Oh, the memories! In 1979, in high school, I worked in a Sizzler Family Steakhouse. I wore a uniform similar to what we see in these commercials. I learned a lot about my palate at Sizzler. French onion soup. Steak medium rare instead of incinerated. Crab legs, dear lord. All things I'd never tried before, but discovered that I love them. I was on the "cold side", so I prepared and stocked the salad bar, and made whipped cream for the desserts. Thank you for the walk down memory lane!
@@jbinthehills Yes us too! After Bonanza closed, it did become the Ponderosa and that was open for about 4 years and now it is a Lamp store. Yes it was about 35 years ago. I didn't realize there were so few left I guess we are really lucky. I was actually looking for their menu online tonight to order food from there which is how I accidently found this video lol.
I love your honest comments about simple good food. Not complex and busy. I think it was so thoughtful of both of you to give a lovely shout out to the staff.
This video hit my heart . I used to go to bonanza for all you can eat shrimp at 11 with my grandparents. Bonanza was my first job and became a GM at Ponderosa at 18. Thank u for this video. The issues were Metromeia bought them and closed them down. They bought Bonanza, Ponderosa and Steak and Ale. Bonanza had the best steaks, came from Rymer in Chicago. Thanks u two. Love the channel and the Smokies
I remember Bonanza and Ponderosa. I loved the salad bar and the prices were so reasonable. Thanks again for another great video that reminds me of my childhood. Have a great weekend.
WOW! Looks clean. Food looks delicious at a great price! I think buffets are not popular because of this generation. They enjoy chicken nuggets, Panera bread, Chipotle etc ... I grew up eating Piccadilly cafeteria, Lubys and S & S cafeteria. Missing them now! Also loved Old Country Buffet ... They had the best meatloaf! Delicious! Thank you for the video
This restaurant is my childhood. In my hometown of about 3,000 people in southern Missouri, we had a bunch of fast-food restaurants and one Bonanza. This was THE gourmet restaurant when I was a kid. I still fantasize about their buffet to this day, them and Ponderosa.
Bonanza in Memphis used to have a giant hunk of yellow cheese with a slicer so you could cut your own slice of American!!! Thank you for showing the food ❤
Love the old Bonanza commercials! $2.79 won't even buy you a soft drink these days! Lol! 🤣I loved how the salad bar was free with every dinner. I always loved that restaurant! It was very similar to Ponderosa. Sadly, there aren't either one of those restaurants around here anymore. I miss them! Thanks for the video John & Bobbie!
What a great bit of trivia about Dan Blocker. I also remember a Sizzler Steakhouse that was a chain like Bonanza and Ponderosa. I always liked the seasonings they put on their steaks. Too bad most of these places are gone.
This takes me back to a time when foods not only look good but tastes well season. I thought that none of these restaurants are still around anymore 😕. Wow
I love the "good old days", watched "Bonanza" so often during my childhood in Germany and visited the Original Ranch in CAL. The menue of the restaurant looks great, especially the prices, and I get hungry. Thank you, guys, a good recommendation 👍.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I haven't been to one since the 80's and Ponderosa in the 90's....and don't forget a similar place called Western Sizzlin'! If you try to resurrect Bonanza's, then see about bringing back Howard Johnson's Restaurants...
I live in Arkansas. I remember eating at Bonanza as a kid then they started to close locations when I was in college (mid 90s). I would always get the chicken fried steak & I’d give my dad (who is now deceased) my Texas toast. The salad bar always had that big block of yellow cheese in the middle & it was lighter where ppl would cut it off than the rest of the huge block which freaked me out. Now I get that it’s science 😂
Hey John and Bobby I hope your Saturday will be a good one remember Bonanza very well has been probably 35 years since I ate there I'm like you John they used to be everywhere they always had great food great value and why they don't make her come back I don't know glad that y'all enjoyed it a flashback in time till next video take care
I’m having serious flashbacks. As a kid in Minnesota, my family and I used to go to church on Saturday nights, and then go to Bonanza for supper. Thanks for the great memory!
