Look around you, look up here
Take time to make time, make time to be there
Look around, be a part
Feel for the winter, but don't have a cold heart
And I love you best
You're not like the rest
You're there when I need you
You're there when I need
I'm gonna need you
A long time ago I had a lady to love
She made me think of things I never thought of
Now she's gone and I'm on my own
A love song has come into my mind
A love song, it was there all the time
So lady, let me take a look at you now
You're there on the dance floor, making me want you somehow
Oh lady, I think it's only fair I should say to you
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, 'cause maybe I do
Look around, come to me
I have no answers, but know where I wanna be
I look around, play a part
I was born in the winter and cooled by a warm heart
And I love you best
You're not like the rest
You're there when I need you
You're there when I need
I'm gonna need you
So lady, let me take a look at you now
You're there on the dance floor, making me want you somehow
Oh lady, I think it's only fair I should say to you
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, 'cause maybe I do
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, lady I do - Розваги
I love everything 70’s I’m 54 now I would go back in time if i could when people were simple and spoke when you passed by them on the streets
I couldn't agree more, Jean. I was just a kid back then, like you were. I didn't appreciate the 70s then, but sure miss them now.
I made the same comment. Where did those days go to?!
Oh to be so young sigh.
I lived my teenage years through the seventies and had a great time. I also would go back in a heart beat. We lived in a more honest world.
Same age same everything
I am here in the madness of 2020 I am 55 years old but I still love this group and the song
I'm with you.
I'm still listening and bring amazing memories. Greetings
Great music endures.
Yaaaas!! I just saw that John Lennon was shot on this day in 1980,and it really sparked alot of old memories,so I've been listening to some older tunes, reminiscing 😌☮️🎶
Cheers Otto! Looks like you and I probably heard this song in the same school grade! Great song indeed mate! 👍😎
@JL R Your Parents had good taste in music back in the day
We grew up in the absolute best of times 70's and 80's. So wish I could go back.
Time machine back to the 70's and 80's and I am in, who's going with me??
When I was a little boy, this song would come on the radio as my mom drove us to the beach. We would stop and get croissants on the way. She was a single mom, an independent free spirt: she took belly dancing lessons, went on hikes with the Sierra Club, took Toastmasters classes to get over her fear of public speaking, volunteered to work as a translator for the 1984 Olympics, and worked two jobs to put me through Catholic school. Four weeks ago I had to put her in assisted living. I am heart broken. This songs takes me back to happier days.
She is a tough woman, she is good
I'm truly sorry you are going thru this..my life..same but remember when words fail...music speaks
Thank you for your thoughts. It means alot to people you don't even know. Much love and respect...
How is mom doing?
@@francesj.jenson6698 Thanks for asking. The first home wasn't a good fit - so about two months ago I moved her closer to me. It's been tough, but time with family helps. The second home isn't as "nice," as the first home, but in the end - shack or palace - what matters to her are the people she sees. The dementia is worsening, but she can still feel the warmth and comfort of family. So it was a good move.
Amazing how a song can take you back to when you were in your late teen's ! I am 65 now and the song and memories are as fresh today. I loved this band.
Same. Here
Back when real artists made real music. Touches my soul and spirit in a great and positive way.
Lady was released in September of 1978. You'll note that the woman in the video are, well women. There are no piercings, no tattoos all over, no cell phones in their hands, and they pay attention to their partner. This was all quite normal back in the day. Interestingly most young girls and woman looked like the ones in the video back in the 70's. To be sure, these woman were chosen for their looks, but way back when, they took care of themselves. So, did the guys. To see an overweight teen was a rarity.
To be sure the 70's had their issues, much like any other decade. However the issues weren't anything like we see today. If you weren't there you couldn't possibly understand what a great time that was to grow up. This video is a time machine and lets you have a glimpse of what life used to be way back when. I had just turned 18 when this song was released. I spent many happy days and nights cruising in my 72" Gran Torino with my girlfriend, now wife, listening to this and many other songs of the day. This is the closest you'll ever get to a magic carpet ride. So sit back and enjoy!
My dad passed in July 1978 😢😢😢
Stupid comment. Unnecessary divisiveness
You are dead on. Couldn't agree more...
Who else is thankful we have UA-cam to listen to & watch all the great “oldies” ?? 😁
So many memories buried in here!! But it freaks me out that they're considered oldies. Freaks me out that I'M OLD!!! Where'd the last 40 years go???
I use to say that to
Ditto
❤️
❤
One of the most underrated bands of all time.
, Tesla never go nowhere Tesla will never going to work
Absolutely
Yea. No doubt about it .
