- I've travelled to Swansea to try the one and only branch of Denny's in the UK.
And I leave shocked, wondering "Is this the worst food I've ever reviewed?"

Hi folks - hope you enjoy the video!! Let me know what you make of the food etc. at Denny's ! I'm off out to a family dinner now, so I will be catching up on the comments later - in the meantime talk amongst yourselves 🙂
Enjoy family time ❤
oh have a nice time 🎉❤Greeno
Underwhelming can't beat a cafe for breakfast proper greasy spoon.
Oh noooo don’t look very appetising Greeno🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣you can buy the scoop chips now I think it’s Mc’cain who do them👍🏻bit of a rip off really I’m so glad you complained 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤦🏼♀️have a great time with family🩷🩷🩷xxx
Looked alright 2 me,
But a very long wait,!!!!!
Came here after the awards video. Fair play Greeno for sticking it out, im sure you wanted to just get up and run out after plate 1! It really was a disgrace. How places like that are still open is baffling. Loved the physics comment about the bacon "They've managed to make it greasy yet dry at the same time...how thats possible given the laws of physics?" 🤣🤣
This was an absolute shocker, hopefully I won't have to encounter anything this bad in 2025, although I am sure some will come close!!
dennys is horrible in america too so you got an authentic experience
🤣
Haha, fair enough!
Only the Welsh could f*ck up a Denny’s breakfast..
Same in Canada, Terrible quality food. looks good on plate but made with poor ingredients and sloppy uninspired preparation.
👏
Came here after the mention from Gary Eats! I’m a Brit expat in the US for the past 15 years. I used to occasionally get a Denny’s breakfast when traveling, but quality went so far down into the toilet that these days I wouldn’t consider it if I was starving. Great to find another good channel to watch.
Welcome tot he channel! I heard a lot of the US "fast food" kind of chains have gone right downhill in recent years, what a shame.
That rivals Taco Bell!
I'd love for you to go try it yourself Gary - just so I know someone else had to endure it too haha!!
🤣🤣🤣🥰
Thought that was @GaryEats in the background 🤔🤔😂😂
Please don't suggest Greeno goes to Taco Bell Gary! You, me and thousands of others should protect him at all costs.😂
@@mah3223alia too late, I already went!!!
£36 quid, a 30 minute wait, a long drive, to be served that absolute crap!
Yep. Happens though in this game, got to take the rough with the smooth sometimes!
Time to lose this channel since you never have anything good to say about American products with your anti-American bias.
@@stevefragnito4853 Sad for you, honesty hurts sometimes, perhaps if the food was better it would get a good review!!
@jacquibradley1598 . Coming from the land of beans on toast and farting all day, and blood in their pudding. Definitely 🤢🤮
@@stevefragnito4853 Bless you Steve, I just fart these days cause I am old and do not live in England!! Have a great day! 🤗🤗
My brother is a chef. He says never go to restaurants with a huge menu because it wouldn't be good.
It's generally true, the more honed down the menu is, the better the focus on quality!
Too right, nothing worse than a kebab place with 8 boards on the wall and the place is no bigger than your kitchen, keep well away
I went to Dennys in glasgow a few years ago, We walked in and were met by a waitress who told us it would be a 45min wait for food, I looked around and only spotted 2 other customers in the restaurant I kid you not! I asked why it was a 45 min wait she said they were really busy😂 I just laughed and walked out and never went back, it closed not long after❤
I bet that closure didn't surprise you!
in America, a lot of them also double as "ghost kitchens" for food delivery apps. (basically cooking food for another brand that's obly delivery). thus can have noone inside... yet a busy kitchen.
Denny’s is the worst, slow and overpriced for £36. Yes, we thank you for your suffering Greeno.
Thanks Patrick - I suffer for my art hahaha!!
I used to work at a Denny's (in America). Nobody should ever eat there for any reason. The only reason to go there at all is if it's the middle of the night and nothing else is open, but just get drinks, not food.
Haha, if that’s the inside track then bless you for sharing. People take note!
Rather you than me. That was awful! Least I know to avoid Denny’s. Never heard of them before, never will go near them. I salute your bravery sir!!
Thanks Chris - definitely one to avoid!
