Reed made my childhood. I loved watching storm hunter back in the days. Good memories with my dad. Thank you for that. Youre not only a storm chaser. You are a legend. We need you. Love from germany
My son is at Fort Moore Army base in Georgia. It's right outside Columbus. I will be watching you Reed to keep updated. I will be praying for everyone who is gonna get impacted by this storm. Never stop chasing.
With the fugiwhara effect and the dome of high pressure off the coast this monster should hightail northward quickly but this also means Helene will travel well inland. Helene has the potential to become catastrophic so everyone in the path needs to be preparing now! Don’t just be paying attention to the category of this storm, she means business and should be taken serious; stay safe out there everyone ✌🏻
We here in the Albany, GA area really need the rain but no flooding or tornadoes...please! How's your darling Gizmo doing? I hope she's good. Such a QT PIE! ❤
Thank you Reed for your continued watch and updates on all of these storms. I trust you most of all, your experience & knowledge gives me confidence in everything you say. Be safe 🙏🙏🙏
Reed was first to predict Ian landfall at Fort Myers Beach. He set up his surge monitor on a light pole. I think it washed away. The area needs another couple of years to recover.
Thanks for the coverage, Reed! My wife and I have been watching you a lot recently and this is the first time you've been reporting on something that is personally relevant to us! I live in the North Georgia area in a few weeks I'm going down to the Gulf of Mexico so I'm going to be keeping my eyes and ears here for updates! Be safe out there everyone!
Thank you Reed for your coverage..I am aos worried about my son and family in stone my georgia just above Atlanta, Can you comment on that please? i am a senior citizen that sufferes from extreme anxiety and I am going nuts! have a safe trip chasing sending hugs from your adopted gram in Ct xo
Ma'am, I'm obviously not Reed but I am someone who's followed weather very closely for the better part of 3 decades now and I can fill you in on what the latest forecast is. First off, I take it you meant Stone Mountain. If so then here's what I found on what your son's family can expect in relation to any severe weather impacts. It's important to keep in mind that this could change for the better or worse, but I highly doubt that any changes will be dramatically different than what's currently forecast, for better or worse, respectively. Again, as it looks for right now, their main window of highest concern should come THU late evening into the early am hours of FRI. That is when they can expect some pretty windy conditions with sustained MPH winds in the mid to high 40's. It's possible that there could be some random gusts of up to 60 MPH during this time frame as well. This is nothing but my own personal opinion here but I'd say it's around a 50/50 chance they could lose power during this time frame. Those winds (any 60 MPH gusts) are more than enough to bring down larger limbs along with any weak or damaged trees. This is also my own opinion here but I'd say their biggest overall threat might be the total amount of rain they receive throughout the course of the 2-3 days of potentially, nearly non-stop rainfall. They could easily end up with totals around 6-8", which at times might cause flash flooding but at those total amounts would almost certainly see flooding of any larger creeks and/or rivers into early next week. As long as they're prepared for the potential of a power outage, and hopefully don't have any worrisome trees or large limbs that might impact their home, and most importantly (imo), if they don't live in a flood-prone area then I'd say this shouldn't be anything to give that much worry over. If they're prepared and know what to expect then they might even find a way to turn this storm into a very memorable experience, and I mean that in a good way. I hope that maybe some of this helped ease at least a little bit of your anxiety.
Hey good to see you Reed. My daughter happen to be behind you on her way home from work. Lol! She said you waved her to go around due to the work traffic. She was tickled. 😊 Be safe! 🎉
Do you think the cone will shift eastward since most of the models like gfs and hmon are agreeing that it will go eastward like Tampa into southeast GA
Thank you for the timely update on Tropical Storm Helene. It’s crucial for everyone in the affected areas to stay informed and prepared. I recently created a video discussing some safety tips and resources for those facing storm conditions. Every bit of information helps, and I appreciate the efforts to keep the public updated during such critical times. ~ SunnySparksTV
We have had hurricane force wind guest in TN higher elevations before from fast moving tropical systems. I specifically remember one from back in the 1990s. It might have been Opal.
This looks to reach category 3 or possibly 4, which means NHI will call it a category 5 or even call it the biggest and baddest ever category 6. Wait and see.
Cedar keys needs a break , a they just lost businesses to fire the other day an haven’t rebuilt from the last bad one that hit . Prayers to them . I live a little over a hour from them . Love Cedar Keys such a little gem , we go there to watch dolphins in the water . I hope it doesn’t get bad as you think it will .
Live in North GA, this looks like it might be as bad as the aftermath of Michael when it went through a few years ago. We had 60+ mph winds, lots of trees down.
You do know that satellite data has been messed up since 2014, don't you? Remove the layering data and you might be able to see more accurately. All weather mapping data is useless since April 2014 when layering was enlisted. Remove it

Prayers for everyone in the track.
Reed is the goat, Fujiwara effect, size, possible strength, way ahead of the game... his report a few days ago is like seeing into the future.

Seems like the models aren't as aggressively intense. Seems only the Hwrf and the Hmon have it sub 960. That's a relief
Don't underestimate this one.