I remember my parents used to take us there because I was a picky eater. I loved their country fried steak. I miss that. Thanks for letting us know there’s one in Chambersburg. I live in Ohio but have relatives in Hanover & we pass through there on the way. Keep up the great content.
What a bast from the past ! I remember going to Bonanza and also Ponderosa all the time with my grandparents. I also would go out after work with my coworkers on a Friday night there. I’m really surprised the restaurant survived the pandemic with a lot of restaurants closing. I can’t believe the prices are still low with all the inflation going on. The quality of the food, service, and cleanliness seems to be top par at your visit there. I agree with you this may be a good time for them to expand. People are looking for a great place to take there families out to eat that are reasonably priced. I would just go there for the nostalgia. Thanks for stopping by all these great places on your trip in Pennsylvania.❤
What a blast from the past. Steaks today in the grocery store cost upwards of $30.00 and I miss the days when you could get such a great deal on steaks and other food. So many of our great restaurants are disappearing. I used to love going to Ruby Tuesdays in our area and now they are all closed and gone due to the Pandemic. They had the best salad bar in my location. Country Buffet was another great and reasonable place to eat and that is gone also as is Ground Round. Thank you for bringing back those good times and memories, John and Bobbie. I wish they would bring Bonanza back and put one where I live but sadly those are bygone days. I just love your channel. Don't forget to get a PO Box before Christmas because I want to send you some gifts, I have on my heart to send you two. Blessings to both of you.
I loved the Ponderosa, I've never heard of Bonanza but it seems they are owned by the same company. I also loved a place called Sizzler Steakhouse. I wish they could make a comeback and open more restaurants. Thanks for making this video.
Love the history about Dan Blocker, love how y'all do the history about places, love a steak, thanks for showing us God Bless, and love Rodney Dangerfield he cracks me up
Boy, this is a blast from the past. I loved Bonanza and Ponderosa! I just to go there with family as a kid on weekends. You would meet a lot a people you knew eating there. The rolls were so good! They shutdown years ago in our area. We miss it and they should open more places! People need a reasonable place to eat that has a good substantial meal served! Thank you for the video it brought back wonderful memories!!
Hey guys. We recently took a Gettysburg trip and decided to eat here thanks to your review since it’s not far..we are big fans. It was amazing! Everything you say is true. I have my whole family subscribed and watching your Chan!
I loved this trip back in time, the original commercials, shame that more of these places don't exist anymore, salad bar looked great, lots of choices and such reasonable price, glad you found one and brought us a taste of nostalgia
In 2008 the company filed for bankruptcy and in 2009, emerged from bankruptcy with a new name, Homestyle Dining LLC. Some of the last Bonanza Steakhouses are located in hidden corners of the Midwest and East Coast, including locations in Presque Isle, Maine, New Columbia, Pennsylvania, Lebanon, Virginia God bless peace be with you much love and respect TCB⚡⚡💗
I’m 41 but I remember going there as a kid. My parents lived at the salad bar😄One of the locations is a Mexican restaurant now. They even kept the exterior. So many memories Watching this video, it looks way different now than it was in the 80s/90s when I went. It was strictly a salad bar, while the hot foods you order in the front.
What this reminds me of is why we loved Bonanza. Sure, the food was not gourmet, but it was affordable, abundant and like home cooked fare, so a family could come in, have veriety and eat well, working men , men on the road, could have a hearty feed and enjoy it for a great price. Im in Calgary and I think ours closed about 1990. Food looks fantastic for the average Joe like me who often would like a regular meal, like meatloaf and mashed and veggies without needing to buckle down and make it. Thanks for the video- fantastic
Brings back fond memories. We used to go on Friday night for all you can eat shrimp. Also enjoyed going there for steaks & the delicious garlic cheese toast. Only 8 left? Like you I can't imagine why there aren't more left. Thanks for the memory.
Yes in the USA. There are some in other countries for some reason and Ponderosa doesn't have many restaurants left either. We will try and find one of them. 😎😎
The Bonanza that was in my town years ago ( my girls first jobs working there) was personally owned. I do miss it. It was always busy. The one thing I did not see on the buffet was rice pudding. Bonanza made it from scratch and I may have the recipe for it. Enjoy your weekend 😊
Great review, great prices. We had a Ponderosa restaurant in our town. Love the retro commercials. Miss Rodney Dangerfield. Wish they would bring the restaurant back. Thanks you two for the video.
