#FullFlight #AmericanAirlines #AirbusA330
This episode is a big one, and there are multiple reasons why it’s special. First, it’s a pre-pandemic flight from Phoenix to Honolulu, so that alone will make it a great escape from today’s world. But it’s also special because this flight was operated by an American Airlines Airbus A330-323, which because of the pandemic, has since been completely retired. None of us will ever fly on one of these in American colors again. American has said it’s possible the A330-200’s come back, but the A330-300 is done, parked, retired, ended its service life, however you want to put it. So, although I had no intent for this to be my last ever American A330-300 flight, it became exactly that. This flight is also just beautiful from start to finish, so that makes it even better. This video has basically become a tribute to this aircraft. Enjoy, for the final time, the American Airlines Airbus A330-323.
Skylite Productions Thank You so so much for sharing. I so enjoyed this beautiful relaxing video. Your video is very precious. I Love flying. I Love this video so so much. Thanks again.
Hi, do you know why American Airlines would "retire" an airline model just because of the pandemic? That sounds interesting. Would love to get your insight because I'm an AAdvantage member and wish to fly to Hawaii next year if COVID clears. Thank you.
Thanx for sharing this beautiful flight🌷😉
Kila Adams there is a main reason why they are simply just done with the a330-300 it’s because they are too costly to fly which is very unfortunate to hear they have been retired which is a complete different reason why all the other airlines are retiring older aircraft but rumor has it they aren’t getting rid of the A330-200 they are just in “long term storage” but this is just horrible for what this industry has gone through and they also have to cut costs which is why you might have heard hundreds of 737 max orders have been cancelled which is extremely unfortunate because that aircraft was suppose to be the safest aircraft after all the repairs were done with 😢
:'(
The A330 is a great aircraft. Very comfortable and quiet.
Ronald Charan It is noisy.
Boeing 777 is better.
I went on it
To much pain& suffering 💝
Not in aa fleet anymore :(
I think A330 planes have the best seatings. Double seats on each side for the couples and 4 in the middes for families and group. It's very quiet planes too.
I love the 2-4-2 config on the A330 too, although the 2-5-2 config used on DC-10s, 777s, TriStars, and more aircraft back in the day is better imo, because it accounts for parties of odd numbers. Too bad it is not really used anymore.
Hello everyone thanks for having me it's my pleasure to meeting you guys 👦 😊 😀

Great vid and fantastic 330 Nice bird
What an awesome aircraft! Absolutely loved this video. Thanks so much for sharing! Good stuff!
Fantastic video, congratulations!
When i’m watching this, it makes me feel a bit less scared of planes cause I’m going somewhere in one week

You know that sinking feeling you get when the aircraft first taking off? I am not even on the aircraft and I feel it from just watching video. lol. Man I miss flying too scared to go anywhere cause I don't wanna bring the VID back to the family, but this is an awesome video.
great video, dude!!

