL (run blocking), both RBs (near 5.0YPC) and then the QB stats look basically the same. The YPA has gone down every week for Mac since the Jets game, he is still throwing early INTs and failing to build a lead, and the defense even helped out with an early INT he turned into a 3-and-out. I am going to go crazy if we continue to roll out the same lines about Mac. Someone said on the postgame show last night "he wasn't good this game but that missed catch by Devante Parker had to be Mac's best throw as a Patriot" What the fuck does that mean??? What silver lining is being grasped onto there that tells you Mac wants to or can improve???
See if San Fran would be interested in giving NE a 4th rounder for McCorkle. Maybe call Denver to see if they would be interested in Mac. Maybe Call Arizona.
There isn’t a single opponent on our schedule that didn’t pencil in a win against the Pats even BEFORE this season started. They were right and that says it all with respect to the “talent” on this team.
Patriots will most be 1-7 after playing Bills and Miami but watch if the Jets beat the Giants after their bye week, the fools who still think we shouldn't tank will justify that foolishness like "Well Miami and the Bills are two of the best teams in the NFL and The Jets beat the Eagles who we almost beat and we beat the Jets so why should we tank we can 9 straight and finish 10-7"
I didn't have confidence in them, and I knew the AFC East was getting stronger, but I really didn't think it could be this bad. The Dallas and New Orleans games, holy s---, they're not just losing, they're completely incompetent.
Anyone who doesn’t understand that the game has passed 71 year old Bill Belichick by is either ignorant or in denial. Everything comes to an end and it’s simply over for him.
LOL, imagine he had a QB who could deliver *high QUALITY plays with a CHEAP squad,* Pats would be fine, and Belichick the id10t would still look like a genius, and his stupid fans like you would still talk about what genius he is
Bill just can't score in the first quarter anymore and he keeps throwing early INTs. Throwing across his body multiple times over the last few games for INTs is unacceptable for Bill how does he expect his team to play from a 10+ pt deficit in the first quarter every week he needs to clean this stuff up and put points on the board. Totally agree.
Yes, I still see guys like "Wiggy" at WEEI that still have Belichick on a pedestal. Anything that goes right - Bill is responsible, anything that goes wrong - must be someone else's fault. He's just got this blind spot there... total denial indeed.
As an Eagles fan, Mac Jones sucks big time. The Patriots should've never gave him an third chance but noooooo he blew it again. Please bench him for the rest of 2023 this season. It's all Mac Jones's fault. The Patriots better draft an QB as the new starting QB in 2024 next season. Mac Jones needs to go. Also Head Coach Bill Belichick deserves to be fired. Bye Bye Mac Jones and Bill Belichick. Go now!!!!
It's funny, I was thinking about the Patriots being sellers a couple weeks ago, I think at this point, you need to. It sucks that these core guys could be shipped off, but I think draft capitol has to be a priority at this point.
Yeah they should be sellers. Sell who though? You might be able to get 6th round picks for some of the defense. The valuable players (Judon and Gonzalez) are hurt. The next best (White) got hurt today. There just aren't any valuable players that will get good draft picks in a trade on this year's Patriots.
@@jbbrolic Those guys do have value though, injuries aside. The team is in bad place, but they're good players and will thrive in a more functional system.
I don’t care. The coach doesn’t care. The players don’t care. Nobody cares. Penalties x 3rd and longs x Parker drops ball x Mac Jones interception = frustration on all levels !
There are players I really like and hope don't leave, hunter henry and matt judon top the list of guys I hope whether through this. Im really worried about a firesale if we dont get a win by halloween..
Such a frustrating shame! Of course the chance for a playoff season is done. already! (Still knowing that having Jacobi would have put us in a winning mode to this point; but that's history....this is now.) With the season now being 'done', what decent players will want to come here to play before the trade deadline arrives....or even sometime later? Brutal. Doing the math, looking at the AFC standings and schedules, there's no morale booster, and yet so much season left.
Billy B won't retire. His wife left him. His long term partner left him. Football is all he has left. Next year he will be the oldest coach ever. But he don't care.
You can't win with the worst offensive line in football, no offensive weapons, and a QB who looks like hes actively trying to get benched. Not only that, but they're the worst coached team in football. Its up to kraft to stop being a coward and do what needs to be done.