I loved Bonanza both the resturant and the tv show. Hoss was my favorite character on the show. My Dad was so sad when Dan Blocker passed away. It was so cute how you put their old ads in your video. Brings back good memories.
@@jbinthehills hey my son ordered me 2 cds of the show Bonanza which one is Christmas and u can hear each member singing...i love them...u should check into it...cds not dvds...good memories
This brings back so many memories! I stumbled across your channel when I was researching if the Bonanza I went to the most as a child, was still in the town my daughter will be attending college this Fall. Unfortunately, it has closed. My dad would literally go a couple hours out of the way when we traveled, just to hit up that particular location bc it was always the best. They were all good, but that one had a bigger buffet, and bc they stayed so busy, the food was always super fresh! I haven't seen a bonanza in years, so I wasn't even sure Bonanza still existed at all.
This has to be one of my favorite reviews. Who knew Bonanza was still around? All my friends worked there in high school. One of my husband's favorite restaurants when we started dating 30 yrs ago! Thanks!
we loved this place growing up in iowa! always got the buffet. ames and marshalltown. that was our monthly vacation. travel to the big city, shop at the mall, kmart, walmart, target, sears and eat buffet at bonanza
Hey guys, nicely done as always. I must tell you the food looked very appetizing and I think it was worth every penny. I loved how you threaded the old commercials into the video. Where I am in South Florida, there's none to be found. Anyway, let's hope you guys get 50K subscribers by the end of the year. Your putting out quality videos and I think it's very doable. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching. Your friend Mike.
I loved Bonanza! My husband and I used to go there all the time when we dating back in the late 80s and early 90s. Our location closed sometime in the late 90s. I wish they would bring it back. It was a popular place. Your vid brought back a lot of memories!
We used to go to Singing In The Barn, a gospel concert and would always make this place a part of our trip. We loved eating here. So sad that the concerts have stopped, but we may have to make a trip again just to eat here. Thanks for another great video.
Really enjoy your videos we have a Bonanza here in Lebanon Virginia. Really like it. Just found you all on UA-cam been watching since the Lurchfest video. Keep up the good work
My 2 first cousins were managers, my older brother and sister worked at Bonanza steakhouse in Fayetteville North Carolina in the 1980s. Bonanza had some very good steaks. I remember it like yesterday eating steak with mushrooms, onions, and peppers with A1 sauce. I even remembered their head boss name Mr Hood. Damn them were the days.
I worked for Bonanza 12 years ago til they closed the doors on a super bowl Sunday at noon . I was the only person the managers told and we closed the same day . No warning . It was located in Sulphur Louisiana . When the hurricane hit two of those years , the boss and family evacuated and me and my family were asked to stay there and sleep in the restaurant on floors and booth seats , since we never evacuate . My son and daughter cooked on the big grill and I cooked everything for the buffet . Great Times . I miss that place . The building is vacant still . Wish they would come back .
Still one of these open in my old hometown of Lebanon, VA. It was my first job at 16 and I bussed tables, washed dishes, and cooked as well. Food is great and the owner/operator Tim is a great guy!
Last time I was at one of these is sometime in the '70s when I was a kid. Loved this place! I wish there were more around still, because none anywhere close to me in over 30 yrs.. :( Loved the content guys, I watched every second :)
We still have our Bonanza back in my hometown (some family still lives back there) in Lebanon, VA. Always loved it growing up -- used to be the most amazing salad bar. I haven't been in decades. I will have to try to remember when I go back to visit. :)
There was a Bonanza where I am, it closed in the 2000's. I really liked the steak & chocolate nougat that was on the salad bar. There was a Ponderosa here as well if I remember correctly.
