Beautiful. Beautiful. I still get that raised heartbeat when I watch these takeoffs. Makes up for me not being on one right now. Hell fire. I’d just be happy to SIT on a plane right now. Let alone fly somewhere !!!!
Having not been able to fly much this past year (living in Australia), your videos have absolutely helped me remember what I love about flying. They have been a God send. Your videos give a real escape!
And you'd be correct. This was indeed DFW's westernmost runway. And it's actually pretty rare to land on it in this direction. Thanks for watching my friend.
That is one smooth flight.... relaxing and quiet..... but at LAX, there were 3 black giant SUVs.....guess someone important was around there, LoL !! ✈️
It took me a few to realize that this came over the other side of Grapevine on a runway not usually used by AA. Must have been a special circumstance, but in any case that's cool!
Omggg if you were seated on the other side of the plane i could have seen my house, i live so close to the airport and its fun watching the planes come in on 13R
#sla31 This means so much to me, I watched you everyday as a kid and now I'm an actual pilot with 55 hours of experience and without you I wouldn't be where I'm at currently, your videos of just the wingview and view of the aircraft at boarding helped me severally understand how an airplane works at a young age, and getting ready for a pilots license, I really hope once I'm in the airline industry that you're still flying! Thank you so much
Thank you so much for your beautiful video every time! I was wondering why Japanese announcement was done before landing??? Were there many Japanese passengers?
At DFW you're usually give the first runway available from the direction you're coming in from. So you don't have to cross over the airfield and other traffic. That said, they were also having some strong crosswind that day. And only 2 of DFW's 7 runways are crosswind runways. They're also the farthest form the terminals haha. So we typically wouldn't have had to taxi as long as we did, but with the crosswind... It honestly doesn't happen very often.
@@sla31 Thanks for the info! I’ve landed on that runway once out of all my trips through DFW. I think it gives you a picture of just how large the airport is. What do you think about the new foreign carriers at DFW? Iberia, Air France, Finnair, Turkish is a pretty nice lineup. It will be interesting to see what other airlines come. I certainly wish KLM would come back. It looks like Air France is doing well since they went from seasonal to year round.
I've done cross country flights like those from Dallas to Cali & back. In helicopters. Its a two day trip each way. Like the vid shows, you get to see how the topography changes from the Sierra Nevada & Mojave deserts, the scrub brush plains of western Texas, and finally the great plains of North Central Texas.
Seems like younger folks are amazed that certain types of aircraft are used on domestic routes. That's nothing new. DC-10s, L1011s, & early versions of the 747 were all used on premium domestic routes from about 1970 onward.
It wasn't until I first boarded a 787 that I found out why it's called the Dreamliner. Also... have you ever noticed that larger planes, especially wide-bodies typically have more sweptback wings and pointier noses than smaller planes?
Because DFW is a huge airport, and it's facilities are spread out. The same when you fly into DEN. The cutest and really beautiful airport I flew in was ABQ Int'l I loved the Adobe style terminals. Very unique.
I fly mostly for this channel now. It’s rare anymore that I fly for any other reason. And for context, I don’t work for any of the airlines, so I don’t fly for free. I have a full time job, that doesn’t require travel, and I fly on my days off to get footage for the channel.
Glad to see you splurged on a premium cabin seat unless you cashed in some miles for this journey. That wing walker at LAX had a LONG walk during pushback, must feel weird to be on the pavement surrounded by those massive birds moving about! Always enjoy looking at takeoffs over the Pacific coast, can only imagine the cost of living along the beachfront.Wondering if AA cabin crews are required to use the prerecorded safety announcements as well as the initial arrival announcement. For what full-fare passengers pay for FC, I would be upset if all I got was that plastic bag with snacks and bottled water just as those in steerage class get! Flying from PT>CT,you lose 2hrs so its not surprising it was sunset at arrival--connecting at DFW for TUL or XNA?
In this case here the cabin seat in question would be the Flagship First. And I would assume that the cost of living along the beachfront is pretty expensive.
No. I have overnighted in Los Angeles several times recently, and no one is checking the forms, no one is asking any questions, and no one is following that rule.
I believe those are the vehicles American uses to transport their high-value clients. I.e., concierge key members, celebrities, etc. So they don’t have to use the terminal. I believe it has a specific name, like the program that it’s called, but I don’t remember it off the top of my head.
No, I film with iPhones since they have much better cameras than GoPros. The downside is that iPhones aren't action cameras, so where you gain in picture quality, you lose in stability. If you use a suction cup it basically rattles the lens so much that it distorts the footage. So, I hold the camera by hand to keep it isolated way from the vibrations.
Well, I hold the camera by hand, and sadly they're not for sale. I do travel with a mount like this: www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-166-UN10U but I rarely use it to film when flying.
@@get2dachoppa249 Later in the vid one of the pilots announces leveling off at their cruise altitude of FL310. But a 787 from LAX to DFW even with full passengers and cargo would have a light fuel load and be well below max gross. I would think FL370 or 390 or even 410 would be what they chose. It was a wintertime flight so maybe the winds overcame the lower burn at the higher altitude. The jet stream would be closer to 300 than 400 at these latitudes.
I hold the camera on pretty much every flight. I do have a mount that I can use to help extend my reach, when I have a seat like this one; where extending my arm would be very uncomfortable. But ultimately, I’m still holding the mount by hand. I don’t stick it to the window. Here is the mount I travel with: www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-166-UN10U
18:40 That van has more acceleration than the 300-ton piece of metal being operated by two mega engines that each expel 71K lbs of thrust 😂😂😂😂...nice video SP!
Do you bring something to spray the window down and wipe it clean? I'm asking cause I typically leave a grease smudge from where my face rests against it.
No, but what I do bring is a microfiber cloth to clean the window off with. I keep it in a, separate form everything else I'm traveling with, compartment in my backpack.
I've noticed that you always like flying within the US with American, United, Delta, Southwest, or JetBlue. Also, please do note that sanitary wipes were used on aircraft even before the Covid pandemic hit due to the fact that there are like millions of bacteria and viruses that may have included traces of coronaviruses onboard any aircraft

Beautiful departure out of LAX! Always amazing to see how big LA is !
The L.A. downtown area isn't as big as it seems. The greater area with all it's suburbs make is great. 8.5 mio.
Seeing the wings flex on takeoff is amazing

That's a big plane, and that pilot made it look easy peasy lemon squeezy !! Take off over the beach in LA is just grand.
Nice clear day leaving LA. I recognized the port of San Pedro where I caught a cruise ten years ago.

quite the brisk taxi.
Perfect timing for me to relax and watch this after work, love your full flight videos so muchhh!!! Much love from NY 💕
At 41:00 you can see how it goes from a wet (winter only) climate straight to desert climate.
The comparison of the motors and the suvs. It baffles my mind how big these motors are
The wing flex during flight is amazing then at the 2:11:05 mark landing the wing goes back to normal. Crazy how they bend but dont break.
Its not that crazy
I want to say this is DFW's westernmost runway you landed on. The Airport is HUGE.
