Thanks, that was exactly my idea. This is the open version of the top, really practical for having access to the electronics. Final version will be a closed version. It also has a purpose by the way, I again built in a Pixy cam.
I am actually not sure if I am skilled enough. Would be my first robot. I looked around the net for kits. But actually your robots are way more beautiful than anything else I came across. So maybe I give it a try. How much do you think this robot would cost in total? Just a rough figure? Please send me the code and the stl. I'll send you an email so you got my email address. Many thanks for the support!
Erik Lely I just bought 10 servos to build a simpler one on thingiverse but your build is amazing I would be honored to build one and rep your build skills
sooo... what servos for this scale project do you like that i can afford?? ;) watching builds with eg. mg90s used for rc hobbies, there seems to be a lot of variance.. some are shaky but others are relatively smooth.
Agree on the variability and de Dynamixel ax18's I used in this quad are expensive. Even the cheapest dynamixels ax12's are quite expensive. I am on the verge of thrying some chinese dynamixel like servo's. Keep you posted.
What do you mean with plan anywhere? If it is with regard to this robot, I am incorporating gyro and pixy cam right now and the walking still needs some tweaking because the servo's are really fast.
I'm looking to build something similar to this for my final High school Year Project for my electronics class. But im stumped on what parts are best and what code to use with these to get it working by October. ive done research other builds of hexapods but others use cheap parts and dodgy code and wont share, i hear only bad things. Any tips ?
Highly impressive and really inspiring! Love your work, please keep sharing :-)
Thanks! Will do.
impressive work sir, please keep sharing.
Nice work. Love the top part that add some personality.

I welly love the robots your robot is imazing one
You should start selling them.they look amazing
TX!
you work is amazing!!, but if you want gif the stl or the progeam mayba can think in thingiverse??????????????
great. perf
TX
Can you release some build plans and maybe a build video
I haven't completely finished this one. Current STL's and code are available.
This is so awesome. The movements are so lifelike. Do you sell kits or something like that? I would love to build me a clone.
I do have the code and stl, so if you wan to clone....

Hi! We're assigned to do a quadruped and looking for cheap material to use on its body and linkages. Hope you can help us out! Pls. Thanks!
Did I answer you already? Otherwise ask me via eriklely@gmail.com

cheers, i'm a dsp guy new to h/w. so far i've tagged mg996r and 425bb from recommendations (at about $6 and $13). thanks for sharing your vids!
It looks very fluid. Do you have plans anywhere ?
What do you mean with plan anywhere? If it is with regard to this robot, I am incorporating gyro and pixy cam right now and the walking still needs some tweaking because the servo's are really fast.
No .. what i meant was the build plans ... Is it 3d parts ? dynamixel servos ?
Yes, no problem. I prefer to share them via email, if you give me yours. Code is not completely finished at the moment.
Yes, designed and printed the parts myself. And yes, dynamixel AX18's

How does one even begin to program them?

If you give me your email I wil help you out, I've got and parts for several hexapods/quadrupeds
My emails Dandoishmael@gmail.com thank you!
Do you think this could be done with cardboard?

Hi, nice cute bot. is this frame compatible with SG90 servos?
I am afraid not, unless you are able to rework my 3d design. It is compatible with dynamixel ax12 or ax18.
thank you for your reply.
Very cool, are files, parts list and code available?
Yes, no problem. I prefer to share them via email, if you give me yours. Code is not completely finished at the moment.
can you email them to jcritt365@gmail.com, thanks so much
how fast can this thing go?
Hi Erik, where can I contact you?
eriklely@gmail.com
are parts 3d printed? and what do you use for power
All parts are indeed 3d printed. I use a 11.1 v lipo which is located on the bottom of the body.
Is there a way to build this without a 3d printer?
That's going to be difficult as all the parts are custom designed and printed.
I would like to discuss some things about your robot please contact me
mail me @ eriklely@gmail.com