I been waiting for this video ! I finally was able to watch it early this morning . We had a Bonanza we use to go to it was In Norton , Va ( Norton Va is about 20 minutes from my house that’s in Ky I live on the Ky Va state line. When I was young my mom and Dad would go Grocery Shopping at Food Lion in Norton and it was right beside Bonanza . We always went to eat at Bonanza before getting our groceries . It brings back so many memories really Good Memories . I Always would get the chop steak and they had the best salad ever . Thanks for taking me down memory lane ! 🧡🤍Ren !
BONANZA!!!!! I can remember the smell of the steak and burgers cooking on the grill like it was yesterday!!!! Our restaurant closed in the late 80's and I was so sad. Our Bonanza looked nothing like this one, I remember it had no windows and it had this great dark ambiance. I remember the dark red plastic cups for drinks and the plastic red table tents with the numbers you put on your table for your order. They had the BEST salad bar and chocolate puddding and I can still taste it yummmm! I may have to take a trip from Jersey to Pa. to help my long time Bonanza craving! And you definetly have a new subscriber in me 😊
My beautiful bride of42 years and my favorite place to eat from MUCH younger days! Have always wondered what happened to these restaurants, happy to learn that there are a few, alas it's sounding like too few of them still operating. Since then I have become a classically trained and professional chef, and even knowing what I now know, would very much, I am certain, love to visit one of these restaurants! Thank you so much for rekindling fond memories and tastes!
Can’t believe you found one of those goid old fashioned steakhouses! We seemed to have a lot of Ponderosas around Chicago but I have visited Binanzas too! Loved those steakhouses with their great salad bars! Then there were old country buffets and now we only have Golden Corral but definitely those steakhouses were the best and came first! Sure miss them! Thanks for the memories! Felt like I was there with the steak always a ribeye from ponderosa buttery and melted in your mouth oh my god my mouth is watering! LOL! Great video guts#1
We were surprised when we saw it too. We thought all their restaurants closed. The one in our area closed over 30 years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Glad you have a BONANZA BUFFET IN YOUR NECK OF YGE WOODS. We had Bonanza both on the Northside and Eastside if Evansville, IN probably when there were 600 stores until they closed down. It was a sit-down then added on the Northside Barn shaped building. It was last an Indian Resteraunt. resteraunt. But it closed down. Eastside is a MERRY GO ROUND resteraunt off Monroe Ave. Still going strong. In Evansville. The steak and baked potato looked as I remembered it as a kid. Ponderosa off First Ave near where I lived with my parents in High School. Loved that resteraunt as well. They had the buffet w/ salad bar starting in the mid 80's. Closed down as well. Now it's a Liquor Locker. Just loved those resteraunts. We looked forward to Friday night, Bonanza night!!!! Boy the food looked excellent. Fried, grilled chicken, pork chops, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, pizza, tacos, soup, broccoli and cheese,, and bean soup my favorite salad bat w everything imaginable, rolls,, bread, cookies, different flavors of jello, pies, cobblers, brownies, cakes So big from when It it was a sit down resteraunt. I do remember the commercials. Waitress was dressed in brown, orange cream striped top with black skirt here.
Worked at a bonanza as a kid in the early 70s, and met my wife there she was the cashier, and I worked the broiler as a cook, we would have a Tuesday night special of ribeye steak baked potato texas toast salad, and dessert that would bring them in circling the outside of the building for hours, our menu wasn't anything like this one you were at, ours was much smaller, sure is amazing to see one still in operation under that name. thanks for the memories.
I remember going to Bonanza restaurant back in 1972 while on vacation to Great Lakes and Chicago; Illinois with my family. It was the best steak I ever had.
What a great review! My brother and sister worked at a Bonanza in Rhode Island in the early 80s. I carried on the tradition but worked at a York Steakhouse in the late 80s. If I'm not mistaken, the last York Steakhouse is still in business in Columbus Ohio and maintains the original "Castle" motif.
Anyone remember Trail Dust Steakhouse. Just don't wear a tie... Love this video nostalgia- Like going to A&W for a root beer float, hamburger and fries... Boy I miss places like that. Love Bonanza my sister worked their, they treated employees good. WOW that place was clean...
