I would love if Animal Crossing did this. But have some tweaks. 1. make it similar to My Sims (I know, not the best game to play, but it had good ideas) where you can fully design homes and furniture for you villagers based on their personality types. 2. make it where if we want to make several different areas we can take our character and "move" to another area to start over without having to buy a whole new system (while also allowing us to keep our old areas in case we want to go back). 3. allow us to tailor make/move the items to our liking (i.e. if I have a trash can item and I'm doing an abandoned themed whatever, allow me to take that upright trash can and turn it on its side as if the wind knocked it over). 4. give us unlimited custom designs to use (when we are done using the custom design on something give us an option to "store it" for later use and get another design to use). That's a lot there. Sorry.

If anyone thinks they care about the consumers and their save files or purchasing a new game to start over again... I've got a bridge in Manhatten for sale.
They could make the Sims 2 + 3 = Sims 5 game that the MAJORITY of the fanbase has been begging for, for 10 long years. The way I see it is... they are killing off the pc/console part of the franchise (if not the entire thing). I think Grant knew it when he left. They don't want the expense of creating a pc/console simulation game as it's way to involved and expensive. They are going to use the assets already created for TS4 for their new marketing avenues of money grabbing online.. which they have been dying to do for decades now. I have every game and every expansion of every iteration of Sims game for 24 yrs. This is a sad day.

I don't think you're being unfair or anything, but it feels like you're making a lot of assumptions here. Justified ones for sure!
My read on this is that they want to pour more resources into whatever Project Rene is and potentially let Sims 4 coast. IMO this COULD be a good move when you look at how games like Minecraft have had indefinite road maps, but I also respect that this is EA we're talking about and I may be a bit too hopeful that they'll do the right thing. Eeh, I feel like the new generations of the Sims games brought something new and fresh to game play, that couldn't exist in the previous versions, and that's what made investing in the new games worth it. I can't remember the gap between Sims 1 and 2, but Sims 3 had a bigger more open world than Sims 2 and Sims 4 had a more robust emotion system than Sims 3... at the cost of the open world from Sims 3 haha...
Anyway I was excited to see the new take that Sims 5 would have -- honestly, I was hoping that they would have a more logical emotion system and an open world. But continuing with the Sims 4 is a disappointment to me. I'm getting whiplash at the number of expansions and packs and kits and creator DLC. There's rearranging of the menus to try to organize the bloat. Maybe I'm just old, but I don't like fishing through the slight changes to the UI to find the right dialogue. It makes me feel like playing the game is literally wasting my life.
I wonder how long before they start injecting "locked" objects into the game -- shaded out and when you hover over it, it says "Buy the XYZ expansion to experience this blender" or "Your Neighbor Sim just invited your sim to go bowling. Subscribe to unlock?"

they're just going to switch to a subscription-based service instead so wringing you dry won't be as obvious, just like adobe with their products. they'll find a way to take away what you've already bought through some sorts of restrictions and other paywalls, and if it's an online experience, i can very easily see it becoming a limitation to one house in the game and having to pay to have access to more, like ESO.

I hope they revamp TS4 in that they put the base game and the most important DLC's and make THAT the base game, and in that process, deep clean out as many bugs as they can and update the graphics and enhance interactions. Then I wish Project René comes as both a standalone experience as well as one that can communicate with TS4. Like Happy Home Paradise. I'm ever the optimist though, and the simple fact that we can still rest in the fact that we can keep investing in TS4 is major news to me. But they need to make the existing catalogue more accessible and way more optimized.

the sims 4 is not big no matter what you buy for it, it is pretty shallow and boring cash grab. A mess of bugs and issues that can't be fixed with each new update that literally break your game every time.
EA not making the sims 5 is basically killing the whole sims franchise, thanks EA for finally killing the sims. The good thing about it is that someone else will pick up the Sims audience and makes a better game for this audience that used to love the sims 1, 2, 3.
something that could have happen for the sims 5 but now will never happen.

Sims 4 base game has been broken since launch, though, and so many expansion and game packs have been released so broken they are almost unplayable. I haven't bought a thing for Sims 4 since 2022, and that is because it's just unplayable, and I feel like I'm wasting my money. And that makes me sad, because I've been into the franchise since Sims 2. So, I was actually looking forward to Sims 5, because I was hoping that if they rebuilt the game from the ground up, it might actually be enjoyable again. But sadly, it seems like they've opted, instead, to do a landlord special, where they just keep slapping layer after layer of white paint over a myriad of structural problems, and hoping no one will notice, while they keep raking in the money.
Also, co-op or multiplayer is the last thing I want in the Sims. Maybe I'm the odd one out, here, but it has always been a single-player, solo type enterprise. I'm an introvert. I don't want it.

