We drive by that restaurant every time we travel to Lancaster, and to be truthful, thought it was out of business. Any Bonanza restaurants I’ve ever been to went out of business many moons ago. Next time we pass through Chambersburg, definitely will have to stop. I always loved visiting a Bonanza! Food was always good and so were the prices! Thanks for sharing.
It sounds like a great job! I can imagine that between your coworkers and customers there are lots of memories. Wish Bonanza would make a comeback. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Love the nolstalogia of Bonanza and Ponderosa. We used to make the pot pie bake with biscuits. After seeing this dish in your video, we’re going to have to cook this again this fall. Another well done video y’all!
We have been more nostalgic lately. Thinking a lot of things from our childhood that don't exist anymore. So glad we were able to go here. Hope your pot pie bake turns out delicious!
GREAT video! The highlight for us where the two traveling subscribers at the end. It was really great meeting y'all. Some people are not what you expect when you meet them in person. Your family is 100% genuine nice people. Safe Travels
Thank you for the kind words! We know exactly what you mean about some people not being what you expect. Most of the people we have met from UA-cam have been awesome but we have met a few that were not friendly or were not genuine. We absolutely love when our subscribers recognize us and we get to meet them. We enjoyed meeting you two and hoping our paths cross again.
You all making us hungry. The food looked real good. Bonanza reminds me of a Western Steer. We used to have a few of those back in the old days. One in Great Bridge cheaapeake va and Elizabeth City NC we ate at both when we were kids. I loved that Bonanza commercial. I remember it. Thanks for sharing.
We had one years ago and we miss it. We were so excited to find this location while we were traveling. We had to stop and check it out. Such a nice restaurant and we would definitely stop here again. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great evening!
We both remember going to Bonanza as a kid with our family too. Wish Bonanza's would make a come back! Chuck wagon stew sounds great! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I don't know what it was but that Mac n cheese in the pot looked incredible lol very visually pleasing. Also enjoyed the old bonanza footage at the beginning!
Carly got it and ate what she put on her plate. Sometimes she doesn't like any kind other than Kraft. So it must have been good for her to finish it. We have recently been feeling nostalgic about things from our childhood. We can remember there being a Bonanza Steakhouse in Lynchburg and going there with our family. So we had to visit here! Thanks for watching!
This has me starving for a Bonanza. I was telling Cindy we had one about 20 minutes from my house and we loved it and it closed we were so sad . Then Cindy told me their one close to me so one day I’m taking off and visiting one . I always love all the history I never knew that the star of Bonanza started it I just thought someone just run with the name . So I really enjoy the history you put into your videos . I love the intro with Barney ! I loved the Barney Character. Everything looks like I remember it . I enjoyed the back ground music it was so fitting for the theme . The Ponderosa that’s newt to the Hospital I worked at kept their items in pans and pots I never seen that before until then because my Bonanza did the traditional trays . From the Witty intro to the sign off I was living for this video! Keep those reviews coming my friends !! 🧡🤍🙌🙌🙌Ren
this is a fantastic review,i really loved the old commercial i love the bonanza steakhouse ,we use to have ponderosa steak house in dayton ohio ,where is chambersgurg pa thank you
We had been wanting to get to a Bonanza for awhile. Chambersburg is about 20 miles north of the Maryland/Pennsylvania state line going North on I81. It's very easy to get to. It was on our route as we went to Hershey, PA. We really enjoyed eating here. Thanks for your continued support.
We had one here on the Gold Coast, Australia in the 1970s. I can still remember the thick toast. It was gone in the 1980s and a shopping centre called Pacific Fair expanded and built over the site where it used to be. I can still visualize getting out of my parents 2 door Chrysler Valiant and walking to the entrance of Bonanza. Miss those days.
Thanks for sharing that! It is because of those awesome memories that we wanted to come here. Wish they would open more restaurants. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Would love to visit Australia one day!
We came across this one by luck when in the area I know you had mentioned about us going to the one in Lebanon. We are still game if y’all are. How much longer will y’all be In Minnesota?
@vafunseekers We are heading out early in the morning, but won't be home until late Sunday evening. I'm thinking Lebanon is about as far away from where you all are, as it is for us, isn't it? I think we figured that it was about 3 hours? I saw where you all went on a road trip down to Alabama. How is that going?
@@NCMemoryMakers Its closer to 4 hours for us to Lebanon. We left when I got off work yesterday. It’s very hot! But it’s good so far. Headed to Destin. Y’all be safe traveling back home.
@vafunseekers Have fun in Destin! Can't wait to see the videos from there. Glad David recovered from the milkshake at McDonald's. I thought he was a goner.
We have a golden corral in our area. Our Golden Corral is all buffet now. I remember when it use to be order, buffet, or add on the buffet. Thanks for watching and commenting.
A little bit of "Bonanza" trivia. The reason why the principal actors always wore the same outfits was to save on filming costs! That way, the producers could re-use stock footage without it looking like something Edward D. Wood Jr. would've done! The reason "Bonanza" came to be was to help RCA sell those expensive CT-100 color TV sets. (They started out at almost 1/2 the cost of a new car when introduced in 1954...) I miss Bonanza, Buckaroo, and Western Sizzlin. All of them had good steaks at good prices. Last Bonanza I remember seeing was in Falmouth, VA. A very tastefully done video. God Bless!
Thanks for the Bonanza trivia. That makes sense why they wore the same outfits. Unbelievable that a tv was about 1/2 the cost of a car. When new things come out they are more expensive. I'm not familiar with Buckaroo. But I would love to have a Bonanza or Western Sizzlin in my area. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It is so appreciated!
We missed out then. We didn't try that. We don't always eat lots off of the dessert bar. Will have to remember that if we have the chance to go back. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
I remember it well! It always makes me a little sad when I think of some of the cool places that no longer exist or are barely in existence. Wish we had one in the area I live. Thanks for watching and commenting.
He might have been in a better mood if he had eaten here! I understand that he was the longest living Confederate General. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@vafunseekers LOL “better mood”. He’s buried near Point Pleasant, WV, which I live close to. I consider him my “hometown general” - he’s buried on a beautiful hillside.

I worked for Bonanza as a starting dishwasher fry cook head steak griller and finally manager. Some of the best years of my life
It sounds like a great job! I can imagine that between your coworkers and customers there are lots of memories. Wish Bonanza would make a comeback. Thanks for watching and commenting.

There use to be one in the town I grew up in and it was definitely a favorite. I miss it. 😭 Y’all go to such fun places and your videos are very good.

Stay tuned for another Bonanza in our future. Are y’all going to Passholder’s day at Dollywood next Friday?