Loved Bonanza they had Delicious food and Steaks were good to I Love there Yeast Rolls. Thanks for Sharing bring back Memories . Wish they had a Quincey Restaurant they used to be Popular to back in the day.
Oh yes, I remember Bonanza and Ponderosa, we didn't eat there often but every once in a while, I don't remember the buffet portion though. We still don't have any buffets open that I know of in California since Covid started, in fact some buffet restaurants totally went out of business. I'm not sure I'd do a buffet now, I eat so little that they are never worth it for me, but I do enjoy a nice steak and baked potato. Thanks for taking us on a walk down memory lane, that was fun.
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed the video. Where we live there are no longer any buffets either. I do like that they offer gloves to wear at the buffet. But I think they should have had the gloves way before covid. Thanks for watching 😎😎
When I saw this I had a feeling you guys were in Chambersburg!☺️We had a Bonanza in Hanover during my childhood, it became a Cactus Willie’s, then a medical place and now it’s empty (beside the closed Wendy’s and Pizza Hut I worked at many moons ago). It was such a great place when I was a kid. We also had a Ponderosa on the North end, long gone now. Edited to add…I think that Bonanza in Chambersburg used to be at a different location and moved into the old Ryan’s because that front lobby is a duplicate of Ryan’s.
I live in Ontario Canada and we had one in Milton near Oakville, which is where I lived. It was the one buffet that we all looked forward to going to! It was a completely put together buffet that had everything! And the dessert section was always the best! I completely forgot about this place until I saw it on your channel. Thank you for the Canadian childhood throwback!
Loved Bonanza Steakhouse back in the 70's and then Ponderosa in the 80's, 90's until somewhere in the 2000's... was so bummed when it closed. Also Howard Johnson's, IHop, Lum's, Rob Roy's , The Orange Julep. Have fond memories of eating at those restaurants gone by. It's ashame they no longer exist. Our kids missed out.
I wish we had a Bonanza here in San Antonio. The one we had closed about 20yrs.ago. I remember the last time I ate at Bonanza I had my granddaughter with me she was about 6months now she's 26 so,that's how long it's been since I've ate at Bonanza.😋
Does this bring back memories...We loved Bonanza Steakhouse , and had one about 15 min, away from where we lived.....I would like to thank you for all your recommendations of places to go in Lancaster P.A. We tried about 8 of them all were spot on...You helped to make our trip more amazing...
In college that would be my one meal for the day, what a great restaurant then. Glad to read that you had found one still operating and it was a great experience! Keep up the good work guys

Love that you show the old commercials. Brings back good memories of yesteryear. Thanks for your hard work and effort to share.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate it. 😎😎
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I haven't been to one since the 80's and Ponderosa in the 90's....and don't forget a similar place called Western Sizzlin'! If you try to resurrect Bonanza's, then see about bringing back Howard Johnson's Restaurants...
I remember those. They were on the Ohio Turnpike years and years ago. Forgot about them till you mentioned them. 😎😎
John and I were surprised when we saw this Bonanza. The one where we live closed over thirty years ago. 😎😎
It had been 30 years since we have eaten at Bonanza. We had a good day. Our grandson turned 5 years old today. Thanks for watching 😎😎
I’m having serious flashbacks. As a kid in Minnesota, my family and I used to go to church on Saturday nights, and then go to Bonanza for supper. Thanks for the great memory!
Glad the video brought back good memories for you. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Who can argue with Rodney Dangerfield and Monty Hall?
Great video you guys are great!
Thanks for watching 😎😎
I remember my parents used to take us there because I was a picky eater. I loved their country fried steak. I miss that. Thanks for letting us know there’s one in Chambersburg. I live in Ohio but have relatives in Hanover & we pass through there on the way. Keep up the great content.
Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Dad miss you and your Bonanza steakhouse. Utica New York in the seventies, my father owned this restaurant I use to bus tables. Rip Dad. ❤️
Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
We wish we still had one in our area. The food and service was very good. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Thanks for the nice comment. We need to check on the PO box. We appreciate you watching and wanting to send us something. Have a good weekend 😎😎
Mom would take us occasionally after church, really good food, good price, great memories
Very good prices. The buffet is very good. 😎😎
The prices for the buffets sound extremely reasonable for the quality and amount of food available.