      @sziklamester1244 Місяць тому +1

@@CrossingMinute A new game only could make it better if they are using new techs and actually focusing on making a game what many people liked about the franchise as a whole. I personally not like the Sims 4 because it is a downgrade from the Sims 3 and they cut a lot of ideas and went back to the early times of Sims with limited lot and stuff. I can however say they have innovations in the game but the pros are less than the cons and the very best would have been they are making a feature and simulation free game with new physics based engine for the Sims 5. This alone could be a good move but the focus on this franchise was always the reusability and resellability. EA will make millions of expansions to actually have a whole complete game and this business model is disgusting.
For the Sims 4 they should remake the whole code of the game to be less broken. This game is fundamentally broken and with the added expansions the signs shows more often and they are going to patch patch patch with no effort. The problem is during the time 10 year since this game was released a lot of people who contributed to the game left, new people came but they do no have talent or passion to make something real changes. This is the worst scenario but in my opinion they have enough talent to work but they are not able to do because of orders.

The Sims 3 was semi open world, have a nice "world builder" also you can create themes, styles and overall improve your experience without purchasing items to the game. The Sims 2-3 were the best in the franchise with the improvements they added.

This is in no ways good news, sorry. They're choosing to shelve the future of their mainline single-player series for something that's going to see nothing but microtransactions. Project Rene is nothing but red flags. Another instance of game devs forgoing one-time purchase model for something that will effectively be a subscription-model (even more than they were doing it with expansions). I fear the Sims players will give it a chance and fall for it because it has a lot of casual gamers that don't have experience with what it means to move a game from a one-time purchase into a subscription/microtransaction model. Long and short of it: You spend 100x times what you would have paid if you don't want your experience to be completely neutered.
I commend the optimism of people who think Sims 4 will keep releasing expansion packs if Rene does even moderately well. They'll shove it to the side as soon as they can, because they'll want to reel more players into Rene.

Knowing EA, the current studio will be shut down by the end of the week. XD
Wasn't Sims 4 meant to be an online game before it was forced to be like previous instalments? I'd argue a Sims 5 would've give them the breathing room to design a Sims game that's future proofed for this current plan they've got, that isn't built on spaghetti code (Probably why half the packs they add have bugs/glitches or just straight up don't work).
And this is EA we're talking about, they'll find many, many other ways to monetize it and I doubt it'll be player friendly. And I will be honest and say I only own one or two packs that were discounted at the time, I can't justify the price of the packs when the base game is bare bones. And needing DLC for already established DLC is just ridiculous.
At least with the older games when you bought the expansion pack, that was yours forever. You could reinstall it as many times as needed, even share with it friends. I'd sooner recommend people hunt down the older games and their expansion packs, then burning all their money on the Sims 4.

They've made it clear that they're going to monetize Rene with packs as it's a free to play game. If you watch the behind the Sims videos where they're talking about Rene it also sounds like they're going to take themes and split them up even more then the Sims 4 currently does now. So rain in the base game, snow in one pack, fall in another. So for players who dislike the Sims 4 and choose to move onto Rene will have to start again anyway. If this means me having the old sims 3 disks from the past for sims 4 (but have lost them from time.) I'd be meh about it. Once they fix the crazy small 100$ plus for such TINY packs and instead maybe put packs with LOTS of content to be WORTH their price. I can ignore my wishes for the ghosts to be the same too even if I wish they where more creepier/interestingly designed.

I started playing the Sims way back when Sims 3 was still the big new thing. I’ve followed Sims 4 since release, too. It’s been incredibly disappointing watching the steep decline into overpriced, buggy DLC, and a huge lack of care and effort from EA. I can only hope that this news comes with new hope, a potential release with heart poured into it, ironed of all the bugs and cheapskate nonsense. I grew up with the Sims and have loved the IP for years, I can only wish EA goes with the good ending and bounces back from the current state of things

Lets be honest here. The people who dislike the sims 4 aren't going to be happy with a new iteration of the series. With the release of inzoi and Paralives, they can finally get something else in the genre and I'm happy for them. For the love of god, please move on please. Yet, if there was a sims 5 that was made - I'm pretty sure it won't fix anything. Like we know we are going to get the same DLC for the sims 5 at the same price tag of the sims 4 DLC. I'm pretty sure that if a sims 5 was made that the base game would probably be lackluster and EA would want to monetize DLC. Again, we will literally have the same problems reappear like in the sims 4 so why does it matter if we get a new sims game or not?

