'Which Welsh TV program depicts one man's struggle against a town of pyromaniacs?'
'Fireman Sam' 😂😂 So true! I never questioned it.
Sam is Welsh?
Yes, given its size they have a lot of incidents!
@@user-op8fg3ny3jyes, it was originally broadcast in Welsh too
What's the expected answer?
@@user-op8fg3ny3jThe village it's set in is called Pontypandy, a Welsh name
I really want someone to google Fireman Sam, thinking it's a hard hitting drama...
How dare you imply it's not.
You're not remembering how it felt as a 5 year old. The drama! The suspense! FIRE!? Will the cat be rescued from the tree? Won't it? Nobody knows... until Sam's on the scene.
Thank you for putting that song back in my head...
That would be a good sketch!
Okay, I will google it. I didn't get a lot of jokes anyway, but that's why we have you - the great educators 😊
"What can Welsh see from the coast?"
"Ireland?"
"No, whales!"
👍🏻 Funny! I suggest you submit this
Odds are you might not be able to see Ireland from the coast, you'd have to be more inland and higher up. Plus the weather and that would also have to be specific, so you can't just look and see Ireland whenever you want.
If you want to see Ireland I recommend you just go there, maybe stay in Doolin and go see the Cliffs of Moher from the water. It's beautiful.
On a flight to London, I remember during an announcement toward the end of the flight it was mentioned that we were passing over Wales. I guarantee there was at least one person looking out the window on that plane and thinking "Pfftt...morons. We aren't even over the ocean anymore."
@@liliowen2132 Can definitely see England though. I could see it faintly off in the distance out of my window.
Hog pronouncing that Welsh town. WELL DONE! It’s like a magic trick.
I like his little first reaction to the officer's request, like "Oh, yes, I got that one, great!" 😊
I mean he didn't get it right...
Not miles off but at least meters lol
@@Yes-gu2wn He didn't? That's disappointing :)
It was my baby's first word.
@@Yes-gu2wn Which part did he get wrong?
Pronouncing Llainfair PG's full name gives you automatic Welsh citizenship rights.
Oh good to know. If Le Pen becomes president here in France I know where to go!
I do not know about citizenship rights, but pronouncing that correctly for my Welsh 'gran' got me the title of the favourite grandson and a wife.
@@Spondrebit weird marrying your Gran. Certainly sounds like she was impressed, though..
So, Barbarella, too?
@@maciejbojko1802 What?
I did not get half of the jokes about Wales but was most impressed by Hog being able to speak the towns name. 😅
I regret to tell you that he did, in fact, pronounce it incorrectly. He wasn't completely off, but noticeably so unfortunately :(
@jacobsaxby9468 he got the "gogogoch" right, but that's about it 😂 Points for trying though, right?
I had to google many of them, too.
Apparently Ryan Reynolds, who’s not Welsh, is involved with a football team from Wales and has started promoting the local language and culture. He also played Deadpool (joke at 00:35).
Charlotte Church isn’t a church but a person (a Welsh singer).
It seems the joke about closing the roof may be related to a football stadium, but I’m not sure.
@@DoriZuzayou realise that’s the whole point of the jokes 😅
@@DoriZuzanot Football RUGBY!!!
‘It’s not unusual” is potentially the most perfect joke I’ve ever heard. Bravo 👏
But as Welsh names go, "Bassey" has a bit more staying power
Correct emoji choice.
“The Corgis!” had me rolling.
Everybody's got to learn sometime....
“Why is the surname Jones so common in Wales?”
“…It’s not unusual.”
I think this one was my favourite, well done lads. Credit for the (yeah I’m not even going to try to spell it) pronunciation as well ❤
Can you explain that one? I didn't get it.
@@andreasbuehler1821 it’s a Tom Jones song
@@sarah.bea. @andreasbuehler1821
And Tom Jones was regarded as a sex icon. I can't say I understand the appeal, but women would throw their panties and hotel room keys at him when he was on stage. It's like they're implying that they have a lot of people descended from him.
@@verminter I think that Jones is actually a relatively common Welsh surname. I’ve heard it referenced a few too many times for it to be a coincidence. I‘m not from the UK tho… But the joke was superb, so many layers :)
@@sarah.bea.I am from the Uk and you are right. Jones is a very common surname in Wales and “it’s not unusual” is a very well known song recorded by Tom Jones. Simple as that. It’s nothing to do with him being regarded as a sex symbol.
The only thing I regret is that the scetch is over already. I have no choice but to watch it once more.
Two hits for the price of one, nice!
I hope that right ear of yours is insured for a small fortune, with the amount of screentime it's getting in these immigration sketches

