I was disqualified 37 years ago for failing a random breath test by being 20% over the limit. Therefore I became registered as a criminal. Interestingly I haven't had an accident in 50 years since I passed my driving test in 1974. I recently discovered that my criminal record will continue until my 100th birthday. In a recent episode of Police Interceptors the officers said that any person banned from driving is considered dishonest and untrustworthy. I don't break into houses, rob banks or attack people. However, despite that I am considered to be a criminal and a danger to others until I am 100 years old. Something wrong here with the law. I am a soft hearted gentle man who cares for others but somehow the law thinks I am a dangerous nasty man who hurts people. I therefore conclude that the law is complete madness.
I got my license taken from me this September. I smoked weed the night before and got pulled 16:30 the next day. No dangerous driving, no defaults with the van, mot and taxed yet the police followed me for 15 minutes and found no reason to pull me other than a random pull "because they can now". Failed the test and now have no license. I'm a self employed carpenter with 2 kids and am now a criminal aswell 👍 at the station 2 police officers agreed with me in saying "if your allowed a pint on a Friday night who are the government to say you can't have a joint instead". Absolute joke of a system.
@@riazhussain2333 Speeding is a criminal offence. However, it's not recordable and therefore not recorded on the Police National Computer. You are therefore not classed as a criminal. When your licence points expire you are completely in the clear.

I think we need the money spent on drones for the French coastline to prevent boats leaving but one couldn't really expect the French to prevent them leaving as we are paying them to do. Far more money would be saved by using technology where it's needed most.
Business should be good, Brits usually get drunk more often than other nations. I always blamed the weather but as I learn more about UK I believe it is because of misery and depression caused by the nanny police state.
I love that no one can commit to telling us what these cameras actually look at. What a lot of nonsense this is. How can they possibly 'detect' people on drugs. It makes zero sense.
It doesn't detect people on 'drugs'. It detects driving behaviour conducive to the possibility of being intoxicated, or under the influence of drugs. A roadside drug wipe, or breathalyser is what detects people on drugs, or alcohol.
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work that out lol it will be looking for drifting, swerving, random speed changing etc. Anything that suggests you’re not sober. As they said the cameras can’t actually detect you’re on drugs, but they give a good indicator if police need to stop you further down the road. Got nothing to hide? Got nothing to worry about.
I wonder how much it would improve the safety of drivers in the UK if they actually fixed the roads. I just drove from Dublin to Hamburg this week and do it a few times a year. One theme I notice is the south of the UK is the only place with truly awful roads including motorways. You can see the direct affect of this as its guaranteed that you will see breakdowns and crashes in the UK but it is highly unlikely to see anywhere else on the route. During the summer when I did the drive I seen someone in a Porsche SUV driving on the rim after a puncture because their was no hard shoulder because of a smart (dumb) motorway which made them most likely afraid to stop. Until this tech can be 100% effective in who it selects I don't think it should be used as some drivers could be constantly targeted by these systems because of an unusual driving style. This is not AI but a simple algorithm to detect specific patterns, companies like this are 20-50 years off true AI, they just use the term as a marketing gimmick that seems to have worked here. Saying that people who drink/drug drive are disgusting people.
@@prelovedbargainsandantique2245 I'd expect it would be the same as while driving sober as these incidents are reported after the fact. You would be better off asking directly to GCM to get a more accurate response though. In a just society the person would be able to claim damages while also being arrested for drunk/drug driving.

If only we'd spend as much money on catching other tyies of criminals as we do motorists the country wouod be a safer place. Yes I appreciate motoring offences are still real crimes but stopping a motorists speeding, on a mobile phone or not wearing a seat belt is stopping a potential accident from happening but theres no effort put into catching the vandals damaging property or your car, house breaking or shop lifting, here in Scotland thr police will not pursue quad bikes or off road bikes running riot in housing estates
What a waste of public money, why don't the police put more real time and money into drug crimes a real blight on society, why don't the police have more patrols late at night in built up areas especially pubs where known drug dealers regularly frequent
I’m more interested in how many cars the camera says were likely to be under the influence and how many actually were? Surely this video missed that point by not telling us??
Utter waste of time. This is not about improving the quality of those who drive but just about catching the unaware out. Education of driving should take higher priority over watching waiting for people make mistakes. The driving test in Finland takes significantly longer due to the requirement to know how to driver properly which includes dangers like drink/driving oh and things like, the control of power to the wheels as you drive on unpaved roads. Once again English police fail to address the real issue and instead opt for surveillance telling us it improves safety. Sorry but this just makes me loose confidence in there ability.