Just tried to get my friend into the sims and having her play Sims 4 made me realize just how congested the game is now with all the packs and updates. Like every five seconds I would say “ignore that pop up.” “Don’t worry about that”. “Not important”
Not to say I want less of an experience, but I think the let’s add more and more and more can at some point just become a cluster cluck.
Like oh there is a festival and also a neighborhood action plan, oh and prom, also here is a follow your sim to work, and a holiday, someone coming to stay, and even though you got married 5 days ago would you like to ask your neighbor that you just met to be your ring bearer.

My issue with this is that I do not, for one second, trust EA to actually have the interest of their customers at heart, and that makes me deeply cynical of the direction of the Sims. Project Renee reeks of forcing always-online play onto the players. They’ve already carved the game up so much and charge so much for the DLC that it’s already exhausting to try keep up with them. It’s about what I’d expect for a company like EA who have done such atrocious things to their workers and bleeding their customers dry.
Oh well. Yo ho ho for me.

This is great news to be sure, a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Now if EA could go the extra step further and realized that this is also a 10 year old game, and make drastic heavy cuts to the cost of almost equally aged DLC because after 10 years there is no reason why a full sims experience should cost you Base game+$1,235. looking at some of the costs of certain DLC's EA could easily make hand over foot more income from this game than they are currently making even if they were to cut the total cost by 3/4, especially considering they're intending to add new DLC to sims 4 indefinitely, which is now going to drive veteran players and new player alike back to the sims 4 franchise.

So... today is my birthday and I'm spending it so far literally arguing with my husband about this. First of all, I've never played any of these mentioned games. He has. He's saying this video is a lie. I said you're very clearly not dishonest and your speaking on what you see and what's been brought to your attention. He says, the page for Paralives is still there. "You can even still donate money to their Patreon". That there are still videos and his search with sims shows nothing has been taken down. He's driving me bonkers so I said I would say something here. I went to the Paralives page also, it's fulla stuff but I didn't click on anything because I've not played any of it but will say on my end, it's not a blank page. So none of us understands what is going on but I didn't like him saying this is a lying video.

Not sure if I misspoke in a moment of this video, but it's LIFE BY YOU that removed their videos and *Life by You* was the game that was canceled. NOT Paralives. Paralives was announced several years ago and I only expressed skepticism that it's actually releasing in 2025. I was ribbing them for how long development was taking, basically.
Anyway, it's possible when I was recording I slipped up and *said* "Paralives" when I meant "Life by You" (too lazy to check right now) but I know I had the UA-cam channel of Life by You pulled up in that section of the video soooo. 🤷‍♂️

the difference between Paradox players and EA players is that pradox players don't Praise DLC they don't like, on the contrary, they often complain when pareadox has made a mistake or released something bad. when EA releases a new addon for sims4 its players celebrate even if it breaks the game or even if it just adds a few things to the game.

Honestly in terms of the generative ai tool in inzoi it’s a COMPLETELY optional tool that you can simply opt out of using and use the image upload tool instead. And it’s not the main focus of the game. Other than that the game looks truly promising. I think EA is giving excuses at this point and just wanna milk sims 4 dry. Changing between sims games has NEVER been an issue but EA SUDDENLY cares about the time and money we put into it? I sincerely would just prefer to move on to games like paralives and inzoi at this point. Where the foundations of the games have features that EA would through in game packs.

I didn't hit this point hard enough, but Sims 4 needs more attention now that it's not going to get a proper sequel. IF they invest in fixing and upgrading Sims 4, then this is great news. If they're just going to release more garbage and never address player concerns, then we need Paralives and inZOI to swoop in and correct the market.
Honestly Paralives and inZOI will do that either way haha. But yeah, that's my big regret with this video. I had a lot to say and missed a point I wanted to make, which was Sims 4 is currently pretty broken. I certainly don't want to reward EA by buying a Sims 5 when they've not even given players the respect of fixing Sims 4.
