Definitely will keep this in the back pocket for the next time I trek down from Oregon. Will have to hit Griffith for sure at sunset next time around! Stellar content as always!
Just driving up Beachwood Canyon you can get a lot of nice views. But it probably is frowned upon because there's not much parking and the street often gets crowded with tourists stopping to take photos. But still it's an easy nice view. Also I've been told that if you just go to the top of the Home Depot parking garage, the one on Sunset, you can get a good view.
Seeing the Hollywood sign in the Hollywood hills brings me all kinds of feelings and emotions. I lived in California for many, many years. When I was a teenager, three friends and I went to the Hollywood hills after going to the Garrett coffee House and listening to folk music and drinking coffee and one of the friends suggested we go up to the top of the Hollywood hills near the sign and have a great view and conversation. For some reason I was elected driver and the car belonged to a friend of a friend who was with us and we went up there. So we chit-chatted and we looked at the view which was lovely and then it was time to go home. As we were going down the hill all of a sudden the Earth broke away from under the front tires. We went down that mountain and I was throwing out of the car and one of my friends had gotten out prior to it crashing. That left my two other best friends in the car and I couldn't pull them out because I was too injured. My right hand just hung there as I had a broken wrist ... I found out later. My left hand had torn ligaments in my thumb and I wasn't able to hold on to anything. I had a lot of other injuries but I'm not going to go into it. I yelled at my friend that was up the hill and I said we need to get help. I was in shock, of course, I didn't physically feel anything at that time. Next thing I know the car blew up. A couple that had seen the fire call the fire department and they came and pulled us up in baskets. So when I saw this particular video at least the introduction to it on UA-cam it triggered a lot of feelings. It's truly beautiful on a clear day, no doubt. I just want to say should you venture anywhere where there are hills and mountains be very cautious. We were not speeding. There were not in any lights. In fact many months after, I went back there with an insurance adjuster and the area of the road where we went over had been paved.
Wow, Josh, I had no idea there were so many places to see the Hollywood sign. I've only been to a couple of them. Look forward to checking out the others. Thanks for the heads up!
Been following this channel for a long time and love every video. Very informative and professional. Also, i am moving from Ohio to Culver City, California in June. Any local spots in that area I should know about? Keep up the awesome work Josh!
Great video! I live in Nor Cal but visit at least once a year. We went to Griffith Observatory in June 2017, during the week and didn't realize how crowded it was going to be. Our next trip is this November. Is it always crowded or is there a better time to visit?
Just wondering because I am trying to make a video about LA. Did you acquire a license to post this video? I know the Hollywood sign is trademarked and you must get a license to use it commercially. If you did get one, how much did it cost you? If not, were there any issues with copyright claims on this video? Thank you for any help!
Miss LA!!! Went a few years ago and strangely had an immediate connection. Wish I could live in Cali.
I’ve been to the Hollywood Bowl so many times, and I’ve never noticed the Hollywood sign 🤣🤣🤣 I can’t believe it lol
Great video, of course 👍🏼
One of the best landmark in United States the Hollywood sign! Watching from Philippines!

Great video buddy! I am going to Hollywood soon, I will keep this in mind when shooting there!
Great video!! One day i going to know this place.
We just hiked the brush canyon trail on Thursday. Great video as always.
Thanks for wonderful video. Very valuable. Will find them for next visiting.
Beachwood Drive northbound from Franklin is the easiest way to see the sign from relatively close, without going in the hills or shlepping up a hill.
I agree!
Great vid bro! I’m looking to go mountain biking to the Hollywood sign. Thank you for the recommendations. This really helps. 🤙🏻

Great information!
We are hoping to park at the Griffin Observatory and hike to the back of the sign, then down to the Sunset Ranch...is this realistic? 4 miles ish?