We are seeing why Miami released Parker and Gesicki. Great selections, Bill!! Oh yeah, let's give Parker a raise for non-performance. Right up there with releasing Meyers and selecting JuJu. Holy CRAP!!! What a GM!!
Anyway you slice it...this dumpster 🔥 fire is fully engulfed at this point......passive Bob craft(in his 80s!)..must be losing his mind.......been a Pats follower since mid '70s...this cluster💣 reminds me of the early '90s...Ownership needs to mention to the Hoodie that the game has passed him bye...sooner rather than later......new coaching blood is needed at this point....thats plain to see...at the very least. It will be interesting to see how this plays out⏳️...........🤔
I can't defend where the Pats are, but there's no point in firing Belichick now. Who are you going to replace him with? The narrow pool of potential coaching hires to replace the likes of Scarnechia and McDaniels hasn't helped. The Patriot way is failing the Patriots.
Cause for all the penalties? The lack of talent/good play these guys have on this team...they have to commit penalties because they are not good enough to play the right way. Its what happens when a HC drafts/adds thru FA/pickups players who are D grades at best You add crap..you get crap..
@cityofthechamps6242 you are entitled to that opinion. When he moves on to another team, OR better for us, he gets a competent set of players around him on offense, your opinion will likely change.
At this point why does the media ask questions, we already know he gonna read the same script, plus we can see what's happening they're not a good team overall
Ill make a BOLD PREDICTION. Bill goes to Dallas next year as head coach only. He will have talent , Micha, dan quinn to help with the defense, jerry as gm. He wants Shula 's record. Jerry ( like he did with parcells , will bring bill in over Mccarthy to capture another superbowl in desperate need for 1 more. God knows bill wants another. Might be a perfect fit , especially if McDaniels gets fired . Watch for it. Bill B to Dallas. First thing he'll do is bench dak for trey lance
Immediately at the end of the season the Pats need to trade Mac and BB to the Raiders. BB would still be a good defensive coordinator for Josh. They need to call in Scott Pioli or someone else with a proven record and put him to work as GM as soon as possible. The new GM will need to do a lot of preparation. Mayo should become defensive coordinator, not GM. Absolutely no D-oriented person for GM! It must be someone willing to make a true fresh start and stress offense from day one.
I think the problem is the players as it is just not the right mix of them. I believe that Bill can still coach. What if Bill coached the Chiefs and Ried coached the NE I think their records would be close to the same. It would be good for the team to loose that rest of their games and draft a top QB.
I don’t know why I keep tuning in as a Dolphins fan after Patriots losses. I can’t look away I’m subconsciously enjoying the Patriot empire fall. I will say however BB mentioned he’s starting over. This very well could be BB playing his genius card one last time to rebuild the team w a new QB in the draft bc hes over Mac. All depends if Kraft is on the same page.
amazing how bb acts like his decisions on personnel have had nothing to do with this crappy team. all the while no word from kraft. its amazing how many former pats players are playing for other nfl teams
I might be crazy, but if they're blowing it up totally, there is one guy you almost certainly can get a first round pick for and that's Gonzalez. It'd be a shame, but what would be the point in having him, he seems a luxury they're not going to need for years, by which time he may just move on anyway for a mega paycheck. If they're going the route of tearing it all the way down, I maximize the picks and really bottom out for a couple years, it's only way to really build the talent pool back up. Trade Gonzo, Mac if you can get any return at all, Uche, Duggar, Judon too even. Go for the best tackle this year and/or best WR, then run Zappe (you Zappe fanatics can have your moment) or Cunningham out there next year and see about winning 0-2 games and repeating. In a few years things will look optimistic again. All I can't stand is the idea of using a top 5 pick on a QB and then thinking that you're not just going to waste his rookie deal with the state of this team. You do that this year, I bet you're full on in the cycle of re-drafting a QB every 4-5 years in a spiral of losing. If the projected free agent list I was reading was accurate, you're not going to be able to bolster the line nor WR through that route. I mean, do we want a 32 year old Mike Evans at that point anyway? So they're really going to need a few years of high picks.
