The campaign continues to be a treat: fantastic roleplaying; great, multilayered characters that feel alive; really good pacing, although I am aware that video editing helps a little bit in achieving that impressions (ie. trimming ‘dead air’ from a VOD), really, there is nothing bad I can say 😁My only small plea is please, JoCat, make a playlist for the campaign.

My gods I’m trying to binge this all rn and it is giving me sooo much joy I can’t remember a series that made me laugh so much. Everyone is so good and the character interactions are amazing. I think my favorites so far are Buck and Fritz but everyone is so good

22:50 Preach! A few weeks ago, I used the chef feat to make food for the party and give them temp hp. We both rolled 4 on the d4, except the druid, who rolled 1. That single temporary hit point was what saved him being killed outright by sheer burst damage while fighting a Roc. Blew me away. Used my turn to extract him from the fight, action for dash and bonus action to command my robot spider homunculus to use a medicine check to stabilize. I was imagining it using magical silk for binding his wounds so he wouldn’t bleed out.

Well, newer Beast masters are pretty good. In fact, have a Tasha's Beastmaster use Summon beast and have a small pack
Won't be as effective as Conjure animals, but that spell is busted anyway
@@narwaltz1239 I prefer the Beast Tamers and using slimes to OP my enemies, steal their entire treasury from under their nose and take them for all they are worth.
They're level 4 and Buck has two feats already? I'm assuming Jo gave them all a free feat?
I'd have to brush up, but it's equally possible Buck took custom lineage to get a bonus feat.
@@narwaltz1239 Buck still has his racial Bugbear features like his go go gadget Bugbear arms so I'm assuming that they all took an extra feat at level one. Although I'm not sure what feats the others took if that's the case.

Some of the artwork isn't done by Jo himself, it's sent in from his community or by an artist he commissioned for it.... But yeah, he does like having attractive npcs all around.

Subtracting range for being high up? That's not how ranged attacks work IRL, the higher up you are the longer a projectile can fall before it touches ground - and in D&D range (as RAW) doesn't make a difference between horizontal or diagonal movement so I don't believe that would matter either. At least not unless you're shooting upwards, and IIRC there's no rule that limits the range for that either?
Jo can sometimes make a bad call when making up things on the spot, it happens to everyone. But you're correct, the range should have been increased a bit due to height advantage. I would have ruled that way in my own campaigns, or at least not given a penalty.
Yeah but that disadvantage on using a Longbow or any range weapon for a point blank attack, Mass Effect Death sound plays.

Did jocat say that flanking gives a +2? Is that a home brew rule?
Pathfinder and D&D 3.5 do it, but D&D 5e is supposed to give advantage when you flank someone. Jo has a number of home rules for this setting.

Jo... shooting down at a target INCREASES how far you can accurately shoot. Otherwise archers would never be manning a wall with the intent to fire from it (unless they were desperate). In the real world, it's very effective to be shooting down at a target, because your arrow will fire farther due to the increased arc. At the very least, D&D has never had a rule about it affecting shooting range in any way, outside of magic spells. This is one time where I cannot agree with your ruling on that, it goes against how archery works, and more importantly, it penalizes a player character for thinking smart and taking the high ground.
