I just have all kinds of respect for the way you answer questions, even the hard ones that would make anybody feel crappy, you stay so composed and respectful with everything you do live and on your vlogs and have not changed one thing about yourself like so many other vloggers have. You are the most raw, real, compassionate and understanding person and your kids are thriving and beautiful and they are all going to change the world we live in because you are helping so many to understand and accept that we are all different and that’s what makes us uniquely who we are. I am so proud of you and Lonnie Stephanie truly and feel so blessed to be apart of the landing crew.
Guilty of saying this :-( The latter at least. I didn`t know it was offensive. Only yesterday I had lunch with a friend who`s family is struggling really hard because of his younger son`s autism, and when he recommended to have my little Noah tested for autism spectrum because of some sensory and other stuff, that was my reply - "everybody`s different" and does everybody have to be able to handle being in a noisy, crowded room for hours and still feel comfortable? I also told him we`d known each other for almost two decades, yet I never told him I struggled with sensory overload due to synesthesia myself, tried to keep it hidden and didn`t have a name for it until a few years ago. To me, this phrase brings to mind families in my foster to adopt classes who were saying they were ready to adopt a baby who`s parents both had a mental disability, because everybody`s different anyways (and they followed through with it). So to me it has a very accepting connotation. Do you feel like people who say this are belittling the struggle of raising a child with autism? Like, well your child has autism but mine has dyscalculia?
Would saying for example 'he/she has traits that can overlap with autism' be a better way to describe someone who has some similar struggles but is not autistic? I find figuring out what language to use super awkward. I was diagnosed with autism as a child and am possibly in some ways (according to people I'm closest to and the prognosis I was given as a child) close to being what researchers call an 'optimal outcome', especially in the social aspect of autism (though I struggle with change still and have some sensory issues/social anxiety). I feel like no matter what words I use to describe myself someone is going to get offended.
@@Jlk6532 I think the problem is that many people use 'everyone's a little bit autistic' as an excuse to not take their child to see a professional when they're really struggling. It can also be really invalidating to say that to someone who's trying to open up to you about their or their child's diagnosis. I do get your frustration though. I'm at this really awkward in-between stage where I was diagnosed as autistic as a child, but I'm close to what researchers like to call an 'optimal outcome', yet I still struggle at least slightly in all the boxes. It doesn't matter what words I use to describe myself, someone always gets offended and I'm getting pretty sick of it tbh. Anything is better than 'everybody is a little bit autistic' though as unfortunately it's often the favourite line of someone trying to gaslight autistic people.

I grew up with a vocal stim, I was picked on, even by family, about it...I learned to hide it and only do it when I was alone. After marrying a man who is autistic, and unofficially diagnosed (the kids doctor mentioned my husband's autism in a visit), I feel better stimming at home...but it is also, not socially acceptable. I feel ya girl.
I’m very happy that you help scientists to come up with more clues about what is happening from a genetic point of view. I’m so happy you moved and you got so much help, completely deserving and necessary here in Scotland everybody have that opportunity and is very important.
Another great video Stephanie! Very well put together. Thank you for this information & for all you do for us! Also you looked so pretty, I love your curly hair & you look great in blue I must say. 💙
I never let anyone tell mommy ADHD boy could not do anything. Whatever he had a problem with we would help him practice and learn. We broke up lessons into very short chunks, rewarded with play and approval and repeated until the issue was learned. We practiced "meditation" in Jr. High. It was simply sitting quietly with a goal time. Hisxacademicsxwere fine. He learned well but he was distracted. He eventually learned how to overcome his physical delay. He has a 5th degree black belt in Kung Fu and he was a ranked swing dancer professional. He worked hard for his successes but he had them. He was able to be mainstreamed at school but his social development took longer. Much longer. But he is doing very well in hid 50s. He learned eye contact. He learned to smile in a specific way that is usually interpreted as kind and sweet. He learned what he needs and uses it but also learned he cannot have a T.V. in the house, he has to concentrate when he drives so no music or conversation. Certainly no phone or texting. He does need medication when he works but not when home. He has come a very long way. Your kids will too. Do not let anyone tell you that any specific thing cannot bemastered. Just quietly and slowly work on tasks in short bits and pieces with positive affection and approval. Your kids are adorable and happy from what you have shown.
I have watched your channel for a long time and never commented before but I just wanted to say you are a great mum. Your children are precious and so well loved ( I can see that) 😘❤️😘❤️
My husband definitely has traits of autism although more in the lines is aspbergers, and I have a learning disability that effects how I process information when learning. However we both function completely normal and both of us have normal intellectual functioning. Our son James has mild autism and also adhd he was tested when he was diagnosed, I'm not sure how in-depth the testing was but his test showed completely normal genetics.
My husband is a super successful man ( graduated from Harvard ) and I seriously feel like he prob has high functioning autism that was never diagnosed I just see little signs here and there that make me wonder if that makes since
Moments With Morgan yeah for sure autism is so much more easily diagnosed these days. When our husbands were young they most likely wouldn’t have been diagnosed ecspecially if they were so mild in their symptoms.