..
Agreed!
I concur!!!!
Now 77, this song takes me back to 30. Beautiful.
There was an explosion of talent and creativity in the 70s
Brilliance all over the place!
I’m 68 and this song takes me back to when I was younger and beautiful!
Same age & same feelings..
I’m 53 I grew up listening to all these great songs and bands who sang them they remind me of Dad, USN Vietnam era, I’m a desert storm veteran but I’ll always treasure the memories of growing up listening with my Dad.
Thank you and your Dad for your service. I was a combat medic in the Army.
Well kids I am in my 90s . And I remember these boys. I loved them in the 1970s. My husband loved them to. But he passed in the 1980s. But we both loved this lovely music and these Lads.👵
Greatly Missed love counts very touching memorable song forever
Ann Margaret, you rock lady ! ✌️
Hello Ann!
There was once a time when music was a deep reflection into the author's soul, & a powerful expression of their very psyche. Music was enriching & instantly relatable to the listener. Today's music is digital & synthetic, uninspiring & unoriginal. Each song is scarcely distinguishable from the other. The 1990's was the last decade of great music. the 2000's is the decade the music died.
Never know what's going through these modern song writers heads . " Gonna pop a cap inna nigga bish " maybe that is their psyche !
Calgon , take me back to the 70s , please !!
I agree with you on that.
I heartily agree with you on this! And don’t get me started on autotune!! 😡 I feel it is my duty to show younger people old music because the new stuff is just garbage. Thank goodness I grew up when music was real. ✌🏼💖
Right on brother! Put me down for "Ditto" of your every word....
This is and always will be my favorite Little River Bands songs. Always made me feel happy and feel good. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song
My wife and I just celebrated 40th wedding anniversary (09/04/1982) When I first seen her, she was in a beautiful white dress, she was dancing on the dance floor at a club. This song takes me back to those wonderful days.
Happy Anniversary to you and your wife.
Man, made in a time where anything that was on the radio was fabulous af. I miss that feeling. Falling in love with a song the first time hearing it.
Well said. I miss the excitement of buying a new album, reading the jacket cover liner notes, and inviting all your closest pals to come over and listen to both sides for the first time. That was always a special event. ;)
Fell into a Little River Band rabbit hole.
Not a bad place. Shared this, Reminiscing, and Help Is On the Way with my 28 year old daughter. I make no apologies for thinking these are beautiful songs.
Man I totally forgot about this band. Just played this and Reminiscing what fantastic songs
In my 58 years I'm alive that song has to be in my top three just love singing along to that over and over everytime I hear that song I'm totally overwhelmed wonderful lyrics beautiful song
It’s amazing how I am 56 years of age, haven’t heard this song in years and I can still hear it completely in my mind
Hello Anne! How are you
I'm 58 and I remember they would play this song for the last dance at the school dances. I was in grade 8 and would always dance with my favorite girl... missing those days.
CHALLENGE
I LOVE YOU
This is a great song. It's funny how a song can instantly transport you to another time and place.
Dedicated to my first wife. She died 26 years ago June 25th. Our three sons send their love as well,
I saw them at an Indian casino, almost no one was there. It was like a private concert. Got a chance to talk with the whole band. Fabulous experience.
Such a beautiful song 😌it almost makes you wanna go out and find that certain someone you’ve been looking for a long time. Who ever just read this, I wish you the best of luck in finding that certain someone & I hope you live happily ever after! 🙏
I've been searching women today are much different 😢
I did that, only on fb. Oh, he's married and so am I. We parted in the worst humiliated regretful way 😢. He held onto grudges. I didn't send him a message, because I didn't want to remind him of what happened. It's when saying you're sorry is NEVER good enough.💔
He was my first, I was 20 and lived a sheltered life. Then moved to the most liberal town in the U.S. There he was, wanting to buy quarters for a pay phone. He was really cute in his Air Force trimmed hair. He was Italian 😘
I was 19 when this came out. What a different time and era! Those were the good old days! where have they gone?!
This song has been with me since I first heard it in 78or 79 and it does not get old. It's got an eternal tune
Yes... eternal.
Me too. Loved it the first time I heard it and I still do, more than 40 years later.
I was just a little guy then, I'm 50 now. The music of this Era and a few others are in my soul. Eighties/Ninties Metal as well, but it all started with this. Thanks Mom!! 😎
Now this is real music, not the crap that's around today! Beautiful!!