American here : Ya put Butter on the Hash Browns! And if the Butter on the pancakes hadn't melted .... send them back! Syrup on the pancakes!
The hash browns were so greasy, if I had added any more fat on them they would have slid off to the bin of their own accord!
I worked 1 shift at a Denny's back in the 80s. The food then was no better than mid-level even for diners. It was, however, generally ... ok. As long as you stuck to basic preps. Order the cheeseburger, not the Hawaiian cheeseburger. Like that. Now mind. I NEVER knew Denny's as an "upscale" anything. They were usually open 24 hours, and their busiest shift was bar closing time, between 1am and 3am. Uni students would go there to drink coffee and study all night, and eat some french fries maybe. And the after-bar crowd. A breakfast rush was their secondary strong point, and then brand familiarity would attract travellers, so most of the sites were at freeway offramps. That would help a ton with their lunch and dinner hours.
I worked, as I say, 1 shift. I never even went back for my paycheck. It was a long and exhausting 11pm to 7am deal, but what really killed me was this sink right inside one of the employee access doors into the kitchen. It was full of grey, polluted-looking water, and it had a bunch of mops sticking up out of it. It was a really large sink, for utility purposes rather than any standard household size. It was completely full, and I have never smelled anything worse in my life.
Like I say, I never went back. Ever. To any Denny's. And I never will. There used to be LOTS more of them about, but now they buy the absolute lowest-level industrial food from the standard restaurant suppliers - just a few notches above prison catering. It's abominable.
Wow, 1 shift enough to out you off ever venturing inside another branch ever, that tells a story. Thanks for the insight! I certainly won’t be in a rush to return that’s for sure!
That all American slam breakfast is barely £2.00 worth ingredients and the cheeky buggers are charging your £12.99 for it in Swansea too! 😂 too funny 😂
Absolute rip off isn’t it!
They also had one outside Glasgow which didn’t even last a year. It was an absolute disaster and the reviews were terrible and it closed.
We went to that one and it was really awful - no wonder it closed
My concern about these places is - who are they hiring to cook and why are they letting this happen.
If you look at Weatherspoons as an example then you'll see how they operate a chain that still offers edible, cheap and decent looking food. Do Dennies staff and management put the blame on the ingredients they're cooking with or do they point fingers at inexperienced cooks?
I can't imagine why........ haha
Who knows - say what you like about Spoons (and I do!!) at least they are pretty consistent, and you get what you pay for. This, well, frankly appalling!!
We don't need this in the UK... we know how to do decent cafe food
It's always interesting to see where you are going to pop up next. UA-cam is boring on the days you and Gary aren't on❤
Haha - well I understand that Gary will have a new video for you tomorrow, and I'll have one Friday, so that takes you up to the weekend!!
There are no words. We all appreciate you going to Denny's so we don't have to!
You're welcome - I'll suffer on your behalf haha!
Wish IHOP would open back up again over here in the UK. We used to go to the one in Cardiff quite a lot for both breakfast & lunch. Food was really good & reasonable.
Always go to IHOP for breakfast a few times everytime we visit Orlando from the UK. Always a great breakfast & very reasonably priced.
As I understand it they have no plans to open anything in the UK currently.
@GreenoEats thanks for the info. I guess they got burned once over here years ago & are very reluctant to give the UK a 2nd go 😥 😔
In his book, Drew Carey said that the best thing about eating at Denny's is that, all across America, thousands of others were doing the same thing - and were just as unhappy.
haha - that's brilliant!
You're right, I've been to this actual place and it was fucking dreadful
Haha, I didn't put it quite like that myself, but the sentiment very much the same!
Denny is most famous in the US for its lousy food. They're usually positioned next to a cheap hotel, like a Motel 6. Its a shame the UK seems to get stuck with our worst restaurants. We do have a lot of wonderful places to eat.
It was a shocker. Are there any good chains that I should look out for?
When you think what you could have had for 36 quid elsewhere, what a rip off. Cheers Greeno!
Exactly - not moey well spent. My meal in the Welsh House cost half that, and was 10 times as good!
36 notes would buy 2 meals at Miller & Carter before they racked up their prices for Christmas.
@@NikkisNoshwhen back in 1980?
