I’ve gotten the chance to talk with some of the story developers in ≈ 2021-2022 and unfortunately they said that at the moment they don’t have any plans to bring back Morganthe but they are completely open to the idea because they hear that that is a big request
It’s interesting how Morganthe believed herself to be the Shadow Queen, but misinterpreted the prophecy to be about her, when it was actually about Grandfather Spider (Old Cob)
I feel that one of the reasons we were allowed to walk so freely in Khrysalis without Morganthe basically obliterating us or getting directly alerted by her "barrier", is because in her final dialogue in the dungeon she says "I forget myself a queen should not act so basely, such a threat is beneath me especially now on the eve of my victory". She knew her actions against us were weak, but is such an egocentric narcissist that she thought that she eventually would be able to pop us off 1v1 once she learned the song of creation as we traversed the world. What she didn't realize was our fast-paced agility to resolve problems and creep into her kingdom + she had no idea Old Cob was even a thing let alone know how to destroy her entirely, nor did she care tbh, without Old Cob we would've failed.

I should have looked into the dialog for more of the lore but it was so forgettable that I didn't even remember it being a thing. Not saying that it's not worth knowing, just that it's easily missable. I'm going to have to update the video and add that at some point.
@@arturwillow9108 After looking it up, it turns out that morganthe expended a ton of magical energy with the whole xibalba fiasco, and to keep the power from crushing her, she created the shadow tree Moros as a type of arcane brase. Moros is basically Morganthes version of Bartleby kind of in a way that Bartleby helped grand mammy raven create the spiral. Not a bad theory tho, If nothing else I could see your explanation totally being a lore plot point instead.
i think part of the reason morganthe's barrier doesn't detect us in khrysalis but it can detect the council of light is because we have both light and shadow within us while the council of light are all-good entities. when it's just us, it's easier to confuse our level of light and shadow with any of the tribes living in khrysalis already
Makes sense. We become both light and shadow when we go to face off with the storm Titan . Kind of foreshadowing the Wizard becoming the divine paradox.
I think the writers originally wanted Malistaire to stay dead, but devs wanted to amp up the story in an unnecessary way that brought back Malistaire from the dead. The writers were not too happy with this so as far as we know no other villains are ever coming back from the dead.
In my opinion it's just like Malistire getting yeeted into space by a big rock, So i want Morganthe to come back as a dungeon and we get a harder and true final battle
Morganthe is easily the darkest main antagonist of the game. No redeeming qualities, her minions are incredibly vicious, some of which eat humans, and for the first time, the bad guys are saying “KILL!/DIE!”, which was a game changer for me, because I thought the game was going to go with “defeat” throughout the worlds. Then again, the “Never Say Die” trope is a discredited trope now.
100%, arc 3+ is all morality stuff while arc 1 just was sadness and depression and desperation, while arc 2 just wanted the spiral to themselves and will do absolutely anything to get it
Khrysalis’ badges even mention that the Wizard has to resort to killing the minions and insects, not just merely defeating them. That one word change in the badges makes the entire world of Khrysalis much more darker and implies the minions are willing to kill the Wizard even if it means fighting to the death. The fact it’s been nearly 8 years and the badge descriptions have not been changed to ‘defeat’ makes many people think the word ‘kill’ is intentional.

Thanks, I feel like the main story should consist of more deep lore and encounters with the main bosses rather than some lazy country bumkin in the middle of nowhere requiring us to fight a bandit for the millionth time before we can progress. I know less about allot of the interesting characters in wiz than I know about little timmy who fell down a well and has more lines in the story line than the end boss of an entire arc.

However once I get to darkmoor I plan to do one on malistaire. I may do someone else before him just in case tho, I quest slow and farm allot haha

From what the lore implies, morganthe was originally from avalon. Her and Mallory grew up in dundara village. However she did decide to make a stronghold in Zafaria at one point. I guess her old stronghold is the palace in mirror lake or something. The lore doesn't specify on when that was though.