It’s about the money. If it wasn’t about the money then they would stop the phone thefts and knife crime. I once got fined for not having a number plate at the front. Even thought the police man can see that it clearly came off and I had just got out of a shop buying scissors and double sided tape which was on the passenger seat.
The people would prefer the police to do their job rather than using technology to give out fines, none of this corrected bad driving. This is dystopian, And I'm amazed you are willing to try and sell this to the public.
They really need Artificial Inteligence due to the lack Inteligence in the average officer. I find it very to drive in a straight these days because of constantly trying to stay out of the ever increasing craters in the roads.
I think taking drink / drug drivers off the road is a good thing. The problem is that the focus on speeding and drink driving means that nothing else is actioned. I drove the length of the M6 last week and the poor and dangerous driving i saw was breath-taking; poor lane discipline, lack of observation, people being mobile chicanes in lanes 2 and 3 doing 50mph, tailgating, overloaded trailers, unsecured loads. Where is the enforcement of these offences? The moment any of us touch 80mph on the motorway, we are getting a ticket and 3 points. The narrow focus of road policing down to speed and drinking driving is a real problem. A genuine question for the Officers; how many accidents are caused by speeding /drinking Vs the number that are caused by poor driving skill? (when i watch any dashcam videos it certainly seems to be the latter )
I drove from Newark to Kettering on the A1 a few weeks ago and most of that road is unlit one driver had no lights at all on their car and it was pitch black. Good job I was looking ahead at 70mph, I can't believe people take the risk.
I’m 100% behind catching drink drivers, and as someone who drives HGV, I’ve noticed the massive increase in people using their mobile phones on their laps, increase the penalty for mobile phone usage, the huge problem I have with this technology is, what data is retained from the cameras, is the data collected stored on a database somewhere and for how long, what is preventing the data from being shared and abused by insurance companies who already share black box data to stealthily increase premiums. How long is it going to be before this technology is abused, are they governed by the data protection laws? Put more real police officers on the roads and stop wasting money on technology that will never match a traffic officer’s instincts.
All the big-name car companies gather your conversations, texts and calls from your car in new vehicles. They do this automatically if you don't opt out. Info from 'The Verge' here: "According to a report published by the Mozilla Foundation, all 25 of the car brands that were researched for the report - including Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW, and Tesla - failed to meet the nonprofit organization’s minimum privacy standards and were found to collect more personal data from customers than necessary. The kind of information collected varies from personal information like medical data to how drivers are using the vehicle itself - such as how fast they drive, where they drive, and even the music they listen to. Both Nissan and Kia are noted to allow the collection of information regarding a user’s sex life. Eighty-four percent of the reviewed car brands share personal user data with service providers, data brokers, and potentially sketchy businesses, according to the report, with 76 percent claiming the right to sell that personal data. Fifty-six percent are willing to share user information with the government and / or law enforcement if requested."
So if the driver is wearing a seat belt and not using a phone etc will it just profile the car make and model? Like the most people that get caught drink/drug driving in a certain model of car ? Then assume that person will be intoxicated because of what car they drive ?
I personally think there a good idea my only problem is since Starmer got in power i really dont trust the police anymore and after seeing what ive seen i dont think i ever will.
People are angry that they can't check their tik tok while driving!!! Stay off your phone while driving, simple as that. It has nothing to do with privacy, you are on public roads .
So stupid the fact it's illegal to use a phone, and the every new car has a screen to control even the heating system.. What ms the difference speaking on a phone, or fiddling with a screen to turn your heating up?
There is also an AI system that identifies corrupt police but it was switched off because the bell rung so often everyone thought a fire engine was coming.
Being as we have been told to make our own way to hospital if we are having g a heart attack recently on the news time is critical, how many people die because of being stopped because their driving under stress maybe a little erratic?
Coming from the same people who believe it's perfectly acceptable to arrest people simply for what they say. I'm sure this is all about our safety, definitely, not a doubt in my mind.🤣
And that's probably a confession that could still land you in trouble as a driving licence holder.. *do a little diggin and you'll see (it's a crazy world we live in)
Well done! Meeting soft tally targets via artificial intelligence software. Shoplifting, robbing pensioners, and serious offenses possibly going unchecked, whilst using AI software and making social media comments could potentially get you locked up. UK 2-tier policing at its finest.
PMSL you will be driving outside of the normal parameters as a traffic officer even when off duty. You will also find that people insured with certain insurers are more likely to be impaired along with driving certain models of car. UNLESS the full model (training data) they are using is disclosed then this could be what they are doing and nothing more (with reference to impairment). The important question is do they have or had access to the MIB and DVLA databases?
