Thanks for watching my video. I gathered all the videos I shot at this concert in a UA-cam playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLwdc0qZNx0tZebgvnH9KZStkKvu_qy5Tk.html. The songs are Sadie, Only Skin, In California, The Things I Say, Sapokanikan, Time As A Symptom, Anecdotes, Good Intentions Paving Company, and Peach Plum Pear. Enjoy!
I don't think I could possibly ever thank you enough for these recordings. I live in a part of the world where my chances of seeing Joanna live are near to none. These recordings are an absolute blessing!
Hi Maliha, your comment made my day. This is exactly why I love shooting concert videos and sharing them here. Stay safe and healthy during these crazy times. Best wishes, Tim
I come to this performance over and over again. It breaks my heart that I couldn't get time off of work to go from my sad third world country and see Joanna live during this performance in SFO. Given all the BS we've been through this year, it makes me regret not being there even more. Thank you for uploading!
Wow, this is a much more relaxed vocal than the performance from Austin City Limits. I love that performance, but by comparison, this just sounds so effortless and fun.
Twenty miles left to the show. Hello, my old country, Hello. Stars are just beginning to appear, And I have never, in my life, Before been here. And it's my heart, not me, Who cannot drive, At which conclusion you arrived, Watching me sit here, bolt upright, And cry for no good reason At the Eastering sky, And the tilt of this strange nation, And the will to remain for the duration (Waving the flag, Feeling it drag). Like a bump on a bump on a log, baby; Like I'm in a fistfight with the fog, baby; Step, ball-change, and a pirouette! And I regret How I said to you, Honey, just open your heart, When I've got trouble Even opening a honey jar. And that, right there, is where we are. I've been fessing, double-fast, Addressing questions nobody asked. I'll get this joy off of my chest, at last, And I will love you Till the noise has long since passed. I did not mean to shout. Just drive. Just get us out, dead of alive. The road's too long to mention-- Lord, it's something to see!-- Laid down by the Good Intentions Paving Company, All the way to the thing We've been playing at, darling. I can see that you're wearing Your staying-hat, darling. For the time being, all is well. Won't you love me a spell? This is blindness beyond all conceiving, While, behind us, the road is leaving And leaving, and falling back Like a rope gone slack. Well, I saw straightaway That the lay was steep, But I feel for you, honey, Easy as falling asleep. And that, right there, Is the course I keep. And no amount of talking Is going to soften the fall, But, like after the rain, Step out of the overhang. That's all. It had a nice ring to it, When the old opry house rang, So, with a solemn auld lang Syne, sealed, delivered, I sang. And there is hesitation, And it always remains (Concerning you, me, And the rest of the gang), And in our quiet hour, I feel I see everything, And am in love With the hook Upon which everyone hangs. And I know you meant To show the extent To which you gave a goddang-- You ranged real hot and real cold, But I'm sold. I am at home on that range. And I do hate to fold, Right here, at the top of my game, When I've been trying With my whole heart and soul To stay right here, in the right lane. But it can make you feel over, and old (Lord, you know it's a shame), When I only want for you to pull over And hold me, Till I can't remember my own name.
Hi Tchirunrun, I wish I did! She played that right after I recorded "Only Skin," and I was recuperating from holding perfectly still for 16+ minutes. :) Here are the 9 songs I managed to capture, in case you're curious: ua-cam.com/play/PLwdc0qZNx0tZebgvnH9KZStkKvu_qy5Tk.html
Hi Jacob, it's a Sony DSC-HX99. Not perfect by any means, but it fits in your pocket, can shoot 4K videos of 5 minutes in length (but not a second more), records in high-fidelity Dolby stereo, and comes with a 30x optical zoom. Normally when I'm zoomed in as much as this video, I get a bit of blur with the slightest hand movement, but I got to this concert early to grab a spot in the front row of the balcony, where I could stabilize the camera on a padded ledge. A tripod would do the trick too, but most venues balk at gear like that. :) All the best, Tim

Such a beautiful song by such a beautiful artist.
I really love the way she looks in the thumbnail.
I always love seeing her mic packs in their pouch matching her outfit.
I'm late to this but i recently found out about this song so recording this live and sharing it does mean a lot thanks you!

Twenty miles left to the show.
Hello, my old country, Hello.
Stars are just beginning to appear,
And I have never, in my life,
Before been here.
And it's my heart, not me,
Who cannot drive,
At which conclusion you arrived,
Watching me sit here, bolt upright,
And cry for no good reason
At the Eastering sky,
And the tilt of this strange nation,
And the will to remain for the duration
(Waving the flag,
Feeling it drag).
Like a bump on a bump on a log, baby;
Like I'm in a fistfight with the fog, baby;
Step, ball-change, and a pirouette!
And I regret
How I said to you,
Honey, just open your heart,
When I've got trouble
Even opening a honey jar.
And that, right there, is where we are.
I've been fessing, double-fast,
Addressing questions nobody asked.
I'll get this joy off of my chest, at last,
And I will love you
Till the noise has long since passed.
I did not mean to shout. Just drive.
Just get us out, dead of alive.
The road's too long to mention--
Lord, it's something to see!--
Laid down by the
Good Intentions Paving Company,
All the way to the thing
We've been playing at, darling.
I can see that you're wearing
Your staying-hat, darling.
For the time being, all is well.
Won't you love me a spell?
This is blindness beyond all conceiving,
While, behind us, the road is leaving
And leaving, and falling back
Like a rope gone slack.
Well, I saw straightaway
That the lay was steep,
But I feel for you, honey,
Easy as falling asleep.

Is going to soften the fall,
But, like after the rain,
Step out of the overhang. That's all.

When the old opry house rang,
So, with a solemn auld lang
Syne, sealed, delivered,

And there is hesitation,
And it always remains
(Concerning you, me,
And the rest of the gang),
And in our quiet hour,
I feel I see everything,
And am in love
With the hook
Upon which everyone hangs.
And I know you meant
To show the extent
To which you gave a goddang--
You ranged real hot and real cold,
But I'm sold.
I am at home on that range.

Right here, at the top of my game,
When I've been trying
With my whole heart and soul

(Lord, you know it's a shame),
When I only want for you to pull over
And hold me,
Till I can't remember my own name.
This just brought a great big smile to my face. A delicious cup of coffee a rainy desert day and this video make for a magical time.
Omg thank you! This is awesome!
The first time I heard this, I stopped trying to write songs.
Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️
phenomenal
Thanks for recording and posting these!
What a GOD
By the way this is the single greatest song lyric in the world.

Thank you so much! Did you record Inflammatory Writ? I absolutely loved the piano arrangement

What camera did you use for these!? I need it!

What's the song she plays next? :-)
Hi Bruno, it was "Peach, Plum, Pear." I managed to record that one too if you're curious: ua-cam.com/video/4JYy6Iz2MQg/v-deo.html
