Every city usually has a beautiful downtown (city center) but the rest is not so good.
I Never understood why Los Angeles has such a small skyline with though cause it the 2nd most populated city in the US with 4 million!
Its the opposite in Los Angeles there are surrounding cities in LA county that are more beautiful. Downtown LA is really not great it just looks nice from up above
I’d say because of the strict construction regulations regarding materials, height, location, etc. The fact that LA is a very big city, its area has a lot of space to grow, so it is not necessary to build many skyscrapers. Last thing, but I don’t think it is too relevant, is the risk of earthquakes that could destroy buildings.
Upminster, Hornchurch and Twickenham look amazing and they are on the far outskirts of London!