This is how I like flying a330s so the best seat I like sitting is the window side because in the back of the wing you have nice views of what you see on American airlines. Welp I want yo say that this is my favorite video on Earth!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄✈✈✈✈✈✈✈✈
Yessssssssss I love the video!!! The a330 is the best!!!
Hey there. Nice to hear from you. I haven't checked out your channel in some time. I owe you an apology.
Loved it. Many thanks!
Looked like a rather bumpy climb out of Phoenix. Desert take offs are mostly bumpy. No problem in a big Airbus.
Love Sky Harbor airport. Beautiful view flying over Phoenix. I flew American from Phoenix to Salt Lake. Great flight. Please keep these videos coming.
So sad. Especially because yesterday Boeing announcements the end of the 747 program. Many of our favorite birds are leaving the skies faster than we can say goodbye😢
And I heard the A380 just managed to break even financially. The A340 has been out of production since 2011. Airlines just don't want four engined jets. A three engined jet I was sad to see go was the L-1011.
A lot of sad news for us aviation enthusiast recently.
Indeed😔
✈747😭
The 747-800 max or what ever it was never really took off in sales, and Airbus has ended its A380 programme as well, as airlines prefer more economical smaller aircraft that can fly almost into any airport, that is why the A350 and B787 are quite popular for long haul routes.
Although there are still B747 and A380 still flying, once they retire, I wonder if Airports would be annoyed with all that money into widening taxi ways, ramp space and extra higher airbridges for the A380. Didn't really last as long as the B747, but I suppose economy and fuel prices, they don't feel the need for bigger aircraft
Cool!
Nice video!!!
Ahhhh right before COVID messed everything up. Man I miss those days when stuff was normal.
Right?!?!?!?!
Honestly I was shocked when I heard that AA just dropped the A330-300 completely. The A333 is an efficient aircraft, I did not expect them to just trash all of the -300's like that. Could've sworn they had at least 5 years left. And then if that wasn't enough, soon after Delta just retired all of their 777-200ER's and -200LR's. The Delta B77L wasn't even that old, with an average age of 10 years. Truly depressing. Thanks a lot China for screwing the industry over. I can't thank you enough for filming my favorite Airbus airliner on an awesome route in very high quality. Keep up the good work. A beautiful and sad video at the same time.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video my friend. I had planned to fly the American A333 more, but PHX-HNL was a good last ride. Thanks for watching!
@@sla31 No problem! Your videos give me the feeling I'm also on board the flight. Top notch immersion. I also forgot to add that American got rid of the whole 757-200 and 767-300ER fleets too. I thought those types would have some more time and was hoping to personally get on a few. Very unfortunate. At least we can still fly the 757/767 with United and Delta for a few more years.
Lethal Threat I was just saddened to learn about Delta retiring the 77L, truly a special aircraft with its incredible MTOW and RANGE. Like you said not really that old, 2008 first LR joined fleet 2011 the last of 10 joined. I fell in love with those mighty GE-90’s of the LR in 2015 when I traveled to Johannesburg from Atlanta. Thanks Covid19 ☹️
@John Smith My "bad info" is actually correct info. N275AY was retired in April 2020, and has not flown since.

My beautiful Phoenix 🌵💙
I love the view of the California coast so beautiful
It was well recorded! Great.
What was the turbulence like if at all, any? What were the restrictions once you got there? Thanks for the wonderful vid
There were no restrictions when I got there. This was filmed just prior to the pandemic really blowing up in the United States. As for turbulence. It really depends. I have flown to Hawaii many times now. Sometimes it is the smoothest flight you’ve ever been on. And sometimes it’s bumpy from start to finish. It really depends on the weather patterns over the Pacific. And I don’t know those well enough to tell you what really makes it bumpy and what makes it smooth. My experience has been that it tends to be more bumpy during the fall and winter months. And it tends to be more smoother in the spring and summer. But, the very first flight I ever took to Hawaii was on a Hawaiian 767 from Las Vegas to Honolulu. That was in March, and it was the bumpiest flight I have ever been on. We had light to moderate turbulence the entire seven hours. So, where my experience has been that spring and summer is typically better, there’s obviously outliers.
good landing
the 300 series was us airways first orders of a330s back in 2001, this plane was close to 20 years old, the 200s are their newer planes that are as old as 11 year old. The Original American Airlines Legacy pre merger Us Airways never had airbus with the exception of the old A300's. FYI if any ones interested.
Very smooth landing i love it
Nothing beats the Window seat when flying in to O’ ahu, Hawai’i. Lived there for 3 years and I loved it. Great video!
Ima nervous flier. i have to get pat it
@@donaldsawyer2618 Nothing to be nervous about flying.
@@christiansotelo55 Thanks. I actually flew twice this year. Making it a habit but still nervous.
@@donaldsawyer2618 I am too. I've been flying since I was a year old, and that was back in 1965. I've had my fair share of bad flights, but I've had many more good and even great flights, but I'm always nervous before takeoff and during turbulence. Still, it's so much safer these days than it was back when I was younger. When I heard the pilot speaking about the possibility of severe turbulence, I was so glad he did mention that. After American Airlines's huge mistake in December of 2014 when they flew over Japan air space after they were specifically told not to by the Japanese Weather Bureau, I vowed I'd never fly with them again. After hearing this video, I might reconsider that decision, but I'd have to pray about it.
@@donaldsawyer2618 It did take me a wile to get past the extreme jitters after a bad flight in 1971, but, like I mentioned earlier, I had some of the most amazing flights ever going to France and returning to the U.S. I also had a fantastic flight in 1982 coming home from New York City in November of that year. We had totally clear visibility for 20 miles, and it was completely bumpless!
is nobody else gonna talk about how the plane just rockets off the ground on that departure

It was a very normal departure.