It is dangerous having friends sometimes, come on have 1 cigarette or come out & have one drink of alcohol. Next thing your drinking & smoking till your dead or perhaps you stop drinking after you have crashed into someone on the public highway but I think some drivers who have crashed into someone will just be like I need my alcohol & get into a vehicle & start driving whilst over the drink drive limit. When you signed on that dotted line to get your provisional driving licence that ment you will always follow The Highway Code & don't drink alcohol & get in a vehicle & drive. DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT
It’s really straightforward, as the rule says: don’t drink and drive. It’s not just about risking your own life but also endangering other road users. Following this rule helps create a safer environment for everyone on the road. Hopefully, this will reduce the number of accidents and save more lives.
This camera is not about drink driving, it's about spying into your car. "For not wearing seat belts " . Not wearing a seat belt never caused an accident. This country is really turning into a China style big brother house. Of course "it's for your safety "...
Genuine question: Is an AI’s 60% success rate grounds enough to pull a driver? Doesn’t there need to be a reason (I don’t think, “Computer says ‘Yes’!” is, perhaps, good enough…??
UK Govt: 'Let's spend more money policing those who we steal money from to give it to foreigners so we can then say we don't have any money to give back to those who need it most.' UK Public: 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬
Anything that gets drink drivers, drug drivers, phone users, etc., off the road is an excellent thing. I am now 74 and have driven for over 50+ years, various vehicles. Never had an accident, nor speeding fine but sadly seen countless idiots on the road. You can be law abiding but it will not keep you safe from the others.
For me my beautiful car has been crashed into at least once every year for the past two years by older drivers not impaired drivers and they’ve all been insured by ‘Churchill’ 👨🦳 annoyed is an understatement!!
More interesting is how many drugs/alcohol abusers this cameras/AI can't determine (and thats probably a lot) and hence that police shouldn't rely on such unreliable technology and still contiunue to perform routine controls instead.
PRC - Pot Hole Repair Cameras - when I see my taxes paying for those I'll support the local police. When detected, a pothole repair team is helicoptered in, and begin the immediate repair, so that motorists can drive their expensive vehicles on a smooth, safe surface.
That will be the next step for this technology, but as it's in the infancy of usage, these trials are there so that the developers can iron out any faults. Like alluded to in the video, the cameras themselves aren't evidential, or use to prosecute. But merely a tool to detect offending drivers, so that a Constable can use their powers to stop and investigate.
I think they need to put these cameras in the Police Recruitment offices at every interview, it will "ping" at nearly every applicant judging by the amount of bad apples jailed over the last couple of years.
Waste of money and scam. Will cause lots of problems. Stop selling alcohol in shops if you are truly worried about the public. If someone wants alcohol they must make it themselves.
Did that during covid, and used it as screenwash in winter, wow it melts ice on the windscreen so well at 99% proof, makes the car stink of alcohol thought, don't think that would help much here. 😂
I can see how these cameras can detect.: Drivers not wearing their seat belts. Drivers using their phones while driving. Drivers drinking or eating while driving. But without actually pulling the driver over, how can it reliably tell if someone's been drink driving? Now I don't drink due to medication, over 5 years now, what happens if false flags me for drink driving?.
As a biker anything that gets distracted drivers off the road gets the thumbs up from me! Personally as a completely legal rider and driver I have absolutley no problem being pulled over for a stop check. I can't help but think those who don't like this don't want the attention. I'd much rather this system than average speed cameras which only punish those over the speed limit!
Are there "Parameters" published anywhere publicly available for us road users to interrogate/review ourselves, Like up in a Github repository? where we can see the logic/criteria for your AI-modeling Or is this a case of "Well, computer says no" so we just pulled you over..
I like the comment about being responsible for other road users. Even though it doesn't detect alcohol, it should now make it easier to catch drunk drivers. At the moment, I believe that the majority of the people that do drink and drive do it because there is little chance of being caught. I've known people do it for years before they get caught. It sounds like a brilliant piece of kit.
I like this channel I really do, but I draw the line at cameras looking into you cars AI or not, cars are a personal space and it should remain so. I don't use my mobile phone while driving, I never have and I also hate it when people use their phones while driving, but I don't agree with cameras looking inside your vehicle.

I've had to go to court for a speeding offence and got 6 points. Would I be classed as a criminal too?
They just want to prosecute everyone, they want a police state where people's freedom and liberty are no longer relevant.
It's not about safety, it is about control. Not of the corrupt government, or the police who never pay for their crimes. It's about controlling the people who might one day wake up and insist on self governance, in caring communities without overreach and filth that we have had previously.
Calm down
I concur
Who's watching them?