@@danielmosey6203 well, I was paraphrasing a little. In October November 2024 they had a deal on which was only 19.50 per person if I recall as did The Ivy.
@ ahhh you was bullshitting. No worries.
Greasy but dry at the same time 😂...spot on Greeno .
Yes ,that is where we went before the Leeds utd game..😂😂
Oh,how I wish you had done the two reviews before we went to Swansea.
Thank you for being honest . I was a little more honest with them than you were & I got a refund ..
Right - well I can't say I blame you - if your meal was like mine then a refund was well deserved!!
But the game result was good
There are two Denny's within 15 minutes of my house in (Pittsburgh, PA) and my wife loves them. Me, I hate going there! The coffee is the filtered brand, pancakes are always cold and the syrup would not have helped it. The hash browns are cooked in some type of discussing oil that always leaves a terrible taste in my mouth for the entire day. The fries you always have to ask for extra crispy or they will be soggy. I will say this, the service is pretty good here in America and the food is quick for the most part. I've never had to wait for 25 minutes. It's one of the cheapest places to eat and is open 24/7.
I think the US is a lot more service focussed than here generally, so no surprise that you report better and faster service. A shame that the food is no better there though.
One thing is for sure... When Greeno is unhappy and doesn't eat, that means the food is shit!! 😛
Great video man, we love to see you "suffer" for us, keep up the great content! 💖
Haha - I don't like food waste, but nothing I could do to force more of this junk down!
We have it in Canada too, it's when you are desperate, hungry at 2am , " is anyone hungry ? "
" There's a Dennys on the corner ! " That will do
Nobody ever " plans " to go to Dennys 😂
So many people saying Dennys can only be consumed after considerable amounts of alcohol has been consumed!
Gordon Bennett Greeno! I felt queasy just watching that.
Try eating it !! (actually, don't!)
@GreenoEats it made me think I must buy some fruit to be honest!
I remember going to Denny's in the US the 90's and it was okay-ish, especially the free unlimited coffee. All we had to compare chain-wise was Little Chef and the Denny's menu was more extensive and very cheap in comparison - I could get a breakfast, pancakes and unlimited free coffee for under $10 and the exchange rate was way better.
I do prefer that style of hash brown and see that a lot in the US, but what do they do to make scrambled egg look like that - they looked terrible?
I do love a blueberry pancake, but those look frozen. Also, maple syrup and bacon is THE only topping 👍
Real roadside diners are a hidden gem in the US.
Yes - I think you are right, the more authentic experience will be found in the Mom and Pop independent places in the US. This all felt like it had been cooked elsewhere and reheated on site - which makes it hard to understand the 30 minute wait when the restaurant was empty!
I had Denny's at Royal Palm Beach, Florida where my relatives live. I wouldn't touch their bacon. When I stayed with my mother and had power outage. I bought the Denny Breakfast of sausage, scrambled egg, hash browns bacon. The best thing was the hash browns as the rest tasted rank.
If the best thing is those hash browns then there's problems!!
Can’t see this taking off over here! It looked shockingly bad. There’s thousands of cafes all over the country where you’d get better food for half the price!
Agreed 100%
It's been open in Swansea for 6 years. It's overpriced and the wait times are silly nothing like Denny's in the USA. Not sure why they decided to try and make it an upmarket diner instead of a casual chain diner like the USA.
Thank you for taking one for the team Greano. Another one to give a miss.
Yep, a definite AVOID!
I don't enjoy seeing anyone suffer, but I think your most interesting videos are when you have awful food. Your commentary is focused, logical and entirely fair. Thank you.
Haha, glad you enjoy those type of videos more than I enjoy eating the food!
0.5 is very generous considering you have paid a reasonable amount of money for something you didn't even eat.
I think a minus score would have been appropriate as it has left you out of pocket.
That's a fair point - maybe my scale should go into minus numbers on special occasions!
Hey Greeno, I've eaten at this Denny's, we had to wait about 20/25 minutes for 2 burgers & fries. Never waited that long in the US. That sandwich was nothing like sandwiches I've had in the States, it was a bog standard English sandwich regarding bread and filling.
Great vlogs
Glad you enjoyed the video more than I enjoyed the food!