It's hard to get a flight without children crying or screaming. Such is life. Thanks for watching my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Really nice take off, love it when it is turbulent and with those Cumulus clouds froming up!
Long taxi, Nice Flight, glad you got this "Last" flight on video.
You have no idea haha. The taxi was close to two hours. I cut A LOT out. The plane had a computer problem and we sat on the tarmac for 90 minutes without moving at one point.
1;14:46 - is that Point Concepcion in Santa Barbara - or the Baja coast?
I've flown on the A-330 just a handful of times, and in each case I was over the wing area. I might be the only person who has ever noticed this, but on taxi both before takeoff and after landing I hear this sound that seems to come from below. It's a kind of 'hiss-clunk' and repeats itself every few minutes. It has this sort of 'pneumatic' thing to it, as if the hissing is air escaping through a relief valve and the 'clunk' is this 'valve' closing. Very strange. Now..... I have heard reports of passengers hearing a barking sound but I never have.
So, I know what sound you're referring too, and I'm not actually sure what it is on the A330, but I'm sure it has something to do with the hydraulics. That's usually what the mechanical noises are associated with. As for the barking sound. That's very common on smaller Airbus aircraft. The A320 series to be exact. That is the PTU or power transfer uint that controls power to the various hydraulic systems. The A330 doesn't have that, so when people refer to the Airbus bark, they're likely referring to the A320 series. Thanks for watching!
I should mention too, that the sound you're talking about on the A330, might be related to the brakes. I seem to remember hearing it often right as brakes are applied or released. It could be some type of pneumatic brake.

Wow! That's a quick flight! Only 3 hours from Phoenix to Honolulu?! Takes around 6 hours from LAX To HNL. Concorde time!
This was from a long time ago when I posted full flight experiences that showed everything important to the flight. "Experience" was too long to put in the titles. Since then though, I do actually film the entire flight from start to finish.

Pretty sure I saw this plane take off from my office it faces the American maintenance hanger. Nice video
Very gorgeous 🤩
ok so i have a question. The other day when i was at Dallas Love for a flight there was a Hawaiian A321 Neo there. I was so confused why there was a Hawaiian Aircraft at Dallas Love Field. Do you know anything about this??
I do actually know about that. It was a sports charter carrying the University of Hawaii football team to play the University of Houston in Frisco, for a bowl game.
This was a good plane to fly on. I wish I could fly on this plane. The sound is very stunning & I keep watching this video over & over again, because of the sound of the airplane. Maybe AA might bring it back some day. They have retired lots of aircrafts during the pandemic as it caused them to lose lots of money & that took a big toll on the airline itself. & that’s the reason why they retired the A330s & other aircrafts, because they can’t afford fly them.
AA should stop making new planes & stick to flying the ones they already have because making new ones aren’t really gonna make a difference, (this goes for every other airline as well). They are the biggest airline in the world, but making new planes isn’t gonna make anyone travel. How many of the A330-323s did they have before they retired?
This was the only time I ever flew American's A330-300 before they were retired. In fact, it wasn't long after this flight when they were retired due to Covid. I've only ever flown on one other A330-300 and it was a Delta A330. All the other A330's I've flown have been the 200 variant.
@John Smith Um 🤔, yes they were. We’re talking about American Airlines A330’s, which were all retired when Covid hit.

It's funny. I stay up watching your videos of airplane flights, it somehow amazes and relaxes me but I have a severe anxiety of flying in real life. I cannot even begin to explain the fear I experience. My brain is messed up.

