    A family friend went there last year, a particular 67 chevelle he was interested in came up for auction, he bid, but lost to another buyer, this family friend"s father tracked down the buyer of that Chevelle, he bought it for 10,000 over what the guy paid for it at the auction. The family friend had a birthday last fall and his father surprised him with the Chevelle he lost at the auction, After getting it home and upon closer inspection, the build was obviously a quick flip it for a profit deal, rode terrible, a really pretty paint job sure covered up all the flaws that car had, he paid 60,000 for a car that was maybe worth 20,000 tops, you gotta be careful buying anything at an auction

    Mecum squeezes the middle 10% buyer fee, 5% seller fee. A cool place to look at cars and bikes, occasionally a good buy mid-week.

    • @bullpencycles

    Great job on presenting the vibe and feeling. Even when one tries to do diligent homework beforehand, then the action and distractions begins. Takes discipline and restraint.
    And gawd knows whats happening with online plus potentially the auction house can bid to sale for the consignor.
    Goofy cost for bidder paddle. Then top it off buyers premium, taxes, etc.

    I believe a proper deal is where buyer and seller alike are both happy and can shake hands on an honest deal. not where the auction company holds the buyers hole open so the seller can stick it in right up to the elbow. Many models are now out of reach to average enthusiasts because of this. If you see a UA-camr saying Auctions are GREAT, they getting PAID

Noticed that the seat and the engine color is different on both along with a lot of other small items. Those were not produced in 87. Same with the 350 X, produced an 85 and 86 in the US or for the US market.

    What I know about high-end auto auctions they are geared and they are catering to the wealthy if you want the best you're going to pay the most if you were looking at a thousand-dollar Bultaco motorcycle it could end up costing you $20,000 or even 30,000 I saw a Kawasaki 900 go through with 53,000 that raises the value of those motorcycles on that one sale if you got the money go to where you'll spend it otherwise you're better off beating around and beating the bushes looking for bargains going to bike shows going to flea markets don't go to these high-end auctions but you will get high quality and you will pay double retail and sometimes even triple retail pay up or don't go there

      Over 40 years ago, State of ILL selling dealers had C.O. (cert of origin), required buyer info and processing fees collected to get a title, even on dirt / enduros. Then for used, the often problem was lost titles. Seller were to get a replaced title (or) buyer could get a reissue from B.Sale and put up a specified sum bond. Though most young fellows said screw it, and paid cash for a dirt bike, with bill of sale. They'd lose that too. Rinse and repeat. Lol

    • @bullpencycles
      @bullpencycles  8 місяців тому +1

      Well, yes. technically that is the law. Anything bought or sold in Florida is supposed to have a title. Except some states did not issue titles for road bikes back in the old days. Most states did not issue titles for off-road bikes until the mid-2000s. So now most states require titles - but won't always issue them if you have insufficient documentation. Thats why it's important to always check the status. These antique bikes create a huge problem when it comes to compliance.
