I think the most eeriest part of Dragonspyre is that it is a completely dead world for the most part. No one has tried to take over after the Dragon titan was summoned and basically everyone died. And many people of the spiral know of it (you even sail past it in Pirate101 because it's on a skyway) and yet people steer clear of it. It's so unique in that aspect, you could compare it to Azteca, Mirage or Lemuria, but those aren't 'lost' worlds they are simply very hard to access through normal means and therefore extremely isolated. Dragonspyre simply sits as a permanent reminder of the dangers of meddling with cosmic entities of the spiral for all creatures of the spiral
I was thinking about this the other day, if the devs ever want to revisit dragonspyre, they could have someone in dragonspyre give us a quest to grab a knowledge crystal for some reason and then have that kick off an entire side world type event. Where we get to go to old dragonspyre like in the time crystal dungeon, but we get to explore all of dragonspyre all over again, with updated grapics and stuff. Or explore other areas that were inaccessable. And maybe get to check out another lore plot point from the original world history books. Kinda like how they introduced the catacombs.
Well, Celestia is kind of that way, too. The only difference is that new inhabitants took over the land, but it's really tragic what happened to the old Celestians who all died once the Storm Titan flooded everything.
Dragonspyre is mostly original in terms of designs and graphics, but lore wise it’s heavily inspired off of Sparta and the Roman Empire Plus a lot of what kingsisle says is canon to drakes in the lore of the spiral is completely thrown out of the window by the Villains of the Spiral pack, which allows you to ride your drake hatchling from Dragonspyre as a permanent Mount too
Woo, love learning history about the Spiral worlds, even typed up histories for each world. Some parts are missing here and there, some might even be contradicted by other information. Let me tell you, trying to tie the history of Mooshu we learn in Wiz and the history we learn in Pirate was something else 😅
So in other words the dragonspyre council was arrogant thinking that being protected from the outside would work. Until a group of wizards awoken the dragon titan and as a result dragonspyre is a haunted wasteland filled with undead warriors and wizards meanwhile the draconians and are scattered around dragonspyre doing whatever.
Basically. The undead dragonspyrians becoming ghosts was a byproduct of malistaire's use of the krokonomicon to summon the dragon titan, aside from any knowledge crystal beings we encounter. Up until then, erbody was just dead after the dragon titan's assault. I assume their souls go back to resting after the main story, but I'm not entirely sure because any time there's a side quest or spell quest that has us go to dragonspyre, we end up talking to the undead dragonspyrians again. So I guess cannonically we stopped malistaire mid summoning and dragonspyre gets to be in a perpetual state of hauntedness?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy them. I about went crazy trying to accept the fact that ki never wrote in a reason why the dragon cult actually summoned the dragon titan. I personally like to believe the dean wanted to be like walter white but didn't get super far.
An undoubtedly one of a kind video. You did an exceptional work at encapsulating and elaborating on what I consider is one of the most unique and fascinating lores of the game. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video. I also want to ask you which world do you think has the best lore in the game
Hey, thanks a bunch for the kind words. I had allot of fun making these lore videos so far. Tbh I'd probably say Dragonspyre is my favorite lore world, and behind that would be Krokotopai and Wiz city coming in a close second and third. I found myself feeling like there was so much to cover yet not enough details to explain everything. Like, when I found out there wasn't a single lore reason as to why the dean summoned the dragon titan, I just about lost it haha
Do you know if there is any dialog that talks about that death tree in dragonspyre academy? At some point I'm going to make a video that talks about them but I haven't been able to find out what's up with that death tree. Everyone in the dragonspyre lore talks about the dragon titan sparing Ashley the fire tree, and how she's the only school tree left, but then that death tree is also still around and not mentioned. I feel like KI might have had plans for it but they got scrapped at some point.
@@GodlySeafood Oh nah. No dialogue. I’m using solely context clues and headcanon. Checked out the wikipedia though. His name is assumingely, Corpus. He survived the original Dragon Titan’s attack along with Ashley. All KI did was update his model and had him make faces and random noises.
@@TechnicSky All good, there seems to be allot of lore that is either left out and just posted on a wiki page for no reason. Like I just found out that on the wizard101 wiki fandom, Sylvia Drake is listed as a druid, but this is never mentioned in game, and there's a Dr. Who quest that shows sylvia becoming the grand general of the dragonspyre army that I don't think would ever happen unless she was a dragonspyrian. There's no way the world of dragonspyre would ever let a non dragonspyrian be the head of their army, especially a druid given the catacombs lore It's weird. I love the wiz101 lore, but if it's not in game then I don't really know how to consider it. Like if it gets put on a wiki you would think it would be super valid, but then when you look into it, it never shows up in game and there's allot of lore that would suggest that it shouldn't be the case lol
@@GodlySeafood I getcha, I also love the Wiz101 World and the entirety of the Spiral. But I could definitely tell some things were amiss as I played. Like in Celestia- I posted this on my channel- but Axenos or whoever he is, is essentially listed as some being that could harm the entirety of the Spiral. But us, the players, just clap him in a room where no one takes witness, and his presence isn’t really questioned nor brought up more because he’s a sidequest.
That explains why they sell spider pet in pet store in dragonspyre, Rogar was pioneer at the time for the city before said downfall lmao It was mention by the fire tree, that ones that summon fire titan are part of loyalty, ironically they be ones to doom Dragonspyre and not poor.
I think it’s implied that Darkflame’s motivation for summoning the dragon Titan would be just to gain power, based on the reason that Malistaire attempts to awaken the dragon titan, the Titan would basically have the power to do anything if one was able to control it and harness it’s powers. I assume that Darkflame also wanted this power for himself, and planned to use its power to assume total control of Dragonspyre, but it did not go according to plan, as being blinded by the same beliefs as Malistaire, he did not realize the absurdity of trying to control a Titan.
Yea, it's super implied what his goals might have been given all of the wizards VS warriros political lore and stuff. I just think it would have added more to him as a character and the store if there was diolague stating what he hoped to accomplish by summoning the dragon titan and what he would have gotten out of it. Rather than just leaving it ambiguous, ya know? It would just make the story a bit more concrete.
Mainly the og wizard city and a few minor plot points here and there in some of the worlds as far as i can tell. The OG wiz story of triton avenue use to have Suzie Griffin bane be pretty indipendent, which was pretty woke for KI back in the day. However, if you play through the story now, she ends up being a damsel in distress that needs to be saved. Just minor changes like that, most of the OG story is intact as far as I know. In og krok, i'm pretty sure they changed the first quest dialog. The mander we talk to use to say something like, "Welcom afhende". The story is still pretty comprehensable though.
Essentilly yea. Aside from revamping the entire wizard city story line, there's not much change. There might be a small change here or there, but everything is basically the same. On cyclops lane, the story changed from General Akhilies being honor bound to kidnap students after loosing a battle to Malistaire, changed to General Akhilies being controlled by an evil undead rabbit from the dark cave/nightside for some reason. For the most part, the story as a whole stays pretty much the same, but the details are different in the wizard city story. Some minor things in other worlds get cut out, but its barely noticable. It'll be like a random dialog that use to be in the game, isn't there any more or something. @@marcusblackwell2372