We thought the price was very reasonable. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
I loved the Ponderosa, I've never heard of Bonanza but it seems they are owned by the same company. I also loved a place called Sizzler Steakhouse. I wish they could make a comeback and open more restaurants. Thanks for making this video.
Does anyone remember beef steak Charlie
@@Patricia-om3vo yes, I remember seeing commercials for Beefsteak Charlie's many moons ago, lol!
Malaine thank you for your reply it was many moons ago but the food was very good have a good day and stay well
@@Patricia-om3vo I never went there but the commercials made the food look good. Glad you got to enjoy it.
We had a Sizzler. Also a Ponderosa and Bonanza back in the good old days. We need to bring them back. 😎😎
Love the history about Dan Blocker, love how y'all do the history about places, love a steak, thanks for showing us God Bless, and love Rodney Dangerfield he cracks me up
Thanks for the nice comment . We appreciate it. Rodney was funny. Have a good weekend 😎😎
Don't see too many steak houses these days. What a shame. your food looked really good. Thank you for sharing.
It is a shame. The food was very good. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Yummy!! Thank you again for an interesting video.Everything looked very good.❤️👍
You are welcome. Everything was very good 😎😎
I wish they would bring back restaurants like this, with a variety of food choices, making me hungry😊
I wish they did too. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Glad at brought back good memories. Very nice place to take a family and reasonable prices. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Y’all taking me back to my childhood! Seriously, warm fuzzies thinking about all the family dinners, thank you!!
We are glad this video brought back good memories. Thanks for watching.😎😎
Hey guys. We recently took a Gettysburg trip and decided to eat here thanks to your review since it’s not far..we are big fans. It was amazing! Everything you say is true. I have my whole family subscribed and watching your Chan!
We are glad you had a good experience. We appreciate you watching and telling your family about our channel. 😎😎
I loved this trip back in time, the original commercials, shame that more of these places don't exist anymore, salad bar looked great, lots of choices and such reasonable price, glad you found one and brought us a taste of nostalgia
The buffet and salad bar were very nice. John liked the steak. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎 TCB
I’m 41 but I remember going there as a kid. My parents lived at the salad bar😄One of the locations is a Mexican restaurant now. They even kept the exterior. So many memories
Watching this video, it looks way different now than it was in the 80s/90s when I went. It was strictly a salad bar, while the hot foods you order in the front.
I always like their salad bar too. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
I agree it was a reasonable price restaurant to take the family out for dinner. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
Your the best commercial they could have ,Well done , Thanks.I think it's worth the 150 + mile trip from home.
Thank you for the nice compliment. We appreciate it.😎😎
Great video as always! Have seen Bonanza in years brought back memories!! Thanks for sharing!!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
The Bonanza that was in my town years ago ( my girls first jobs working there) was personally owned. I do miss it. It was always busy. The one thing I did not see on the buffet was rice pudding. Bonanza made it from scratch and I may have the recipe for it. Enjoy your weekend 😊
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video. Not sure if that's what I couldn't figure out what it was. Never really eaten rice pudding. 😎😎
Great review, great prices. We had a Ponderosa restaurant in our town. Love the retro commercials. Miss Rodney Dangerfield. Wish they would bring the restaurant back. Thanks you two for the video.
We do also. Don't understand why they are not opening new ones. 😎😎
I loved Bonanza both the resturant and the tv show. Hoss was my favorite character on the show. My Dad was so sad when Dan Blocker passed away. It was so cute how you put their old ads in your video. Brings back good memories.
We loved the show also. Glad you enjoyed the video. 😎😎
This is the first time we have seen a Bonanza in over thirty years. I'm glad this brought back good memories for you. 😎😎
I remember when we had Ponderosa here in Chicago land area but they disappeared a while ago. Last time I ate there was back in 2006 in Gatlinburg, TN
The buffet was nice. First time we have been to one in 30 years.😎😎
😊😊 we all need a Bonanza in our towns !!🥰🥰 i remember going to one when me and the hubby were dating..miss the good food. and happy times!!