It’s a real shame. I extensively travelled around the US 25 years ago and then Denny’s was good quality and reasonably priced. Following a recent visit last year and having visited Denny’s again and I was shocked. Portion sizes were small, prices were high and the food quality which used to be very good was absolutely dreadful. What didn’t help the staff who 25 years ago were amazing, on my last visit, the staff didn’t “care” and I was so disappointed. For me it looks like the Swansea branch has adopted the low standards which now clearly show in the US restaurants.
A lot of folk reporting similar across many chains in the US, standards lower, portions smaller. All in the name of squeezing every last cent for shareholder dividends.
We used to have Dennies here. They sold sausages. “Ding dong Dennies” was the slogan.
Is that right - I guess they closed down cos they were awful ??
So I can walk to my local Denney's. I was a regular for a long time. When it's good it's good but... yeah when it's not it can be really bad. I 'have stopped going to mine. They have had too many staffing issues and I have given up on them.
If only you had Gary's credit card information lol
I definitely won’t be returning in a hurry!
Gary would of given it A ZERO 🤣... Hope we can get you to 20k subs soon or early new year ...
I think he may well have done!! Fingers crossed the channel continues on an upward trajectory!!
Agreed. I still hope Greeno will do it by Christmas - he sure deserves it. The sight of his cheery face lights up my day.
So bad that even Danny might have come down to 8/10
Greasy but dry is possible if something is precooked, flash frozen and then reheated in grease. (I was in my country's Army)
That might explain it then!
Racially aware toast.
One side dark, one side white.
Menu's to big, must be a nightmare working in the kitchen.
The Ebony and Ivory toast experience huh 🤣
Someone else may have mentioned this, but it wasn't the only Denny's they opened. They also opened one in Renfrew in Scotland, which was, by all accounts, even worse. It didn't last, but the complaints were very much the same ones you mentioned here.
Yes, I did hear there had been a short lived attempt to crack Scotland too!
@GreenoEats waffle house should give it a try. I think that'd be a winner.
@ is that over here?
@@GreenoEats I bloody wish!
Errrm nope 🤢. Maybe that's why there is only one in the UK.
And maybe there will soon be none!!
One too many🤮
30 mins, guess chef Mic didn't get a nice Christmas bonus this year 😂
perhaps not!
As an avid fan of Yourself, Gary and Beard my thoughts on one thing. Many places will actually Cook the food onsite from fresh. But also we have these and similar places where it arrives from a Factory all Vacuum packed from goodness knows where and is just reassembled and heated up.
Yes, this place definitely had strong vibes of the latter being the case!
Is that what they do ? Crikey.
Absolutely outrageous, Greeno. I feel your pain. Thank you for travelling so far. A warning to everybody. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!
Oh dear Greeno I suppose they all can’t be winners 😂 at least your honest, love it keep em coming 👌
Thanks Paul - gotta call it as I see it !
That will be up, up to Swansea from Dorset 👍 great vlog as always
Well a bit up and a bit left 🤣
@ 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You need to come over and try some of our New York delis. To die for. I find it interesting that UK cooks are putting out the same lousy Denny's food we do.
I guess it all comes out of the same corporate cookbook! I should do an NY trip at some point - the Greeno Eats budget doesn't quite stretch that far just yet!!
I don't get that someone in management sees all the empty tables and doesn't think, "this ain't working..." The overheads must be massive. Imagine the weekly call with the area manager? It must be hilarious. Well done on taking one for the team, Greeno 🤣
I do wonder how long this place has to go before it succumbs to a slow lingering death!
That looked horrendous.
Truly appalling
@ It can’t be good for you eat rubbish like that. Please try to keep yourself healthier in 2025 by not eating in those kind of places. We like you reviewing normal places not NHS hospital food. 😟
@ can you imagine, I doubt hospital food would fetch the green light too often haha!
@@GreenoEats 😷😲
At least they made an effort with the Christmas tree 😂 As for the food…horrendous. Thanks for taking one for the team, Greeno.
Can't knock the layout of the restaurant, and the effort they put into Xmas decorarations - if only the food and service matched up to that!!
Massive red light they should be ashamed serving that
They should indeed!
I saw that you came to the Denny's and literally went...oh no 😂😂
Haha!