Is it strange that I’m 23 and I love 60‘s and 70‘s Folk and classic rock? It’s like I feel out of place because almost my entire generation listens to just and rap and pop music. Don’t get me wrong though I listen to literally everything. I’m open to almost all kinds of music with the exception of jazz and some of the new stuff. Anyway I just feel like I’m existing in the wrong times for sure.
Nope..not strange at all
@@mauriceatwood5226 Nice! Always thought I was an odd ball for listening to older music
Not strange. My son is 16 and he prefers music from this era.
The Telecommunications Act of 1996 signed by Bill Clinton killed music and radio.
Your on the right track...
You're listening to a real music ❤
All of the above, am 75 and really reminiscing, what a group, makes life worth living.
Im such a thankful and grateful person that my mother had showed me so much music from the 70s and the 80s and the 90s
That's all I like now !
amen
I agree....they just don't make music the way they used to. Thanks for sharing!
I know thats rite
Man that was the best days of my life and I didn't even know it ❤
I'm guilty of that also.
This song never gets old. Too many awesome memories attached to it.
Tes i'm 62
Who's Listening in 2020?? Feb.21/2020 1974 baby so I grew up listening. 80s Best Decades for music in my opinion.
70s music was great to
Krista Woodworth wow. Here we are
Totally agree ❣️
Absolutely, was the best decade for music
1960 for me..I remember the Beatles..Rolling Stones the 70s where it took off like this song ..the 80s a perfecting of the 70s...and now getting out of Disco and into the Jamaican sounds groups like El De Barge..ect...Im from Seattle so the 90s here was cool...nowadays no more artists...just computer jockeys...this song brought my wife and I together at a high school dance in 1979..we are still dancing to it..
who can not like this!
This was back when you could still feel music that was from the heart. Amazing lyrics, music, and singing defines this band.
Missouri guy as well and I feel ya!
As i get old i realize that 70's music is the best of all times, all around.
It definitely was > the best of the best! 👍👍👍🌞🌴🌴🌴🌺
When I was younger, in the 1990s, critics/listeners hated on '70s music decrying that it had no soul or heart.
Haha...now they are choking on phoney talent "Auto Tune" artists.
Serves them right.
We're biased, but I concur.
The generation of the 70s made the music.
Tes always hippie
Glenn Frey from the Eagles once said that the Little River Band had the best harmony of any band. That’s pretty nice praise coming from a leader of the Eagles. RIP Glenn. Little River Band is timeless music.
Coming from Glen Frey , that’s all u need
They all tried to do what CSNY did in the 70’s. And some were pretty good at it
@@jt1929 Who tried to do what the Everly Brothers did with only two vocalists, and some were pretty good at it.
Over CSNY even?
Teenagers were the ones who bought music at the record stores. These songs were written for us. What a great time it was, to be a teen in the seventies. I wish I could go back and do it all again.
Love this band. Brings back memories of my high school years when things were simpler and the best music ever.
One of the best but underrated groups of the ‘70’s. Never tire of hearing them even though I am 70.
No doubt LRB always easy on the ear recorded some quality music 🎶, my opinion.👍
70 is the new 50.
Hey 70. Just turned 51. I am making a cool change (career)
69 and I agree! The only album my ex and I argued about as to who got in divorce.
They were not underated, they got to the top with many hits in the top 20, with shows all over the world, they are and they'll always be great.
"You're there on the dance floor making me want you somehow"
Love that line. The grasp and power of a woman. Peace out 🙋♂️
This music is so much better than what's out there now.
Best times of my childhood listening to the little river band and Styxx
Beautiful song! Best ever.
I am blessed to grow up to the most beautiful songs EVER!!! ♥️🌹🎶☝🏽💋
I for one miss those days too !

Hello
I’m a 58 yr old Heavy Metal drummer and I love this song! 😬
Please tell me you're single!
I soon will be. My wife’s on death row! 😀
I’m kidding. Going through a divorce. Kicked me out cause she thought I had Covid! 🤷🏻♂️
@@touchofevil516 WTF? Seriously? Insane!
Why isn't this heavy? It touches you!
I'm 49 and the older I get the more I miss that era I grew up in . Things were better back then when music like this was made.
I was 14 when this song came out, I am 58 now and it's still one of my favorite songs 💕
I too was 14 yrs old just graduated from 8th grade when this was playing on the radio that early summer of 1979...58 yrs old today in 2023
Still is one of my favorites from my favorite decade of music.
Me too but 54 I hear you that was the best days of my life and didn't even know oh my god I love that song
58 and still listening. My kids ask why do I love this music. It keeps me young and political free is always my answer
I'm a musician and I've played and heard a lot of music, yet this has come to be my favorite of all time.