It bought back good memories for us. Thanks for watching 😎😎
This has to be one of my favorite reviews. Who knew Bonanza was still around? All my friends worked there in high school. One of my husband's favorite restaurants when we started dating 30 yrs ago! Thanks!
We were surprised when we saw this restaurant. Ours close 30 years ago.😎😎
Lots of a great selection on the buffet…. Looks pretty good… Great review….Thanks to you both…
Thanks for watching.😎😎
we loved this place growing up in iowa! always got the buffet. ames and marshalltown. that was our monthly vacation. travel to the big city, shop at the mall, kmart, walmart, target, sears and eat buffet at bonanza
We used to have a bonanza where we live, but it closed over 30 years ago. So we were surprised when we saw this one.😎😎
Thanks for your kind words Mike. John puts a lot of time editing the video. Thanks for watching 😎😎
I loved Bonanza! My husband and I used to go there all the time when we dating back in the late 80s and early 90s. Our location closed sometime in the late 90s. I wish they would bring it back. It was a popular place. Your vid brought back a lot of memories!
It was very popular place to go. To bad their are nor many left anymore. Thanks for watching 😎😎
We used to go to Singing In The Barn, a gospel concert and would always make this place a part of our trip. We loved eating here. So sad that the concerts have stopped, but we may have to make a trip again just to eat here. Thanks for another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it. If you go we hope you have a great visit. 😎😎
Really enjoy your videos we have a Bonanza here in Lebanon Virginia. Really like it. Just found you all on UA-cam been watching since the Lurchfest video. Keep up the good work
So glad you found our channel. We appreciate you watching. 😎😎
The good old days. Thanks for sharing your story. 😎😎
Didn't know there was any left. Great place in the day
We were surprised when we saw this Bonanza .The one where we live closed over thirty years ago.😎😎
That is sad. To bad the building is still empty. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Looked delicious. I remember Bonanza, I wonder why they closed down. Nice video. Thanks and take care.
I don't know why they closed. Ours closed about 30 years ago. 😎😎
Still one of these open in my old hometown of Lebanon, VA. It was my first job at 16 and I bussed tables, washed dishes, and cooked as well. Food is great and the owner/operator Tim is a great guy!
Wish we had one here. Would go quite often enjoyed this one and miss it from years ago when we had one. 😎😎
Last time I was at one of these is sometime in the '70s when I was a kid. Loved this place! I wish there were more around still, because none anywhere close to me in over 30 yrs.. :( Loved the content guys, I watched every second :)
We are glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Wow great video of my hometown Bonanza....crazy thing is me and co worker were there that day! I saw him and our regular waitress. Good video!
That is cool. We were all there at the same time. The one in our area closed over thirty years ago.😎😎
We still have our Bonanza back in my hometown (some family still lives back there) in Lebanon, VA. Always loved it growing up -- used to be the most amazing salad bar. I haven't been in decades. I will have to try to remember when I go back to visit. :)
Hopefully it's as good as this one. Loved Bonanza😎😎
That was so much fun .The food looked fresh .And huge variety.l love Rodney Dangerfield .He never got any respect Loved the old commercials
He never did. He was funny. Food was very fresh. Glad you likes the ads. 😎😎
There was a Bonanza where I am, it closed in the 2000's. I really liked the steak & chocolate nougat that was on the salad bar. There was a Ponderosa here as well if I remember correctly.
It's a shame they closed. Loved both places. 😎😎
🧡🤍Ren !
Glad it brought back good memories for you. The buffet was nice. John liked the steak. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
And you definetly have a new subscriber in me 😊
We appreciate you subscribing. I wish we still had a Bonanza where we live. Ours's closed over 30 years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
I hope you and your wife will come across a Bonanza . It bought back good memories for us too. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Fried, grilled chicken, pork chops, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, pizza, tacos, soup, broccoli and cheese,, and bean soup my favorite salad bat w everything imaginable, rolls,, bread, cookies, different flavors of jello, pies, cobblers, brownies, cakes
So big from when It it was a sit down resteraunt. I do remember the commercials. Waitress was dressed in brown, orange cream striped top with black skirt here.