As soon as I saw the lack of customers, you know what's coming.
I do try to turn up to restaurants at what I think might be quieter times, as it makes filming easier, but this was worryingly quiet!
😂😂😂 30 odd pound for that is criminal greeno looked terrible.thanks for taking one for the team
Really bad wasn't it !
Used have one near Glasgow closed not long after opening as reviews were so bad
I can see why that may have been!
Greeno, 🥰🌸so sorry you had to go through this experience for us. Hopefully, there is better to come. Will you do a Festive collaboration with GaryEats and our lovely cameraman please?❤❤❤
Yes, hopefully better food experiences around the corner! Trying to work something out with Gary, our schedules are pretty busy though.
Worse breakfast I've ever seen pal aneamic toast haha says it all.😅
That toast was just weird - burnt on one side, aneamic on the other
Prior to my return to the UK in 2019, I lived most of my life in the US. I do remember how awful the coffee was at Denny's. Last time I was in one (Houston), the waitress greeted us by complaining about how awful the prior table was. I looked at my husband, and said I didn't want to stay. He agreed, so we left prior to placing our order. The waitress was gobsmacked.
Haha, brilliant!
Fast food taking over 30 minutes! A place to avoid given the quality but very limited number of restaurants anyway. Very good review
Thanks David - I simply can't understand why the food took so long in an almost empty restaurant!
Still have filter coffee here at home. Hotels I noticed use instant coffee in the filter jugs. Coffee was taken from a Maxwell house instant coffee jar into the filter jugs. I was not getting what I expected. It tasted like instant coffee so I quietly investigated..
Certainly not an upmarket place with a ketchup bottle on the table and streaky bacon plus semi toast. I value that at £7 for the cooked breakfast. I live about an hour's drive away by Merthyr Tydfil. I will not be visiting that restaurant.
.
How about visiting the Brickmakers restaurant , Trago mills at dinner time, Merthyr Tydfil. Just off the A470. I live up the top of that hill. It's incredibly good value . Wife a retired chef certainly enjoys it. Also another visit one day for Breakfast, again , good value.
Thanks for the review. Certainly one of the worst from you. Cheap supermarket bread from the sounds of it.
It's ok if you drink it fresh - this coffee I got was certainly not!
Hi Greeno, I’m sorry that you have to endure that awful breakfast. The fact that it was ordering on an app supposed to speed things up! half an hour for breakfast ridiculous and then what they give you is crap! basically for £36 pounds they should’ve given you a refund and compensation on top, like you said they’ve got one in the country.
Well done for telling them about the food. They definitely need to know it’s not difficult to cook a breakfast. Totally unacceptable.
Treat yourself to something nice next time and keep up the good work 👍
Hoping for some better food experiences ahead!!
There were a few Denny's in Australia in the 80's, but they did not last long. None here now.
I get the impression that this UK venture may be equally short lived!
I honestly thought when you picked up the toast it was a joke as on viewing it looked like a beige folded serviette on the side.
30 minutes for that and at £36.... they aren't going last long.
-5 was generous!
Yes - I think this will be a short lived venture into the UK for Denny's if it's like this.
Thank you Gary, not good at all. Thanks for taking one for the team. Smiles from Cyprus. 🤗🤗👍👍
Greeno here…. Haha! It was a rough experience, but not every review can be a winner how ever much I would like them to be!
@@GreenoEats Gosh you are up EARLY!
Think you might need some Milk of Magnesia after that…. well done for taking one for the team 😮
haha - well I can't win them all!!
Fun story, Dennys paid a fortune for product placement in Breaking Bad, so much that over a decade on they can't afford any decent ingredients
hahaha - that sounds like it might actually be true!!
Well Greeno the cost of that crap was robbery. I reckon the butter wasn't butter because it should have melted a bit. Unless the pancakes were just cold. Honestly you could have bought a pancake mix from Aldi or Lidl. I bet that's the sort of stuff they use. Making 'American' pancakes for the boys was a cheap meal back in the day. 0 out of 5 is very generous of you Greeno. 👍🥞
Unless this UK place is just an outlier, I cannot see how they have 1300 branches acorss the States trading - just dreadful!