So it doesn't detect anything, just gives the law another excuse to pull people over
💯💯
Electronic assault weapons.. These are not cameras.. How stupid are the cops.. The damage to eye sight is well documented from this technology and breaches several laws.. The POLICE are breaking the law.
What percentage of the people you pulled over ended up having committed an offence ? It would be interesting to see some stats.
Hardly any.
Submit a FOI request to the force in question, and see what comes back.
I would bet their error rate was statistically significant.
So far mobile phone and seatbelts lol this is ridiculous
Just stop people having cars thats how its going towards

United British Emirates
Get onto car theft and stop punishing the legit drivers... bunch of clowns. All about fines and money our country 😴 yet people getting stabbed and shit on a daily
So this will help with the fifteen minute/fifteen mile zones or the pay per mile, which they said would never happen 🤔 eyes 👀 open people 😉
Folks getting brainwashed into thinking these cameras are a good idea. The first thing they say is it’s for safety
Take the tin foil hat off fella, it's not good for the grey matter.
@@baron5747 neithers ignorance...
No need for police then .

What a load of planted sanctimonious patronising utterances.
I know on the surface this looks like a great idea, but it's just another step closer to AI owning humans.
That ex police lady sounded like she hasnt got anything going on in her head 😂
I take it you didn't realise that everything is removed from their heads at police training college 🤣🤣

I think we need the money spent on drones for the French coastline to prevent boats leaving but one couldn't really expect the French to prevent them leaving as we are paying them to do. Far more money would be saved by using technology where it's needed most.
Is it any good at detecting corrupt Police
Business should be good, Brits usually get drunk more often than other nations. I always blamed the weather but as I learn more about UK I believe it is because of misery and depression caused by the nanny police state.
Brilliant...hope they design something to detect cars or passengers are carrying guns and knives next...This would be fantastic...
No chance, no money to be made from that
I love that no one can commit to telling us what these cameras actually look at.
@@baron5747 But they don't even tell us what behaviour it's looking for. That's why it's nonsense.
Just a load of bs to hide the fact they are taking away our freedoms becoming a police state .
@@baron5747 what sort of driving behaviour does it detect ? i can't think how it will detect a drunk or drugged driver
If I drive while high but while driving I hit a pothole, crash and the crash causes harm then who is to blame? Me or the state?
@@prelovedbargainsandantique2245 I'd expect it would be the same as while driving sober as these incidents are reported after the fact. You would be better off asking directly to GCM to get a more accurate response though. In a just society the person would be able to claim damages while also being arrested for drunk/drug driving.
A good driver can easily deal with the a few potholes without crashing.
@@anonymous-driver143 I was on a back country road in portsmouth area during the year. Once the pothole was filled with water it was no possible to see. I damaged the face of my wheel slightly because it scraped off the edge of the pothole. No where else along my route would I need to worry about things like this because other places have competent councils looking after issues like this.
@@anonymous-driver143 What about the porsche driver that died while avoiding the pot hole earlier in the year near petworth.
I want to know how many people you pulled over that was absolutely fine
you can do a FOI request for that
The things that's going on on this country and these bafoons are putting their hearts and souls into catching people not wearing seat belts
I don't have a problem with this technology .... BUT I do have a problem with the trustworthiness of the Police !!
The way people drive nowadays, the cameras will flag almost every driver 😂
For our " safety" of course
I’m more interested in how many cars the camera says were likely to be under the influence and how many actually were? Surely this video missed that point by not telling us??
Trialled it over the course of one evening and deem that a suitable test, wtf
Guys we need to rise up against these cameras. The more angle grinders we use the less we see of these cash schemes.
This is dystopian,
And I'm amazed you are willing to try and sell this to the public.
Wonder what the waze warning for these will say. "Safety camera ahead"?
They was using a AI camera on the m1 outside Luton services a while ago, after a few weeks it was reported as a speed camera
Great another system that can have the thresholds tampered with to suit.
They really need Artificial Inteligence due to the lack Inteligence in the average officer. I find it very to drive in a straight these days because of constantly trying to stay out of the ever increasing craters in the roads.
He would shop his own mother.
Yet another step towards total control
Did ya happen to notice what nationality those camera engineers were? Tells you everything
Its about raising revenue nothing to do with road safety
Info from 'The Verge' here:
"According to a report published by the Mozilla Foundation, all 25 of the car brands that were researched for the report - including Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW, and Tesla - failed to meet the nonprofit organization’s minimum privacy standards and were found to collect more personal data from customers than necessary.
Theyll be able to flag number plates then youll never be left alone.