It’s honestly so interesting how genetics work. It would be so interesting for more research to be put into what causes Autism because I’ve heard of multiple families now where are the parents both ended up having Autism that went undiagnosed. It makes me so happy that children are getting diagnosed more frequently and are able to get help early rather than just having to deal with it
andreana irvin yes! And so many different ways to be. So many things can be atypical and yet a person can still live a full and happy life. It’s beautiful to me that we are such a range of ways of being.

You have a new subscriber. You have been an inspiration as my 4 year old son is awaiting his official asd diagnosis it's been a long journey for us. Asd is all new to me as a mother as my older children dont have asd. At the moment for me and my son is one big learning adventure. We have been going through the asd process for around 18 months but I guess it's different timescales in different countries as am in the uk. Hope you and your family are all well x
It's so crazy how different you look with curly vs straight hair. Its def not a bad different either, I love your hair color and just when did Penelope get that Ted tint? When I seen the thumbnail I said Self Nellie's hair is normally blonde but wow at her having that gorgeous hair color also!! I'm so glad yall are doing good and I absolutely love you and your family!!!
You explained all of this so well! My brother is also on the spectrum (as well as other family members & many suspected), so I found this really interesting and insightful! :)
So early! Happy to see your updates! Just so happy for all of the good news and can’t wait to see all the great progress your children are going to make!
My son has the similar abnormalities as lex and nellie 15 and 16. My daughter has a microdeletion on 15. She has ADD, but is not diagnosed on the spectrum. My son is very affected and non-verbal. I didnt talk until I was 4.(my parents thought i was just shy which sounds crazy to me) I have adhd, add, dislexia, and crippling social anxiety. After my children were diagnosed and i learned about the genetics, I was like ohhhhhhhhhhhhh makes sense😂 maybe the mutations link back to one person thousands of years ago and we are somehow related. See you at thanksgiving😏
I have 4 kids with 3q26.32 microdeletion along with dad. One is autism level 3 and other 3 have level 1 autism plus one has suspected ataxia and other suspected ehler danlos.
Maybe the 16 has to do with feeding, because if I remember correctly isn't Liam one of your best eaters? Then Lex was selective and Nellie has the feeding issues (I haven't been around long enough to hear if Noah did too)
That was a very fascinating video. Thank you for the info. I have a child with many food allergies and struggles in school. I had a doctor today suggest that she be evaluated for autism or adhd. It’s hard to hear. You are a strong lady!

How do i request a chromosome testing? I have 2 children on the spectrum. My daughter seems typical to me but thanks to her diagnosis my son got the help he needed because of having a sister in the spectrum. When he turned 3 he was diagnosed with Autism. The area that is most affected for my son is the speech. I would love to have my children tested to see if there is abnormalities on their chromosomes.
Hello, I'm in FL also and have one kiddo who is diagnosed and another who confuses everyone. My kids are on the cms ins plan. We're you able to get the tests you did in FL covered? I have a younger one with some delays too but very different and wondering if there is a way to get us all tested.
Regards to the older two kids, I’m under the impression that Lonnie, the husband , is only the bio dad of Lonnie, the oldest son and the oldest child has a different dad. If that is true, then it is the genetic offspring of those two only, (Lonnie and Stephanie ) . So only Lonnie Junior has escaped any manifestation of genetic problems .
I havent had either of my kids gene's checked yet. My son is 2 and is currently getting treatment for ASD. My eldest is on the spectrum but mostly sensory prone. I also have adhd and my husband has add. I also was dyslexic and a slow learner in school.

The doctors and technology. I know that the LORD has blessed us in so many ways. Keep standing strong for your family! Ya'll are very blessed indeed!!
Lex’s therapist is fantastic. I’m so glad you found the services your kids need ❤️ also, way to go Nellie!!! I’ve never been so happy to watch someone eat banana
Thank you, I think you did a great job answering these questions!! Have a good weekend!!
You too Sara!
Your hair is on point !!
Love today’s video. My children’s doctor offered it to us but I told them I would wait a bit. Now I really want to get them tested! My daughter got her diagnosis this year before her 10th birthday :)
Thanks for your clear explanation on Genetics , it’s true that any deviation doesn’t necessarily means this or that, it just establishes connection. Your hair looks lovely like that!
Please dotn ever be sorry for having feeling you are human it is beyond clear that you are an amaizng mother who lives her kids unconditionally and does absolutely everything out of love for them and tried to get them as much help as possible but you too are human and are aloud to be sad! Your needs matter too and it is absolutely hard being a parent in general give yourself a break and ignore anyone who tries to twist your feeling that are absolutely valid and in no way came across that you loved her less or ever would or any of yoir kids for that matter💕
She’s progressed so quickly.
I took notice to your curly hair because usually it’s straight and you look so pretty with those curls I love it!! 💁🏽♀️🥰
thank you for having such a good scientific viewpoint about your children. It's so so important.