I'm 64 & in the madness of 2022 & LOVE this song!
64 also this music was the greatest
Excellent, Excellent presentation my friend. Back when musicians wrote their own music and played their own instruments. So very rare now, and precious is the music from the 1970's.
I was 15 when this song came out. Thank you.
70's and 90's are my favorite
Little River Band. I'm an old school hard rock and metal fanatic ..... But, of all the soft rock bands out there, Little River Band in my mind ranks as perhaps the best. Pretty underrated, too.
Australican my guess is that you are a musician. We appreciate good music no matter the genre.
So true - I’d rank David Pack’s Ambrosia as a contender though...
MarkTurley :€)
I find it interesting that many hard rock bands have worked with orchestras, to create beautiful sounds, back to early rotts of R & R. Seals & Crofts might fit into the category.
The band Bread had a good run.. ..
The band Bread had a good run of hits
This song is Timeless! I Always loved this song. Came out in 1978 when I was a little kid. Thanks for the upload.
I'm 55 as well and I think this song is one of the all time greatest!!!
58 agrees! This song stands the test of Time & Age !
How on earth could so many dislike this amazing song??? I'm 68 & I love it!❤😎👍
Because we now live in a liberal society that is taught to hate people that love good things. Satan is in a strong presence in sick people. Good times are behind us now till end of times.
Maybe they love the song (as I do) but dislike the video. It would have been great to see beautiful, loving couples of different ages, races, and sizes.
If this song doesn’t touch your soul, then you’re not human.. The harmonies are just Beyond incredible!!
1978 I was a Sophomore in HS. I was in love with a good friend/girl that lived on the other side of my small home town. Every time I heard this song, I thought of her. It was our song. I loved her. She never knew. I was too afraid to tell her.

This band doesn't get enough air time these days. So many great songs. Cool change.
My neighbors have learned to like this song! 😉
LMAO! :)
Your a wonderful neighbor! 🎶💞🎼
As have my roommates
That's the best thing I heard since this virus started 🤭🤣
I’m sorry if I’m your neighbour, hubby told me the only way to learn a song properly is when the neighbours are sick of it too! 😂😂😂
In 1978 this beauty was a big hit! In 2020 this beauty is still a big hit!
thanks for watching! peace2u! eric
Always will be can't put a limit on perfection.
My favorite song from the Winter of 1978/79. Remember the time as end of college and working at first full time job. Was 23 then but the words that stand out still-‘’Take time to make time. Make time to be there’’. Indeed-take time to make time before you run out of time…
Yeah I pretty much grew up in the 70s born in 66 and I love singer-songwriters classic rock anything from the 70s is bitching in my book🎉
Easily one of the greatest songs ever!
The one that almost got away from me . Ended up being over 40 years now . She's what I live for .
I miss the times when this was still played on the radio on a regular rotation.
I actually did go back and met someone I should have kept in my life. I thought of this song the first night we shared together and just sent it. Wow how time flew, I’m 52 almost 53. Let’s see the second time around ❤😊
I lost her in the late 80's but I got her back in 2005 and its everything we could have had and more. GOD blessed us!
70's for me was sweet n innocent .with fun times being a kid
hi Doris
The lyrics, vocals, and instruments are so incredibly beautiful and sad at the same time, it's a real masterpiece.
It really is a very, very well written song. I would say top 50 of all time, for sure.
We had some of the best music in the late 60's- 80's, now look at what there is.
Absolutely nothing !!!
Did your grandparents say the same about your music? Lol! "Get off my lawn"
@@candiceh2006They probably did, but I liked their music too. Anything from the 1940’s until the 1990’s. 98% of everything after that is just garbage. Heck, I even love old classical music! But the stuff nowadays...autotune, soulless electronica and cuss filled, bad poetry set to an electronic bass aka rap is just 🤮
I used to do this song in the band throughout the '70s and well into the '80s. We did it in 3-part and it always sounded like Crosby, Stills, & Nash. Great songs age with grace.
Being a Teen In the 70's It really was the Best!!! Glad I'm 55 yrs. now and I can look back play all my favs on You Tube Love it!! Utube!!

Hi
Little River Band had some of the best songs from the late 70s-early 1980's! Their greatest hits LP was one of the first records I ever bought!
In 74 I'm still alive when I listen to the old music I realize their all gone then I ask Lord when to I go
Hang in there and continue to listen, the Lord gave us groups & songs like this to keep us happy !
Hard yet easy to listen to. Lost my wife to cancer a few years ago. I really need her now. Wish i could look at her again.
Condolences. Wish you peace and that the memories of your wife will bring you happiness.