Ex Amb service. More power to you. Got sick of pulling dead people out of wrecks because of alcohol and substance abuse.
True
So if the driver is wearing a seat belt and not using a phone etc will it just profile the car make and model? Like the most people that get caught drink/drug driving in a certain model of car ? Then assume that person will be intoxicated because of what car they drive ?
Drive a rare kit car lol
I personally think there a good idea my only problem is since Starmer got in power i really dont trust the police anymore and after seeing what ive seen i dont think i ever will.
People are angry that they can't check their tik tok while driving!!! Stay off your phone while driving, simple as that. It has nothing to do with privacy, you are on public roads .
Just a way to make more money
Well if people didn't drive whilst under the influence of drugs, or alcohol. There would be no money to make?.
So stupid the fact it's illegal to use a phone, and the every new car has a screen to control even the heating system..
What ms the difference speaking on a phone, or fiddling with a screen to turn your heating up?
With the amount of terrible drivers on the roads these days the system could end up identifying the occasional good ones.
There is also an AI system that identifies corrupt police but it was switched off because the bell rung so often everyone thought a fire engine was coming.
😂😂😂 just like tv detector Van's, counter intelligence 😂😂
What was the failure rate, and how many innocent people had their time violated in these unlawful stops?
Being as we have been told to make our own way to hospital if we are having g a heart attack recently on the news time is critical, how many people die because of being stopped because their driving under stress maybe a little erratic?
Coming from the same people who believe it's perfectly acceptable to arrest people simply for what they say. I'm sure this is all about our safety, definitely, not a doubt in my mind.🤣
For the first time in history, the police have had intelligence in the force
I cycled back from the pub last night with my friend. We were over the alcohol driving limit.
Not something to be proud of.
And that's probably a confession that could still land you in trouble as a driving licence holder.. *do a little diggin and you'll see (it's a crazy world we live in)
That could earn you a ban on your driving license, your still in charge of a vehicle.
DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT
George..Orwell?
👍
It’s really straightforward, as the rule says: don’t drink and drive. It’s not just about risking your own life but also endangering other road users. Following this rule helps create a safer environment for everyone on the road. Hopefully, this will reduce the number of accidents and save more lives.
This camera is not about drink driving, it's about spying into your car. "For not wearing seat belts " . Not wearing a seat belt never caused an accident. This country is really turning into a China style big brother house. Of course "it's for your safety "...
This technology will be used to restrict your freedom
Naaaaah.......The thresholds can be tampered with on this technology. Its about control and making pennies.
Government over reach the public are getting sick of these lying control freaks.
Genuine question: Is an AI’s 60% success rate grounds enough to pull a driver? Doesn’t there need to be a reason (I don’t think, “Computer says ‘Yes’!” is, perhaps, good enough…??
UK Govt: 'Let's spend more money policing those who we steal money from to give it to foreigners so we can then say we don't have any money to give back to those who need it most.'
UK Public: 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬
Where will they find the money when there are no cars left on the roads!
Tought by one of the best driving instructors me, he told me a little advice which was always drive defensive incase of other peoples stupid actions.
@@damoblake6000 Very true! I tend to drive anticipating what others could do rather than will do.
For me my beautiful car has been crashed into at least once every year for the past two years by older drivers not impaired drivers and they’ve all been insured by ‘Churchill’ 👨🦳 annoyed is an understatement!!
never had an accident , seen thousands !
Does it detect cars that are not MOT worthy eg lights not working ? Seems to be an increase in questionable cars on the road these days.
Hopefully the ulez oads will take care of these 1984 spycams
I think they need to put these cameras in the Police Recruitment offices at every interview, it will "ping" at nearly every applicant judging by the amount of bad apples jailed over the last couple of years.
ENGLAND HAS FALLEN 😢
I totally support keeping impaired drivers off the roads.
Not so sure I support these devices being marked "highway maintenance" though.
To sumerise, those cameras don't work and are a waste of money
Spend the money on fixing roadsx lighting and signs.
Sorry but no one supports this
people want officers who are connected to their communities, not just enforcers sitting in cars and waiting for AI-driven alerts.
Its lazy too.
I can see how these cameras can detect.:
Drivers not wearing their seat belts.
What about when they ban your motorbike because they can't see your face?
Are there "Parameters" published anywhere publicly available for us road users to interrogate/review ourselves, Like up in a Github repository? where we can see the logic/criteria for your AI-modeling Or is this a case of "Well, computer says no" so we just pulled you over..
i would like to know how many people where stopped and what was the percentage charged, and how many where found to be "legally driving".
What was the result of this operation? How accurate and reliable was the AI
Orwell 1984 is here