I see your point in trading Gonzo but I think that’s far too risky. He is probably the best draft pick we’ve had in years, a sure-fire probowler at the least. Getting a first for him is probable, and maybe you can use it on a position of higher priority…but there’s no guarantee it works out with said draft pick, and we’ll regret getting rid of Gonzo. But I’m biased cause he’s my favorite player on this roster
why tf would you give away a promising star on a rookie contract in order to gamble on drafting a different star on a rookie contract. This team needs talent at every position. Don't give away cornerstone talent on the CHANCE you could draft better.
@GravityB2 because they just re- signed Jonathan Jones, they have the other Joneses under contract too, so they have a solid group in the CB room, and if they're really blowing it all up otherwise, having a true number 1 corner is a complete waste on a 0-5 win team, which they'll be for the next several years. If they are going to do what these guys are saying and building offense first, they need a lot of premium draft capital. I love Christian Gonzalez, but if they're looking at going winless or eking a couple out next year and the year after, the guy is just toiling here.
@brohain612 I'd miss him, I guess I should reiterate that I'm saying this based on these pundits' assertion that they're doing a full reset and rebuild and that they need a philosophy change to be offense first. If that's the route, they're not building around a corner. And there's no way they're looking at the playoffs for a few years, so yeah, a gamble, but one you take if you're bottoming it right out for pick stacking the next few years.
I find it hilarious that Patriots fans and media are freaking out over this season. The team wasn't that good last year and then the NFL absolutely screwed the Patriots with a brutal schedule. We all looked at the schedule and said oh shiot this is going to be a tough one. Especially for a below 500 team that has glaring offensive issues. Bills only chance of having a decent year was his defense being dominant because the offensive needs so much work. Thats Bills fault for neglecting the offense for a decade because he had the GOAT. I think Bill wants out of NE and he's no longer committed to the organization.
Keep signing washed ex-dolphins 😂😂 we’re laughing at you. Keep thinking Mac is better than Tua or any decent QB. Oh and by the way Tus won with Parker and Mike and a very bad line 😂😳

the first two showed enormous promise.
@daverooks4554 at this rate we are going to be taking Caleb Williams #1 overall. Love the pats but they are the worst team in football right now.
@@austinwilborn8514bro, with BB at GM, hi probably will trade down to take a Guard or a random S
Scummy Bill thinks he is the mafia godfather of the NFL. Lie, cheat, steal and win. Now he's a scummy loser. Even cheating doesn't work. Fire the bum.
We are the "get right" team in league, right now.
Bill should have been fired 3 years ago, washed up long ago as Linda smart enough to say enough
Wow!
Tom E. Curran makes a great point, that Kraft can't trust Belichick going forward with Building the Patriot's roster!
Tom lol. Never have wiser words been spoken. “They started like ass and they ended like ass.”
I was low key rooting to lose and they delivered. One step closer to caleb
For real lol at this point I’m taking amusement in watching the train wreck

Phil makes a great point about FA and Compensatory Picks. But Belichick thinks his roster is fine. This is why Belichick needs to be fired! It's time to:
1. Fire Belichick
Phil nails it again! The 2024 NFL Season starts TODAY! And If I'm Robert Kraft the 1st move for the 2024 season is FIRING BELICHICK TOMORROW MORNING!!!
Hey now..we got JuJu. 😂
Jakobi. 30rec/335yds/11.2avg/4TD in 5 games. JuJu. 14rec/86yds/6.1avg/0TD in 5 games.
Clean house.. Offer Brady a piece of the team and make him president/GM. May be then they can get some good players in the building.
And the fact they spot the other team too large of a lead! LOL
Raiders win Raiders win!!!! No stinky tuck rule today.
My 5-12 prediction months ago for the Pats is actually a win now....may only win a game or two more.
Reporter: "Bill, what is the cause of all the penalties?"
Bill's true answer: "Well no players respect the coaches because of horrible personnel decisions, so everyone is pretty much out there playing for themselves and not the team. We have no discipline because Brady isn't here to reinforce it with the players. No one likes or respects Mac. We need a new QB and I'll be lucky to have a job here next year. Next question."
well said

Multiple players have spoken and told the fans/media they still believe in the team and the direction Bill was aiming for this season. I have not seen any media or fan until your comment assert that the players are upset over personnel decisions unless that is in reference to Mac continuing to play every week despite his severe regression.