'It's not unusual' 😂😂😂😂
"to be loved by anyone" 🎵🎶
To have fun with anyone 🎶
Picturing The Carleton now…
Haha. I thought the joke was that common= the opposite of unusual 😅
Too right a dragon looks cooler than a leak. A leek looks cooler than a leak 😅
Every so often I come across an old screenshot and get the giggles - my ex, who is not a native speaker of English, had posted a Facebook ad for a car in excellent condition: "no leeks." 😁 To me, it's such an adorable error because how would he know it's not spelled that way? Perfectly logical mistake to make.
In defence of the residents Pontypandy their woes were not always fire related. Getting heads out of saucepans, rescuing children from cliffs. And the fires i remember were often caused by animals, squirrels chewing through wires, jack daws nesting on chimneys. It was the animals and kids you had to watch out for in that village!
They were all in on it Katie come on, OPEN YOUR EYES
Norman price ….
My kids loved Fireman Sam...and I always felt almost sorry for the insurance company that insured this town 😂
So glad you cleared that up 😁
@@chrissis.6140 That was covered in the unscreened episode where the entire village was blacklisted by all insurance companies 😂
Can't believe some people don't like the immigration sketches - I find them always so cleverly funny and full of puns that I can't see coming! Great craic.
Where are these people, and what are their names?
They never punch down at other countries. It's never mean.
Plus , educational.
Has Hog been practising that final answer all his life? Stellar!
Weirdly he was practicing it for a different sketch
A sketch that will be revealed in the future I hope@@foilarmsandhog
Has taken more or less time to learn than the list of places the English have been ‘visiting’?
@@venanziadorromatagni1641it's quicker to name the places the English haven't visited in battle.
"practicing."
I am pretty sure you summon a dragon when you pronounce that town name correctly
You do, if you manage it three times in a row.
We may never know - at least, not if they all do it like yer man did there.
I've suffered through too many episodes of Fireman Sam, so that joke had me laughing out loud! But the noise woke my kids up. So now I have to watch Fireman Sam again.
Thanks for the laughter anyways :)
It's a feedback loop!
If there's trouble...
*anyway
Speaking of accents, FOIL! I have a bone to pick with you! I had a date with a lovely person from Cork and all I could think of was Foil's line "what did they say about Cork??!" from the regional accents sketch! It was so hard to keep a straight face! 😅 Thanks lads, thanks a lot.
oh no, we've ruined it for you. I''m so sorry
@@foilarmsandhog ah don't be sorry, no one I'd rather have living in my head than you lads 😄
I can't see the name Cork without reading it "CORK!?!?" the way Foil yells bahaha.
@@twinberettas Hahaha me too! Glad it's actually common amongst FAH'ers 😂
That clipboard has travelled countries more than water in the ocean 😂
Actually there are different clipboards in the immigration sketches. But you are right, this one likes to go to different countries a lot. 😅
Nice to see a new variation on the old Tom Jones joke get an airing
" Doctor doctor, i keep thinking that im Tom Jones"
" Don't worry, it's not unusual"
The “it’s not unusual” Tom Jones reference is very cleaver 👏👏👏
And clever too!
@@gerardacronin334 Don't get cut up about it
As a welsh man i clicked on this thinking it was gonna be rage baiting but actually quite funny! Well done lads
Foil Arms and Hog never do ragebait sketches. Professionals have standards.
Shout out to Foil for the new design of the thumbnails. They've always looked good, but now they're looking great with all the details you've added to them.
That's Foil at work!
As a Welsh native, I genuinely didn't understand why this accent was meant to be Welsh, until I heard the fireman Sam joke- and now it makes sense. Pontypandy has a lot to answer for.
My welsh uncle sounds exactly like this. (My dad moved away when he was 18 and his accent changed a lot). He doesn’t speak welsh. They’re from Cardiff, I have no idea aboutPontypandy
It's pretty accurate
Ah, Fireman Sam. Up there with Bob the Builder(a tale of how one man built his nation from the ground up), and Pingu(a story of one penguin and his family surviving the harsh Antarctic)
I loved Pingu so much! The other two were outside of my time.
Who represents Wales in Buckingham Palace? The Corgis. HAHAHAHHAHA😂😂😂
I mean it is fitting that they get to bite back at the British monarchy.
@@matthewhall5571😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂. I didn't see that coming 😅
I heard it as "Barkingham Palace" so the answer was even more appropriate.
Brilliant, as ever. Sent it to a Welsh friend for comment and all he said was "They never mentioned rugby!"
No fucker bothers with it that’s why. Football is wales national sport and always has been
Closing the roof was mentioned
I'm Cymreag (Welsh) 🏴 but live in the U.S. This was so spot on! Well done, laddy's 😊❤😂
Arms' accent was on point! And the Fireman Sam joke was *chef's kiss *
I love the Ryab Reynolds Wrekham joke is tops! 😂 he's a national treasure now 😅
me: don't do it, don't do it, don't...
my brain: I'd like to thank the officer from Jamaica for coming in and doing the questions today.
(still one of the best lines from accent discrimination 😂)
I'll see myself out.
It was such an easy burn but I loved it
STAAAAHP 🤣
Foil:" You're a prick!"
This was the first comment I read, but I already feel it’s gonna be my favourite one for today 😂😂
@@_Miri_ When they announced Welsh immigration in the live stream, the first thing that came to my mind was that line and the look on poor Foil's face. Hilarious 🤣