@GreenoEats Maybe their taste buds aren't as good as ours. Plus the standards of the customers might be lower. There is no comparison with the beautiful Welsh Breakfasts you tried the other day. Hope you didn't feel too sick after having a Denny's. It will probably close down soon. 👍
@ given how empty it was I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s days were numbered
The Denny's near me closed a few years back and sorta dont miss them. After 2010, portions shrunk and prices went up and i just started going to the mom n' pop shops near me instead
And I bet you eat much better, and the service is better right?
Hi Greeno, I tried Denny's when I was living in the US. It was the worst diner food I ever had. Some of the independent diners offered up much better food.
Everything you had there looked poor. Artery clogging muck which isn't worth it as a treat & certainly not for the price.
Would be surprised if this place keeps it's doors open for long.
I hope you have some better meals & nicer cuisines coming up on the channel. It's really annoying when you're paying for a meal & it's practically inedible. I'm sorry it was prettty crap.
Take care Greeno. See you next time. 😊
Thanks Erin - yes I imagine the mom and pop joints that really focus on their customers are much better than this rubbish!!
@@GreenoEatsI spent nearly 10 years in the US, across a few different parts & there were some excellent diners. The family owned ones where they take pride in their food. I remember one in Northern Virginia that was a real standout, but buggered if I'd remember the name now. 😅
Not every restaurant is going to be Michelin star, but nowhere should be serving up food that looks & tastes like that. Quite shameful really. I'm sorry you spent the time travelling & the money for such a poor meal.
@ the perils of being a food reviewer! Sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth (much prefer the smooth of course!)
@@GreenoEats👍 As long as you're enjoying the whole experience of doing the reviews, that's the main thing. I can't see that Denny's lasting long with such slow service & dreadful food. See you on the next one Greeno. Take care
Sorry Greeno I love you to bits but I’m not gonna watch the rest of the video. Food is 🤢 disgusting. 🤮 can’t watch sorry. I could be a fool cause the rest of the food was gorgeous… 👍
You're no fool Philip!!! haha
Spending a couple of years in Fort Sill Oklahoma, my US colleagues used to have a Sunday Brunch in Denny's, so good that I missed the bacon grills from the British Army ration pack, the food was dire, and the service made the NAFFI look good.
That good huh lol
Like the toast, that bacon wasn't cooked for 30 minutes.
I don't know how they managed to made it hard and dry, yet soaked in grease at the same time - defies all laws of science!!
Thanks greeno for taking one for the team!😂definitely won't be sampling dennys
I suffer for my art 🤣🤣🤣
@GreenoEats I salute you
Thanks for the warning Greeno, another one to avoid. JimN
You're welcome!
Another great video Greeno ❤ Denny's used to have a toaster on every table. That was their marketing plan ❤
Now that would have been better, I could have toasted both sides of the bread!
All looks very low end and cheap, yet they charge up market prices.
Not sure what Americans will put up with but, most brits will walk away unimpressed and not visit again.
Agreed - well the occupancy level of the tables tells a tale doesn't it!
I am not a difficult customer, but for £36 that sub standard food would have gone back. Straight out of the microwave bag. The toast was appalling, the scrambled egg was far too dry. The melt wanted binning.
It really was well below par wasn't it. And my "feedback" to the server was met with little more than a shrug. Very poor all round.
Good god. Just leave Greeno.
Ordering through the app means I paid up front - so just had to sit it out!!
Dennys here in the states used to be the go to breakfast spot with great food/prices. It has fallen to the wayside here too. We have a chain called IHOP with great breakfasts but high prices. Nice vid.
We go to IHOP at least once everytime we go to Florida, can't fault them.
Went to Denny's back in 1997, really bad meal, horrible & not been back since.
This Denny's in Swansea is only 40 miles away from where I live & if we go to Swansea, we avoid it like the plague too, just like the 1 on International Drive in Orlando.
IHOP has no plans to come to the UK at this point I understand.
@GreenoEats Shame.
Hi Greeno, it makes me sad when I see you or Gary have a bad experience, I'm glad you said something to them about how bad it was and im 💯 sure you were very polite. How else are they going to improve, so very well done Greeno 💚✌️🙏
Always polite - it' not the server's fault the food was poor, or took so long to come - their just the ones who have to take the customer feedback!