@@donywahlbergare you serious? obviously the players are going to say that to the media. It's called "coach speak" for the uninformed. These are just my observations and opinions. And over 30 people agree with me and not 1 person liked your comment so we can see who is the winner here. Also dude, this is like the 2nd time I've seen you comment on one of my comments lol. How about you write your own comments and see how many people agree with you 😜
Fire sale should be a serious thought.
The theme song to Kill Bill plays through my head while watching the Patriots😂🤣😂🤣
Bill is clueless that he sucks as a GM assessing offensive talent. Glad to see Tommy in the acceptance phase of grieving. Give the New England GM job to the Senator.
Tom also thought they could win 12 games he’s just mad the team is making him look dumb
Belichick still thinks he should be on Mount Rushmore - he would have to look up the definition of "humility" to know what it is.
It's ganna take time boys!
They should fire Bill, trade MacCorkle and tank for Caleb. Start fresh next year with a new coach an QB.

Someone said on the postgame show last night "he wasn't good this game but that missed catch by Devante Parker had to be Mac's best throw as a Patriot"
What the fuck does that mean??? What silver lining is being grasped onto there that tells you Mac wants to or can improve???
Fire Bill after they go 1-7, test drive Mayo as Interim, to get a head start on the search. Hire Jim Harbaugh.
See if San Fran would be interested in giving NE a 4th rounder for McCorkle. Maybe call Denver to see if they would be interested in Mac. Maybe Call Arizona.
Who on gods earth is trading for mac
There isn’t a single opponent on our schedule that didn’t pencil in a win against the Pats even BEFORE this season started. They were right and that says it all with respect to the “talent” on this team.
mayo with a recruitment team and a stack of picks. Ten year plan.
Patriots will most be 1-7 after playing Bills and Miami but watch if the Jets beat the Giants after their bye week, the fools who still think we shouldn't tank will justify that foolishness like "Well Miami and the Bills are two of the best teams in the NFL and The Jets beat the Eagles who we almost beat and we beat the Jets so why should we tank we can 9 straight and finish 10-7"
reality sunk in well before yesterday
I predicted 3 wins at the beginning of the season and got laughed at 😂
I didn't have confidence in them, and I knew the AFC East was getting stronger, but I really didn't think it could be this bad. The Dallas and New Orleans games, holy s---, they're not just losing, they're completely incompetent.
Throw in malik for a couple weeks this season and ill be happy knowing what we have heading into next season.

What a GM!!

It was all Tom Brady. Holding it all together. All those years. THERE IS NO PATRIOTS WAY! THE OLD FRANCHISE IS BACK.
Would you prefer a burger king or McDonald's coupon for Mac? What you want the raiders to give up a player or draft choice for Mac?
Yeah, they sure started over and responded Bill.
Where are all the "in Bill we trust" cultists now?
I like Phil having to slightly shout over Soulja boy
I think the problem is the players as it is just not the right mix of them. I believe that Bill can still coach.
What if Bill coached the Chiefs and Ried coached the NE I think their records would be close to the same.
It would be good for the team to loose that rest of their games and draft a top QB.
Kraft would talk to Brady
I don’t know why I keep tuning in as a Dolphins fan after Patriots losses. I can’t look away I’m subconsciously enjoying the Patriot empire fall. I will say however BB mentioned he’s starting over. This very well could be BB playing his genius card one last time to rebuild the team w a new QB in the draft bc hes over Mac. All depends if Kraft is on the same page.
truly remarkable how Brady won as much as he did with this loser organization
amazing how bb acts like his decisions on personnel have had nothing to do with this crappy team. all the while no word from kraft. its amazing how many former pats players are playing for other nfl teams
Spot on.
Burn it all down. Rebuild starts this offseason.
Every season is a loss if you don't win a Superbowl , same with every other team .
last 3 games mac jones 0td 5int a fumble six and a game-losing safety
seems reasonable to keep him in as the starter
Pleaaseeeeeeeee tank for #1 seed
they honestly need a fire sale before the trade deadline and get whatever picks they can and clean house.
This was a lost season before it even started.
