Billy kills it with his Arp! what an awesome solo 2:29. The sound he got out of that thing. Def the punk / new wave synth that cuts through. What I'd give to see them tour with an ARP
Yeah, he played it like a lead guitar, think a lot of the sound is changing the pulse width and an electric mistress flanger, I missed this tour but saw the rage in Eden tour with the arp.
This song is more futuristic than today's songs, even more than the music tracks of the Cyberpunk 2077 game. Whenever you hear this song, it makes you think of an alien cyborg invasion in the future. You can even hear the nasty situation in the lyrics as if it's the result of a high tech war.
Good concert version of 'All Stood Still' by the newly formed of Ultravox. Even the 1980 of their album 'Vienna' is a good album, but for me they went down hill after that. And I preferred Ultravox with founding member and front man John Foxx, which unfortunately they did not have a good following and because of that Island Records dropped them. I did see Ultravox in concert in March of 1979 when I was 23 with John Foxx and guitarist Robin Simon at the Whiskey A-Go-Go in West Hollywood, California. They financed that US Tour themselves. Ultravox was a big influence on Gary Numan when John Foxx was with the band.
Oh so hot, Midge and his guitar , so sexy . Cant help but notice how amazing the back up singers are. Really enjoyed perving on Midge ha , such good eye candy . Hoping the lads will do 1 last world tour , cross fingers x
I've heard severall interviews from Midge Ure. How come do scottsmen have such strong an accent when talking and none when singing ? Just an innocent question from a french Ultravox fan...
The lights went out (The last fuse blew) The clocks all stopped (It can't be true) The program's wrong (What can we do?) The printout's blocked (It relied on you)
Was the 'Momument' backdrop only used at the Hammersmith Odeon shows in late 1982? I've seen a few shows on this tour and the stage is more or less bare.
2023 and Ultravox sounds so fresh! Ahead of time
To think Ultravox were considered 'uncool'...... if ever there was a punk synthesist, it was our William.
Outside of Billy Currie, their melodies were way too basic for my taste. Uncool? Basically , that was a yes for me!

Any more please 🙏.

This always reminds me of Vital Signs by Rush
a curious, weird but i can understand, not well, ok
Careless memories duran duran
8 or 16 note sequencers were becoming available in the early 80’s and thats the kind of sound that results.
Billy curry god
This is something Paul Rudd/ Jimmy Fallon should cover. And get Aiden Gillen to play the drummer.

That was Midge Ure's latex girlfriend at that time.