I just noticed right before the plane parked, you can see a rainbow on the top right corner!!
If one is looking to fly an A330 in the US,I believe Hawaiian still does between HNL and various mainland cities--wondering if the airspace between the west coast and HNL remains US airspace or does it become international airspace somewhere in between? If one wanted to make this run in today's climate, what a/c does AA use? What kind of inflight service did you receive? What was your itinerary between JLN and HNL?
Yes, Hawaiian and Delta are both still operating the A330. As for the airspace, I believe it's only US airspace for 12 nautical miles off any coast. It then becomes international airspace. So, for the majority of a flight to Hawaii, I believe you are in international airspace. As of right now, American isn't offering their PHX-Hawaii flights, but that was supposed to restart on July 7th. Right now, they are showing that flight being operated by an Airbus A321-200NX. Which is more than capable of the flight. Once things get back to normal, and demand goes back up, I'd imagine that will be changed to a 777-200 or even a 787. American has already started using the 787 for some Hawaii flights, so they've shown they aren't afraid to put the new metal on those routes. There was no special inflight service on this flight. It as the regular drink/snack service. American only serves meals on their Hawaii flights that leave from ORD and DFW. On this particular trip I flew out of Tulsa, so I flew TUL-LAS-PHX-HNL-LAX-MSP-TUL. The problem is that I often fly much more complicated routings so I can get footage. If were talking JLN and I simply wanted to get to HNL as quickly as possible, I'd just fly JLN-DFW-HNL.
Turbulence is crazy in this video was it ever a smooth flight or was it bumpy the whole time
Pretty much, yes. Flying to Hawaii in the winter months is often bumpy all the way across the pacific.
Super special!! Going to Honolulu!
I wish I could subscribe infintie times to your channel
Please explain to me, why if it takes like 5 hours flight time from LA to HNL this only takes only 3 hours ?
Full flight, in my videos, refers to the full experience of the flight being presented in one video. I.e., preflight, taxi, takeoff, cruise, landing, etc. Not just a takeoff or landing. These are not “uncut” or “unedited.” Nowhere in the title, description, or comments do I ever claim these flights are uncut flights.
@@sla31 Got it. Thanks!

I thought he said “ladies and gentleman, another flight jack.”
Hey SKylite I found N275AY in Flight aware but too bad it landed at Rosswell a year ago. :(
Yeah. Sadly the A330’s, both the 200s and 300s were victims of the initial Covid downturn in travel. American retired them, their 757s and ERJ-190s very soon after it all started.

Hey bro, so for instance on a long flight like this one, did you just stay overnight and came back the next day?
Your videos encouraged me to start enjoying life and take random flights anywhere to see the world. Thank you.
Yes. Of course you have to remember that I'm doing this to film content. So, flying in the dark doesn't really produce the best content haha. It's often times beneficial for me to pause overnight so I can get a fresh day. I.e., a full days worth of sunlight haha. Plus, you'd be lucky to find any flight that gets to Hawaii from the mainland before noon, so if you want any time to explore you'd need at least one overnight. Not much you can do between 12:00 and 5:30 when the sun sets.
@@sla31 are you still flying after this second wave of COVID-19? It seems that flights are cheap right now! Lax to Hawaii is not over $300 round trip!
Some gorgeous cloud formations over Honolulu and great scenery overall on this flight. Loved it. And I didn't know that American was retiring their A330 fleet. RIP. Also...just curious. Do you bring your own food/snacks with you on these longer flights?
Typically, on these longer flights that I know there isn’t going to be meal service, I try to eat right before I get on the plane. Since I hold the camera by hand, it makes it difficult to eat while filming.
@@sla31 Oh, you don't put your camera on some kind of support? I just assumed that you did...especially for these longer flights.
turbofanlover Nope, I hold the camera by hand. Even on long flights. I have yet to find a mount that does not transfer vibrations from the engines through the fuselage, which the mount is attached to, into the camera. Being a perfectionist that’s no good for me. It gives the footage a rippling effect. Like when you throw a rock into a pond. That’s one of the reasons why my footage is so smooth. I basically use my arm and all of the fat and muscle to absorb all of the bumps and vibrations.
@@sla31 I mean, your vids continue to be of very high quality...so whatever you're doing is clearly working very well...and it's appreciated. :)
A330-200 hasn't been retired yet in AA's fleet.
Airbus and Boeing have different ideas about wing design. I think Boeing uses a much higher wing loading, so that the airplane is more stable in rough winds. If you compare crosswind landings of two comparable jets, say a 777 and an A330, you will see that the Boeing is much more stable on approach. The Airbus will be seen pitching up and down and it will have a tendency to float on landing.
Just curious but, how long is it from NH to Hawaii?
It's about 11 hours from anywhere around the northeast to Honolulu.