The buffet was nice. I liked the meatloaf. John liked the steak. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
We had a Bonanza in my hometown Owosso, Michigan. Loved the chopped steak, baked potato, and the Texas toast.
You guys still have a few Ponderosa's in the State of Michigan. They are owned by the same company now. I remember Bonanza more though. 😎😎
I remember going to Bonanza restaurant back in 1972 while on vacation to Great Lakes and Chicago; Illinois with my family. It was the best steak I ever had.
Really miss these places. Hate they went out of business.😎😎
Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Keep the great videos coming! I love me some Bonanza😋
Thank you Mike😎😎
Anyone remember Trail Dust Steakhouse. Just don't wear a tie...
Love this video nostalgia- Like going to A&W for a root beer float, hamburger and fries... Boy I miss places like that. Love Bonanza my sister worked their, they treated employees good. WOW that place was clean...
Don't remember that place. Bobbie and I still go to A&W. They still have the frosted mug. Loved Bononza.😎😎
Loved Bonanza they had Delicious food and Steaks were good to I Love there Yeast Rolls. Thanks for Sharing bring back Memories . Wish they had a Quincey Restaurant they used to be Popular to back in the day.
We never heard of a Quincey Restaurant Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
I really miss All those places. Don't know what happened? Love your videos and look forward to them🥰🥰
They were great restaurants. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
I live in Ontario Canada and we had one in Milton near Oakville, which is where I lived. It was the one buffet that we all looked forward to going to! It was a completely put together buffet that had everything! And the dessert section was always the best! I completely forgot about this place until I saw it on your channel. Thank you for the Canadian childhood throwback!
We were surprised when we saw this restaurant. The one in our area closed over 30 years ago. Glad it brought back some good childhood memories.😎😎
I love the addition of the retro commercials!!!
Thank you. We enjoy seeing the old commercials, too. We appreciate you watching. 😎😎
The Bonanza in our area closed over 35 years ago. We sure do miss it. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
I wish we had a Bonanza here in San Antonio. The one we had closed about 20yrs.ago. I remember the last time I ate at Bonanza I had my granddaughter with me she was about 6months now she's 26 so,that's how long it's been since I've ate at Bonanza.😋
Where we live ours closed about 30 years ago.😎😎
Does this bring back memories...We loved Bonanza Steakhouse , and had one about 15 min, away from where we lived.....I would like to thank you for all your recommendations of places to go in Lancaster P.A. We tried about 8 of them all were spot on...You helped to make our trip more amazing...
So glad we could help. There are a lot of good places to eat in Lancaster. Glad you had a good time. 😎😎
Brings back great memories from years ago. Thank you
Would you have the locations of the other bonanza restaurants?
I think if you go to Bonanza's website, they will give you the locations.😎😎
We still have a Ponderosa in Coldwater, Michigan but we haven't been there for over 10 years, we might have to give it another try.
You might have to get lunch. Thanks for watching 😎😎
In college that would be my one meal for the day, what a great restaurant then. Glad to read that you had found one still operating and it was a great experience! Keep up the good work guys
Thanks Michael appreciate it. 😎😎
Loved this review. I don’t recall eating at Bonanza/Ponderosa but was impressed with how clean it was and the variety of food choices.I miss places like this and Sizzler. No locations in the West at all. Thanks for the review!
We used to have both Bonanza Ponderosa. They always had good food. But both closed over thirty years ago where we live.😎😎
Oh my goodness the cornie commercials when we was young ooh today u brought back the best time of my life good food
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
We had a Ponderosa and Bonanza in our small town growing up. They was our go to place for our family of five when I was growing up along with Frische's. Cheap and good food I miss them.
We used to have both restaurants about 25 years ago. 😎😎
Hi John and Bobbie The Bonanza restaurant is decent restaurant and reasonably priced. I was there in 2014 which I believe was around the time the time the Bonanza open.Looks the same as I remember being there, nice and clean too. Thanks for the memories!!
It was very clean. The buffet was nice. John liked his steak. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Yum !The buffet looks one if the best i seen so far .