Its not unusual. Now I cant help but to picture Hog doing the Carlton-dance to that song. 😂😅
Thanks for this image 😂

I'm impressed, 90 seconds of quick-fire jokes about Wales and you dodge the most obvious one!
What can we say ricequackers, we're classy guys
"The people of wales have been working very hard on this accent"
I think its amazing how you were able to make your jokes funny to people not from the UK and not really familiar with the Welsh at all
“You’re a liar…you’re a liar…you’re a liar…” - Arms getting into the accent (probably) 😄
Absolutely!
@@foilarmsandhog Good job on the accent
Tell me your printer is working and Foil didn't have to draw that dragon by hand 😂

I am very impressed with your welsh accent Arms !!! And Hog ..i bow to your pronunciation too 😊🎉
Excellent video as always. It was good of the Welsh Immigration Board to get that Swedish guy in to quiz the two gents wanting to enter Wales, nice to see that they aren't discriminating about how they have working for them 😆
IF you're up at the Edinburgh Fringe this August, we are playing there all month with our new show - tickets: www.foilarmsandhog.ie/tour
Love the sketch! I had to go to Google to understand most of the jokes, but once I did, they were so clever. But i couldn't figure out 2 jokes:
"Where do you see a lot of Double Ds in Wales?" "The Valleys". "No, the alphabet".
"What do they do in Wales when it rains". "Close the roof".
A lot of Welsh alphabet letters are double letters so we have a d that makes a d sound. Then a dd that makes a th sound. Double d in the valley was about womens bra sizes. The roof joke because the national stadium for rugby of course has a famous closing roof. So when it rains as it often does it closes and play can go on!
@@egriffiths8993 Ah, thank you! I figured double D had to do with bra sizes. I googled "Wales valleys" and only got hits about big green spaces that are perfect for walking and mountain biking. 🙂
And thanks for the info about the rugby stadium and the roof!
@@rutica walking and mount'n 😍😍🥾👩❤👨
Brilliant guys 🤣🤣🤣 the only thing missing was a reference to Gavin and Stacey. 🏴
Fireman Sam! XD
My brother was obsessed with that show when he was little...and we live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA XD I don't know how we had access to it or how we even found it but it's pretty comical that we did.
It's a solid show
We had it in Croatia as well, it was a huge hit :D
And I hope you watch it with the proper accents, not with the american dub.
My favourite:
"What is Wale's most notable serial killer?"
"Anthony Hopkins"
LOL. It seems that the legacy of The Silence of the Lambs will surely never go awwy!
Nobody's ever pointed out that the valley he comes from doesn't have many sheep. No wonder the lambs are silent... 👻🐑
That movie put me off fava beans and chianti for life!
Thank you I could not hear the answer to that question - replayed it and only got “the apples”. Did not think Wales was known for apples in any way so have been searching the comments for a reference to the actual answer 😄
OK, I'll be honest, I'm not usually a fan of the immigration series these days, but this one was brilliant - absolutely brilliant! So many bangers! "It's Not Unusual"! Charlotte Church! And Arms, PLEASE congratulate Hog on his pronunciation of the "Llanfair..." etc - he made it sound so effortless! Fantastic work you lads! 🤣👍
Ah we got you!
Llanfairpwll is sufficient but Llanfair PG also works.
Or if you want to go the whole hog (ha), Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
He absolutely butchered it-but he kind of makes it sound like he didn't!
@@dragskcinnay3184Acting!
Yeah, effortlessly wrong!
Finally the red chequered shirt has its 20th appearance and this also marks the 10th time Hog wore it, which is the most out of you three. And thats perfect, since he is the one who wore it in its first sketch almost exactly 7 years ago.
Well done shirt. Now you can ask for a raise, holidays and a hot iron massage. As one of Hog's best purchases ever you deserve it. 😁😁😊🥳🥳
Serious bang for buck there
Taking fandom to a (slightly creepy??) new level.
Are you shop steward of the red check shirt union ? :)
@@naomiarram5187 Ah, well I would call it observant and too much spare time. 😆You should check out the Fahnwiki. The stuff up there is deeper than my shirt-hunt will ever be.🤣
@@daneenmurf1043 🤣 the dream job. I actually have spare time and so I fill it with keeping track of a few shirts the lads use. The red chequered is just the most used of them. 😊
As a Canadian: What?!?! Are the Welsh trying to steal Ryan Reynolds from us?
As a Canadian: I'd say they can have Justin Bieber, but we were dumped with him by the States, and we are eager to return him.
Cause I'm pretty sure he isn't Canadian.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney own Wrexham A.F.C. There’s a tv documentary series about it called ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
As a welsh jones myself, that was bloody lovlé
All in one take.
Superb writing and acting.
That welsh accent was suprisingly good and the fireman sam gag got me laughing
Cant wait for the next one lads
Nice one! Thanks Welsh guy
Sketch Idea: Self indulgent yoga instructor (maybe the music teacher changed profession)
Hogs just absolutely owning Llainfair's full name would make any Welsh proud.
Why/how are you guys so bloody good at this? Outstanding again.
This is a bit random, but I’m loving the spontaneous live steam model lads. It’s a really nice surprise on waking and I don’t lose sleep wondering if the 2am alarm is about to go! 😀
ha! some people hate it, but then it's better than NO stream I guess
@foilarmsandhog I much prefer the announced streams, not everyone can drop everything to watch when you just go live and I personally feel I'm letting you down by not being there live. Silly I know, but that's just me I guess 🤷♀️
Me too! I can never watch them live anyway as I’m at work during the day but it’s lovely having something unexpected to look forward to later!

