    Father of 3 here. You are gone and it hurts but you are doing more for your children than you realize. Perseverance, self confidence and FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS. Such great life lessons. Keeping going dude! ❤

    Making your goals and dreams come true is a really good thing to show your children, its not being gone for selfish reasons. Your kids know that you love them. Your son is going to remember that you came home for his birthday party and he's going to be proud of you. By sharing the trail many people get to have an experience that motivates them to do more

    If you need the break, take it... BUT, you remember when you skipped a portion due to others advice and regretted it... I'd suggest keeping the pace you want and if you come up against high water, play it safe and stop if you need to there.

    Don't know how far behind you're with the videos, but watched a video of someone do Forrester pass that was posted today. I believe the video was from May 17th. They also filmed some river crossings that didn't look too scary. Of course, water levels a week ago doesn't say much about water levels when you're there but the Sierras certainly looked very doable for mid May.

    I am looking forward to hearing your opinion on night hiking the aqueduct. It's actually one of my favorite sections, I have done it twice now and both times at night and both times regretted it the next day! It just left me exhausted and hiking in the heat very miserably the next day. I hiked till 12- 1am (just wanted to be in bed) and then sucked in the morning having to get up and hiking throughout the day having hiked so late. My next hike I will just hike as normal and be able to enjoy the scenery. Also thanks for the videos, I feel like I am hiking right along with you.

    so enjoy your videos man. been watching you on and off for many years. i’ve considered doing the AT or PCT in the future but i do worry about leaving my little 3 year old man. although he’ll be a couple years older or so if i do this. but just not sure how id be away from him for so long. he’s my best friend. how do you do it?? i’m also 51 but a fit 51 year old dude :) sometimes my age intimidates me as well as to doing one of these trails. as you can see, i got me some fears! 😂 keep up the badass videos!

    40l should totally be doable with 9 days of food. Bear can on top, filled with tent, quilt, puffy, clothes. Food inside the pack and in a side pocket. Then change food into bear can for the night. It won't fit the first 2-3 nights. Remember you'll carry much less water in the desert, I did 2 liters mostly in one side pocket.

  • @EdwardGomillion
    @EdwardGomillion Місяць тому +1

    Hey, I know this isn't your first rodeo. I haven't seen you hanging a bear bag or stashing your food away from your tent. Still, that doesn't mean you're not doing that. So, what are you doing with your food bag? BTW - Great job on your editing.

    I must have missed something, what happened to the Topo Terraventures? Curious what caused the shift to Ultraventures (and now Mountain Racers).

    • @FrozensAdventures
      @FrozensAdventures  Місяць тому +1

      Terraventures were switched to a new cushion footbed called zip foam. It absolutely sucks. I went up in cushion to ultraventures but also wanted to try the mountain racers. I like both. Currently trying to decide which I like better.