Her little stim with the marker!!! That was so cute 🥺
No regrets! Yes! You go Stephanie! They are amazing children, you guys are amazing parents and most importantly they are so happy and so loved!!! ❤️
We have so much in common its unreal. I wish we could be mom friends. 😭
It makes me so happy that children are getting diagnosed more frequently and are able to get help early rather than just having to deal with it
I find genetics fascinating, there is so much goes into our bodies working and developing and science working out how stuff work is so cool.
andreana irvin yes! And so many different ways to be. So many things can be atypical and yet a person can still live a full and happy life. It’s beautiful to me that we are such a range of ways of being.
@@edvh88 I'm the nerd that tells my dad about all the lasted research in really random rare conditions and discoveries in medical science. Even though I have no medical background I like to follow foundations who do research and such.
Omg I screamed when I saw her take a big bite of that banana.. also Noah is a rockstar reader !
I have a genetic condition. My geneticist at Mayo Clinic said was genetic not hereditary. That being said, each of my daughters have physical issues....none as severe as mine. But, they got a few things....I’m sad, but honestly, nothing is a guarantee.....my parents never believed me with my pain, etc growing up. My husband pushed for help when we got married 25 years ago.
I love your hair curly!!
I just love your videos. You are just amazing. Your kids are blessed to have you and your husband as there parents. 🌸 Loved Penelope mermaid outfits.😊
Your hair looks amazing down Stephanie 😍
You are such a blessing Steph!❤ God has given you this platform to help others and Ik your road is hard but He’s blessed you with strength and humility and a love like no other for your children and others walking the same road as you.
Another amazingly factual video, Stephanie u are so inspirational ❤️ x
You guys seem so content since your move. I'm so genuinely happy for you all!
Noah's reading is improving so much! Go Noah!
Also, it's been said, but your hair looks awesome in this video!
As always, thanks for explaining this. Random thought: when you started to say "at the end of the video..." my brain filled it in with "we'll show you the belly shot!" 😂😂😂😂 (I've seen your pregnancy updates a lot lol)
I loved watching the therapist with your boy loved Noah reading!!!
I loved seeing your son in therapy :) can I ask what type of therapy the therapist was doing? Thanks!
ABA
@@OurLANDingCrew8 thanks! I was curious because this is close to exactly how I work with our son on learning important things!!
i have Duplication 17p13.3 didnt know until i had my daughter test a few years ago and my daughter has Duplication 17p13.3 and deletion 17q23.2 we dont know any one who has been tested the same as us not even information on it much we do alot of therapy its every week you are doing amazing love watching you xo sending my love from Australia
I started watching your videos recently and have to say I love your energy, honesty and your family is adorable. Thank you for educating me on autism.
And I love how you are rocking your curls.
My daughter has autism too. I love you and your videos. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for explaining it in a way I could understand !
Hey Stephanie your kids are just so adorable ❤️
Love all your good information, clear explanations and positive energy. You are such a good mom!!
You're such a great mom! Love your family 💓
So early! Happy to see your updates! Just so happy for all of the good news and can’t wait to see all the great progress your children are going to make!
You and your family are amazing. Thank you for these videos about your family!
Literally you used the perfect song for those sweet babies in the beginning!!!
Maybe the 16 has to do with feeding, because if I remember correctly isn't Liam one of your best eaters? Then Lex was selective and Nellie has the feeding issues (I haven't been around long enough to hear if Noah did too)
That's interesting, I didn't think of it like that! I am curious to see what comes up on our genetics appt on the 23rd
Thanks for sharing! Love your hair today! It’s beautiful!
Stephanie u are a great mother to your sons and daughters.
Thank you. That was so educational. I seriously. Needed that.
That was a very fascinating video. Thank you for the info. I have a child with many food allergies and struggles in school. I had a doctor today suggest that she be evaluated for autism or adhd. It’s hard to hear. You are a strong lady!
Anyone know how you get these genetics tested?
Your hair looks really good! I love it🥰
Just started the video so ill probably edit more but I love that your hair is getting curly again. I remember you had used one of danielles shampoos and u said u lost ur curls for a while
The mermaid outfit on nellie is so cute
Do you ever feel your oldest son may be super high functioning? He reminds me of my brother who has high functioning asd well back when he was diagnosed it was asperger's he was in advance classes as well
Lonnie Jr? No, we have never been concerned with him. Lex? Possibly.
@@OurLANDingCrew8 I ment middle son and just remember he is borderline was speaking about lex. Is your oldest Lonnie jr a adult now? I just had to go look on your channel didnt even know about him. I knew about your oldest daughter noah lex liam and nellie.
@@tarzan_mommy1931 Lonnie Jr is a year or so younger than Danielle. It goes Danielle, Lonnie Jr, Noah, Lex, Liam and Nelly. Lonnie Jr doesn't like being filmed, so he's not on the vlogs much.
This is random but your hair looks great ! Are you using the Curly Girl products and system?
No, I just was too lazy to straighten it LOL
Hello, I'm in FL also and have one kiddo who is diagnosed and another who confuses everyone. My kids are on the cms ins plan. We're you able to get the tests you did in FL covered? I have a younger one with some delays too but very different and wondering if there is a way to get us all tested.
They are covered but the wait lists were years long.
Your hair looks amazing in this video!