What does he have to do with Wales?
He is a Canadian from Vancouver that owns a Soccer Team.

Welcome! Thanks to your son
The corgis and Fireman Sam made my day :D
There's only one pyro in Fireman Sam. It's Norman Price, the juvenile delinquent.
Not to mention cheese thief
Norman Price is _clearly_ Sam's unacknowledged son, desperate for some fatherly attention.
@@Gallowglacht I disagree. I think it's his nephew. Sam's brother is the dad and Sam knows it. But because Norman got the ginger recessive gene, Sam's brother has deniability.
"Why is Jones the most popular Welsh name?" "It's not unusual." (What a clever gag! For those who don't get it, it is a reference to the iconic Tom Jones song, "It's not unusual". Well done, lads.)
Just made my breakfast to some kind of It's not unusual/Fireman Sam mash up. Going to be in my head all day now, so thanks for that! 😅

It used to haunt me, but now it makes me laugh
I see arms had to take the welsh accent over from foil since the swines show
Careful what you wish for I guess!
Why do I get a distinct feeling that this sketch was written just for Hog to show off his mad skills at saying the town name.... or was it a dare for him to learn it.... hmmm.... questions.... lol
Awesome and amazing as usual!!! :D
Turn on UA-cam captions and pause when Hog says the name of the town.
It looks like a toddler ate Alphabet soup and became sick.
Then someone said, oh look, that’s what we’ll name this place.

Just sent this to my friend who lives in Wales. That was awesome! I will ask him if he thinks so too.
I just got the "It's not unusual" joke. Nice.
A for Arms for trying different accents. Not for the accent, but for trying 😂 now back off, everybody.
I don't know why, when they do English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh accents, I feel like I was doing IELTS Listening Tests
Brilliant Wrexham winks there, lads! Thank you so much for another great upload!
So happy for your success!
I've heard many Welsh people pronounce that town. Very good lads
And off to the internet I went to find out about those Welsh Valleys... Wikipedia was so helpful to redirect me ☺️ Oh my... that's a lot of beeping in a short video! 😬🤣 You always learn new things with your Immigration sketches!
I can't imagine the number of outtakes especially when Hog pronounces the Welsh town! Also can you explain the Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool references?
Ryan Reynolds is co-owner of Wrexham football club. He has turned them into a very high profile and fashionable club via his presence and a disney TV series which follows events at the club. Ryan has also bought much wider attention to Cymru and Welsh ways and culture so he's kind of a Welsh adopted son these days.
I've been waiting for this day! That was a hell of a welsh accent Hog, and the valleys joke sent me over the edge 😂
What is the valleys joke rally about? I am from continental Europe and don´t get it.
Very funny and VERY clever. Well done.
I’m an Australian and Fireman Sam was one of my FAVOURITE shows as a kid, second only to Postman Pat and Play School.
I love y'all. The prince of Wales is... English.
The slightly more complex doomdah harmony really giving us that Welsh atmosphere
Hahaha absolutely brilliant. On my tea break in work and am laughing myself silly here. Thanks lads 🏴🇮🇪
The notification for this sketch arrived just as I was working my way through some elementary Welsh language story books on my phone. For a moment I thought my phone really must be spying on me.
That is terrifying in fairness
