When my wife and I first heard this song in 1977 we had been married 15 years (married in 1962). It become our very favorite slow dancing song. We loved the words. In our younger years when we might attend an event where they might ask for a request we would always ask for this one. We bought the Johnny rivers album, then the tape, then the CD and we. Finally got Alexa and would just ask Alexa to play slow dancing. Time changes things but the one thing it never changed in our lives was that we never really slow danced to the music we just stood in one spot and always just swayed to the music. Beautiful moments in our lives. She passed away in 2019.

I was born in 59, so I heard all the greats from 50s 60s70s and 80s, there were so many genius artists that could move your soul and your feet at the same time!I don't have to mention the greats they're immortal! Johnny Rivers is one artist that emerged when Elvis was waning(a little) Dylan was starting and the Beatles were exploding! But he shined through to be heard and he is a talent to be reckoned with! From secret agent man,the first song I heard from him to The Poor side of Town! Thanks, Mr.Rivers for makin my life a little better and keeping rock and roll alive1

When I was walking I sang this song to my cabbage patch kid Jonathan
I found out that the guy Jack Tempchin who wrote this song is the same guy who wrote the band Eagles hits, "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and also co-wrote "Already Gone." So, imagine if he gave or presented this to Eagles bandmembers Glenn Frey, Don Henley and the rest of the guys and they agreed to record it. Wonder what would had been the result of it? Just a thought! 🥰🤩😍
