The P One Edition benefits from years of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and F1 racing technology to take driving dynamics to their most extreme, a fact best demonstrated in its formidable M178 twin-turbocharged 4.0L V-8 engine. Developed exclusively for the GT Black Series, it drives a thundering 720 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque through an AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission to an AMG limited-slip differential via a carbon fiber torque tube.
An intricate matrix of AMG-designed engine, suspension, ride control, braking and aerodynamic controls interacts to maximize the M178’s colossal output, beginning with dry sump oiling, performance exhaust and dynamic engine and transmission mounts. AMG Dynamic Select enables a choice of five different driving modes with adjustments to the car’s AMG forged dual wishbone coilover suspension with AMG Ride Control adaptive adjustable damping. AMG’s own high-performance ceramic composite disc brakes balance the P One Edition’s race-bred performance with breathtaking stopping power.