Such a shame, I love Denny’s in America. Incidentally, I thought shake Shack in London was good and Wendy’s in Guildford is great! Another great vid!
We all have different opinions, that’s what makes life interesting!
Things can be bad but your laugh makes it better
Haha, thanks!
Denny’s here in Canada is just cheap hangover/ food. It’s not too bad in my city it’s open 24 hours a day 😂😊
Lots of folk with an alcohol problem huh 🤣
Are there lots of alcoholics in your city 🤣🤣🤣
@@GreenoEatsha yes among other things 😂
Too many things on the menu for me. Not sure that everything is " fresh" , so to speak 🤔😬
I imagine almost everything is made off site and reheated here - which makes it even more baffling that it took 30 mins for my food to be cooked!!
@GreenoEats yep 🤷🏼♀️
Forget Denny's, we all want to see you do Ninja Warrior...!!!! 🤣
Haha, can you imagine? I hope they have a defibrilator on site!
Should have demanded a refund Greeno…if it’s crap..don’t pay !
When filming I never ask for a refund - don't want it to look like I have some kind of agenda. But this time, for the first time ever, I felt compelled to complain to the staff.
If you get a chance whilst in South Wales then visit the 1931 Fish shop in Bargoed. Sit upstairs in a booth. The whole restaurant is dedicated to the old cold mines in the area. Plus the fish and chips are outstanding
Thanks for the tip Peter, I will have a look!
There a small car park opposite too.
Avoid like the plague!
Absolutely - seems like the good folk of Swansea have already made that decision.
Definitely not America's diner. There are to many real diners in New Jersey. I would never go there.
I reckon a mom and pop joint would beat this all day long!
Perhaps you have to work through the menu to find the gems. What you choose looked terrible but I've been there several times on visits to the USA and absolutely enjoyed the beef pot roast with mashed potatoes. Tender and full of flavour; ate it each visit. Burgers weren't bad either.
I think at this branch whatever I ordered would be likely to be poorly cooked based on the evidence here!!
If you have ever lived in the US you’ll find Denny’s and Taco Bell are near the bottom. These types will always be Seppo rubbish
Are there any good US chains I should be looking out for?
@
I was in Houston. The Outback Steakhouses are OK, and TGIFs are OK
I think you have TGIF in the UK.
Well, this is exactly what happens with all these franchises who have started opening in the uk under license. They are completely removed from the US original. Dennys, Taco Bell, Popeyes, chipotle, chick-fil-a. none of them remotely similar to the real thing. bizarre.
Yes, you would think if they really want to crack the UK, send a team over from the States to oversee everything.
Well we'd better get used to Taco Bell, bland and overpriced that it is. They will be the only restaurants left after the Great Franchise Wars.
Oh dear that looked 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
It was dreadful
Had Denny's breakfasts during a 2 week visit in Vancouver around 1985. As a youngster it seemed strange kind of breakfast plate very different to what you would get in Australia/Europe of those days. I think they served it on a plastic plate with a few different sized sections. Due to viewing it as different and very good value I did not mind it so much. Never been back though despite numerous North American visits since. What you got was similar to what I had back then, but very greasy and anything but good value. Your review reaffirmed my intuitive view to stay away from it for decades after trying it (LOL - thanks).
Yep - you're right to have moved on from it!
all american slop more like
Absolutely
Greeno fair play to you mate you are a very kind and forgiving man. That " food" looked disgusting and was certainly not cheap, to give that half a mark is almost a compliment for ghat slop, and sloppy service by the sound of it too. I award you a combat medal for that, you have saved others from that place well done mate😂
I certainly won’t be rushing back there, and hopefully this video helps save a few from a similar fate to what I had!
refund
I never ask for a refund when filming - if it's that bad I still want that anger when I come to finish my review, not finishing on a positive haha
its Vile in the state the open one in Glasgow and lasted a few months
Yes, I did hear about the one in Scotland from other commenters, sounds like it was just as bad as this one!
in the 80's Dennys was great for breakfast in the states. On my most recent trip there - a few years ago-it had really dipped in quality. Loks like it's a shadow of what it once was worldwide
Another corporate behemoth cutting corners to increase profits and shareholder dividends perhaps
